I bet Sadistic was front row center for this event.

THAT IS THE GREATEST SHOW EVER!

LOL
|
Too bad none of these idiots succeeded in removing themselves from the gene pool. :n:
|
IWA! IWA! IWA!
But seriously..what stupid bitch takes their kids to a show like that. The ad clearly stated 'barbed wire' or 'deathmatches' or something like that. |
LOL only you would be the one bitching about the parent.
|
It's like taking your kid to a porno then complaining about the sex and nudity.
|
But how do you know that mom knew what the wrestling show actually was?
It sounds like the promoter is one of your old school sleazy promoters that didn't actually promote that it was going to violent. The mom probably saw an ad that said "IWA Wrestling Coming to Hickville, U.S.A. on October 22." |
When you place an AD in the newspaper, they usually charge by the letter or the length. Which would be most cost effective for a indy promoter...putting an AD that says "IWA Wrestling This Weekend!" or "IWA Wrestling With Barbwire, Light Bulbs, and Just All Around Idiots This Weekend!"
|
Indy wrestling ads aren't like that. Indy wrestling advertisments always have some sort of draw and that is always mentioned. The ad would go something like "IWA Wrestling Coming to Hickville, U.S.A. on October 22 featuring BARBED WIRE BOARD DEATHMATCH! and FLAMING TABLE LIGHT TUBE BLOOD BATH! Prepare to be shocked!"

Oh so you've been to every single indy wrestling event and have seen every single ad that is ever ran for indy cards?

Mmm, I can't wait to see another FLBCBWB Match! (Flourescent Light Bulbs, Concrete Blocks and Whiffle Bats, OH MY!)
|
I don't give a fuck what was promoted to be honest. If she didn;t like the violence then she should have got up and left. Why did she ruin everyone else's night? People there wanted to see the violence and she ruined it. If you go to a play and you don't like it do you call the police and say "this play is shit, shut it down". no you don't you just leave.
God I hate these PTA soccer moms. When her son grows up crazy and kills someone you can be sure it will be wrestling's fault. Give me a fucking break. |
So how do you know that if one person went expecting it to be an actual wrestling show, that no one else there expected the same thing? If the show was promoted wrong, you will get fans that are expecting a resemblence of a real wrestling event. Not a bunch of idiots shredding their skin for a cheap thrill.
|
Afterall the promoter was promoting a...get this...WRESTLING EVENT. So when people come to see this "Wrestling event" and get nothing but guys commiting nothing more than assault with a deadly weapon, SOMEONE is going to get upset over it. At least this woman did something about it.
|
Folks, folks. Let's all calm down and remember that Darwinism will do it's job and at the end of the day, these guys WILL get Darwin awards.
|
I remember going to the cinema once. Advertised was a "NAIL BITING THRILLER THAT WILL HAVE YOU AT THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT". I wasn't biting my nails or at the edge of my seat. I didn't call the police, I left.
|
Yeah well, you're a moron. You should've sued for false advertisement. I still plan on suing Snickers over quite a few things. I have yet to become a WWE Tag Team champion, have yet to have an NFL team named after me, have yet to become President, and hunger still happened to me. It may have been a month later, but the underlying point is: it still happened.

LOL WTF.
There is a difference between going to see a bad movie and going to see a bunch of retards slaughtering each other with glass, barbwire, and cinder blocks. Have some god damn common sense. |
Botton line is the stupid soccer mom should have left. The police didn't need to be called.
|
No, she should've left as soon as it started happening. From what I understand, she sat there almost the whole time?
|
Quote:
And I guess no one has a right to complain because ya know because that kind of stuff is legal. |
Ohhhh I got the perfect idea for a wrestling match!
I'll promote a 6-way Deathmatch where the object is to literally cause your opponent to DIE! And it'd be great because no one should call the cops over it because they paid to watch it! AHAHAHAHAHHAHA I'm smart! Move over Vince McMahon, because I'm going to become the greatest wrestling promoter EVER! |

Okay so I can just go down the street and slash my neighbor with broken glass and get away with it?

Naturally.

