Don't think this was posted before.....:wavesad: bye maven

Blanka 07-05-2005 10:24 PM

Both were posted before. But you should change the title to something like "List of Superstars Released" or something like that, then edit it each time someone else goes.

Blanka 07-05-2005 10:36 PM

.44 Magdalene 07-05-2005 10:41 PM

Wait.

:shifty:

Gangrel's actually been under employment this whole time?

I've seen him like, twice, if ever recently. What the hell?

Marc the Smark 07-05-2005 10:43 PM

so they got rid of Maven and Kidman and brought back The Godfather? What is this? 1996?

JT 07-05-2005 11:34 PM

March 2006...I don't know if this is balsphamy or what, but Ted Turner needs to make a return to this sport (though it looks doubtful).

With all these people that are going to be let go, I think wrestling needs a market as big as the WWE, and that not TNA.

Deceit 07-05-2005 11:56 PM

Hopefully Spike and Shannon Moore get a chance to shine in TNA.

Pegasus Crawford 07-06-2005 12:47 AM

Okay, so they traded Jindrak to Raw only to get fired?

Somebody's Gotta Die 07-06-2005 01:30 AM

My thoughts on the released superstars...

Mark Jindrak

He was never really exciting to watch... He brought two things to the table, an amazing dropkick and an awesome physique... His wrestling style was very mechanical and caused slow, irritating matches... Surprised to see him released actually since I was expecting him to be involved with something along with Chris Masters, however I think it was a good move because his talent will always hold him back from being the "next big thing"...

Maven

Not surprised to see the release and a pretty obvious move... Maven hasn't been over for a very long time and he was never an amazing talent... Seeing him out there is actually quite boring and he hasn't had any memorable matches... Good young hopeful but definitely not a necessity for the roster and another very good release, in my opinion...

Shannon Moore

Internet fans dream about him; I don't know why... Average at best and hardly the best cruiser around... I was hoping he would be released and I was also hoping the same thing for Scotty 2 Hotty, which has yet to be seen since he has been with the company for a very long period of time... A guy like this might do better in something like TNA or even ROH...

James Yun (Akio)

Sad to see him go... Very talented, however not the most charismatic... Solid worker and a great hopeful... Wanted to see the CW title on him in the near future... Worst choice for a release for me because he was actually exciting to watch... WWE should have capatilized on something involving Tajiri and Akio vs. Psicosis and Crazy... Lots of talent like Akio and Tajiri have been misused for a long period of time...

David Heath (Gangrel)

They should have at least used him more than once if he has been getting paid this whole time? It's a cool gimmick, I think... Gangrel + Viscera as tag champions = ratings as opposed to Hurricane + Rosey...

Billy Kidman

Not surprised... Injury prone and has been lacking in the ring for a long time... I expect to see him in TNA soon enough... Was never really going to get over big again and his feud with London was prematurely buried... He has had some outstanding matches in the past but his career has come to a pretty big bump in the past year or two...

Spike Dudley

Actually happy about this... I am sure WWE could get him to work another ECW-related project, however he is hardly an exciting cruiserweight to watch and everything involving him and the Dudleys has been done to death... Never an amazing in-ring worker and even harder to watch him in the past year or so with his dreadful work as a heel... He has been poorly booked and the fans are giving him X-Pac heat... Not surprised nor upset about this release...

Kevin Fertig

The Mordecai thing was killed pretty quickly so I'm not surprised... WWE hardly needs anymore slow, oversized workers that put on identical matches... Watching Edge, Snitsky, Kane, Show, Morgan, Heidenreich, Masters and Viscera matches is as far as it's going to go... These guys are at least getting over with prosperous gimmicks and playing to the crowd... :-\

Corkscrewed 07-06-2005 01:45 AM

I just realized they released Mordecai. Sad.... I thought he would at least just wait in OVW. But these moves don't make sense for the stuff they could do.

Plus they just killed the CW division. Again.

Savio 07-06-2005 01:50 AM

Masters.....over?

Savio 07-06-2005 01:54 PM

Dudleys just got the boot...and innovator said Morgan is gone to. My guess is brock just resigned and they had to cut pay checks

Goulet 07-06-2005 02:06 PM

add Charlie Hass, Miss Jackie, and Dawn Marie to that list

Jonster 07-06-2005 02:08 PM

Add:
Charlie Haas
Jackie Gayda
Marty Jannetty
Dawn Marie

To that list, just checked wwe.com.

Jonster 07-06-2005 02:09 PM

Curse you Goulet!

G-wrath 07-06-2005 02:09 PM

They might release Dawn Marie. She's pregnant, and they won't bother with a woman with stretch marks and a belly.

The Mackem 07-06-2005 02:10 PM

Out with the old divas in with the new.

Current employees must shit themselves when the memo goes round saying that there will be a diva search.

Rob 07-06-2005 02:13 PM

This company just does not have a clue. And how the fuck did Heidenreich survive the cuts?

Deceit 07-06-2005 02:14 PM

List as of 2:10 EST

Matt Morgan
Charlie Haas
Jackie Gayda
Marty Jannetty
Dawn Marie
Mark Jindrak
Maven
Shannon Moore
James Yun (Akio)
David Heath (Gangrel)
Billy Kidman
Spike Dudley
Kevin Fertig

KingofOldSchool 07-06-2005 02:16 PM

The Masterpiece.

