WWE signs Shannon Moore again

From Observer:

--WWE just signed Shannon Moore today. He was not under a contract to TNA. You'd think by now you'd know the rules of the game.

I can only hope this will result in a return to the era of Mattitude and the Moore-on.

The One 03-14-2006 04:14 PM

...uh...WWE does know he isn't that big right?

TerranRich 03-14-2006 04:16 PM

Vince: WTF? What is SHE doing back?!?!

Aaaahhhh, the cross-gendered jokes resume! :D

The One 03-14-2006 04:16 PM

http://www.tnawrestling.com/roster/i...annonmoore.gif

Figured we will see this picture back up on TNA's roster right after WWE finished some kind of Tournament for the Cursier title.

JH 03-14-2006 04:19 PM

is this Vince's idea of raiding the TNA roster
LMAO

WWE are playing it smart. Shannon's retarded.

Schoenauer 03-14-2006 05:00 PM

Well, looks like a certain Shadow will be happy to know this.

CharismaInjection 03-14-2006 05:07 PM

Remember that thread we saw where it said Vince ordered his guys to hire any guys TNA were interested in, bury them, then release them with long no compete clauses?

We have our first customer!!!

What should happen though is the return of Hardy V1AHHHH!!!! And MOORE-ON!!!

TerranRich 03-14-2006 05:20 PM

Yeah, but... Shannon Moore??

Vermaat 03-14-2006 05:33 PM

This guys is pretty good but should drop "prince of punk" and go back to being Shanon Moore. Prince of Punk is too childish and kiddy.

Is anyone else just thinking they might have done this for CM Punk?

Sweet. Just hire Evan Karagis and 3 Count will be complete to terrorize Smackdown.

The Optimist 03-14-2006 07:31 PM

I usually like Shannon Moore, I also usually like TNA but all of this is just dumb. His gimmick is stupid and partially ripped off, he looks like he shouldn't be anywhere near a ring, and TNA was stupid to think that Vince wasn't going to stifle this whole deal if he found out. I'm slowly losing faith in TNA.

I think he was the John Cena of TNA, only lower-card. He had/has a gimmick that's "in the mainstream" right now and people "can" "relate" to it.

The Optimist 03-14-2006 07:43 PM

Okay I'll give it to you there it was much like Cena, now does he have the same skills in or outside the ring, or for that matter if we are going to compare him to Cena, does he actually listen to "punk" music?

except for the fact that in TNA anyone can manage to get a face-pop... except for John Cena.

Shannon Moore is the prince of Suburban mall punk.

I don't see people who look like that at punk shows.

LOL TNA trademarked the Prince of Punk gimmick too.

LMAO Shannon Moore! The Prince of Metal/Ska/Emo/Grunge/nu metal in WWE!

V 03-15-2006 12:43 AM

they should feed him to a new hoss every week :)

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2006 04:05 AM

I like this news. The WWE needs to hire back Akio as well. Cruiserweights in the WWE is fine by me, because they seem to be using them now.

Shannon Moore, Akio & Frankie Kazarian are three men I want to see back in the WWE.

I don't know what I'd rather see more, Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore as a tag team, or Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore as a part-time tag team, mainly competing in the US/CW Division respectively.

Pinnacle Charisma 03-15-2006 07:32 AM

Moore is an idiot.

Why would you not sign with a company that has given you a fresh gimmick and some at least some tv time feuding with one of the companys biggest stars ( aj styles) in favor with a company that buried you and treated you like shit.

Who gives a shit about money Moore just turned his back on his chance of being a star.
And anyone thinks the wwe will use Moore they are just as deluded as Moore is

Unfortunately in this business, money talks. A contract, guaranteed money will do for Moore plus he will get to work in front of a bigger audience again. Just about any TNA guy would do the same.

I can understand both sides of the argument, but in the end because of the decision made by Moore, he has shown himself to be a fucking idiot who has no passion for the business itsself and because of this has lost whatever respect I was starting to have for him for what he was doing in TNA.

This though is exactly the kind of monopoly WWE holds over the wrestling world.

Edit-Btw as for your point about any TNA guy would do the same, i think WWE were trying to sign AMW and AJ Styles a while back(not toally sure on this but I think there were rumours or something) but they signed new deals with TNA to show their loyalty.I don't think Samoa Joe is interested in going to WWE either from what I heard in an interview with him on TWC.

Fair play to Moore. He's one of the more talented cruisers/X-division guys around and deserves to be on the bigger stage making the bigger bucks.

When it comes to money and providing for your family, then I can understand why he did it. It's better to be bottom of the top than top of the bottom.

I have to disagree. WWE's treatment of Shannon Moore was surprisingly good. He was one of the first purchases from WCW and lasted a hell of a long time. He survived multiple rostercuts in favour of guys who would typically satisfy the WWE's criteria for being a star more than he does.

He had various gimmicks and chances to perform on the big stage and was involved in several high profile 'sideshow' feuds with the top guys such as Brock Lesnar.

If anything, Shannon should thank Vince for not treating him in the same way he treated his other cruiserweights. I think 4 years wrestling in the 'land of the giants' before he eventually got his release, but then being RE-HIRED is testament to that.

Xero 03-15-2006 11:47 AM

Or Matt (and Shadow) had a hissy fit when Vince wouldn't re-sign Jeff Hardy...

This is stupid for Shannon, not financially but career wise. He had just finished reinventing himself, getting rid of the Diva-esque look and was getting face time on impact.

Anyways, welcome back to Velocity

He was turned into an emo fag.

Well, I do, but I also see teenage goth lesbians, so it might be a regional thing.

Seriously, as there's no one "punk" look, it's hard to really discredit him on the grounds that you don't see it.

On the other hand, Cena's not a real rapper. Even most rap fans aren't that retarded. Despite all the insistance of fans, Taker is neither Goth nor a Satanist.

"Suburban Mall Punk" is a stereotype, and wrestling plays on and builds upon stereotypes. Faggots dress like women and prance around the ring, Muslims send out guys in ski masks, half the blacks are dancers or some similar shit, Rich guys are arrogant assholes, etc, etc, E. T. C.

Also, Shannon's not just ANY punk. He's gay.

punked and punk'd are longstanding references to the "bottom." Often in a...Less than aimiable situation.

Moore got a great shake. In his matches with Lesnar, he looked semi-credible. If he wasn't a Cruiserweight, he would have looked even moreso. Moore is awesome, and he got to do more in squash matches than most cruisers do in real matches.

They can't afford to throw out fans. They don't have enough to go around. I mean yes, they have more people showing up than seats for shows. however, if you start kicking out your fanbase, you lose one of the major things that seems to draw TNA fans...The notion that TNA listens to its fans. You also kick out fans who eat up seats you could have put other people in for, etc.

I'd actually like to see them try. I want to see if the fans will put up with it. The Impact Zone fans seem to be some form of mutant, but I really want to see how much they'll take. Because seriously, this is more retarded than the shit WWE pulls.

But yes, it's even harder to determine who a heel is now.

Why would WWE really want him? I can't imagine this:

Vince: We're losing fans. We need a star, I know, let's get Shannon Moore! He's great! Let's put the WWE championship on him!!!!!

Creative: That's a great idea Vince!

Vince: Well hire her quick!

Vince: Just pick anyone, I don't give a shit...

Creative #1 (getting back from speaking to Vince): He said we should just pick anyone....