You don't actually know what it said? And yet, earlier you brought up the fact that they did advertise lightbulbs or barbed wire? What you meant to say is you don't know, but you want to blame the mother because you're a desperate fanboy, right? :) |
I don't know what the advertising said. No one here does. I'm assuming it was like every ultra violent indy ad I've ever seen.
By the way I'm not defending the promotion. I wouldn't go to a show like this. I'm just pissed off at the stupid PTA mom. |

And you can say you're not defending them, but your justifications, assumptions and attacks do exactly that. Not only does it look like you're protecting your precious garbage wrestling, but that is the actual result of your actions. But thanks for admitting you don't know shit about the scenario and then condemning a woman for circumstances you've confessed to not know the full story of. IT makes you look even smarter. |
I will explain everything to you guys, and hopefully you will understand the human race perhaps a little better...
Most people don't have the decency to just leave when they witness something that offends them. Instead of just packing up and leaving, most people will start to become self-righteous and want to pretend to have power. They want to dole out punishment to those they think merit it. Most people have this intense desire to be the type of authoritative figure that punishes people. So they'll call the cops on people for the stupidest things, especially if they have nothing to do with what's going on. People love to butt in. And they love to pretend that they're doing others a favor by bringing others to "justice" when they themselves are offended. If Howard Stern offends you, for instance, the right thing would be to turn off the radio and listen to something else. The thing that most people under that circumstance would do, however, is to call up the cops, the FCC, and pray to God that something bad happens to Howard Stern. Beacuse if it offends them, then it must offend everybody else. People tend to have the notion that their opinion is the right opinion, and that, obviously, everybody else must share that opinion too, since it's so right and all. And that, my friends, is why the mother just didn't up and leave quietly, like she should have. That's why she called the cops and wasted taxpayers' money on a wrestling event of all things. |
It really is bliss, isn't it?
Quote:
I'm sure, however, that unlike Sadistic, you were in the stands and heard the woman try and enforce "moral highground." That redeems your statements about her motives turned into ignorant generalisations and stereotypes. |
with the police having to shut down the show all i can think of is maybe they had an athletice commission against that shit like they do here in VA
me personally i would love to go to a show like that cause i order all the damn japanese hardcore ppv's and i love the shit |
holy ass batman, I think we have the next big thing in wrestling!

As fas as advertisement goes i believe this was IWA deep souths yearly king of the deathmatch tournament. Might be wrong though.
|
....uh let me see if I get this straight...
Woman offended by content of wrestling show...cops come...the POLICE deside to shut the show down...owner hiding in bushes... Sadistic isn't defending the promotion...just dumping all the blame in thw lap of the mom. KK thinks garbage wrestling is well...garbage. TerranRich hates moms. I don't care since I don't watch them, and am confused why a promotion that I bet maybe only two people on this board have ever seen a single match from manages to get 2 pages of comments from everyone and...their mom...pardon the pun. Is that more or less where we are at? |

I saw a "King of the Deathmatches" event advertised for IWA Midsouth, but it was a different time and location so that's out...
I've found nothing on the actual existence of Deep South, does anyone have any more information? |
I don't know if anyone has said this, so allow me.
Remember recently where some poor Indy worker fucked up a suicide dive, cracked his head opened, and died? I do. It was an accident. Unfortunately, it happens. What's going to happen when one of these fucktards tries to jumps off a balcony, fucks up, and kills himself. Or when someone gashes a major vein and bleeds to death? It's hard to say it's an accident when they are openly and purposely doing it to each other. This shit is an accident waiting to happen. This accident, while an obvious waste of human life, will also be all the fuel someone needs to start a new campaign against wrestling. And for what? Because some fucktard didn't have the talent to actually wrestle. And don't even get me started on the fact that this shit has become somewhat "accepted" and kids aspire to do this stupid shit now instead of actually wrestle. |

I'm not really concerned with the loss of human life. Far as I'm concerned, it's a positive thing if the greatest thing these guys give us is their abscence in the gene pool. If someone wants to waste their life on this shit, who cares, but the damage it does to wrestling is undeniable, and the damge it could do to wrestling would be major. |
Quote:
If I had kids with me at a wrestling show, and glass started being shattered into the audience, i'd do the same thing she did. |

