Let's say when Obi-Wan was seperated from Qui-Gon during the battle with Darth Maul by that force field; Qui-Gon ended up beating Darth Maul.

Do you think that would change the outcome of the prequel trilogy's events? If so, by how much? Would Anikan still fall to the Dark Side? Would Qui-Gon get a seat in the council afterall? Would Palpatine still carry out Order 66? I have thoughts, but I wanna hear yours.

The only major difference I could see is that Anakin would be taken in by Qui-Gonn instead of Obi-Wan. Palpatine would still have gotten his hands on him, and more than likely would turn him to the Dark Side anyway. And since Qui-Gonn wasn't as powerful as Obi-Wan (at least, as powerful as Kenobi was by Ep3), Anakin probably would have killed him on Mustafar or wherever when they fought.

The rammifications on the original trilogy would probably be a little more severe, since Luke wouldn't have someone to train him to face Vader and Palpatine (unless Yoda hung out on Tatooine instead)
