Who is this Nick Mondo guy, and why do we care
I refuse to read the topics about him because they look long. I just want the short and skinny of it.
|
The short and skinny: No-one cares.
We took shots at him and CZW primarily to get a rise out of Sadistic. Now that he's gone, obody'll mention him again, most likely. |
trained by Al Snow
Flamed by TPWW Retired because of injuries and now works at Blockbusters because (he's actually dating this Rain chick. She's alright. I'll go post her pic) |
CZW sucks with or without Sadistic. But I wouldn't give them shit if Sadistic wasn't such a mark.
|
|
Al Snow hasn't trained any one good.
|
Sadistic got banned? :'( But now where will my entertainment come from?

Oh, nevermind. He just got even more retarded.
|
The gist is that Nick Mondo is a "wrestler" (using the term loosely) who worked for a promotion called Combat Zone Wrestling. Basically, CZW markets itself as a hardcore promotion, and their most famous matches typically involve people smashing each other in the heads with various objects (lightbulb tubes, etc.)
Mondo became a "star" with CZW because he could get hit in the head and bleed a lot. Sort of like Mick Foley but without the psychology. The big reason he became a big thing here was because Sadistic was/is a CZW mark, so the Mondo-bashing started as a way to get a rise out of him. You know TPWW and n00b bashing... |

Why? |
To be fair, I rarely think of Foley as hardcore. He may have done deathmatches, but he was a legit wrestler in multiple promotions.
|
Hey, wasn't Mondo the name of some sort of drink back in the day? I remember drinking something called Mondo....it was grape....
I was looking at this photography website and saw pictures of Nick Mondo. He was covered with blood and underneath his armpit was a gash and it was friggen disgusting. I also saw some guy blading another guy with a knife. As Kyle would say sarcasticaly, DUDE! |

He really left because we were owning him and he had used the biggest lie he could think up relating to CZW's fanbase/status. |

Have any of you bothered to even watch CZW in the past 2 years (Tournament of Death does not count, as half of the promotions in the Mid-West to the East Coast all have death match tourneys now-a-days)?

Wait, so you're being judgmental spaz without even knowing ourcredentials?

Ironically, Mondo was in the match, but got his ass carried to a half decent match by Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere. Seriously, the Junior Heavyweight division is just spot after spot after spot, its totally hard to believe. Half the time the guys are jumping to make sure that they actually hit the move. Everyone is right, there is absolutely no psychology what so ever. Your right though, most of these shitty little indy promotions do have death match tournaments and they are utter garbage as well, but of course, they have these so called Junior Heavyweight divisions as well, which they use to justify the garbage wrestling on the rest of the show. CZW and IWA:MS (the ones I could think of off the top of my head) promote themselves as ultraviolent entertainment, and it does them no good what so ever when the majority of there events are headlined by the crapfests. Nick Mondo has some basic wrestling skills, but they are exceedingly basic. The majority of his moves involve jumping and falling, just like any of the other junior-heavyweights in CZW, there is nothing other than the high-flying moves, spot after spot after spot. He wrestled in deathmatches because he could only go so far with his in-ring ability. The things CZW do bring a bad name for the "wrestling" side of the industry. Granted, the WWE put out exceedingly bad "entertainment" and have some equally poor wrestling at times, but they are not giving kids the message that its fun to go out and hit each other with glass and barbed wire and throw themselves onto fire. Mondo said himself "he did it for fun".....thats a great message for all those backyarders out there. At the end of the day Mondo, and 90% of the rest of the "talent" in CZW are backyarders who can't make it in promotions which actually promote wrestling over violence and psychology over a trampoline act. |

Now I have no idea if this was answered somewhere else. I have never been a fan of CZW because I never knew about it so please excuse this dumb question. CZW seems to be not liked by a lot of people here now way I see it seems very violent. But wasn't ECW violent too? I'm not comparing them to each other in any way. I'm just wondering what's hated so much about CZW?
|
ECW had wrestling in it I believe, and what I hear so far is that CZW is just nothing but nonstop weapons and bleeding.
|
ECW had it's emotion and mixed real wrestling, spot fests, and violence into the perfect mix.
CZW has spotfests and extreme matches. That's it. And most of their wrestlers suck ass, as compared to ECW, which I don't think I need to point out, but Benoit, Jericho, Tazz, Eddie, Malenko, Rey, Austin, etc etc etc... |

