RED SOXXXXXXXXXXX Part 4

Anyone not rooting for the Red Sox this season loves the cock

What'd you think I'd forget?

YOUR Hero 04-02-2006 08:03 PM

Aaron Boone sends his greetings

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-02-2006 08:13 PM

Aaron Boone goes with Bill Buckner and Babe Ruth - They don't matter anymore in regards to the Red Sox.

He is still a d-bag for hitting that homerun though

The Miz 04-02-2006 08:18 PM

Congrats on your 3rd place finish this year

YOUR Hero 04-02-2006 08:30 PM

Question: How many times does Manny asked to be traded this year?

The Miz 04-02-2006 08:31 PM

5.03, equal to Curt Schilling's ERA

How many times will he not get traded?

and then hit 40+ HRs and over 100 RBIs?

Question: How many times does Manny misplay a fly ball this year?

BCWWF 04-03-2006 01:02 AM

The thing about Aaron Boone, he didn't even win the World Series and practically the whole Red Sox team he knocked out did. Therefore, as much as I prefer other teams over Red Sox, I have to say Red Sox > Aaron Boone in the long run.

And if the Mariners were a 1st place team, I'd probably make a thread about them. But they aren't, which is why they don't deserve one, same reaosn why the Red Sox don't either.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 02:27 AM

I've been making a Red Sox post for 3 seasons staright so I really don't care if you would or wouldn't make a topic about Seattle. I would think you were just copying my idea, The Miz doesn't think the Red Sox 'deserve' their own topic NOOOO

I think Schilling will continue to pitch well this season, I could be wrong but who knows. For some reason you know for sure that he'll have a bad year though, since you've saying it ever since post-2004 season, totally ignoring the fact that he didn't have an offseason program before the 2005 season where as this year he did. You hatred for the Red Sox (for whatever reason) is funny, but we'll see what happens at the end of the season.

Also the reason why people bring up the Mariners is because, lets just say if you kept talking shit about my car, I'd be like "Well its better than yours" than you'd be like "What does my car have to do with anything? I was just talking about how your car sucks" It is the exact samething, I don't understand why you don't understand about that. Its pretty obvious but I guess us Red Sox fans aren't too bright.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 02:28 AM

And if you were a White Sox fan, I wouldn't say anything because the White Sox are the better team right now, much like if you talked shit about my car, and your car was actually better..I wouldn't have much to say, would I?

"Have fun with your 3rd place finish"

Why exactly is wrong to say "How fun with your 4th place finish" back to you? Just some good old fashion sport shit talking, dunno why people in this forum act like lillllll bitches sometimes

Boondock Saint 04-04-2006 08:36 PM

Wake, what's goin on? Talk to me, man. :(

McDoogle 04-04-2006 08:47 PM

I think it's pretty obvious from the performance of the Blue Jays tonite that they are indeed going to win the World Series quite easily.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 09:48 PM

Fucking Wakefield got shelled. Atleast the Sox new catcher proved he can catch the knuckleball...when it is 3 feet off the plate in the dirt. Hopefully this is just a one time thing for him, they said they always pitches bad in Texas or something too. Hopefully that is all it was, or his knuckler was just off. Need a big year from Wake for the Sox to be succesful.

The Miz 04-04-2006 10:12 PM

Stima, your logic makes no sense. "Congrats on your 3rd place finish this year". If you disagree, why don't you make your case on why? What you should do is state your side and why you think the Red Sox will finish 1st or 2nd, but instead you come back with "Well your team sucks worse!" That makes it sound like you have nothing to say about my Red Sox 3rd place comment (ie: you think I'm right), so you come back with something unrelated. If you think I'm wrong, argue your point, you graduated 1st grade about 15 years ago so you should be able to come up with something better than a "Oh yeah... well, so are you" comment

