Well they really got us (contains some Raw Spoliers)

Well Hardy and the WWE sure got us. I must say nicely done :y: you sure taught internet fans a lesson you SOB'S .The Hardy punisher gimmick is back on and I think this shit was a total work....

edit your topic title you newbie

Mike the Metal Ed 07-12-2005 12:30 AM

Might wanna edit the title so that the spoiler isn't ruined before you click on it.

Mike the Metal Ed 07-12-2005 12:38 AM

I'd still say that's a spoiler, don't mention Matt at all.

Savio 07-12-2005 12:38 AM

Was the whole thing a work then? I remember Edges wife went on his site and alot of people thought it wasn't her and had some proof.

loopydate 07-12-2005 12:41 AM

Maybe "Well, they really got us (RAW Spoilers)"?

BigDaddyCool 07-12-2005 12:42 AM

four little words

angle of the year....

fucking brillant that was. I shit my pants

FearedSanctity 07-12-2005 12:42 AM

Yeah, just cut it to "Well they really got us (Raw Spoliers)"

FearedSanctity 07-12-2005 12:43 AM

Ah, beat to it

Sepholio 07-12-2005 12:44 AM

Do you think it is possible that it was a one-off appearance for Hardy? I can't tell what to think yet.

Either way, I marked out like never before.

Bad Company 07-12-2005 12:56 AM

Yeah, I really fell for it.

James Steele 07-12-2005 12:58 AM

LOL, Having the spoiler in the title then putting (RAW Spoiler) isn't really effective.

den1982 07-12-2005 01:18 AM

all a work good job hardy matt talk st'@ about wwe

Corkscrewed 07-12-2005 01:34 AM

It wasn't all a work.... Lita fucked Edge... Matt makes a fuss... writers latch onto something good.

All good coincidence... unless upcoming news says otherwise.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:37 AM

I agree whole-heartedly with Corkscrewed. DId anyone else catch Matt Hardy yelling "I'm still with Ring of Honor! R.O.H.!!!" What have we talking about all this time, people? WWE is fucking with us. US, the smart Internet fans. They're blurring the line between kayfabe and reality. Did you hear Matt call Edge his real name, but not Lita's? I'm telling you, he tried to sound like he was breaking kayfabe, but he slipped up when he called the former love of his life, the girl that broke his heart, by her "stage name."

I hereby call it antikayfabe, like the evil twin of kayfabe. I truly believe we're seeing a new direction for the WWE in terms of storytelling and plot development. If something happens backstage, they no longer try to hide it. They take advantage of it. They use it to their advantage. Why bury knowledge of its existence when you could make millions of dollars off of it?

Also, think about it: If Matt Hardy had gone on his web site after the "tease" and said "Dammit! I hate WWE! Blargh!" then I would agree that the entire thing (cheating, controversy, and all) was a work. Let me run down a list of what I believe is a work and what is real:

REAL: Lita cheated on Matt with Edge
REAL: Matt whines about it on his web site
REAL: WWE realizes the potential of fucking with us.
WORK: WWE releases Matt Hardy
REAL: WWE releases a shitload of talented people (sorry)
WORK: Matt Hardy "teases" an appearance at the wedding (planned)
WORK: Matt Hardy "invades" Raw and is "arrested".

That's what I think went down these past few months, anyway.

Tonight was the first time in a LOOOONG time that the WWE has truly shocked me. No pre-show spoilers, no rumors, only speculation.

Wow.

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:40 AM

Yep. It was clearly ALL a work, because this last shit came out.

The same is true of all talent who badmouthed the WWE and vice versa. Paul Bearer, everyone on Austin leaving, Brock Lesnar trying out for the NFL, Hogan's last 90 times leaving the company, Piper getting fired...

It's all a work. Vince is a fucking genius.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:43 AM

I edited my above post. I still maintain that it wasn't ALL a work. WWE made it into a work once they realized the power they had. Vince is brilliant.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:45 AM

Linda: VINCE! Give me your brain! I WANT IT NOW! I want your brilliance!

;)

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:48 AM

I wans't addressing you particularly, Terran.

Splaya 07-12-2005 01:50 AM

Tell you what, this is going to be fued of the year. I watched it again and look at how well the crowd was behind him.

darkpower 07-12-2005 01:55 AM

Well, if the WWE is really fucking around with us, don't you think that we have to stand up and say "we're not falling for it"? I mean, think about it. This might be a way to stick it to the internet fans, and for that, we may need to stick it back to them.

