Bret Hart the greatest
He's gotta be the fucking man! Even as a big flair fan Bret Is God compared to flair i can admit this!
|
I thought the question was Bret is the greatest so I answered no.
|
Who is better then?
|
HBK and Austin
|
Fuck hbk omg you're retarded! Fuck you!
|
Give me a good reason why Bret Hart is better then HBK besides the one favorite reason by every hardcore Bret Hart mark.
"Bret is better then HBK, becasue HBK is a dick." Come on give me a good reason why Bret is better. |
Ummmm. I'm gonna say Ric Flair is since his catch phrase is "To be the man, you gotta beat the man." I don't know if Bret did cause my brain doesn't feel like thinking right now. So I voted no.

I would think of better reaqsons but i'm drunk so these will do. |

Angle is the greatest of all time in my opinion by the way. He can not only wrestle, but he's the complete package. Talking, brawling, high flying, comedy, seriousness, etc. He can get over as both a heel and a face and can play them both well (bar Cena). |
|
Omg can you not take a joke?
|
No.

Hart and HBK are about as equal as any two wrestlers could ever be. Comparing the two is difficult. You have Shawn who in the early/mid 90s was the more spectacular and flashy wrestler, while Bret was perhaps the most realistic and best technical style wrestler in the business. Both came up from similar backgrounds and similar circumstances and both were the first guys to really break the WWF main event as a "smaller" guy.
As an analogy, you could argue over who released the better album last year: for example, Coldplay or Kanye West? Rock/indie fans will tell you Coldplay; hip hop fans will tell you Kanye West. That doesn't make one album better than the other, they just excel in their specific genres. Some people like rock, in which Coldplay are arguably the premier group, and some people like hip hop, in which Kayne West is possibly regarded as the best. Some people like flashy, aerial wrestling and therefore Shawn was their king. Some people prefer a hard-hitting ground-based style, in which Bret had no peers. There is no right or wrong answer here. How good a performer somebody is (or even, sticking with the music comparison, how good a band are) is all in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. A song is neither good nor bad in itself. It is the opinion of the listener which assigns a level of quality to the track. That opinion might not neccessarily be matched by the next guy. That's why when somebodys says to me "Oh, how can you like LImp Bizkit? They suck!" I always say "No, they don't suck. Your opinion is that they suck". Because, philosophically speaking, they are unable to "suck". It is all based on opinion. Using this theory, it is quite possible for somebody to believe that The Big Show is the greatest wrestler of all-time. If somebody likes big, powerful giants wrestling, then the Big Show probably is the best of the lot. Slow, power wrestling may be their style of choice. In which case they would probably think both Bret AND Shawn were crap. I'm doing the classic NeanderCarl "what was my point in the first place?" thing again here... what was I getting at??? Anyway, take that as you will. You can argue until you are blue in the face as to who was the greatest of all time, but at the end of the day, you can have your opinion, as can others, but by definition of "opinion" there can never be an OFFICIAL answer. And so the fight will rage on... |

Bret is the best there is, was and ever will be. Fucking fact!
Bret is great, and he is the greatest. Pillman comes in at a close second, only due to lack of longevity. Fuck the rest of your opinions. |

Bret Hart is easily one of the best, but I hate Hart-Marks. Trying to argue with them that Bret was anything other then a god is about as futile as trying to tell a Cena mark that John is a wigger wanna be, or getting a Hogan mark to admit that McMahon made Hulkamania. |
Bret was sub-par on the mic. Bret was godly in the ring.
That's all I have to say on the matter. |
JOHN CENA FTW
|
Bret had little-to-no mic skills but was great in the ring.
HBK has both covered. I voted "No". |
Shut up Slugsssss. I'd ban u if Spinal Tap wasn't on my iPod right now.
Tpnioght I'm Gonna Rock Ya. |
Bret is great, but not the greatest.
HBK is greater, but not the greatest. Benoit is the greatest. |

I think Flair Wooo has made his point by now... |

Bret is the original back-bone 2 which today v call techn wrestling. I think i will have 2 take a second birth in order 2 see him wrestle angle man It would b like seeing ....okay cant compare it 2 anything
|
Even though I voted yes, I don't believe that there is a single greatest wrestler. Everyone has their oppinions on who they like and who they don't. Unless we differentitate every wrestler that has appeared on T.V then we cannot say a certain one wrestler is the best. Bret has great technical skills but no mic skills, and HBK has better mic skills and above average in-ring skills. Its an arguement that could last forever if we wanted it to.
|
i disagree i think bret had great mic skills - he pissed america off with it..and his acting during his in-ring promos where more believable than the crap we see today..remember after WM13 his wicked promo then twisting hbk into a gay prezel on the ring post? Bret could cut a really good promo..well much better than a retard : thhhee...CHAMMMP..ISSSs... HERREEEe!
dear god..cena makes me wanna stab myself as punishment for watching shit like that |

Take a guy like BG James. Good on the mic. Charismatic dude. But his promos are comic. Nothing else at all. That doesn't make him better than a Bret Hart. Doesn't make him worse either. |
I love Bret, he's my favorite of all time. That being said, I rank him number 2 all time behind Ric Flair.
|
The only person who can even come close to comparing to Bret Hart is Ric Flair. (I rank them 1 and 1a.)
No one else can even come close...even though Angle is #3. |
Who else but Bret Hart could sarcastically put over El Dandy?
|
Personally, I'd put Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and Kurt Angle in front of Ric Flair.
|
A little overrated IMHO.
He was a good wrestler but not much of a talker.. I felt in the days of the Hart Foundation he carried the Matches but Neidhart carried the Promos. |
Bret is my favourite wrestler of all time. I don't think it's too much of a stretch when he says that he's the Best there is, Best there was and the best there ever will be

Bret had no mic skills? Shit just watch his work on the mic in 1997 and that proves you wrong. Watch some of his wcw promos and that proves that opinion wrong.
He was not so great in his earlier days but chalk that up to inexperience. Most people arent great right off the bat. He definitely held his own and was one of the best the wwf had in his day on the mic. He could do 15 minute promos without having to resort to what a guy like HHH does. |
When I first got into wrestling, I was a big Bret Hart mark and my friend was a big HBK mark. Even though I was young, Bret was the only face that I liked. He just seemed cool. All of his matches seemed epic, and when it built up to the Sharpshooter it seemed like the ultimate ending.
Looking back, I think that Bret Hart could've evolved into a more well-rounded performer. His promos weren't very good for years, but really picked up at the tail end of the WWF era and his stay at WCW. Bret's insistence on being a face limited his acting ability, which grew only when he switched to heel. In overall career, I think you have to say that Shawn Michaels is better. But had Bret Hart not been injured and able to wrestle for a few more years, I know that he could've truly gone down as the best there ever was. |
