Official WWE Backlash 2006 thread (4/30/06)

Here's the lineup:

WWE Championship Triple Threat Match John Cena vs. HHH vs. Edge

Shawn Michaels & "God" vs. Mr. McMahon & Shane McMahon

Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Rob Van Dam

Kane vs. Big Show

Women's Champion Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus

Carlito vs. Chris Masters

Ric Flair vs. Umaga

I've been pumped for this since the Raw after Mania. I feel this is the first single brand PPV for a long time where almost every match on the card has had a lengthy, decent build up to it. Apart from Flair/Umaga, all of these matches have been brewing well since Mania, unlike the usual last minute additions we get like a week before the event. Should be a good one. :y:

My predictions:

Cena pins Edge
"God" makes the hot tag and puts the McMahon's away
RVD goes over Shelton in a classic
Kane over Show
Mickie over Trish
Carlito over Masters
Umaga over Flair ( :( )

I swear if Flair lays down for Umaga, I may just have a heart attack.

This PPV is equally subdued and barmy.

The McMahon is God stuff has lost the plot, as has Kane.

But there's no excitement level whatsoever in this show.

This is Great American Bash-calibre so far.