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 10:59 PM

What are you talking about? I'm not even the one who brought up Seattle, and I never do. I'm just saying, its not like its totally out of the line for people to do it. You simply came into this post and talked shit about the Red Sox, why aren't people allowed to talk about your favorite team when you shit on theres? Why is it againest the rules or something? I really don't understand your logic about this. Plus you aren't even right, I highly doubt the Red Sox will finish in third place in the East, you can post all the stats about how this guy will do this and how this guy will do that but If I was a betting man I'd put some serious money on the Red Sox finishing in atleast 2nd place in the AL East. I have my reasons why I think the Red Sox will be succesful, Schilling will be back to his old form, Josh Beckett will hopefully be able to stay off the DL and be a huge factor this year, not to mention they added a Goldglove 3rd basmen and improved their defense at the rest of the infield positions. I think Coco Crisp has played great thus far in 2 games and I don't see any reason why this will change, I don't think the drop off from Damon will even effect themthat much. All the Red Sox have done this season is made a lot of improvements, and somehow they are worse? They made it to the playoffs last year with Schilling pitching horrible and Foulke pitching like garbage. Now they also have some insurance incase Foulke starts off like garbage again. Yeah they got a few question marks but so don't a lot of teams, I'd be real surprsied if they didn't have a good season.

BCWWF 04-04-2006 11:30 PM

I think the Red Sox warrant this custom thread every summer purely because a good portion of the board is from that area. This way, the Red Sox banter and a lot of the Yankees stuff doesn't fill up the other thread. It's like ESPN.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 01:04 AM

Been doing this shit for years my friend and I would do it if the Red Sox where in 1st place or 4th place.

It was here when the Red Sox lost to the Yanks in game 7 2003 and it was here when Red Sox beat the Yankees in Game 7 2004 (one of the happiest moments of my life I think)

BCWWF 04-05-2006 12:15 PM

I was here when Steve Austin defeated the Undertaker via pinfall to win the World Heavyweight Title on Raw is War.

McDoogle 04-05-2006 12:25 PM

I was here when the Blue Jays won consecutive WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 12:27 PM

IT WILL BE HERE WHEN THE RED SOX WIN THE 2006 WORLD SERIES

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 12:28 PM

WOOOO 2 GAMES INTO THE SEASON YEAH

weather vane 04-05-2006 12:29 PM

When we win another World Series i'm gonna laugh. Also when Ortiz wins MVP.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 12:34 PM

I think this years MVP race will come down to Ortiz and A-Rod again, but A-Rod playing the field hurts Ortiz. Same goes with Manny, he isn't a very good outfielder so that has always hurt him (especially when he drove in 160 runs)

FakeLaser 04-05-2006 06:18 PM

Ortiz would have to put up MUCH better numbers than A-Rod to win the MVP, which probably won't happen. A-Rod had a better year last year without even taking defense into account.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 10:21 PM

Yeah, he batted .021 higher than Ortiz. Ortiz drove in more runs, and also had ton of clutch hits (34 RBI that put his team ahead [most in AL] plus eight RBI from the seventh inning on that gave Boston the lead for good) I think they are pretty had a pretty comparable season on offense, A-Rod won the gold glove though and that's why he won it.

The Miz 04-05-2006 10:29 PM

Batting average is irrelevant. ARod's OBP was 24 points higher

YOUR Hero 04-05-2006 10:36 PM

Can't Ortiz play 1st everyday? I mean is their something physically wrong with him I don't know about :?:

The Miz 04-05-2006 10:42 PM

No, but he might be the worst defensive 1st basemen ever

BCWWF 04-05-2006 10:50 PM

He injured himself every second he played for the Twins, might as well keep him where he is effective and not worry about MVP awards.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 10:54 PM

Yeah Ortiz CAN play first, I remember last year they put him at first a few times. He also played in the World Series. Isn't exactly a Gold Glover tho haha

Papelbon came in for close tonight instead of Foulke...got 2 quick outs so far...lets see what happens here

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 10:54 PM

STRIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 3

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 10:54 PM

Make fucking Papelbon the closer, his fastball isn't 86, isn't that enough reason?

