Official Ultimate Fighter 3 thread (Spoilers, duh)
This season has been going pretty damned strong so far. I'm still not sure how Ortiz and Shamrock have been able to stand each other so far. Right now the teams are tied. Alot of people couldn't believe Noah beating Jesse but I knew it was gonna happen the whole time (As I won $20 off of the fight with my friends). I could tell by looking at the two who was going to win. Jesse is really spontaneous and doesn't think things through alot. Noah seemed more like the guy that would basically stay nuetral until a perfect opportunity was given to him. That's exactly what happened. Noah was getting pounded for awhile but kept calm, kept his composure, waited for his spot, found it, and then submitted Jesse rather easily. Awesome fight. I love finishes like that.
Anyways... what have you al thought of the season so far? |
Ortiz loves the deaf kid. His work ethic n such. We are getting to know the fighters a lot more this season without the competitions.
Awesome so far. Apparently only gonna get better. Especially with the Brits holding it up. And at least one of them is gonna be there for a long time.
Good stuff so far. I'm liking Noah.
They couldn't have asked for a better result than that Noah/Jesse fight. Jesse was just a huge prick who got his mouth shut. Noah just listened to his coach and did what he was supposed to do.

My bet would be Michael Bisping |

Good season so far, can't really tell how it matches up to the other two quite yet though. I liked Season 1 better than I did Season 2 for sure though. This season does look promising however. BTW, I hope Noah loses his next fight.
Noah reminds me of a really buff, less wierd Luke Cummo.
I'm quite disapointed they don't do challenges now.
I like it and I hate it. The challenges were entertaining but I kinda like this whole "Winner chooses next fight" deal. There is finally an added bonus to the team for members winning.
Noah isn't really a nerd. He just wears glasses, and isn't a prick.
I seriously want someone to stomp Tait Fletcher's face in. He's such a fucking homo. |
I like the fact that they spend the whole episode building up to the fight now, instead of like 10 minutes.

It's been aiight..
I like the deaf kid and the black guy that's missing teeth.. |
Who's fletcher? what did he do?
Ortiz and Shamrock are seriously the best showmen in the world. They play off each other like fucking magic. This season is fucking great.

Oh yeah I hope noah kicks his ass.
Hughes takes on Gracie? (bot off topic here)
Tito chose the next fight. He chose the Brit, Ross from Shamrock's team and from his team he chose Kendall. Big height advantage for Kendall. Interesting how they've got so much more personal info this season. I love it. Fight is 40 minutes from now :D Can't wait.
This Ross guy needs to cut weight for the next day and he's ignoring his trammates. LOL, I hope this guys isn't going to miss the weigh in like that jackass last year.
Goddamn. Kendall fucked him up.
Beat him good. Rob, you're down to 1 Brit.
I hope Ed Herman gets choked out sometime soon.
Good god, that wasn't even close. Kendall destroyed him. Ross made way too many mistakes for it even to be a fair fight. He didn't listen to his corner at all (except for a weak kidney punch), and gave up his back twice. In short, Ross got fucked up.
Kendall is a damned good fighter. Laid waste to Ross. It's a shame Ross is done though, he was a good personality.
Man, that team dagger shit has to stop lol. SERIOUSLY I like Rory Singer, probably because he trains with Forrest Griffin, and you can tell he doesn't take himself too seriously. Ed Herman is hilarious. I like how Tito was all "fuck I can't believe I didn't choose this kid, meh...now I'm gonna fuck with him every week". This season= wayyyyyy better than last. Every fight has had a finish. |
Shamrock just looks like a terrible coach.
Hopefully this dagger alliance won't screw too many people over.

I hope Royce gets his ass beat at UFC 60. that dude was cheap in the early days.
Oh yeah, I predict Royce is gonna get handled. Hughes won't get caught in any stupid submissions.
Quote:
Also Hughes is going to destroy Gracie. |
He might know what he's doing, but that might not be the best thing. Sure doesn't look like it btw.
I hope Gracie beats Hughes. I don't consider Gracie to have been cheap in the early days of UFC, he was an innovator. He changed the way MMA was fought, in fact the way it's still fought. I mean shit, back in the day he was beating guys with arm locks and the announcers didn't even understand why his opponents were tapping out. It wasn't until replays that they'd see him cinching in the arm bar or whatever. Hughes is a big mouth to boot.
Tito is coming off as a way better person than I thought he was. It's not just the fighters that you learn about, but these two coaches. I hope Shamrock's reason for no showing on the next episode is legit and not just him not showing up. |
I think Kimo woulda beat gracies ass if Gracie wasn't pulling on his hair.
Kimo is a bum.
not against the rules.
not to mention that in the early days, these guys would fight 3-4 times in an event to be crowned UFC champ.

