Who's the first draft lottery pick?

The pic they showed for the promo for Jericho's interview with the first draft lottery pick was a shadow. From past experiences, I know that they always use the real photo with those sillhouettes, so I took a good hard look at the shadow and I have these guesses as to who it may be, based on their pose and appearances:

- Billy Kidman
- Mark Jindrak
- Nunzio
- Rene Dupree
- Scotty 2 Hotty

Yeah, that's about it. I mean, the silhouette doesn't really look like anyone else. Anybody got any other guesses?

Gouda 06-02-2005 11:23 PM

They never use the real shadows. Or if they do, it's very rarely.

And the draft lottery is being kept all hush hush, the talent don't even know who's going to be drafted (except probably Christian knows where he's going).

Pepsi Man 06-02-2005 11:35 PM

Yeah, they don't use the actual people in most cases. I remember before I knew that, though, and I had no idea that Owen Hart's mystery partner at WrestleMania XI to take on the Smoking Gunns would be Yokozuna.

TerranRich 06-02-2005 11:44 PM

Hmm. I remember at least twice they used the real shadow in those "mystery" graphics. Oh well. :P They probably used a real wrestler's image, like Nunzio (somebody people wouldn't readily recognize), and used that as a placeholder. Oh well. :)

It has to be a big name to start I would think just so people would actually think that anything can happen.

M. Banana 06-02-2005 11:52 PM

Don't care.

Kane Knight 06-02-2005 11:54 PM

Anything CAN happen.

With the first pick, the Raw Brand selects...Carlito's hairstylist!

I remember last year some poster gave out all the names before the lottery

KURT ANGLE WILL GO FIRST IN THE DRAFT.

John Cena will be first. Mark it down

No, I think that's the motto of the "Infinite Improbability Drive."

The CyNick 06-03-2005 08:23 AM

It has to be a big name.

If Angle is going to go I would say him. Maybe Taker.

Team Sheep 06-03-2005 09:42 AM

I haven't got a clue, but that's what's so great about the whole draft lottery. I have a vague idea of who I can see going but I don't know which order or whatever. Lol, I'm really excited about this for some reason. But I won't get my hopes up too high, because knowing the WWE, it will all just be a screw up anyway. :-\

James Steele 06-03-2005 09:45 AM

AKA last year's draft lottery.

I think they should do a complete brand rehaul. They do the draft just like they did the very first time. SmackDown! picks 10, RAW picks 10 and the rest are randomly selected.

Xero 06-03-2005 10:14 AM

To me the silhouette looked like Christian. Same build, almost the same pose he uses for promo pictures.

Wouldn't that just mean all the superstars swap shows?

Innovator 06-03-2005 01:27 PM

Angle or JBL

How can Christian be drafted to Raw when he's on it ;)

Nark Order 06-03-2005 01:44 PM

I say JBL will definately be drafted. Prolly not first though.

loopydate 06-03-2005 02:34 PM

I have a draft lottery question that hasn't been addressed on TV yet (I think).

Let's say Kurt Angle is the first draftee for RAW. So, conceivably, couldn't SmackDown re-draft Angle at some point, since he's now a member of the RAW roster?

6to1 06-03-2005 02:42 PM

yea i think both jbl and angle will go to raw since they are with bischoff on kicking the crap out of the fomer ecw guys. i think that will be the new heel stable under bischoff add edge and tyson and maby mavan.

Jonster 06-03-2005 02:50 PM

Michael Cole.

The Gooch 06-03-2005 04:20 PM

I'm thinking it will be Big. Big Show big for the first pick.

NoRoolz 06-03-2005 05:04 PM

Yeah I think it's gotta be a big name. I can really see JBL going to Raw, if not JBL it will be Angle or Undertaker.

Savio 06-03-2005 05:18 PM

Looks kinda like Jindrak in that shadow.

Kane Knight 06-03-2005 05:19 PM

If it's Undertaker, I will hold a memorial for Kane the following night.

Gouda 06-03-2005 05:29 PM

Haaaaaas.

Never really thought about that, that could be a sweet angle.

I think it may be Cena

TerranRich 06-07-2005 09:18 PM

It makes sense that it was Cena. All of his loose ends were tied up on Smackdown already. No more challengers lined up for him, JBL busy with the invasion.

