Kelsey Grammer as Beast in 20th Century Fox's X-Men 3 - 2006

Downunder 01-06-2006 03:16 AM

I think he'd be pretty good

Supreme Olajuwon 01-06-2006 04:07 AM

He looks good as does Vinnie Jones.

Sickboy 01-06-2006 06:05 AM

Are there any pictures of Jones as Juggernaut except the head shot?

mitchables 01-06-2006 06:17 AM

There is a picture in the latest Wizard magazine of Beast talking to Storm, Xavier and Wolvie. If you look closely at it, you can see he's wearing a ring with a big "X" on it, which suggests he is probably an alumnus of Xavier's institute.

Also, he looks awesome in a suit.

Disturbed316 01-06-2006 09:53 AM

Grammer has the perfect voice for Beast.

Word. I'd never thought of that before, but it seems to fit perfectly.

Daniel Cudmore as Colossus in 20th Century Fox's X-Men 3 - 2006

D Mac 01-07-2006 08:32 PM

Are they going to have Iceman vs Pyro? I for one would like to see that.

Boomer 01-07-2006 08:34 PM

I question his agility.

But CGI is our best friend I guess.

UGH. Worst. Colossus. Ever.

That said, watching the trailer, I did see a hint of a Fastball Special, which might redeem him.

MIGHT.

Kane Knight 01-07-2006 09:00 PM

Grammer is perfect for BEast. I don't think there's a better choice in our lifetimes.

mitchables 01-07-2006 09:01 PM

I (for once :p) completely agree with Kane Knight. I cannot wait for this movie.

Also, despite the negative aura surrounding it, from a bunch of interviews and shots I saw in Wizard, Superman Returns is looking fucking hot.

YOUR Hero 01-07-2006 09:40 PM

Are they going to give it a better name than X Men 3 ?

Title Note: (6/2/03) The title of 'X3: X-Men 3' that I'm currently listing this movie under is not official, as there is currently no official title for this movie. (12/6/05) There are currently rumors circulating online that the subtitle of the film may be 'The Last Stand', ala something like 'X3: The Last Stand.'

Silent 01-08-2006 04:56 PM

I thought that Grammer in the movie was weird, but thinking back to the comics and especially the 90's cartoon, he should do a good job.

mitchables 01-08-2006 07:20 PM

Yeah, I agree.

Daniel Cudmore, on the other hand, can suck my left nut.

What part of the name "Piotr Nicolaevich Rasputin" sounds remotely American to you, Daniel Cudmore? LEARN AN ACCENT, YOU FUCKWIT.

Samuel L. Jackson was my second choice.

mitchables 01-08-2006 08:13 PM

Well, I can't argue with that, KK. I guess that was his motivation for playing Colossus as an all-round American.

I think it was total ineptitude on behalf of casting.

Kane Knight 01-08-2006 08:21 PM

Yeah, I was hoping they'd cast Paul Reubens as Blanka.

mitchables 01-08-2006 08:22 PM

Yeah, that too. :( I never got over it. I was devastated. When Colossus armoured up, I was so excited.

Then he spoke, and it all went to hell.

I need to learn to use the "Quote" function more often.

mitchables 01-08-2006 08:25 PM

I had a lot of hopes for the Street Fighter movie, among them:
  • Guile would be American and have excellent hair
  • Ryu and Ken wouldn't be mercenary cowards and would actually be the focus of the movie, like in the game
  • E-Honda would be Japanese
  • Balrog would be evil
  • Deejay would be neutral
  • Sagat wouldn't be old and decrepit
  • M. Bison wouldn't be tiny (not that Raul Julia wasn't awesome anyway)
  • Dhalsim would be Indian
  • Blanka would be Brazilian
  • Blanka wouldn't be a half-finished mutant
  • Blanka would use some shock excellence and bite some face, instead of whimper in a corner

I guess you can't win 'em all though, or in this case, any. :$

Thankfully, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie rectified all these horrendous faux pas'.

YOUR Hero 01-08-2006 08:27 PM

To be fair, Collosus is not a major roled person, so not having a Russian (or Russian accent) doesn't reall matter that much in the grand scheme of things.

You forgot:
  • Blanka wouldn't be Charlie.

Kane Knight 01-08-2006 08:35 PM

Not to mention:
  • Zangeif wouldn't be retarded
  • Ryu and Ken would bust out some dragon punches
  • The major faceoff wouldbe a little less...GAY

Robert Mammone .... Carlos Blanka

It does when he had a relatively large speaking part (for a minor character) and when you consider that, since he has his own face shot this time, he probably has a much bigger part. :$

WTF, I swear I remember reading somewhere that it was Danny Glover.

That has seriously fucked with my perception of things. Here I was, carrying an unnecessary grudge against Danny Glover.

I am gonna go rent Operation Dumbo Drop to make up for this.

Destor 01-08-2006 08:54 PM

Dont do it Mitch! It's not the way! Rent Grand Cayon, Dumbo is just to much.

They didn't, originally. Dougray Scott was initially cast as Wolverine, but he broke his hand early on. Hugh Jackman scored the role after that and wound up making himself a hell of a career out of it.

Initially, I was pretty upset too, but then I thought about it, and couldn't think of one white actor with the stature and fit that MCD had as the Kingpin. Colour aside, he looked the part, you have to admit. :$

I totally forgot about that. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing, I'm not sure. :D

Topher Grace as Venom! That's a pre-emptive question, but I'd have never thought that Tobey Maguire would've made a good Spider-Man. Plus it's Venom, so win-win, baby.

Depending on who you ask anyway. :p

Kind of similar to Hugh Laurie playing Greg House. Couldn't imagine anyone else.

Hugh Laurie is the man :'( He was cast to play Perry White in Superman Returns but had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts with House. :'(