I am sure this will be all over the Boston Papers tomorrow too, gonna have a field day with this.

Boondock Saint 04-05-2006 11:35 PM

Papelbon was sweet. Yeah my boy Trot with the 2run homer. I thought Beckett did well too.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-06-2006 01:54 AM

7 innings and 1 run

Looks pretty good to me

BCWWF 04-06-2006 04:27 PM

Fluke

The Miz 04-06-2006 07:19 PM

Well Kyle Lohse is a fluke

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-06-2006 11:30 PM

What was a fluke? Beckett doing good or Papelbon?

Neither of them is a fluke if you ask me. Beckett has always proved to be a good pitcher, just his injuries have gotten the best of him and I think Papelbon will be great in the closer role until Hanson is ready for the big leagues.

BCWWF 04-07-2006 12:58 AM

(Kidding)

Kyle Lohse = This years John Garland

Hopefully

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-08-2006 06:24 PM

Foulke had a 1-2-3 9th last night. Wasn't even close to a save situation, but good to see that. Still though, I'd rather just have Papelbon. Foulkes style always makes it way too interesting at the end. It always seems like he gets saves by getting guys to "pop out" to the warning track and stuff like that.

Boondock Saint 04-08-2006 06:36 PM

Foulke's style makes me way too nervous at the end.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-08-2006 10:30 PM

Wow Schilling is awful

YOUR Hero 04-08-2006 11:17 PM

Schilling is done.

If we stay healthy we got it. Crisp is out for a bit but Stern is more than capable to step in.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-11-2006 02:00 AM

Damn just tried to buy tickets online, was hopeful for a random single game ticket for like a Tampa Bay game or something but everything is sold out wow fuck. Unless I wanna play 90 dollars to go to a Baltimore game on the 6th of May :-\

Boondock Saint 04-11-2006 10:10 PM

Goddamn it Nixon. You better be ok. You and Crisp are going to screw me in fantasy.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-11-2006 11:24 PM

Nixon must be back on the sauce haha

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-13-2006 12:41 AM

Coco and Ortiz lockeddddd up for the next few years

David Wells is a lil bitch though, had a post game interview saying how he thought the crowd was saying "Boomer" and not booing him after he gave up 2 homeruns in the first inning. I wish they would just trade him honestly, hes such a d-bag. Last couple of games each starter has posted like a 1 ER then Wells blows that..what does he expect? This isn't San Diego

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-13-2006 08:23 PM

To make my night even better, I just got written up at a party at school...awesome

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-13-2006 10:28 PM

Gertner 04-21-2006 11:22 PM

hahahah nice bullpen ass holes.

just liek last year blue jays> Red sox

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-21-2006 11:30 PM

lol right

That was a pretty good game even though the Red Sox lost. Manny is back with 2 homers, Beckett didn't pitch as well as he has been but I think he should have been pulled after the 7th then he woulda only had 2 ER. Oh well though, Papelbon pitched real good in relief again, things are looking good except for a few shaky guys in the pen.

btw, 95-67 > 80-82

Gertner 04-22-2006 12:00 AM

we owned your ass last season. and for far 3-1 jays.......Kinda sucks when you line up consists of two guys carrying the team

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-22-2006 02:01 AM

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Manny hasn't done shit all year until tonights game, yet they are in first place of the AL East (not like it really matters whos in first right now but it shows that they have been winning) and they will finish ahead of the Blue Jays in the standings. As for that 2 player thing, uhh what about Coco Crisp, Jason Varitek, Kevin Youkilis (you checked his stats this year?) Mark Loretta or Trot Nixon? Or how about Schilling, Beckett, Papelbon? Yeah all those guys are awful. Everyone loves talking about how bad the Red Sox are here at TPWW, but we'll see what happens at the end of the season.

