"Earl Hebner was fired by WWE Monday after allegedly selling merchandise without authorization.

Dave Hebner has NOT been fired although he has apparently been disciplined for being a part of the act.

Hebner had refereed most main events on PPV for the past decade. More as we get it."

Holy shit. Pretty surprising news.

On the whole Bret issue, Bret really never came off as having too much heat with Earl over the Survivor Series issue. Shame on Earl for swearing on his kids and it being a lie, but the man has a family to support.

Beyond Bret & montreal, when I think of Hebner I think of the Saturday Night's Main Event where Dibiase brought in Dave Hebner to give Hogan the fast count against Andre the Giant. The fact that there were twin Hebners wasn't widely known so Hogan cut this insane promo about Dibiase paying for cloning or plastic surgery or something.

When it was obvious there was two refs AND Andre handed over the title to Dibiase, the crowd lost it.

Good times.

Well there isn't anything about this on wwe.com so............we'll see.

though I sorta doubt Earl got fired, no matter how many wrestling websites this news is on.

Now he can join Matt Hardy on his crusade and ref all his 'unofficial' matches! And if some of the other released talent joins him...it'll be like the nWo all over again! Except with fired wrestlers!

I hope this leads to another referee strike. Best referee related angle ever.

"We have heard from several readers that Earl Hebner and his brother used to run a wrestling merchandise and patio furniture store out of Richmond, Va. that sold replica belts, CDs, PPV chairs and more. This could be a possible reason for his firing. We do know that he was released and Dave, his twin brother, is under investigation. Keep in mind that Dave was in charge of merchandising sales at local arena's for house shows so this could be a much larger deal than first thought."

There's an interesting combination for a store. Patio furniture and wrestling merchandise.

Also, if this is something Dave & Earl are going to be fired for, they were probably doing more than just selling licensed products without permission. There's a good possibility that they were skimming merchandise to sell at their store.

So they really are EVIL twins.

Next week Vince will come down and cut a promo on somthing like ass kissing . Earl will hop the barracade on the right . Chop block Vince in his bad leg. Then Dave will come from the left. Get in there and put the crossface on Vince. Then like 60 security guards will come down and all we will see is Earl and Dave on the bottom of the pile biting ankles.
