Am I like, the only one not overly impressed with Joe? I mean, don't get me wrong; he's good (not as good as Daniels or Lynn mind you) but good. He just reminds me of like, Taz-lite only with a high flying ability. I dunno, just not a fan.

The TNA crowd is on hand for this one.

I'm kinda the same way. Good technical skill, quick for a guy his size, but I don't really think he's the next big thing. I'm kinda curious why, exactly, he counts as an X Division wrestler. I know it's not about weight limits, but he's not exactly Chris Sabin out there.

I mean, he slightly reminds me of Taz in ECW (minus the cool ass gimmick) so I'm not real sure as to why I don't like his in ring work. I just don't understand what's so damn great about him. I know he's good, but good is about it to me and yet anytime I see a Joe related thread you guys build him up like he's the best indy guy out. Joe just doesn't have that intangible something that captivates my attention like Daniels or Styles.

But like HBK2K said...not overly impressed with him. He's got an innovative finisher but...I think being called the Samoan Submission Machine is a little much for him. He's got, what, two submissions? Being called a Submission Machine might be a little much.

Yeah, that shit pissed me off. I love submission style wrestlers (mostly due to my MMA background) and so when they were calling him the "Samoan Submission Machine" I got all excited. Then I watched a couple of his matches and was like "WTF, I've seen John Cena do more submission then him! :MAD:".

I think you guys just solved why I'm not thrilled with Joe, I'm angry about his misleading nickname. :rant:

In ROH he does much more submissions.

In TNA though his style had to change so he might actually have a chance of being booed which is nearly impossible.

Here's the problem though.

RoH isn't televised.

The fanbase will jduge him on what they see, and honestly, I'm not impressed. And I've SEEN THE GUY IN ACTION before, it's just that he's shit in TNA.

It's like Burchill, or the Cruiserweights. Doesn't much matter how good you are if your finisher is a sholderbreaker/armbar or your moveset is banned.

I've seen Joe in ROH (live actually) , still not overly impressed.

I get what you are saying and I'm not really disargeeing with you, but I think Joe has lived up to the hype.

He's been good in every match he's had in TNA. Those kicks he does look really painful, and I'm sure they are. He is definitely the quickest guy I have ever seen for his size. His personatly to is great.

Take it for what it's worth, but submissions are not I'm buying Samoa Joe has a great wrestler.

Then they need to stop telling us he's a submission machine then. False Advertising isn't something TNA needs right now.

Brock Lesnar was bigger, quicker, a better wrestler, is more captivating, and did more submission moves :rant: Thus Joe being "big and quick" isn't overly impressive to me.

Plus if we're talking "chubby/fat" big and quick then Bam Bam trumps him in that category as well. Bam Bam was a better overall wrestler as well, plus he had flames tattooed on his fuckin head (that's gotta count for something) :cool: .

Thus Joe isn't that impressive regardless. Again, good but not exceptional.

From what I've seen, I really like Somoa Joe. BUT I have only seen him in squash matches on Impact. I normally hate squash matches too. He seems like a pretty solid worker, but I'll have to wait to see him a big one on one match.

To be fair, though, once Orton and Cena won the titles, their gimmicks changed completely, and the way they played their heel gimmicks were why we loved them to begin with.

How dare you mention Joe's name lumped in with commoners like Orton and Cena...

Also Joe held the ROH World Title for roughly 20 months, I can handle him holding titles for a while.

He's no Jimmy Rave however. But then again who is?

I like Joe, he reminds me of Vader in a monster heel sense. I just wish he could open up his arsenal more in TNA, like he did in RoH. Joe has had a great year from his first match to AJ Styles, to the Triple Threat w/ Daniels and Styles. Plus who can forget his match with Kenta Kobashi or the tag match from Unforgettable?

With that being said, Joe is the kinda wrestler that needs a good opponet to fully shine. Im not saying he needs someone to carry him, but he isn't like a Kurt Angle or Ric Flair(circa 1985) that can have a good match with anyone.

And Joe's in a promotion with no gimmicks at all...Unless being on drugs and high on housepaint counts...

My Final Heaven - Uhhhhh...I think that wasn't exactly a good argument. Case and point...I STILL love Rnady Orton, think he is the future of wrestling, and I thought they should have kept the title off of him until at least Mania 22 and have him go through some classic wars for the IC Title and World Title teases for a few years...John Cena sucks (always and forever)...Samoa Joe isn't the future, the next big thing, or even hype worthy. He is nothing more then a guy who is kind of big, stiff, and has a few interesting moves that if Sonjay Dutt did he would be labled usless. BORING.