Jays won 11 outta the 18 meetings between the 2 teams last year I believe, so while they had a few more wins than the Red Sox head to head wouldn't exactly call it "kicking their asses" when the Sox finished up with 15 more wins and made it to the playoffs.

Boondock Saint 04-22-2006 02:11 AM

Them Orioles ain't doin too bad either.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-22-2006 02:16 AM

Blue Jays and Cubs both had over .600 win pct versus the Red Sox last season, both teams are so much better than Boston!!!

Gertner 04-22-2006 12:46 PM

lol good luck with Dinardo starting against Halladay tonight hahahahaha. Nice starting rotation you got there

lol i know because all those wins against world beaters Tampa bay, Texas and Seattle are really amazing. The team worthwhile that you've played this year is Toronto and we've handed you your asses

Yeah but I've been reading in the paper that Wells is thinking about retiring. Obviously they aren't going to stick with DiNardo as a starter, that leaves open the door for Wills/Clemens  Atleast I am hopeful for those two haha, still expecting eitherway to pick up some one pretty dece.

Losing last night sucked, becase that is a game they should have won, and today you don't really expect to win, since Halladay is one of the top pitchers in the MLB.

Maybe the Blue Jays could finally do something after 8 years of the Yankees and Red Sox finishing 1-2 atop the AL east standings. I don't think so though, Burnett is already injuried and a lot of people said the samething about last Baltimore last year (Although I do think the Jays are better then last years O's)

YOUR Hero 04-22-2006 01:52 PM

I think AJ has to stop over throwing the ball. It's getting him injured.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-22-2006 02:57 PM

Damn Dinardi gave up 10 H and 7 ER in 3 innings. Everybody is gonna be jumping all over the Arroyo trade now, especially with Wells talking about retirement. Hopefully this opens the door for Clemens.

Gertner 04-22-2006 03:02 PM

yeah nice line up stima. YOUR TEAM IS A FRAUD!!!

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-22-2006 03:26 PM

Have one blow out win and fans think their team is the greatest team ever. So if the Red Sox are as bad as you say, then how come every other game has been decided by 1 or 2 runs? What does that say about the Jays?

The Miz 04-22-2006 04:07 PM

The Red Sox have played well for 17 out of 162 games. Lets wait until at least deep into May until this kind of discussion

ct2k 04-22-2006 05:39 PM

Miz has a point. There's still guys hitting over 400, and Albert Pujols is on course for about 90 home runs right now, lets let things settle a little!

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-22-2006 05:50 PM

I totally agree with you guys, things look pretty good thusfar but obviously shit can change. Especially with injuries and things like that. I don't read too much into wins or loses in April. I pay attention to more stuff like who has been pitching well, how the bullpen is shaping up, how the team looks in close games(Foulke blowing one, allowing Papelbon to come into the mix) etc. Manny Declareman is being brought up for the next game, so it'll be interesting to see how he throws. I am all for a young guy if he is throwing better than some "crafty veteran"

YOUR Hero 04-22-2006 05:58 PM

Rios has a higher AVG than he does an OBP. You don't very often, if at all. Still early, I know, but weird to look up his stats and see something like that.

ct2k 04-22-2006 06:01 PM

Oscar Villareal already has like 4 wins and he's pitched about 8 innings

How is that possible? Like I thought that was impossible for the OBP to lower than the AVG since the average consists of someone getting a hit and being on base..no?

The Miz 04-22-2006 08:01 PM

It is only possible if you have more sac flies than walks.

Gertner 04-23-2006 12:06 PM

lol friggen rios has 1 walk and 3 sac flies. nice patience at the plate rios

YOUR Hero 04-23-2006 01:19 PM

yeah because he's had 3 sac flies it's not an official at bat in terms of AVG, but it does count in the OBP. Same thing for walks, just in the opposite of effects.

Give the .400 hitter a break.

The guy's lifetime OBP is terrible (.324). He does need to start showing patience if he wants to be an everyday player the rest of his career.
