Official Survivor Series Thread November 27, 2005

Brands collide as teams of five strive to survive
November 27, 2005

The recent rivalry between RAW and SmackDown will come to a bitter head on Thanksgiving weekend, as the 19th annual Survivor Series serves as the stage for one of the biggest battles in sports-entertainment history.
After SmackDown and RAW traded attacks on each other's home turf, Eric Bischoff challenged Theodore Long to settle the score in a 5-on-5 Classic Survivor Series Match. Long accepted the challenge and the match was set for Nov. 27.
On the Nov. 7 edition of RAW, Bischoff announced that World Tag Team Champions Big Show & Kane and team captain Shawn Michaels were his first three team members. Later that night, Carlito defeated Shelton Benjamin to earn the fourth spot. Later on, WWE.com announced that Chris Masters was named as the fifth member of the team. That same week on Friday Night SmackDown, Long announced that his quintet would be captained by World Heavyweight Champion Batista. It was later announced that joining The Animal would be Randy Orton, JBL, Rey Mysterio and Lashley.
SmackDown carries the momentum into Survivor Series, having gone 2-for-2 in inter-promotional matches at Taboo Tuesday on Nov. 1. Can Theodore Long's brand keep the hot streak going and come away from Survivor Series as victors, or will Eric Bischoff's RAW bounce back from its Taboo Tuesday losses?

The same night that Bischoff made his challenge, Theodore Long made one of his own: a battle between the General Managers. Bischoff accepted, and he and Long will go one on one at Survivor Series on Nov. 27. Which General Manager will prove to be the top dog? <SCRIPT type=text/javascript>DisplayAd("LargeBody");</SCRIPT><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR class=even><TD><SCRIPT language=JavaScript><!--var plugin=(navigator.mimeTypes && navigator.mimeTypes["application/x-shockwave-flash"])?(navigator.mimeTypes["application/x-shockwave-flash"].enabledPlugin):(0);if(plugin){plugin=parseInt(plugin.description.substring(plugin.description.index Of(".")-1))>=6;}else if(navigator.userAgent && navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("msie")>=0 && (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows 95")>=0 || navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows 98")>=0 || navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows NT")>=0)){document.writeln('<SCR'+'IPT LANGUAGE=VBScript\>');document.writeln('on error resume next');document.writeln('plugin=(IsObject(CreateObject("ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.6")))');docume nt.writeln('</SCR'+'IPT\>');}var pr_redir='$CTURL$';var pr_redir_def='~';var pr_bust=Math.random();var pr_pos='';if(typeof(prInst)=='undefined'){var prInst=1}else{prInst++}if(!plugin){pr_pos='&pos=g'}var prs="ads.PointRoll.com/PRServe/?ad=407D952005111902054"+pr_pos+"&pub=wwf&num="+prInst+"&size=300_250&code=no&hide=~&redir="+pr_redi r+"&defredir="+pr_redir_def+"&bu="+pr_bust+"&r="+Math.random();document.write("<scr"+"ipt language='JavaScript' src="http://"+prs+""></scr"+"ipt>");//--></SCRIPT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The war between Kurt Angle and John Cena has escalated in the past couple months. The WWE Champion thought that he finished the Olympic Gold Medalist once and for all at Taboo Tuesday, where he won a Triple Threat Match over Angle and Shawn Michaels. However, on the Nov. 7 edition of RAW, Eric Bischoff announced that they would square off one more time for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. Angle holds several victories over Cena in recent weeks, including a RAW tag team match where hand-picked referee Daivari helped Angle & Chris Masters defeat Cena & HBK by disqualification. On the Nov. 21 edition of RAW, Angle announced that Daivari was now his personal referee, and would be officiating the WWE Championship Match at Survivor Series. Will Cena overcome the odds and his adversary one more time on Nov. 27, or will Angle leave Survivor Series a five-time WWE Champion?
Also, Triple H and Ric Flair will go toe to toe in a Last Man Standing Match at Survivor Series. Since Triple H attacked Flair at WWE Homecoming, The Game and the "Nature Boy" have been at each other's throats constantly. At Taboo Tuesday, the fans granted Flair's wish, and he defeated Triple H in a Steel Cage Match to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Can the "Dirtiest Player in the Game" prevail one more time, or will the Cerebral Assassin find a way to even the score at Survivor Series?
The Women's Championship could be moving to SmackDown after Survivor Series, as Trish Stratus will face Melina for the gold on Nov. 27. After eliminating Trish to win an inter-promotional Diva Battle Royal on the Nov. 14 edition of RAW, Melina had MNM abduct Trish the next week. Melina then challenged Trish to a championship match, which Trish accepted. Will Melina further her claim of being the dominant Diva, or will the fans get some Stratusfaction at Survivor Series?
To find out who will come out on top, be sure to tune into Survivor Series on Nov. 27, live on pay-per-view from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Stay tuned to WWE.com as more information and matches are announced for the Thanksgiving weekend spectacular.