Mr. Obvious 07-12-2005 01:55 AM

All due respect to Vince, you're giving him way too much credit. Seriously now, after the whole thing was leaked and caught on, a 3 years old could have seen the potential behind this feud. Vince just made the obvious move, that's all.

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:58 AM

Yeah, but Vince pushed the pudding.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:59 AM

Yes, but it's a move that, 5 years ago, Vince would've scoffed at, or even insulted anyone for ever thinking of it. I think he's finally seen the light as to how the Internet can be useful to him.

On a similar note, I truly believe that Brock Lesnar is Vince's way of gauging whether or not he can be successful at starting his OWN Internet controversy or make Internet fans talk himself, as opposed to feeding off of other peoples' controversy and adopting it. I believe Vince is using Brock as a way of seeing if he can be successful at creating his own smart fans.

He's playing the role of Dr. Frankenstein. :p

And darkpower, you kinda have a point, but I'm actually more interested in just lying back and seeing how this all plays out.

And yeah, I know I was giving Vince way too much credit...but still, it's pretty damn cool. ;)

Savio 07-12-2005 02:00 AM

Yeah.....that was brilliant.....they did a great job of making it look legit (with the mentioning of RoH and everything), the only dead giveaway to internet fans being that Matt called her "Lita", not "Amy".

Still, kudos to WWE.......that's 2 angles now that they've used the Internet for...

Okay, that's the problem. Once again, Vince wants control. the WWF did WCW THEIR WAY, and it bombed (InVasion is often hyped as one of the biggest disappointments in history). They did Goldberg and the nWo THEIR WAY, and it bombed. They pushed Cena VINCE'S way, and it sucked (Poopoo? Yeah). Vince is a control freak, and I don't know if he can learn from his past follies.

Yeah, so he'd be better off letting the dirt sheets do his work for him. This won't have the same level of hype as Matt returning.

Yeah, this would be the dumbest thing since running with Katie Vick.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 02:13 AM

Sorry KK, I wasn't saying that the Brock-Vince idea of creating their own controversy was cool. I was talking about the Matt situation. I agree that Vince is a control freak and needs to do things his way, which is why he's trying to run the Internet fans HIS way. And it will fail. I forgot to mention that. :p But yeah, poor choice of words in that last post. :)

Actually, the Brock thing is cool. But it's also so...Fake...If they're hoping to stir people up, this AIN'T the way to do it. IMO.

I think it's a great way to build up an obvious return, but IF the intent is to leave people hanging, it's going to shock people about as much as an Arab-character being heel.

Mr. JL 07-12-2005 02:26 AM

I think the ROH fans may boo the shit out of Matt now

Fignuts 07-12-2005 02:29 AM

Called it bitches!!!

Shadow 07-12-2005 02:50 AM

Fucking hell this is a work! I'll kill the entire family.

And that ROH mention at the end...he was saying he's going to commit to his ROH dates, that's all.

Ok..next week Jeff shows up. Week after that, Shannon shows up...week after that some random chick they found off the street. That's how this'll work out.

GOD FUCKING DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!

Someone1001 07-12-2005 02:54 AM

Y'know, this is kind of a scary thought...but what if not all the releases were real? And Hardy leads a bunch of 'fired' wrestlers in revolt against the WWE? They can sit in the crowd and stuff, kinda like what Raven's Flock did way back in WCW. Well, at least I think it's a neat idea.

Fox 07-12-2005 03:02 AM

I think Hardy should stay off WWE TV for a couple of weeks, if not a month, before making his next "appearance." Hell, why not make it during Edge's "Money in the Bank" Title match on a PPV? He said he would make Edge and Lita's lives a living hell - he ought to screw with them at planned and cunning intervals - not every week. That would ruin the whole thing. They should build this thing up until WrestleMania.

This is going to be good.

Innovator 07-12-2005 03:07 AM

I'm going to ROH on Saturday, after being there live for Matt coming back...yeah the crowds are going to be polar opposites.