TerranRich 06-07-2005 09:19 PM

Now just think of someone whose loose ends are all tied up (or at least forgotten) on RAW. I say Shelton Benjamin's next. :p

Supermark101 06-07-2005 09:24 PM

I got Randy Orton. I was right about Cena By the way bitches.

Mr. Obvious 06-08-2005 12:33 AM

I was expecting John Cena to go, but I was a bit shocked he went first. In retrospect though, it's not very surprising at all.

As for Smackdown's first pick, it doesn't feel like there's nearly as much hype surrounding this one (ie, there's been no promise of an exclusive interview or anything of the sort), which could serve to indicate that a smaller name will be going first. Of course, in true WWE fashion, this could also just be another case of them neglecting Smackdown  .

In any event, I'm guessing Randy Orton or Shelton Benjamin for Smackdown's first draft pick.

RP 06-08-2005 12:45 AM

Batista will be drafted by Smackdown.

RP 06-08-2005 12:56 AM

Second thought. I have a gut feeling it will be Chris Benoit.

The Gooch 06-08-2005 05:24 AM

Anyone get the feeling that Smackdown is going to get fucked again in this draft? Cena is one of the few reasons that fans tune into Smackdown. They're going to have to get huge compensation for losing him. I like Batista, but I don't see his value greater than Cena's at the moment. Especially from an entertainment standpoint. I may not get into the whole rap gimmick, but a large segment of the fans does, and that is all that matters.

I guess Christian may end up staying on RAW now as we were all thinking that he was moving to feud with Cena.

Dave Youell 06-08-2005 06:00 AM

Is there anything stopping someone being drafted twice?

I.e Cena is now on Raw, what's to stop Teddy drafting Cena back tomorrow

I was thinking that this may seriously happen yesterday. Perhaps Cena comes to RAW has a 1 month feud with Christian and then goes back to Smackdown. I do think it would be a huge disappointment for the fans though.

For some reason I'm thinking Eric Bischoff may get traded to Smackdown. If Smackdown is going down the shitter, I wouldn't be surprised if Vince moved Eric. This way he can say that Eric screwed the show up and many of the moron fans would believe him.

Londoner 06-08-2005 07:38 AM

I don't think Cena will go back to smackdown, he's done everything he can on there. It would be seen as a step down aswell. Moving Cena to Raw was the right thing to do imo. Even though Batista may not have the same star power as Cena, he would still be a big asset for them. I still think Christian will go to smackdown to. And he has tons of star power at the moment.Got a feeling Angle's coming to Raw. Which is bad for smackdown also, not to say they can't even it up again though.Raw has so many it afford lose a few.

Great post. Wouldn't if Batista gets drafted to Smackdown just seem way too convenient? C'mon, unless he is traded it will look so fixed. Simple stats say this is next to impossible. Perhaps I'm just thinking way too much, but I figured I throw it out there.

Londoner 06-08-2005 08:25 AM

I don't think it's impossible at all, we all know its fixed anyway so i don't think it really makes a difference. I thought it was impossible to see Cena on Raw, but it happened, i sitll can't believe it though, kinda like when they said HHH was going to smackdown last year.

The Gooch 06-08-2005 08:34 AM

I like the idea of Bischoff doing a straight up trade for Angle with Batista. Perhaps his loyalty against ECW will impress Bischoff enough to make the trade.

This would certainly hurt Smackdown, but I want a few more matches of Shawn vs. Angle.

Londoner 06-08-2005 08:45 AM

Could always move HBK to smackdown.

Gertner 06-08-2005 10:00 AM

I say Randy Orton then Shawn Micheals, Snitsky, Steven Richards, Rob Conway

To Raw after Cena, Taker, Rene Dupree, Big Show, Kenzo Suzuki

Yeah I was hoping that from the onset until HBK got injured. Smackdown can't afford to have any more of their top names not be able to perform in the ring. Having HBK hurt effects RAW less than it would Smackdown were he to be traded.

Pepsi Man 06-08-2005 04:48 PM

I see him either losing it to someone who goes to that brand, or the World Champion being drafted. It's bound to happen.

The only other thing I could think of is if Triple H is drafted before the Vengeance match, and he wins at Vengeance, in a built up Raw vs. SmackDown! thing.

Rain Man 06-08-2005 04:52 PM

Hate to say it but Randy..

John la Rock 06-08-2005 04:54 PM

I say HBK

FourFifty 06-09-2005 12:11 AM

I want to see Teddy Long get drafted to Raw so Eric outlasts another SmackDown GM.