Destor 11-27-2005 08:34 PM

So....is anyone going to watch this? Should be one of the years best shows with all the interpromotional matches.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:02 PM

I'm watching. I really don't give a shit who wins the main event, though.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:08 PM

I have no clue who is going over in that one.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:09 PM

The thing about it is, it doesn't matter who goes over. I respect the fact that they're trying to make Raw v. Smackdown look like WWE v. WCW, but it's just not the same at all.

Xero 11-27-2005 09:10 PM

Yeah, really, it seems that they're trying to do the Invasion right. Only problem is that they're almost five years too late.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:10 PM

Is there nobody else here watching?

Loose Cannon 11-27-2005 09:11 PM

probably not cause nobody gives a shit about the WWE anymore.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:12 PM

I think their are only three people watching...

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:14 PM

I don't really care who wins this particular match either. You KNOW it's going to go at least seven matches, so this one is pretty much just cannon fodder. Still, not a bad match so far though. Slow, but not bad.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:17 PM

Slow is good, but I have no intrest either, 6 to go so this one doesn't matter.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:17 PM

This is going to be a long night...

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:19 PM

What's the Smackdown side of this card looking like besides this? I've been paying very little attention.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:23 PM

Six matches tonight in total.

Benoit/Booker
Trish/Melina
Teddy long/Bischoff
Flair/H (last man standing)
Angle/Cena
SS match RAW/SD!

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:25 PM

Teddy Long can't wrestle for dick.

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:26 PM

Im watching: Booker T just beat benoit with a roll up with help from Sharmell

DaVe 11-27-2005 09:27 PM

I might as well say hi.

So what is happening at the moment?

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:27 PM

Vince Mcmahon to Cena: Keep it up my nigga

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:27 PM

Tell me he did NOT just say that!

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:29 PM

So yeah, if Melina wins, does the title go to Smackdown?

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:29 PM

Next up: Trish vs Melina

BTW Booker appeared on screen after Mcmahon made that comment: Tell me he didn't say that!!!!!!!

Haha.

So yeah, if Melina wins, does the title go to Smackdown?

On Smackdown and Velocity they say it does.

That means nothing. Think about all the matches Kevin Nash had and how bad they remained during the duration of his career.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:36 PM

I'm not exactly sure where they're going with Mickie James, but for that reason, I'm enjoying it. That was a pretty decent match right there.

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:37 PM

Trish beats Melina with a top rope bulldog :(. MNM was sent to the back early in the match for attempting the snapshot on Trish but the ref caught it

LOL, too true.

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:40 PM

Dmitri Young at ringside. For those that don't know who he is he plays for the Detroit Tigers and is best known for beating up a mascot with a baseball bat back when he was with the Reds

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:40 PM

Flair v. HHH

I say Triple H takes it.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:41 PM

I live in Cincinnati, and I remember Dmitri Young would wear a Wolfpac shirt under his jersey and he would give Sean Casy and Adam Dunn the nWo finger touch thing.

Agreed, HHH has lost his last 4 PPV matches and I can't see a fifth.

It's game time!!!!!

Do any last man standing matches actually end in any thing other than a double 10 count? I just can't remember the last time that happened.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:44 PM

Yeah, there was that one time when somebody won, I think.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:44 PM

H has got this in the bag.

That's true but I think this is where HHH goes back to main eventing with a total beatdown of the nature boy. Another dead give away is that this isn't for the IC title I believe....

Edit: Yep, the King just stated it no IC belt on the line

DaVe 11-27-2005 09:45 PM

Do any last man standing matches actually end in any thing other than a double 10 count?

What happened with Kane and Shane?

I believe Kane took that after dismantling Shane

Destor 11-27-2005 09:49 PM

Styles is the man. Just thought I'd say that. No particular reason.

funny thing is... i just watched the damn dvd with that match, kane won it cause shane took one HELL of a Sick bump off the tron or whatever the stuff is besides the tron, i call it "rigging" cause that what i know it as.
anyway, shane does a leap of faith off it, MISSES kane and basicly hands kane the match.

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 09:52 PM

It must be a BITCH for Flair to wash his hair after he blades.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:53 PM

H beat Foley in a last man standing.

