|
Roxer is that a practive field outside the dome?
http://www.stadiumsofnfl.com/afc/gilmain.jpg yeah, call it a homer pick, but Gillette is great, not a bad seat in the whole place, plenty of consessions and rest rooms, etc... and it's not a 80K place, so even the top section has a decent view. I also like (haven't been to) whatever the park that the SF Giants play at, and the Staples Center was nice when I was there. |

The new Jets stadium was wonderful, until they didn't build it :(
|
That Arizona Cardinals stadium drawing is not right at all. It doesn't look anything like it. Someone drew fans in it.

http://www.weatherwise.co.uk/images/wem_lg.jpg Also, what are the capacities of the American stadiums you're all posting and do they always sell out or what? For the ones i posted; The Nou Camp is 98,000 and is the biggest football stadium in Europe. The Bernabeu is 80,000 and Wembley will be 90,000 when its completed. |

Also, I went to the Withdean last season, and for such a small ground, they've made a really good job of getting the fans to the ground. It's got a home and away supporters pub with a great atmosphere and Brighton fans are great people to share a pre-match atmosphere with. |

College stadiums can hold 100,000? Thats pretty mental. The largest stadium in England at the moment can only hold 67,000 and thats for the biggest football team in teh world. (although i think they're currently upgrading it to 75,000 and Wembley will be 90,000 when its finished).
Are they all seated or do you have standing areas? Football stadiums in this country have to be all seated now but i think terracing is still allowed in Germany and other parts of Europe. |

http://www.nufc.com/images/croke-park.jpg And Croke Park is just magnificent and not even used for any professional sport which is just amazing really considering how amazing it is |

The Rose Bowl is like 100K. The actual Rose Bowl game is the only game played there and it is completely sold out. |
UCLA plays all their home games at the Rose Bowl.

I'm pretty sure of at least 4 that are over 100K, Michigan, Tennessee, Penn State & Ohio State, there may be a few more and I know there are a bunch of 80K's. I think Michigan or Penn state holds the most, but I'm not positive on that and yeah the college stadiums typically sell out. |

I believe the biggest in all of NCAA is the "Big House" Michigan Stadium @ The University of Michigan, which now can hold nearly 110,000 people every saturday during the season. Those are the 5 biggest stadiums in the country. Kyle Field @ Texas A&M will join the 100K list in 2008, when changes to their stadium will allow them to host over 103,000 people. |

I've been outside of Michigans stadium a few times on business, it's huge, but you don't notice it as much because of how far down they went, I'd guess close to 1/2 is actually under ground. |
I only like one stadium.

I was there on opening night against Green Bay (the only game I've been able to get to in the new place), but I might try to pick up season tickets for next year (to go along with my White Sox package). |

PNC Park... Just a Beautiful Stadium... Not a bad seat in the house... The view of the city is priceless....now if we can only get a decent team to play in it we will be alright... |

I went to a Cubs/Red Sox game, and stayed at the Parlmer (or is Parker?) House hotel in the City. We walked around city and rode cabs and shit. Checked out Solider field, it was pretty sweet. I also saw it from the top of Sears Tower - Chi Town is really a great city. I had a great time but I was only there for a weekend, I wanna get back |

Was that the International rules game where a fucking dog ran on the field, Ogen?
|
Quote:
As long as I have lived in this city (all my life), I have NEVER gone to the top of the sears tower. Mainly due to the fact that I am afraid of heights. |
You should go next Tuesday then.
|
Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
And my football club has played on it too. |
I found the Estadio Centenario on google earth the other day. It looks even shittier from the air
|
As shit as it looks it's fucking intimidating. I like the old-school run down stadiums cos they're the ones opposition teams and supporters (in football anyway) hate visiting the most cos they're fucking daunting. In Victoria that stadium is Knights Stadium for Melbourne Croatia. Small (capacity 15,000), fences all around, one main grandstand on one side of the ground and the rest (broadcast side and behind both goals) is just all terraces. Fuck you shit yourself in that joint when it's packed in.
|
 you can actually make out the moat they have around the field
|
ahahaha the old cunts playing Bocce just outside the stadium :'(
Cunts taking a slash on the back fence at halftime cos they can't be fucked walking all the way to the grandstand where the toilets are. :'( |
Couldn't they just do the classy approach, wrap themselves in flags and piss in a cup?
|
No cos flags aren't brought into the venue, only flares

Lincoln Financial Field--Philadelphia

City of Manchester Stadium: Manchester, England

VEl, yeah the playing field is on wheels. So it can get sun, water, etc, then they just roll in the natural grass on gameday. Or they roll it out if they have concerts or monster trucks or whatnot.

Rain man, looks like the Eagles did the same type of "mold" the Pats did and I'll assume most new stadiums will, I forget the term, it's like 360 degree seating, basiclly every seat in the place is centered on mid field, it's a great idea, unlike place like fenway park where there are very, very, very, few seats that you can see the whole field of play.

Would've thought since you're such a huge Jags fan you'd put their stadium down :nono:

http://www.rolltide.com/images/17631.jpg Will be even more pimp after the upgrades their currently doing. |
|
Good luck trying to see something from the back of that.
|
Why on earth do the Colts need a new stadium.
|
|
Are the upper level seats bleachers?
|
So you judge who needs a new stadium by the how the field looks from a wide view angle? lol I dunno that status of it or anything. I am assuming they want more concessions, better restrooms, more seats and more efficient ways to get money though.
|
Doesn't the RCA Dome only hold like 64K?
|
60K
new one is 75K |

Is the new Colts stadium going to require "seats license fees"? The Pats didn't do that, the trade off is, now people are having trouble transfering tickets to family members. Last I heard they were going to allow it, with a fee. |
Fenway all the way.

That stadium is going to be so pimp. |