As for the show, I think Ross was too over confident in his KO power which is something else to be fair. Probably the strongest and fastest hands on the show. His submission skills are piss poor. 4 out of 5 last losses before the show by submission. I put a hell of a lot of the blame on Ken Shamrock. The guy is a fucking disgrace. How can he give his fighters so much rest, tell Ross his ground game sucks and then know he is gonna be fighting and not teach him a single submission attempt or escape? His team mates tried to do more to help Ross than he did. His attitude on the show has been absolutely piss poor. The fact he doesn't show up for training, nor send any of his staff either is mind blowing. And he has the nerve to question Tito Ortiz's attitude? Ortiz never pulled off anything this unprofessional. Anything he never did was to hype his fights. I was dying for Ortiz to smash his face in come July but now it's Griffin vs. Shamrock on that show so that will probably be the last we ever see of Slamcock. Not a day too soon either. Can wait for next weeks show. Bisping should bash that deaf cunt into the floor. :D |
Quote:
Shamrock's excuse might be legit next week. Things happen so that's cool. What isn't cool though is why the 2 other guys didn't show up or why nobody told the guys training was cancelled and that they had to take it into their own hands. Luckily they are smart enough to do so. Ortiz must be lapping it up after this. |
wait. Ortiz and Shamrock aren't fighting each other now?
Nope. Ortiz can't get back to 100% for July because of his knee tears. The winner of Shamrock vs. Griffin will fight Ortiz but I'd strongly favour Griffin to KO Shamrock now. I'm pretty sure it's the last fight on Ken's deal too.

I'm psyched for tonight. I hope we get to see Tait get his ass handed to him.
I hope Solomon trips over his own feet and has to pull out the show. I fucking hate Team Dagger with a vengeance already. And with any luck, we'll see Michael Bisping get a win back for us Brits :D
I really want to see Michael Bisping fight :'(
haha, they are turning Tito babyface and Shamrock heel in this.
They are going to edit shit and make it seem like Ken doesn't really care about anything. lol. |
Ken is certainly coming off like a shitty coach.
And no doubt Bisping's gonna fuck Kristian up. |
Wow. Literally a bloodbath.
That was an asskicking
Man, he fucked him up every which way possible. He is a serious motherfucker, there is no doubt about that.
I think Bisping'll win the contract. If he does, the ufc's got a new helluvan exciting fighter on their hands. |
Bisping is awsome. If I could invest money in people I would put all my money on him.
He's a star in the making. |
Yeah he is going to be good.
Kristian really didn't do as bad as they made it out to seem. He got two key takedowns on Bisping, who is supposedly a great wrestler. The main thing Kristian had working against him was his conditioning.
An impressive win by Bisping nonetheless. |
He got pumped pretty bad.

I don't remember hearing anything special about Bisping's wrestling. |
Missed the latest episode. Bloody work.

My favorite is Matt so far. The kid just goes in there and does what he's suppossed to do. I know he's probably gonna go down and there's gonna be some touching moment when he leaves.
Quote:
I like him to though :-\ Just being super supportive of the Brit. |