Destor 11-27-2005 09:53 PM

ftr

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:54 PM

Shit, they grabbed a freakin screw driver in this match :wtf: . Flair is busted open terribly but what's new with that

DaVe 11-27-2005 09:54 PM

So, to conclude -- yes.

The Answer 11-27-2005 09:56 PM

No disrespect to Flair as he is a legend but grabbing a guys nuts is pretty homo in any situation and holding them for a distinct period of time is even worse

DaVe 11-27-2005 09:58 PM

He is reinstating himself as the "dirtiest player in the game".

DaVe 11-27-2005 10:05 PM

How good is the match?

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 10:08 PM

Not too shabby.

The Answer 11-27-2005 10:12 PM

3 pedigree's and Flair keeps getting up here comes the sledgehammer and wham to the back of the neck and that's it. It's all about the game!!!!!!!!! :y: :y: HHH WINS!!!!

PullMyFinger 11-27-2005 10:12 PM

lmao @ Booker saying "tell me he did not just say that?!" when Vince told Cena "keep it up my nigga"

Destor 11-27-2005 10:13 PM

H wins for the first time in Servivor Series history!

Destor 11-27-2005 10:14 PM

Solid match. Not legendary, but solid.

The Greater Power 11-27-2005 10:16 PM

Better than their Taboo Tuesday match?

Boondock Saint 11-27-2005 10:16 PM

rob11 11-27-2005 10:36 PM

Massive Angle chants!

Sting Fan 11-27-2005 10:40 PM

Just curious was the IC title on the line in HHH vs. Flair?

And if not do you think they played the beating up enough that he may forefit the belt?

DaVe 11-27-2005 10:41 PM

No

Anybody Thrilla 11-27-2005 10:45 PM

I'd say "No" and "Maybe". That'd be a good way to get the title off of him without him having to job.

Loose Cannon 11-27-2005 10:45 PM

I've been watching Survivor Series 92

Such awesome booking with the whole Perfect storyline back then.

Sting Fan 11-27-2005 10:46 PM

Alright, its a shame the belt didnt change hands though, anyone evetualy going over Trips for that would get a huge rub.

The Answer 11-27-2005 10:59 PM

 Boogeyman appears gives Bischoff a pump handle slam(move looked like shit) and Teddy pins for the win

Boring chants for the GM match.

The Greater Power 11-27-2005 11:27 PM

I think this was a line:

"Who the hell are you and why are you talking" - Tazz referring to Styles.

Savio 11-27-2005 11:31 PM

is it over?

http://www.sendspace.com/file/t8um4z

The Answer 11-27-2005 11:31 PM

So far: Lashley eliminated by a Kane chokeslam, Kane eliminated by a Batista spine buster, Batista eliminated by a double chokeslam by Kane and Batista, Big Show eliminated by Rey after two clothslines from hell and RKO and finally a 619.

3 vs 3 left. Orton, JBL,Mysterio vs HBK, Carlito, Masters

DaVe 11-27-2005 11:33 PM

Come on, 'Taker.

The Answer 11-27-2005 11:33 PM

JBL eliminates Carlito with a clothsline from hell. 3 on 2: Masters and HBk vs Orton, JBL and Orton

The Answer 11-27-2005 11:34 PM

619 on Masters and he is gone. 3 on 1 against HBK

DaVe 11-27-2005 11:35 PM

Wow, Batista and Orton are a total of 4 people, btw.:p

Edit: So Undertaker screws SD over, I assume.

The Answer 11-27-2005 11:37 PM

Mysterio goes for the 619 gets the SCM ala benjamin and he is gone. JBl goes for the clothsline from hell and he gets the SCM and he is gone. Orton vs HBK left just like I predicted on Tipsters

The Answer 11-27-2005 11:43 PM

JBL grabs a chair while he is on the floor and gets in the ring and tries to hit HBK with it.HBk decks him with the SCM but that gets caught with an RKO and is pinned. Smackdown wins and here comes Taker with new pants that remind me of the undertaker of old but that's about it.

Yep a new hat and now new pants you heard it here first

DaVe 11-27-2005 11:47 PM

How much different does he look from Biker 03 now? (I know you said what has changed, but you can still say he looks the same, or looks quite a bit different.)

mrslackalack 11-27-2005 11:47 PM

For the 2nd time in 3 yrs, Orton pins HBK to win a SS eliminaton match.

Destor 11-27-2005 11:48 PM

Randy Orton has been the sole survivor in every SS match he has been in.

The Greater Power 11-27-2005 11:48 PM

Wow, that's actually quite amazing when you think about it.

mrslackalack 11-27-2005 11:49 PM

Yep I just realized that as well about Orton.