Just so you guys know, I hate garbage wrestling, hate it with a passion, but I'm the type of person that will not mind if it continues to exist, as long as I'm not there to see it. |
Quote:
1. They are breaking a law or laws? 2. Deceptive advertising did lead her to believe that it might not be garbage wrestling, didn't expect shattered glass to be flying into the audience, and thought that this constituted endangerment? 3. The cops were actually justified to shut them down? They did, after all, shut them down. Now I know all police are evil, just like all soccer moms want to censor the world, but is it possible in this one case they might have been in some way justified, meaning she was in the right to make a call? For someone who hates garbage wrestling so much, you are going out of your way to pretend that there are no grounds to believe that this was in some way justified, while the fact that the cops didn't just leave would indicate a strong chance there was something going on. I don't get it. If this was some evil nazi censorship persecution PC soccer mom thing, why would they shut it down? Why not charge her with a nuissance call and leave? Oh, are the cops soccer moms too? Part of the tinfoil hat PC soccer mom nazi black helicopter conspiracy? Explain, man, instead of reiterating this asinine censorship crap, give us a tangible reason to believe that this was the sum total of the issue. Honestly, I don't give a shit if Garbage wrestling goes on. I don't really care if they all go out and kill themselves and take all their moronic fans with them, it'd be like chlorine in the gene pool. However, Garbage wrestling crosses some lines that might not even be legal in a lot of places. Boxing is tightly regulated under certain purviews. UFC is similarly regulated. Pro wrestling is usually ignored under the notion that it is faked. Even then, there are restrictions in some states on pro wrestling in terms of precautions. And that's not even getting into the fun of people smashing each other with lightbulbs, that's the WWE. WCW. Or any mom and pop indie fed. This is a whole 'nother ballpark, and may have broken town, state or (unlikely) federal laws. Or, she may be a nazi soccer mom, but we really don't know any of the context behind it. |
I hate her, I was there and they shut it down before the rotating flaming razor cage of death.

These kinds of promoters and especially these kinds of shows are nothing but a black eye on wrestling. They have every right to operate, but I definitely don't feel too bad for them when they get shut the fuck down, even if it on a technicality. I actually hope the cops arrested the guy or at least confiscated the profits. |
They may have done exactly that.
Or she may have had some solid grounds. And yeah, most states I've look at require permits, insurance (Or something similar), a certain number of emergency units (Usually in the form of paramedics), whatever. Quite frankly, if they were doing anything that broke the law, they really shouldn't be doing it in the first place, so yeah (I agree with you) no tears shed over this bullshit. Though if she knew what IWA entailed, and brought her kids, she needs to be shot. And if they advertised violence, barbed wire and death matches, she needs to be shot. There are any number of reasons this could be legit, and the police certainly did shut it down for a reason (Though I doubt they got them on a technicality if they disregarded the woman as hysterical), but it could be something simple. It'd be wise for garbage wrestlers especially to run these things by the book. A few promotions up here were shut down for shit like permits and safety code violations. The humiliation of being essentially shut down by the FIRE DEPARTMENT has to be brutal (I read about a case where the fire dept in like Orange Mass or somewhere near there were the ones who shut down a promotion's show...). If you're going to be stupid, you deserve what you get. It's not a shame that this shit was shut down, because the ones closest to the line ought to be the ones careful not to jump over. |
 at the promoter hiding in the bushes
|
Ya know, if the promoter was hiding in the bushes, doesn't that tell you that the event itself was pretty damn shady? If he had all the paperwork and everything approve, why would he need to hide? If he was guilty of something, why would he hide? Couldn't he just address the authorities and show them whatever was needed to prove that they weren't doing anything criminal?

I really think these kind of promotions should take the word wrestling out of their name and replace it with the word garbage.I'm not joking either, it's false advertising if they advertise it as wrestling. And i agree with what corkscrewed said. |

Well all I can say is that everyone has had some valid points in this argument, but what sticks out the most to me is that the person writing the article from the original post ADMITS he is biased against this kind of thing. So with him being biased, it's very likely that the article itself isn't entirely truthful, or at the very least, over-exaggerated.
I think calling the cops is a bit overboard, and agree that she should have just taken her kids and left. Do you think anyone calls the cops on the WWE when someone gets busted open, hit with a sledge hammer, thrown off the entrance ramp into electrical shit, or dropped off the top of a cage onto some thumbtacks? I seriously doubt it. |
You mean to say you think the same level of disregard is present within the WWE and minor "Hardcore" federations?

The difference between something which is mainstream wrestling, viewed as safe (Though the Hart family would argue) tends to run in the realm of "blatantly fake," or stuff people know to be fake. Hell, I've had people who don't watch wrestling ask me why wrestlers blade (not in those words, but still). The plunge into electrical circuitry was a lovely light show, but the WWE obviously faked it, and even if they botched it, they have paramedics standing by. We don't even know if the lightbulbfest had paramedics, and that's obviously more "extreme." |
Locals called the cops on WCW during the nWo invasion, the time Nash tossed Rey like a dart into the truck. WCW was not shut down that night... interesting how that worked out. Maybe WCW weren't doing anything illegal that night
