Official No Mercy thread-10/09/05

It's 7:15 PM and there isn't even a thread for it yet? I guess I'm the only one ordering it?

Jaton 10-09-2005 07:32 PM

October 9, 2005
Batista will take on a so-called new and improved Eddie Guerrero for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy Oct. 9.

Guerrero claims he's more about compassion instead of manipulation and looks forward to a great match with Batista, a champion he fully admires.

The rivalry between Randy Orton and Undertaker comes to a head at No Mercy as well, when Randy and father Cowboy Bob Orton meet the Deadman in a Handicap Casket Match.

Orton has been a thorn in Undertaker's side since coming to SmackDown in the 2005 Draft Lottery; after defeating the Deadman at SummerSlam, Orton looks to end his legacy once and for all this Sunday night.

JBL has fallen on tough times, and enlisted the services of Jillian to fix his image. JBL defeated Rey Mysterio in a Tag Team Match last week on Friday Night SmackDown; can JBL take another step in rebuilding when they meet one-on-one at No Mercy, or will the 619 conquer the former WWE Champion?

Since winning the United States Championship from Orlando Jordan at SummerSlam, Chris Benoit has made a habit of making the former champion tap out in less than a minute. All the while, Christian and Booker T sat on the sidelines, waiting for their opportunity while Jordan squandered chance after chance at regaining the championship. Their wait ends this Sunday night, as Benoit defends the gold against all three men in a Fatal Four Way Match.

Since losing the WWE Tag Team Championship to L.O.D. at the Great American Bash, MNM has tried unsuccessfully several times to regain the gold. This Sunday night, MNM has a chance at a small measure of revenge when they meet L.O.D. and Christy Hemme in a Six-Person Tag Team Match.

After throwing out an open challenge two weeks ago on Friday Night SmackDown, Simon Dean was overwhelmed and defeated by a debuting Bobby Lashley. Simon gets a chance to even the score when he faces Lashley again at No Mercy.

This past week on WWE.com, Hardcore Holly threw out a challenge to Mr. Kennedy for a match at No Mercy, with Hardcore wanting to shut him up once and for all. Kennedy accepted the challenge on Byte This!, telling Holly that he has freedom of speech, and no one will ever shut him up. Kennedy cost Holly his match with Sylvan this week on Friday Night SmackDown; can the undefeated newcomer keep his record perfect when he squares off with the Alabama Slamma this Sunday night?

Also at No Mercy, Nunzio will defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Juventud. Juventud won a Cruiserweight Battle Royal on this weekend's Velocity to earn the opportunity, and gets his chance to bring the gold home to the Mexicools this Sunday night.

ThruTheWire 10-09-2005 07:57 PM

I can't watch, my satellite's down.

Jaton 10-09-2005 07:59 PM

That's unfortunate. I don't think it'll be too bad.

DMI 10-09-2005 08:05 PM

im expecting an undertaker pbp from you jaton.

please

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:06 PM

pbp?

Loose Cannon 10-09-2005 08:06 PM

lol, there is a PPV tonight. wow, no clue

Chavo Classic 10-09-2005 08:07 PM

Four minutes in and I've decided that I made the right decision not ordering

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:12 PM

They're so avoiding an MNM vs. LOD rematch for the titles. This match is rather pointless.

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:15 PM

Okay, I just saw the worst attempt at a hurricanrana ever. And WHY is Christie doing the fucking doomsday device?

Chavo Classic 10-09-2005 08:19 PM

What?

This match isn't for the titles then? What a waste of time.

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:25 PM

It was MNM and Melina vs. LOD and Christy.

Bobby Lashley almost pulled off a badass move on Simon Dean. SImon was sitting in the corner of the ring, and Lashley grabbed him by the feet and pulled him straight up onto his shoulders from his feet. Too bad there was too much momentum and he fell, it would've been badass.

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:29 PM

Fatal Fourway time.

Yeah this is sad. 15 replies in an hour. hah.

DMI 10-09-2005 08:51 PM

play by play

Jaton 10-09-2005 08:55 PM

I'll try to. Since you gave me birthday rep and all. :D

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:27 PM

Casket match time.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:33 PM

Druids are bringing out the casket.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:37 PM

For color commentary, Deadman Inc, my friend just said Undertaker should cornrow his hair and come back as Hip Hop Undertaker.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:41 PM

Undertaker tries throwing Randy into the casket, Randy never makes it in. Few more punches, Bob Orton gets thrown in and immediately jumps back out. Randy throws Taker into the steps, Undertaker falls against the guard rail and some kid pats his head.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:44 PM

Undertaker is in the casket. The Ortons are trying to close it. No success. Undertaker hits Old School on Randy. Undertaker does the flat liner on Randy, then catches a punch from Bob and sets him up for Old School. Randy stops it. Kind of uneventful, no?

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:44 PM

Double Superplex on taker. Looked pretty neat.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:57 PM

Taker hits Randy in the back with a chair, knocks him into the casket. Puts a triangle choke on Bob and makes him pass out and puts him in. Tries to close the lid but Randy fights out. All 3 are in the casket. Randy and Taker end up out of the casket. Randy tries to put Undertaker in the casket but gets confused when he realizes that Bob is still in the casket. Taker hits a low blow. Last Ride on Randy. Taker sets up Randy for a tombstone and tells the ref to open the casket, Bob shoots taker with a fire extenguisher while Randy hits the RKO. Bob attempts to roll him into the casket, Taker grabs his neck and goes for a choke slam, but Randy hits him with the extinguisher. He falls into the casket, Randy tries to close it, Taker pulls him in. They both go into the casket and the lid is closed. Bob is confused shitless. They both stand up, Randy hits taker with a chair and closes the casket.