GOOOONE.

Esoteric 07-06-2005 02:16 PM

Kind of surprised that Marty Jannetty got it, I mean at least the new heel Shawn Michaels could have used him as a punching bag/ squash match or could have been used in the Master Lock challenge, again of course squashed again

Kapoutman 07-06-2005 02:17 PM

Charlie Haas could have been big with a couple of years more.. The only other one I care about is Akio.

Xero 07-06-2005 02:17 PM

Damn it... Haas could have been so much more, but after he and Shelton split, he was teaming with HOLLY on VELOCITY.

KingofOldSchool 07-06-2005 02:17 PM

Out of all of them, the only one I really gave a damn about was Haas mainly because I was banking on a potential Haas/Benjamin feud.

If they cut Benjamin I will really flip a bitch.

Innovator 07-06-2005 02:18 PM

Haas would be a solid pick up for TNA

SuperSlim 07-06-2005 02:18 PM

I feel like I'm keeping track of trades in the MLB and NBA right before the trade deadline.

SuperSlim 07-06-2005 02:31 PM

notice how a large majority of those released are SmackDown! and not Raw folks.

Reported by Ryan Clark on 07.06.2005

Marty Jannetty was actually released last week.

Dawn Marie and Jackie Gayda were both pretty well aware that they were on the cuts list.

Expect eight to ten more cuts to come.

8 to 10 MORE cuts? If this source is true then who do you think they will be?

Val Venis
Scotty 2 Hotty
Kenzo Suzuki
Hiroko
Tyson Tomko
Tajiri
William Regal
Hardcore Holly.

They're my predictions, but I'd be sad to see almost all of them go. :(

Masters has one last good thing about him if, God forbid, Lesnar goes to RAW. Obviously, Lesnar accepts the Master Lock and breaks it in less than three seconds, then goes onto kick Masters' ass in Masters' last WWE match.

That'd be a great way to bring him back into the fold.

Kane Knight 07-06-2005 03:32 PM

KEnzo's been announced. Wonder if Hiroko's staying. :shifty:

What Would Kevin Do? 07-06-2005 03:35 PM

Let me say it again...

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! WHAT THE BLOODY FLYING FUCK!!!!

Jannetty I can deal with, the Dudley's I can deal with, although I don't like it...

WHY THE FUCK DID THEY RELEASE HAAS???? HE HAS MORE POTENTIAL THAN HALF THE FUCKING ROSTER! HE COULD HAVE WORKED A GREAT PROGRAM WITH SHELTON!! HELL, HE'S PRETTY MUCH SHELTON'S EQUAL (both can do a straight vertical leap to the top rope, and given time, I can gurantee Haas could probably do anything Shelton could)

This really fucking sucks... Someone is going to make a killing with the talent WWE is dropping...

FUCK!! WHY HAAS?!?!?!

No more World's Greatest Tag Team :( :(

FUCK!

Disturbed316 07-06-2005 03:37 PM

Benjamin vs Haas would have been big bucks

What Would Kevin Do? 07-06-2005 03:41 PM

WAIT, Hold the fuck on... So they fire all these people, yet they're still doing the goddamn diva search?? Yet all the fucking Diva's from last year are still employed... THEY JUST HIRED BIG FUCKING VITO!?!?!?! No offense to big Vito, I'll take Haas. Lesnar I can stand... And fuck Hogan, they're probably paying him a two year salary to show up at three fucking shows.. Fucking money whores.

Fucking Diva ass bullshit..

And fuck Bob Holly.

Xero 07-06-2005 03:46 PM

That's two roster trades gone... Boy what a waste of a trade.

Gerard 07-06-2005 03:47 PM

What is the point of having these contracts where the wwe can bind you up to multi year no compete clauses if they want to but then can go ahead and release you for any reason they want? Id hope the no compete clauses are nulified if you get released by wwe but if you leave by just wanting to leave then they can seriously fuck you over and make the clause stick.

Wrestling badly needs some kind of union like jesse ventura tried to start. :nono:

FearedSanctity 07-06-2005 03:51 PM

This is all good for TNA I guess. The 90 day no compete clauses end right around October. Assuming Spike picks them up

I believe the no compete clauses are in affect whether you're released or walk. It's even more bullshit when they have to wait 90 days when their contract actually runs up and it's not renewed.

Flagg77 07-06-2005 03:58 PM

Hey WWE way to make your Tough Enough program look really good too since you just released two winners and a few contestants. (Maven, Gayda, and Morgan)

I couldn't agree more that these cuts are probably in response to Hogan and Lesnar coming back, which is bullshit and means that they are money whores.

Disturbed316 07-06-2005 04:00 PM

Don't forget Nida getting the chop also awhile back.

Gertner 07-06-2005 04:08 PM

SuperSlim 07-06-2005 04:40 PM

Cool King 07-06-2005 04:44 PM

no one's surprised or cares that the Dudleys are gone?

WTF, WWE are so retarded. Not that i'm sad to see Kenzo or Jindrak go, but what was the point of trading them, then releasing them before they even have a match on their new show. Same goes for Morgan, he was just getting TV time and had started to show some potential.

And don't even get me started on Charlie Haas.