If you guys are ready for a ride, jump the f*ck on. Well, I promised you all fireworks, so I hope I didn't disappoint. As of July 11th, 2005, my personal Independence Day, the Movement has begun-- and the Movement's purpose is two-fold. Purpose one--To never let anyone control what Matt Hardy says and does and thinks. Purpose two--To make Adam Copeland, Amy Dumas, and the WWE regret what they did to me, what they did to us. It's time for Matt Hardy to stand up for all the MFer's that have been chanting "We Want Matt", and "You Screwed Matt". Although you may not know this--you guys, the MFers, started the Movement months ago. I can now finally join the Movement because I am no longer controlled by the WWE. The McMahons, the Johnny Aces, and all of the WWE management can kiss my @$$. I did what I did tonight because for me to live with myself, Adam "Feces" Copeland must pay. I'm not going to let the WWE forget that they f*cked up when they released me instead of that scumbag home-wrecker. And Amy Dumas, you know what's it's like to have me as your closest ally--but you're gonna hate to see what it's like to have me as your worst enemy b*tch. Even though I didn't slash your tires FCF, slashed tires are going to be the least of your problems--Bank on it. A little message to the whore, the feces, and the horsesh*t "family" that is the WWE--Matt Hardy is like cancer, I don't go away and you won't find a cure. I thank EVERYONE that has supported me through thick and thin--I promise I will always be there for my MFers. I love you guys--and as I always say, without you, there is no me. I am going to turn a hugely negative situation into something that will benefit us. If you don't want to be able to predict what happens next, you're all in for a treat.

P.S. - If you're thinking about pressing charges Vince, I got a couple bucks, I'll fight it. Besides, I think I might have some pixs and video from a camera phone that shows your officers Rodney Kinging my @$$. My wrist is cut from the handcuffs, and I would suggest that there was a little unnecessary roughness involved in kicking me out of your building.

P.S.S. - And don't forget to catch Matt Hardy in action this Friday in Indiana, PA, this Saturday in Woodbridge, CT, and you never know where I'll show up on Sunday. And The Matt Hardy Show is so on...

Nice fake punches.

Nice having the mic work for you when you needed it.

Nice getting two segments in and minutes of airtime before they caught you.

Nice having the guards be in place.

Nice having WWE Cameras catch it all.

Nice haing WWE having Edge do a scene walking to the ring, just in time for you.

Nice having the guards not get to you seconds later after you are finishing talking.

I love how it fit WWE's LIVE! Air time perfectly.

Some freedom, eh Matty? First day off you go back. I love how you got passed all the security to get in in the first place.

You arn't stupid. You should know if it was real WWE Inc. wouldn't have to press charges, considering authority saw the whole thing along with Video footage.

They don't have any photos with him.

PureHatred 07-12-2005 03:38 AM

I don't even know. This feels like that instant of realization in the first Matrix when Neo sits up in the pod and you realize that the whole world is fake. It''s that kind of epiphany.

Basically, the writers lucked into a brilliant angle, but have probably had this planned for months and now everything that felt real about this is suddenly phony. I want to say Matt Hardy saying this was a shoot on his site is a pussy move, but it actually makes total sense.

Liek I said in my "retards have computers" thread, the line between reality is blurirng and obviously there are some hardcore marks out there who will believe forever that this was all real. But the WWE is doing a brilliant job of controlling the reality of this situation. Even now, they didn't metion it live, they didn;t mention it on their site in the Raw recap, and they're actually building the storyline by pretending it never happened.

And let's face it: no one can say with a 100% certainty that this wasn't a work from day one. All the information that came out came from either a)Hardy himself or b) Net sites that were probably quoting sources in the WWE. If that's not controlling the media, then I don't know what is.

The Republican party could learn something from the WWE.

I know its an angle now. But where the angle started and the reality ended..I just don't know. That's the brilliance.

Finnally! People will belive me! And all it took was Matt Hardy showing up on RAW the way he did.

I feel like the Question now though. Ahh well.

Bottom line is PH is quite right. Even the Retards Have Computers is just what the WWE is banking on. Take a look at what the idiots on his site are saying. That's what Vince is looking for. Wait for Lesner to come back. Quite possibly this thursday. Or hell, GAB. Then the Internet responce will dictate what happens next. And I think with Matt Hardy/Edge at least...it'll probably be around at least until Mania. Which would rock.

Man,im totally believing this was a shoot now. I mean Hardy got arrested and yet still had time to write up a message on his website the same day  .

The Mackem 07-12-2005 08:42 AM

Right if the Matt Hardy thing is a work, what does that make him to the fans? I mean he's a face to half of the internet community who thought he got a shitty deal by being released but he is the biggest arsehole to live to his psycho fans who go to the Matt Hardy boards offering their support. To the regular fans who don't have the internet he's a face because of the references Edge and Lita have been making over the last few weeks.