I'm not Sadistic. The "OMGZ" and "Roxxzorz" shit, or whatever you may call it is just a way to piss people off. I'm not a bloodmark nor am I "MONDOS #1." I'm just trying to point out that many of you are basing your opinions of CZW on false beliefs. They have 1 hardcore match a show.....MAYBE 2. I'd say the rest of the card is filled with comedy/technical wrestling/strong style/etc, to give CZW a good mix of all kinds of styles.
I really don't know where some of you get this "spotty" stuff from. That may have been CZW's main characteristic back in 2001-2002, but it's totally different now. Some of the wrestlers do it for the hardcore aspect, some do it for the fans, some do it for the love of the sport, and some do it for pure comedy. I'd say CZW's upcoming Cage of Death show is VERY well-rounded so far. The only "ultraviolence" so far is the main event 3 vs. 3 cage match. CZW is NOT all garbage wrestling, if any at all. Mondo's "era" is over and done with. He retired. He bumped and took unbelieveable shots to his body, and whether it was for the fans or for the pay, he's now RETIRED because of taking too much punishment. No need to harp on a pretty much dead genre of the wrestling world. I take it many of you have never heard of Mike Quackenbush, Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Super Dragon, or Kevin Steen. So much for the mindless, no-psychology, garbage wrestling...... EDITED to prevent large deposits of sand from collecting in Xero's vagina....... |
Quote:
Oh yeah, I've heard of them and I must say . They may not be ultraviolent, but you got two parts of it right, they are mindless with no psychology. |
Professional wrestlers on this forum HATE CZW. You're a fan. And you're a blind CZW mark.
(Didn't read his whole post, one big fucking unreadable paragraph.) |
How is my post unreadable? I typed in English. I could redo it in German or Spanish if you wish. I'm not a so-called "blind CZW mark. I like a bunch of other US indys as well as some foreign ones. Chikara, IWS, IWA-MS, ISW, etc. as well as TNA (not an indy, but oh well), NOAH, AJPW, NJPW, AAA, CMLL, and the list goes on. Broaden your horizens a bit people. I watch WWE every now and then and have come to despise it (and not because it's not hardcore). Everyone has their personal preferences, and I guess I can tolerate more than others.....but, that's life.
|
Once again dipshit, we like other feds besides WWE, just not the crap CZW puts out. Does that compute, assclown?
|
TNA sucks for the most part too...
And when writing in the English language (and really ANY language), it's usually a good idea to put your thoughts in organized paragraphs. One big block of normally spaced text is a bitch to read. |

No, maybe I'm just too used to people who comprehend the English language and formatting.

Too bad others were able to read it just fine.....

Dinner's on! Kevin's wife, Mary, passes you a bowl. You peer into it, trying to figure out what it is. Rice? Not identifiable enough. Cheese? Too grainy. Sand? No...Wait...It's salt! Wait, surely this is a mistake, you tell Kev and Mary. There's nothing but salt in this dish! Mary tries her hardest not to look offended, as Kevin asks you, "What's the matter, don't you LIKE salt?" Of course you do. You probably salt your fries or potatoes, you eat pickles, maybe you salt your meat or even pizza (Don't ask, my grandparents did). But salt as the main course? Good wrestling is like good cooking. You require several well handled elements. You need ring psychology, charisma (Not necessarily mic skills, wrestlers need a presence around them), you need a good repitoire, and you need to have good play between the wrestlers. Then you season to taste. Salt (Violence) and Garlic Pepper (Spots) do not make a god dish all by themselves. You add them to enhance the flavor of a meal. ECW was a bit spice heavy, but still have a good base recipe anyway. CZW wrestlers tend to lack the ability to "tell a story" in the ring, have little ring psychology, and rely on spots and violence instead of good chemistry or charisma or ring psychology. Would you like a little french fry with your salt? Some of the wrestlers may be good but green, but the ringwork doesn't show off for all the spots. It's big moves with little transition or reason, it's violence for the sake of violence. I wasn't a fan of everything ECW did either, but they were more than spots. Even if CZW never let another wrestler bleed again ever, they would reek of shitty ringwork and heavy spotfests. |

Then I started training. And wow, did learn quick how wrong I was. When I expressed my views on wrestling the wrestlers told me I was what is wrong with the business and told me I was a moron. (Imagine Sadistic flaming but in person, and without all the funny pictures.) For a while I couldn't understand. I thought I was the one with the firm grasp on what wrestling is, and what it takes to make good wrestling. How can I be so wrong? After many long conversations I finally realized what garbage wrestling is, why its second rate, and how its a poison in the business. And how I was the fool. Every since then I have hated promotions that garner to mindless-garbage-spotfest or mindless-garbage-hardcore. Don't know why I typed all that out, but thats why I hate CZW and the likes (without going through what garbage wrestling is and things of that nature, as I assume anyone here has enough knowledge on the subject that I don't need to go there.) I figured Sadistic would have had an ending like I did, but he was too stubborn to believe anything anyone told him. |
