Yeah, not much to do in the middle of the night, Tom Nook's closed and Tortimer isn't there either, which is annoying, since I'm meant to talk to him.
|
This is annoying, every day when I get home from work I'm too exhausted to do anything so I just chill on WoW for a bit, so I haven't even played my DS online yet, or even gotten a friend code. Gonna try and get this ish sorted on the weekend since I'm pretty sure I have Sunday off.

Fuck the blue shell shit.
|
Come on, its not like either of those blue shells cost you the race, they simply allowed me to catch up.
|
Its pretty gay when you can see one on the map chasing you down, I was just sat there shitting myself trying to get across the line quickly
|
Who's gonna add me?
|
I have done.
|
For Mario Kart I've added:
Funky Mike Metal Hollywood Hansey Silent Just John Add me back. I'm not that great right now, but I will always have an awesome emblem |
Also if you do that drift trick (I've heard it been called snake and ice cream) I will not want to play you because that's annoying.
No, not going around turns. The ones who use that throughout the whole race so they keep getting that little speed burst. |

I've been online once, is animal crossing worth getting? is online on it fun? I had the gamecube version and loved it |
I've been in a real Animal Crossing mood lately. Anyone still play it? I'll dig up my friend code later if people still are interested in this ishh and wanna dick around.
|
Animal Crossing is a good game. If you have it on gamecube and played it a lot don't bother with it. I had it on Gamecube and played all the time, then got it on DS and played it only for a little bit. Just is more or less the same, online is alright, nothing to exciting. Yeah people can come visit, but nothing really to do together while in town besides talk and ruin each others town as my friend and I usually do. Recall other month went back to DS version, picked out all my weeds, played for two days and stopped playing again. Probably all weeded up again like a mofo. My town has the worst people in it though, nothing but fucking cats. In cube version I had some pimp ass Eagle as my best friend, then he fucking moved. Same with DS, had this pimp ass monkey or ape or gorilla and he moved out on me. Interested to see what they will do with the Wii version.
|
Yeah I hope they make the Wii one more MMO-esque, like have one big centralized town or something, and you just have your house built in it or whatever.
|
Yeah I was just thinking it be kind of cool to have like a community town. Like how 4 people could live in same town on Cube/DS version, same with Wii but it can be online. Since the WiiConnect24 is supposed to be used with Animal Crossing it could possibly work, where there could be say a TPWW town where a handful of people can live in it with the regular cast of animals. Would make it a little more interesting I think. They really need something different in it to make it good, I wish it never came out on Cube in some ways. Imagine I'd really have gotten into it with the DS version, cause it works great as a handheld game.
But yeah, as I said need something more to the game. Visiting other towns online isn't even that special on DS, if that is all they offer on Wii I doubt I'd buy it. My community idea seems like next step, hopefully with some sort of optional quests too. |
Yeah for sure. What would be REALLY neat is if the "communities" were broken up by real life demographics. If the Everybody Votes Channel is any indication, they have adequate means to break up areas where players are residing, and as such could possibly be able to put a cap on how many people are in a community (so it doesn't just read "oh this player is from Canada, so is this one, let's put them in a community, resulting in a huge clogged mess).
I like what you're thinking too, where you can make your own community. Like if you add a friend's friend code, and it's mutually accepted by all players in the community then they have the option of "moving in", or whatever. Of course, it also kind of opens up the question of, if they do end up doing something like that, would it eliminate the need for NPC animals? Obviously Tom Nook, Pelly, etc would still be there, but with other players to converse with it seems like having the random animal neighbours would seem more a strain on resources than actually necessary. |
Well it depends how many people are in the town. I think the animals are still necessary to make it interesting. Cause really, at night there is nothing to do in Animal Crossing but talk to the other animals. They could easily make a larger map, additionally there doesn't need to be 9 or whatever animals in a town. I assume you have played online on DS, not sure what you do when you visit or somebody visits. But really nothing to do together besides fish and shit, basically just two people in same area.
But if you had, say 4 people able to live in their own AC town together online, it could work exactly like the other AC games. The fun would be posting bulletins, sending letters and having the animals show letters sent to other town members. There are a lot of other possibilities as well, but the other animals are very necessary in my opinion. Plus I'm not sure how much I like the idea of everyone living in a community. I think a better idea would be, hopping on the train and going to some special AC regional town where you can interact with random people. Maybe have some games to play, much like PS3 Home concept with pool and stuff. But we also have to realize Nintendo is very scared about pedophiles and shit like that, and with AC being labeled a "kid game" they aren't going to allow strangers to chat away with each other, or atleast I highly doubt that. Plus if you take out the other animals, what else is there really to do. Most of the fun online would really come from interacting with them, and having the animal talk to other people in community about you. They could have animals ask questions like "what is your favorite ice cream?" or something lame like that, you answer and they may share it with other friends. I think having a limit of 4 or 6 real people in a town would be best, still having random animals. Also having some special other town for the community to visit could be an interesting concept, but personally I wouldn't want to live with 40 people who live by me. |
Yeah I see what you're saying. I'd assume that in the Wii version, if they do end up making it more socially interactive, that they'd add more things you could do with other players. Otherwise it would seem like a very empty game. Like give you the option to trade furniture and stuff, or like have a fishing tournament or something.
I think you're right though, wouldn't really work sans NPC animals. I like that idea of a regional town you have to go to. Have it kind of like the Mii Plaza on the Wii, only obviously with more stuff to do than stand around. |
Yeah, I think the idea of some special games that could be played together with people would be good. Especially with the WiiMote, stuff like Pool or Darts, while they were both out (Wii Play and Wario Warez) they could just come up with some games like that to make it more fun. Hopefully they come up with some new stuff though, cause I could go either way on getting it or not, cause I hardly played AC:WW enough. But if all it turns out to be is an upgrade where you can visit towns when people aren't even playing it, I doubt I'd buy it.
|
Yeah I'm in the exact same boat. I love the AC series, but when Wii titles cost $70 a pop, it's hard to justify dropping that on a game that doesn't really offer much new.
|
Well...
