Muhammad Hassan's promo from the Smackdown tapings up on WWE.com
This segment will NOT be shown on TV, but they have posted the interview on WWE.com just click on Muhammad's face.
I just watched and IMO, probably the best promo I've heard in quite a while. |
If possible, could you sum it up?
|
Yeah, that was one of the best I've heard in a while. lol @ blaming Hurricane David on the Arabs.
|
If this was done in Canada, he'd probably say that they blame the Arabs for the NHL Lockout.
Or even the Montreal Screwjob. "In fact it was probably the Arabs who screwed Bret Hart and not Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels!" |
lol that would have been good.

Oly crap, that was awesome!
He talks about how he and Daivari were labeled as terrorists by a guy who's never met them. He pointed out how the NY Post writer wrote "Arabs in ski masks" did it... even tho if they wore ski masks, how could anyone know they were Arabs? He talks about how he's an Arab AMERICAN and yet he's persecuted simply because of his race. Everyone's ancestors are immigrants and came to America and fought for people's freedoms. But Hassan notes that everytime something happens, Arabs are blamed. Plane crash? Arabs. A bomb? Arabs. Blackout two summers ago? Arabs. Hurricane Dennis? Arabs. Crowd chants USA, and Hassan says that they can say what they want, but his name is Muhammad Hassan. He is an Arab American. But today, he is ashamed to be an American. It cuts off there. But that was an awesome promo and basically killed any fears I had that they'd turn his character into a hypocrite. He brings up a lot of great points, and the crowd boos him like idiots. There was even a sign that said "Get the hell out of America Hassan." Funny stuff, but definitely watch this promo. Hell, if anything, it's a perfect example of how to conduct a promo. :y: :y: :y: :y: :y: |
doh.. LK beat me to it... sorta. :p
|
Along with a recent Eddie promo, it is the best I have seen in a while.
|
Fan 1: Wow. Hassan is bringing up a lot of good points.
Fan 2: Let's chant U.S.A. to show our undying love for our country, because he is Arab and he hates America! Fan 1: Okay. *starts a U.S.A. chant* |
If you watch another version Daivari gets on the mic and while he is talking Hassan rips up the article and spits on it.

Kinda funny that his voice cracked when he said "IN SKI--in ski masks!!!"
|
Quote:
Hey Danny, what'd he say? :D |
Yeah he always cracks. He's probably worried that some idiot in the crowd would try and shoot him.
|
The last true patriot. :D
As the morons shout USA. |
I do like the "Arabs in ski masks" bit. :D
HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT THEY WERE ARABS? |

Americans don't care about First Amendment rights. As far as wrestling fans are concerned, America was founded by white people to escape the niggers and spics.
|
Minorities can only win championships uncleanly AKA Eddie guerro. I don't see why Rey is getting a push though I mean he's wearing a mask so he must be a terrorist.
|
Quote:
|
Are you sure? Who's that flying Through the sky?" and every one know you can some how fold reys mask and make the twin towers.
|
Plus Eddy's secret could reveal Rey is a terrorist :O
|
So, do I get fantasy points for this, or not?
|
prolly

You know me I always get entrances wrong......STAY IN THE BACK!
|
Haha... throw in the fact that the Mexicools, who are hispanic like Rey, are advocating a revolution to overthrow the whites (i.e. real Americans)--an act that's just like Lenin calling the Communists to rebel (and everyone knows that those damn Reds are terrorists), and it's indisputable that Rey's secret is that he's really Osama Bin Laden!!!
          |
Very good point made though, If Undertaker did and Druids came out and did the same thing the fans would be like "Awww how cute he prayed to satan to get people to strangle the terrorist"

I DEMAND THAT THEY YANK SMACKDOWN TOMRROW NIGHT. |

Might as well go all out and have Taker wear an Uncle Sam costume, ride a harley, call him the "All-American Bad-Ass" have him battle Hassan's stable The Axis of Evil and then beat him in a Battle for Democracy match with his new finisher "The ShocK & Awe."
|
Nah, call it "The Stars and Stripes" so it's more American. It looks like my mother was right about what UPN stood for... Unified Poopyheads Network.
|
I <3 Hassan!
|
This was AWESOME.
And UPN is not going to air this?!! BULLSHIT! |

