If Dusty (or anyone else, for that matter) isgonna be the new GM, why bother bringing Shane out ?

No one should freak out about the GM position just yet. it says "The word is Dusty will be GM" it doesn't confirm it. It's just rumours for now. Watch RAW next week and see what happens.

I seriously won't watch much longer if he's the permanent GM. I find it hard to make out what he says with his southern accent and lisp. I have nothing against southerners, I just think he in particular is hard to understand. Mind you I probably talk funny with my Canadian accent, eh?
