Kurt Angle: The Complete Package
 

Has there ever been a better all rounder in the wwe than Kurt Angle.

Apart from being an absolute in-ring god, he has fantastic mic skills, a bucket load of charisma and knows how to create a character that the crowd can respond (just watch any raw from 2000-01).

Although other attributes that other wrestlers posses like the Rocks charisma or Austin’s character may help them in dwarfing Kurt Angles appeal as a wrestler but I don’t believe no wrestlers surpasses Kurt in all aspects that make a quality wrestle

Defiantly. If he can last 10 more years I would call him the greatest of all time.

Kurt Angle can have a 4 or 5 star match with anybody on the roster imo.He doesn't need the 'right' opponent.

There are very few even close to him as far as Wrestling ability AND Mic skills... I'd say Jericho, HBK, and Eddie are the only ones near his level of being the Complete Package

I've been watching Kurt Angle since his debut; saw his first match against Shawn Stasiak, saw his undefeated streak be broken by the Rock, saw him win his first WWE Championship. Kurt Angle didn't become my favorite wrestler really until he lost the WWF Title back to the Rock at No Way Out 2001. He put on an incredibly competitive match, and got out of three Rock Bottoms, which shocked me because I was only fifteen in 2001. The next night on RAW, he officially began the "i'm Kurt and Angle and i'm fucking crazy" gimmick by holding the ankle lock on Scotty 2 Hotty until he broke it. Ever since then, he's just gotten better and better, and there only a select few that are on the same level with him.

^Yeah Tornado, but if you watch his matches, he works hard on every single move that he does. You can tell that 100% of his effort is being shown when hes in the ring. Thats why his matches are incredible.

I'm pretty sure his streak was ended by Tazz at Tazz's Royal Rumble debut.

I never said he doesnt give 100% everynight, all I said was it would be harder for him to get a good match out of people like Big Show etc.

Big Show is a bit of an unfair example since that guy is HUGE.And at Backlash 2000 i thought they had a good match.

Maybe the best wrestler live today, with no offense intended to HHH (I hate when Flair calls him the best wrestler alive today) Anyways, those of you with complains be happy you don't have stupid friends who think Ken Shamrock and Dean Malenko were better and could beat Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle is without question the current greatest wrestler. Is he the best of all time? No Ric Flair still has that. I realise how great Angle is, but at the end of the day he has only been wrestling for 5 years. It's incredible how much he has done in 5 years, I don't think he needs another 10 years, I would say if he last to the end of the decade he will surpase Flair, but in the meantime...no...I can't put him over The Nature Boy.

Tornado's point was the Angle Invetational (in which he fights nobodys) is all a part of an angle, also it should be noted Kurt Angle the man is VERY different then Kurt Angle the character. Angle is actually nothing short of a gentleman.

When you talk about legendary status, longevity is a necessary credential. All the other legends put it, he has to as well. I believe no one has ever had a superior in ring prowess to Kurt Angle. He is one of the top ten mic men of all time. But if he can not make at least 5 to 10 more years he will just be "one of the best" instead of "THE" best.

No, I think it makes Angle more of a legend since he done all that he has done in only 5 or 6 years.

That makes him a legend and the best.

I will be the first to admit that it is highly impressive that he has accomplished what he has in such a short time it doesn't change the fact that you need at LEAST a decade in the business before you can even be considered legendary. I remember reading in Flairs book he said something to the extent that if Kurt could last a decade he would consider the greatest of all time. And if Naitch is calling him the best, I damn sure will too.

Anyway, yeah Kurt is the best in the WWE, bar none. He's also definately in my top 5 greatest wrestlers of all time. He's been a consistent performer, puts on good matches with everyone, and is a professional. I read in Angle's book that he would prefer all of his matches to end fairly, win or lose, without any cheating/interference booked into the match. He sells for everyone and when he is called upon, he is good at putting people over. In terms of in-ring ability, he reminds me of Bret Hart. In terms of psychology and ability to connect to the crowd he reminds me of Hulk Hogan(and yes, Mr Steele that is a GOOD THING). In terms of charisma, he reminds me of Ric Flair. Angle is the total package. He is the greatest assest to WWE right now. Greater than HHH, greater than Orton, greater than Batista, greater than Undertaker. He is THE go-to guy for Vince.

From the fact that Kurt Angle is arguably the best all-around performer in the history to the fact that The One corerctly pointed out that he would have to do it for at least another decade to surpass Flair tyo JamesSteele's Angle bombardment ...just some good stuff in here. For the record, Samoa Joe is horribly overrated. He's supposed to be this shoot type fighter yet he delivers some of the weakest most pussified looking forearms, punches, and kicks I've ever seen. I am actually embarassed for the guys who have to sell that crap.

Other stuff about him irritiates me as well, but that's the big one.

I blame that for how TNA books him. He should be recognized for using the Strong Style, not some kind of MMA style. He put on some classics in RoH, but his work(so far) in TNA hasn't been as good(including the Alex Shelly match and the Triple Threat). Unfortunately, Joe is a guy that needs a good opponet to really shine.

But that is Joe's biggest problem. He isn't a good wrestler, he is a good mirror. In RoH he had no end of good workers to get in the ring with, not that TNA is lacking, but TNA has a different style. Joe can't carry his own, he is more of the reflection of the other guy. Other then the most recent Triple Threat Match between Daniels, Styles, and Joe...I don't remember a time when Joe was in the ring with someone and the other guy had to step up and deliver a great performance to keep up with Joe. It's what I like to call the Al Snow Effect. Al Snow is a great worker, put him in the ring with a talent and he shines like a mother fucking, in with a dud and he bombs. Luckly for Joe he hasn't run across any duds yet..but wait...just wait.
