Rocky 6: Rocky Balboa
Plot Summary
Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) has now been retired for some time, but hard-up for money, he decides to step back into the ring against a few small-time boxers. Everything changes, though, when Rocky is offered the opportunity to step in with the reigning Heavyweight Champion, Mason "The Line" Dixon. Does Rocky still have what it takes to make another Championship comeback?? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0479143/plotsummary Thoughts? |
LOL Mason "The Line" Dixon
|
Antonio Tarver is playing Dixon, BTW.
|
Thats like the life story of every current Heavyweight Contender.
|
That is just Rocky 1 all over again, but with Rocky being 50 years old.
|
Yeah, this sounds like it's going to be terrible. I'm a big, big Rocky fan...it's my favorite movie. Might have to avoid this one like the plague. Yeah, and supposedly Adrian dies between 5 & 6.
|
I don't care how bad it might be. I am still right pumped for this.
|
**cough**
Cinderella Man **cough** They are already in the works for Rocky 7 ------------Rocky vs. Abe Vigoda------- |
I want to see this, but it'd be ten times better with Dolph Lundgren again.
DRAGO FTW! |

Drago: I must break you, again. Rocky: Yo, no way. Retirement home orderly: Sorry guys, but it's 7:00, time for bed. |
Talk about beating a good film to death.
Rocky 1 was great. Rocky 2 was amazing. Rocky 3 was good. Rocky 4 was unnessacary. Rocky 5 was awful. |
He's also making Rambo IV.

I dunno if I'm excited about the new Rocky film. I mean they're some of the best films ever IMO and with the new film-editing capabilities this could look really good. However Sly is around 50 years old now, and I don't ever recall a boxer that old challenging for the heavyweight title? I'm not the biggest boxing fan and I'm only 15 so there could have been some, although it seems pretty stupid to me. I really hope it is good. Cinderella-Man was excellent, but Rocky is the daddy. |
i hope it turns out good too. but Rocky 5 was the biggest piece of shit i have ever seen

And although Rocky was the best, Rocky IV ruled ass. |
Rocky 4 seemed waaaay to forced. And the whole speach at the end about if "he and Drago can put their differences aside then why cant the countries etc" made me wanna stab my ears with a rusty blade.
|
Meh, I really liked Rocky I through IV with III being my favorite.
I don't know what to expect from this one, i always liked the Rocky franchise and i hope they don't screw this one up. Guess we'll have to wait and see :-\ |
Maybe he can train with Thunderlips. Aka Hulk Hogan. :shifty:

What are you doing online?

It will be decent.
Rocky V wasn't THAT bad either. I appriciate the series as a whole. |
Fuck that shit.
I found the REAL plot summary on imdb.com: ROCKY VI Rocky Balboa has been retired for some time, but hard-up for money, he decides to rob a liquor store for cash and booze to drink his life away. Caught, thrown into jail, and abandoned by his son and his wife Adrian (who leaves him for Rocky's lawyer, played by Michael Richards), Rocky is alone behind bars. He leads his fellow prisoners to find meaning in their lives, all the while being poorly treated by the prison gaurds, led by Officer Danielsan (Ralph Macchio, making his re-emergance into film). This leads to a final showdown between Balboa and Danielsan, if Balboa wins he gets out of prison, and if Danielsan wins he'll become the All-Valley Karate Champion. It's a tour de force, coming to a theater near you when hell freezes over (9/11/06). |

"Bob and move bob and move, then when hes not looking stab him with a knife and blow him to hell with AH rocket launcher" |
So how does a prison guard beating up a prisoner become a karate champion and how does Rocky winning mean he leaves prison? Did anyone actually put any thoughts at all in ths movie?
Im still going to see it though. |

Ralph Macchio is from The Karate Kid. It was a joke. |
Wow, someone who has never heard of Karate Kid? :?:
|
|
Sly is keeping himself in shape at least.
|
The whole Rocky series was good to me. Rocky V wasn't as good as 1-4, but, it was decent. As long as Stallone doesn't keep making sequels, it'll be ok.
It would be more believable though, if it were Rocky's son fighting in Rocky VI. |
Saw it tonight. It was WAY better than I expected it to be. Nothing overdone, just a straight-up great movie to cap off the series. Definitely one of the movies of the year.
|
Saw it tonight. It was alright, like a 6/10. There were a few bizarre touches that kinda took me out of the movie, and I wasn't a fan of the fight sequence.
Dunno, maybe if I'd seen the other movies I would've been more into it. |
lol this is your first Rocky?
|
That would be what I indicated by the whole "maybe if I'd seen the other movies" comment.
|
I really enjoyed it.
Made me want to buy the box set, which I probably will. |

"Now I must break you" |
Yeah, thought so.
:p |
I'd reply with some sort of ironic/funny Rocky quote here, if I knew any of them.
|
Somebody spoil the ending for me, please. I am still going to go see it, but I wanna know what happens in the end.
|
Spoiler for the end (Rocky loses the fight. It goes the distance and ends in a split decision from the judges in favour of Dixon)
|

That should do you fine :y: |
Go for it
|
Rocky 2 & 3 are not terrible, but Rocky [1] is the only one that really holds up. 2-5 were unnecessary.

There's a DVD Rip of it available on mininova for those who would download it. It was OK, nothing special, It wasn't really what I was looking for in the ending, but still better than 5.

Pfft, they don't even have the balls to actually call it Rocky 6.
|
I went into it expecting a total trainwreck, but was very pleasantly surprised. It's actually very inspirational IMO. It was very slow moving in the beginning and I never really got into the "Champ" character though. But overall I thought it gave Rocko a good send off. Plus, there's some great Paulie!
Hostess: "Excuse me sir, do you have a reservation?" Paulie: "I ain't no freakin' indian!" |
Mike Tyson makes me rofl.

AAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Best Rocky Line Ever. |
This movie was decent, honestly though it just made me want to watch Rocky 1-4.
|
I thought it was pretty terrible, not as bad as 5 but really how could it have been.
It did really make me want to watch 1-4 though also |
It's not out till the 19th of January over here, cant wait.
|
THIS MOVIE WAS UNREAL!
I got shivers like 20 times I am also a HUGE Rocky mark though "No lil Marie ... it ain't alright" |
Spider Rico made the movie for me. Im really glad they made this now. It ends on alot better note then it did after Rocky 5.
Great. Definately gonna get it to complete set when it gets put out. |
I dunno I expected it to suck big time (but that didn't stop me downloading it). Now I dunno if it was the music, the training montage or the fight sequence, but that movie really sucked me in. I loved it :'(
|
Yeah you better be careful or the montage will get you
|
Just saw it, finally. Good stuff.
