Kid Kash was originally scheduled to work this past weekends SmackDown! brand house shows but was pulled because of a dress code infraction. Kash was at the TV tapings last week and was present during Vince McMahon' meeting about being late and the dress code. Kash was apparently seen by agents at the airport in jeans and a t-shirt at 5AM. Kash was removed because of this and replaced with Nunzio. Kash has been sent back to Deep South Wrestling and there are actually some who believe his job could be in danger because of this. Managements feeling is that there are loads of other guys who would love to be a part of the main roster and would be willing to follow the 'rules'.

Kash is one of the best free talents out there, and because he disn't wear a fucking suit, in a place where I bet only 3 people knew who he was (2 of them probably be fellow WWE employees)...ah fuck it...fuck them.

Dumbass rule or not, it's still a rule in an establishment that has been successful for a very long time now. If he has a problem with the rules, maybe there's somebody he can talk to to try and change them (probably wouldn't be able to do this alone, but maybe if other people agreed that it was a dumb rule), but blantantly breaking them so soon after a meeting that specifically said not to was a dumb move on his part.

The dress code rule probably isn't even one that the WWE cares THAT much about, but it is probably used more of a device to see who is a 'team player' and who is...well, Kid Kash.

I admire his abilities in the ring, but this is the big leagues. This is where everybody wants to be in the field of professional wrestling. He's fortunate enough to have an opportunity, and he should be smart enough to not blow it on something so miniscule.

While I agree that it is stupid, I can't help but have some sympathy for him. He IS a really good talent, and I'd hate to see it wasted by him not following their dumbass dress code. I mean shit, at least cuss out HHH to get fired or something. I don't know. ;\

C'mon Jaton, there has to be a point at SOME time during your wrestling enjoyment where you become desensitized to all of the talents not being treated fairly. This is a fairly common thing. Kid Kash should be aware of things like this. If somebody told me I could have my dream job, but I'd just have to wear a suit at all times, I'd fucking do it in a heartbeat. No sympathy from me.

WWE can't enforce dress codes outside of their TV shows. Technically, they can't even enforce it backstage because wrestling talent are not employees. They are all classed as "independent contractors". And don't even argue that they are employees because they aren't. Had this arguement here before and people will get embarrassed if they argue they are employees.

Basically WWE is holding guys by the balls in that they know they are the only place you can work and make a good regular income. If another company was around, this rule wouldn't be.

Do you think it really effects drawing power? Yeah I'm really gonna pay more money to see the Undertaker, Tito Ortiz or Oscar De La Hoya if they are wearing suits.

I wish they put as much effort into their TV product as they do to stupid fucking dress codes.

But for wearing normal clothes in an airport when you work for a wrestling company? Even I wouldn't bother wearing a goddamn suit. Rules or no rules, it's ridiculous. They can't enforce it in any legal sense, but since they can affect how and where you're working, they really DO affect it. The issue is, since they're contracted and not emlpoyees, they don't even have the right to fight it (IIRC).

I do not see what the big uproar is about here. He was being a complete moron at the time and will have to face the consequences. Any other company with a dress code woud have done something similar, it's called defiance. If he follows the rules from now on he should be fine.

The point is, it's a rule that the company made, and any employee of that company has to follow the rule (as long as the rule itself is a legit one, not like revert to another religion of course). If they don't want to, simple as that..they can leave. Do I like that code? No. Does Kid Kash like it? Obviously not. However, the rules are the rule.

They're mad with power because they're the only major US wrestling promotion. It has nothing to do with people getting up at 5 AM to catch a 7 AM flight, or even professionalism.

The dress code seems like the thing least likely to ruin people, and if they cannot handle the workload, there are less stressful professions to choose from.

I don't agree with it, but it's a copout to complain that it's unfair to expect people to follow the rules or be professional, especially when you ciite "time"or "just woke up" issues.

Independent contractors or not, the WWE can make rules and put language in the contracts of these guys. I'm sure if the WWE REALLY couldn't legally do it, someone from the lower card would've tried to sue by now.

Regardless of what anyone says, the WWE is a company and with just like any other company, if you don't follow the rules...you pay the price. If Kid Kash knew about the rules and didn't follow it, then that's his fault. If he doesn't like the rules, then he can go back to TNA. And if he decides he hates TNA and the indy scene, then he can do something else for a living.

I agree with what most people are saying. It's a rule. You follow it. Not a hard thing to do. Kash is the one at fault. I don't personally care what these guys wear but as a company obviously having your workers dress in more of a professional manner makes perfect sense.

WWE don't care they can find another Kid Kash somewhere else. If it was someone else worth it they'd let it slide

Yes. Some rules suck. But they are fucking rules. And they are rules for a reason.

I know you'd like to think "fuck what people think", but you have to understand that under all of the smoke and mirrors, World Wrestling Entertainment is a BUSINESS. The public is what matters.

Maybe it's just me, but it would appear that the WWE is making no bones about their product being fake any longer. They lost that war a long time ago. And if you look around at non-wrestling things where wrestlers appear, it would seem that they are trying to make their workers more presentable to the masses.

Suits have always been a sign of respect. That's exactly what I believe the WWE is looking for. Of course, there's no way for me to know this, but it makes perfect sense to have a dress code to me.

No. It won't dismiss or alter the image. Either you accept them as actors or not. Saying "don't Try This At Home" doesn't actually stop kids from imitating what they see on TV, slapping an "M" on a video game doesn't stop kids from getting them.

It's a superficial gesture to dismiss (By your logic) something which they encourage (By their own logic, by action, by fact). It's not going to work, and would certainly make a large portion of the roster look funnier than if Helms dressed up in his Hurri-suit for every flight.