Yeah, one of the best promos ever.
I love how the crowd chants USA toward Hassan. Nevermind the fact that he publicly says "I AM AN AMERICAN!" |
Quote:
Yeah, and I believe what made it so good is that he was probably speaking his mind rather than lines fed to him. |
Awesome stuff.
Ok Daviari says that last week you all saw on the tv that i was carried to the back by some people and you thought that they were Arabs, you don't know they you were but you still say they were arabs, he(Hassan) is an Arab and I am an Arab. Just once listen to me, listen to Hassan, we are americans and we two know what they wrote here (points to the article on floor) Hope that helps you out. |
Can I just say that I get goosebumps when I hear Hassan's music.
Not in the ring but he is definitely my number one guy. |
How can Hassan be a heel now? Amazingly enough, he was still getting booed for bringing up good points. He is a heel because the fans, quite simply, are morons. All of those idiots sitting in the crowd were morons. They obviously didn't hear Hassan say he was an Arab-AMERICAN, and therefore chanted "U.S.A.". One week, we cry fowl that Hassan's character is turning hypocrit. Now, less than a week alter, Hassan turns the hypocrisy onto the crowd, who are made out to be even bigger hyprocrits than we could believe possible.
Best promo in a long time, IMO. |
Quote:
|
Hassan now gets the hyprocritical idiotic anti-anti-American heat.
|
Do you think they'll show it on Velocity? Because, if I'm correct it was UPN who contacted WWE saying they didn't want Hassan on the show this week, but Velocity's on Spike.
|
No, because they have the Smackdown logo plastered all over the place in that segment. of course, they could easily say "footage taped for Smackdown but never allowed on the air...until now..."
|
Quote:
|
No shit.
|
I would love to ask the normal WWE fan why they boo whenever Daivari gets on the mic. They have no idea what he is saying, yet they still boo. Why?
|
Now that I've rewatched the promo again, it leaves me wondering.
What if that promo was meant to be a face turn, but the fans just wouldn't accept it? |
Is that viable?
|
To a certain extent, Hassan's future has always depened on crowd reaction.
By thw way I translated what Daviari said up there. |
Great promo.
Did anyone read what was on the parents site about the whole thing? |
That was awesome, let the shoots continue!

I don't want to offend any Americans posting here, but that promo made me very proud to be Canadian and not to be associated with the retards in that crowd
|
Quote:
Considering Canada's still got their knickers in a twist over BRet Hart, I don't think America's gonna be offended by you calling THEIR audience fanboys. |

That promo almost made me cry...
Maybe it's crazy, but everything he said...I'm not even American (I'm an Aussie), but I got really emotional with what he said.
Hassan is definitely my favourite wrestler now. Another thing that promo proved, more than anything: the fans are _______ :n: |
(Fanboys, what the fuck am I smoking?)
|

Stupid ____ing _____! God____! You're _____in' right!
In all seriousness, I'm cheering for Hassan now too. Not that I cheer or boo wrestlers like marks do, but I'm rootin' for him now. :) |

Also, if they wanted ratings, WWE would air this promo. But I guess they're not interested in that and will just fill that time up with some Diva bullshit. |
I've seen 2 of the best worked shoot within 3 days of each other
Great! just great |

Although personally I don't care about Bret Hart or the Survivor Series 97 incident (I honestly never did)... but as far as the average Canadian fan goes you hit it on the head... However when Hassan is cutting a promo like that berating the media and the RETARDS in that crowd just mindlessly chant USA...USA...USA even though Hassan CLEARLY SAYS he's an American, it would make me ashamed to be in that audience had I been. |
I would be more than ashamed. I'd be lynched. I'd be the guy up front cheering him.
|
Who was it that brought up the fact that the crowd chanted "USA!" one time during a match and nether of the 4 competitors were American?
|
Is there any way to d/load this to my desktop? Whenever I want to watch it again, it has to rebuffer...
|
I would love to be in that arena cheering for him, love to hear some remarks to me. Then I'll teel them I'm a British-Iranian, see what they say then.
|
They would call you an evil terrorist who hates freedom

Wonder what all the marks are going to think about this.
Showing clips from Thursday's SmackDown... on Wednesday!!! ZOMG |

Once again Vince has turned controversy into great TV. Or in this case, great internet.
|
How could the crowd not cheer for Muhammad Hassan after that, he is 100% correct, he was telling the truth, I guess we can rely on the "American" Crowd to boo Hassan because he is telling the truth/Arabian.
That promo made me hate America. :D |
Wow, what a promo. I love that. Fired right back at idiotic writers and the fans. Excellent stuff.
|
Woah, check out the heat Daivari got. jesus christ.
|
I wonder how the crowd would react to Hassan if Smackdown! were in another country like Canada...
|
See, this is my only problem with the Hassan gimmick so far. When he 'performs' in an arena not in the States he should play up to the local crowd and further berate his treatment in America and perhaps state he wished America was more like, for example, Canada. Kinda how Bret Hart was a heel only in the US and a face elsewhere back in the day.
Great promo though. |