Quote:
Don't know if Matt makes it past the first round to be honest. Be shocked if he didn't though.
Everyone here is busting their load prematurely over Bisping. He's good, he won his fight and all... but damn, I really didn't think he was THAT great. I expect Matt to take him out quite easily to tell the truth.
I wanna see that Ed Herman guy go down real quick
Quote:
lol...are those hints to the spoilers you know about? Bisping had a good fight ..it'll be hard to take him out. I think Grove or maybe Herman will win the middleweight, but Herman seems like a hothead who can get careless. And either Shamrock's coaching sucks or the editing is making it seem that way...but the fighters have been complaining too so.. |
Quote:
Quote:
I missed his reason for being away what was it?
Quote:
I heard Matt Hamill's wrestling style is not like Mark Coleman or even Kevin Randleman, apparently he is known for devestating and injuring his opponents as opposed to doing just takedowns and lay and praying. I want to see this to be honest.
Fuck, I hope Rory destroys Solomon. Can't stand him.
LOL, that dagger shit is ridiculous.
rofl Rory kicked his ass.
ROFL "He won?"
This show is making Shamrock look like the worst coach in the world.
Great show tonight
So will the light go up in Shamrock's head finally...GET YOUR TEAM SOME FUCKIN CARDIO TRAINING. Solomon woulda tore Rory up if they were in opposite teams. But looks like Herman has an easy opponent, but who knows...he is afterall, in Shamrock's team.
Quote:
God damn Shamrock, get those guys running some laps. |
Shamrock is a terrible coach and will just get pumped by Forrest.
Shamrock and Tito is back on apparently
RIGHT ON!
He showed good strategy. Tito was a great corner guy, just telling Rory to weather the storm. Because of that, when round 2 came, Rory was as fresh as how he started and Soloman was gassed to shit. At the end of the day, Solly boy got his ass handed to him, because he's a fuckwit.
TEAM DAGGER |
DAGGER
lol yeah, pretty funny that the guy talking the most shit got beaten by the nurse. |
It's kind of wierd, Kendall seems like an alright guy...like he doesn't really annoy me that much, aside from that he is kind of efeminite in appearance...but that doesn't matter because he's beat my ass in about 3 seconds. I don't see why he's boys with that faggot Soloman...editing or no editting, Soloman just screams douchebag.
Yeah, talking trash the whole time and then he gets his ass kicked.
Also, Tito Ortiz was great playing the mind games with Ed Herman. |
The best part was that it was the quiet Jewboy who ktfoed him too
Quote:
Because he's black and people think they are cooler if they have a gangsta black friend. |
Quote:
Shamrock came off looking like a total jerkoff starting nothing with Tito. Why does he keep telling Tito to remember the last fight? Tito knows he whooped Kenny all over the shop. Kenny should remembering the mess his face was. He is in sooooo much trouble in July. And Rory is a dead man when the semi's roll around. All the other middleweights who already fought would have killed him. Even Ross and he had zero ground game. |
Rory was in complete control to be honest. He got put on his back and went into textbook back defense. Solomon couldnt get a clean shot at all and wore himself down trying. Second round Rory caught him with a kick ( more like knee to the head ) and Solomon dropped. It wasnt really a fight to me.
Soloman was probably right too. With more conditioning he probably could have won by just putting Rory on his back and punching.
yeah, Soloman looked cracked after the first round. i didnt think Rory would knock him out, though. i expected Rory to win by submission later in the second round.
so far, this season hasnt captivated me the way that season 2 did. i like the way that the fights are being set up. while it makes it so that all the good fights are likely to come later, at least this way everybody has to fight. the problem is that i dont really give a shit about any of the fighters. it's hard to care whether they win or lose. in the first season, i hated Leidman, and thought that Forest Griffin seemed pretty cool. in the second season, i was immediately able to get behind Rashad Evans, and also Luke Kumo was an interesting character. this season, i think maybe the remaining Brit seems to be a well rounded, tough fighter, but thats as far as it goes.
I disagree. This years show has been phenominal. Probably more characters last year but the heat on this show is friggin unbelievable. They are doing an amazing job of making you want to see guys fight.
Wow, I have the complete opposite reaction. Season 2 was pretty bad IMO. The only one in the whole house that I liked was Jorge. Most of the fights weren't very good and most of the fighters weren't very entertaining.
Season 3 on the other hand has had my interest since the beginning, and there are several fighters I'd like to see progress. I also think that the Rory/Solomon fight is the first one this season to even hit Rd 2, heh. |
This season has been fuckin awesome. Not one fight has gone down without an awesome finish. Caleb won by Stoppage. Noah won by armbar. Kendall destroyed Ross and won with a rear naked choke. Bisping put the hurt down on the N'Awlins dude. Rory knocked Soloman the fuck out.
I can't wait til Semis. |
Matt man is getting some heat next week. can't wait.
I love Michael Bisping
I agree this season is a lot better than season 2. Tito's mind games, Shamrock's lame coaching, their hatred towards one another, and without the competitions they focus more of what's happening in the house, hense we get to know the fighters a little better and it makes the fights more intruiging.
