http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...9/DOAmovie.jpg
Kasumi - Possibly Helena - Unknown - Tina - Ayane

Discuss. Laugh. Whatever.

Blitz 03-25-2006 06:18 PM

Could be the worst video game movie since Alone in the Dark :y:

Funky Fly 03-25-2006 06:26 PM

Way to take a game with virtually no story and turn it into Charlie's Angels 3.

HeartBreakMan2k 03-26-2006 02:04 AM

I agree with Funky. Also, worst promo shot ever

Drakul 03-26-2006 02:10 AM

Who will play Bass? I told some guy I used to know that Hogan left WWE because he was in the process of shooting the DOA movie as Bass or Basses father. This was years ago about 2002 or 3. Can't remember. The guy beileved me. :|

I was hoping for a Pete Burns biopic. :'(

Danny Electric 03-26-2006 01:01 PM

Haha Matthew Marsden, ex Corrie actor who lives down the road from me.
Gonna be so bad.

Kalyx triaD 03-26-2006 05:35 PM

Call me a fucked up jack-ass; but the wacky-ass direction they're taking just might be... Entertaining...

Could be worth a sneak-in or DVD rental. But my God; way to destroy a videogame's chance at the big screen. How did Tecmo let it get that far?

D Mac 03-26-2006 06:09 PM

3 words...

Soul Calibur Movie.

Kalyx triaD 03-26-2006 06:17 PM

It's been in production limbo for years. I last heard Samo Hung was involved and it was CGI or something.

Funky Fly 03-26-2006 06:22 PM

Soul Calibur would make a half decent anime at best.

Blitz 03-26-2006 06:46 PM

Isn't Ayane supposed to be japanese?

GRRR

The Rock could play Zasalamel (spelling, whatever).

Orlando Bloom or somebody like that could play Siegfried.

Astraroth and Nightmare could be computer generated.

Kalyx triaD 03-26-2006 07:22 PM

Orlando Bloom = Siegfried?!? No, no. Rethink that.

I think Zhang Ziyi/Xianghua is perfect casting.

Tony Jaa could probably do a good Kilik.

Maxi... Gotta think on that one.

Blitz 03-26-2006 07:40 PM

Yeah, Orlando Bloom is nowhere near badass enough for Sig.

Blitz 03-26-2006 07:41 PM

And of course, Olcadan played by the O Rly Owl.

Note the "someone like that"

With the whole "knight" look.

Forget it. It's a disaster waiting to happen. It'll be Street Fighter with better CGI.

Blitz 03-27-2006 12:56 AM

Well, Street Fighter didn't have a very cinematic storyline.

94 SVT Cobra 03-27-2006 11:18 AM

Very possibly the worst VG to movie ever. perhaps the BEST use of young hot actresses weve never heard of beacuse this is the only role there agents could get them wiht litte experince.

D Mac 03-27-2006 04:18 PM

KK could be Siegfried. :shifty:

You've seen Jamie Presley in plenty of places; you just didn't care. She's the token Hot Girl. Sadly, this is her biggest role.

Talim is pretty badass.

Except that she's on "My Name Is Earl," which is a pretty big hit.

Her biggest movie role, though, for sure.

And Devon Aoki was in "Sin City."

Blitz 07-17-2006 06:43 PM

Trailer's out

http://www.moviesonline.ca/movienews_8408.html

ROFL

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2006 07:58 PM

Post number ten, my good man.

Post. Number. Ten.

Blitz 07-17-2006 08:05 PM

Zuh?

How on earth did I miss that?

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2006 08:57 PM

To be fair, the word "Trailer" isn't in the post; so you may have looked over it.

Fignuts 07-18-2006 12:11 AM

Upon further deliberation, the producers have opted to change the name of the film. It will now be known as:

Cliche': The Movie

also, lol at Kevin Nash being the biggest name out there.

Drakul 07-19-2006 05:01 AM

The biggest mistake they keep making in the whole movies of games thing is they pick games with little to no story. There are lots of games out there with great long stories and characters. Besides that characters never resemble who they are supposed to be and stuff so it's lose/lose.

I remember watching the Mario movie when it came out and getting all annoyed that Goombas and Koopa Troopas where 7 foot tall lizards dressed like Uncle Fester.

Kalyx triaD 07-19-2006 05:10 AM

Let's not bring the Mario movie into this.

I recently read that the Halo script got rejected (months after it's much reported delivery; did it take months to read?). The new guy they got writing another take on Halo speaks about being fateful to the game vs cinematic presentaion:

I agree with him abit. But the question comes to mind; "When did Hollywood ever stay true to the source material?" Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill remained very fateful to their respective sources and I must say, I have no complaints. Then again, Resident Evil flipped alot of material and it turned out well; but it's sequel, which stayed close to the game, was less quality. I guess it comes down to how you handle it.

Shaggy 06-16-2007 01:34 AM

Just went and saw this movie today...thats right...I actually woke up this morning with seeing this movie in mind..and then willingly went to the theater and forked over $6 to see it...

and I liked it...

It seemed like it had the fighting from Mortal Kombat and a wacky storyline like Street Fighter...and I love both those movies so I ended up loving this movie...

Plus it was funny to see Kevin Nash in this movie...

Jura 06-16-2007 01:47 AM

Parts of it were stupid and I think a lot of the characters were cast wrong but I kind of liked it and the women were hot. That Holly Valance...

Shaggy 06-16-2007 02:03 AM

Yea..tons of hotness....

unlike Fantastic Four 2 which is just a crap load of product placement

Kalyx triaD 06-16-2007 12:20 PM

Well go figure, two pos-reviews. Let's hear it for Cory Yuen.

Super V 06-16-2007 02:05 PM

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The fighting was good.

Boondock Saint 06-17-2007 04:50 AM

No intention of seeing this but I will marry Sarah Carter one day.

Mr Regal 06-17-2007 07:35 PM

Just watched it. I didn't like it.