It's a really good angle based on what some of you have said, you can't tell 100% what were the real parts and what are the works. You could branch out into 100 different combinations of what happened from complete all out work from the very beginning i.e Edge/Lita/Hardy idea for a storyline to complete real events. The genius about this is you don't know what is going to happen next.

Certainly a highlight of the year.

Yeah if Matt Hardy has a pay per appearance deal with every major promotion, it would be as funny as fuck.

What's funny is that we were all supposed to be loving HBK's turn last night. And all we can talk about it Matt Fucking Hardy

Azriel 07-12-2005 09:56 AM

Hmm, I tried registering on the board, but it keeps sending me to the main forum page

Afterlife 07-12-2005 10:30 AM

Yeah...or it's all just a shoot. :shifty:

Yeah. I don't know why. Could it be Michaels was boring last night?

Of course it's real. I mean, he could have been bailed out at 11 PM at night. It happens all the time (Even though there was no way he could have been seen by a judge until Today).

tucsonspeed6 07-12-2005 11:58 AM

I don't get Hardy fans.

A week ago, a typical MFer would say, "I hate the WWE! They fired Matt so I won't ever see him on my TV again! What they should have done was given him a huge angle to work with that would help in pushing him to the moon. I hate the WWE and I'll never watch their shows again!"

Today it's "I hate you Matt. You're a sellout. Even though I said I'd never watch the hated WWE ever again, I watched it and saw you on their show last night, and now I hate you because you're a sellout and a liar! The WWE sucks because they tricked me into thinking you're gone, but then they gave you an angle that could potentially be as big as the Outsiders. V.1 could be the next nWo and you're probably gonna be successful now. I hate you for that."

Then they probably go out and burn the emo mix tape they made for when they're feeling like crying in their pillow for unemployed Matt. They call their other MFer friends over so they can have a big bonfire with their mix tapes, and afterwards they all gorge themselves on icecream and make new emo mix tapes with the exact same songs in the same order and label them "Matt suxorzzZ" and listen to them when they go online and tell everyone on the internet that Matt really has "X-pac heat." Then they cry in their pillows over still employed Matt.

Wow. Because 2 or 3 people started flipping out over Matt rejoining the WWE, you make a generalisation of his fans. JEsus Christ man, no wonder you got so huffy over Christian comments. You probably think everyone's as big a bigoted asshole as you are.

Precisely. And it's all starting to make sense now. Remember when WWE.com suddenly started advertising their releases? I don't mean just recently, I mean starting with Rhyno, Molly Holly, all those. One can argue that it started with Rhyno. They were just testing the waters, to see how people would react to seeing a released superstar on WWE programming (albeit ECW was used as a coverup). If it weren't for the Diva Search, I'd say that Molly Holly would return soon as well.

I'm interested in seeing how this "antikayfabe" stuff all works out.

LOL @ the Matt Hardy fanboys/girls. Well, the turncoats and the ones who think it was real.

Matt shouldn't have posted the message... keep us in suspense. You post that and it basically invalidates the mystery. Getting arrested and then posting a message so quickly? Yeah... ok... like anyone who really got arrested would then make a threat so fast.

So unwise move on Matt by posting, but other than that, this has been a pretty awesome way of taking advantage of what's happened.

For the record, I say Matt Hardy really was fired, but Vince will never hesitate to hire back people to make money. And I'm sure money heals a lot of wounds.

The ones who think it's real are the saddest. With all the empathy poured towards Matt, I can't totally blame the fanboys for feeling betrayed. He did cash in on all his sympathy...

...And yes, I don't get why people seem to think it's unreasonable to think that Matt was fired, and then rehired. I mean, not only has it happened before, but the response from the fans was OVERWHELIMING.

Vastardikai 07-12-2005 01:17 PM

That is very possible, but that's part of it. I think the goal of wrestling is to "Suspend Disbelief." That goal was accomplished last night.

Just John 07-12-2005 01:20 PM

So Matt wasn't really fired...interesting

Mabye there is hope D-X will come back and we will forever live in the attitude era.

The goal of wrestling is to entertain. How that is accomplished depends on who's doing it.

Dam straight, there's never been a better time to be a smark, or further more, a smark on a wrestling forum.

Seriously, this is entertaining as hell, and for the first time in several weeks I'm watching Raw with anticipation rather than the unusual notion of feeling obliged to watch.