Jaton 10-09-2005 09:57 PM

There's your play by play. You owe me for typing it all out.

DMI 10-09-2005 09:59 PM

tyvm :'(

Savio 10-09-2005 10:00 PM

*elbow*

Jaton 10-09-2005 10:01 PM

Okay, the Ortons have drenched the casket with gasoline. Randy lights a zippo and sets the casket on fire.

Jaton 10-09-2005 10:14 PM

Juvy Driver..new CW champ.

Savio 10-09-2005 10:40 PM

Eddie accidently hit the ref

Savio 10-09-2005 10:44 PM

Missed frog splash, Batista counters and wins.

Batsu 10-09-2005 10:46 PM

Crap, there was actually a PPV tonight? WTF

Jaton 10-09-2005 10:50 PM

It wasn't insanely bad. About what I would expect from a SD PPV.

Vietnamese Crippler 10-09-2005 11:19 PM

Not even one page

Joey Slugs 10-09-2005 11:29 PM

wow. the PPV must of blown hard. i'd rather save my money for "Bound for Glory"

Oh. How original of them! :|

Jaton 10-09-2005 11:37 PM

Yeah, that's never happened.

Nervous Ferret 10-09-2005 11:38 PM

Who won the Fatal 4 way

Nervous Ferret 10-09-2005 11:38 PM

Jaton 10-09-2005 11:40 PM

PullMyFinger 10-10-2005 01:36 AM

There was a PPV tonight?!?!

Corkscrewed 10-10-2005 01:47 AM

ROFL at only 43 miserable replies to this thread. That's pretty sad.

Funky Fly 10-10-2005 02:35 AM

I forgotted it was today. Probably wouldn't have cared for any of it except Eddie/Batista, the 4 way and Lashley I guess.

Nowhere Man 10-10-2005 07:34 AM

Yikes, I think this was the first time in my years as a wrestling fan that a WWE ppv has gone by and I didn't realize it. And that's including back when I only watched WCW.

Funky Fly 10-10-2005 07:39 AM

Yeah, pretty sad day for WWE.

On an unrelated note, Helloween is the shit. \m/

Chavo Classic 10-10-2005 07:42 AM

Best match of the night, Jaton?

Gone Mad 10-10-2005 08:47 AM

LOL I forgot too, even when this guy at my job yesterday reminded me it was on. Wow, what happened that made us all forget?

And what about the Kennedy match?

..Obligitory Kennedy.

PorkSoda 10-10-2005 09:36 AM

I thought twice about ordering this as well. It was decent, not the worst PPV in the world, but it could have been better.

I think Hardcore hurt his ribs in the match with Kennedy. He was favoring them after the top rope finisher and the camera got a 1 second shot and there was blood coming out of his ribs. FUN!

Oh yeah, Simon Dean had to eat 20 double cheeseburgers cause he lost to Lashley.

Londoner 10-10-2005 10:00 AM

So what were the results?Did Eddie win?

Loose Cannon 10-10-2005 10:15 AM

Anybody else get neg repped by Remy Red and have him draw a line across the page so your page stretches out?

Innovator 10-10-2005 10:44 AM

4 way was probably the best match

The whole PPV was just kinda there, didn't have the feel to it

Innovator 10-10-2005 10:45 AM

Might have been because I kept flipping between it and the Yankees

Impact! 10-10-2005 10:46 AM

lol

Loose Cannon 10-10-2005 10:51 AM

don't encourage him

CharismaInjection 10-10-2005 10:55 AM

It was better than Unforgiven.

Except no match can live up to the Hardy-Edge cage match. But other than that, I preffered it to Unforgiven.

RemyRed - what an asshole

RGWhat316 10-10-2005 03:06 PM

I did my usual last night, when a group of us pitch in a few bucks at someone's house, and we order the ppv. It was an alright show, but not that great. No RAW run-in.

Bobby Lashley had one of the more interesting moments of the night when he did a move to Simon Dean, and immediately tried to pick him up, but Lashley had too much momentum and fell right down.

Orton lit the casket on fire was one of the more memorable moments. Juventud won the cruiser title. And Batista/Eddie ended kind of lackluster. Eddie missed the frog splash, and Batista used the spinebuster to win. They actually shook hands afterwards, but that was all.

Team Sheep 10-10-2005 04:36 PM

Shame there was so little interest for this, I thought it was a pretty decent PPV. It was better than what the card looked like anyway.

That Lashley move was badass, too bad he didn't hit it.

Nervous Ferret 10-10-2005 08:52 PM

LOL reminds me of when Jabba used to rep me with huge 1034X3493253 pixel sized pictures of granny porn that stretched my page for miles

DominateR 10-13-2005 05:22 PM

I bet they were saving all the GOOD match ideas for Survivor Series, to give them a better card against what RAW could be offering since RAW will technically be getting 2 PPV appearances in less than a month with Taboo Tuesday slated for Nov. 1st, and they haven't put up when in Nov. survivor series will be yet this year but I wouldn't expect it to be any later than the 27th.
