terrible decision by WWE (spoilers for those who didnt order Judgment Day)

I cant believe WWE would break up MNM probably the best tag team on obth rosters. WWE doesnt have much of a tag team division left and their destroying whats left of it. Besides, I liked MNM as a tag team they kinda reminded me of Edge and Christian when they were a tag team.

Xero 05-21-2006 09:59 PM

Looks like Nitro and Melina are going to RAW...

Crippla 05-21-2006 10:02 PM

Either that or maybe their gonna be in ECW?

Funky Fly 05-21-2006 10:04 PM

I bet Mick Foley had a hand in this.

Xero 05-21-2006 10:06 PM

Hmm, that would be quite interesting.

Mick could start up an entire Anti-ECW stable. Have Mercury go back to ECW and he and Nitro can feud.

Funky Fly 05-21-2006 10:08 PM

No, I meant he's been obsessing over Melina so much lately, but that works too.

Crippla 05-21-2006 10:09 PM

well it seems their leading to an anti ECW angle with Foley so it could happen.

Yeah, I know that's also a point in it, I was just adding to the obvious.

Savio 05-21-2006 10:28 PM

Backstage polotics?

Crippla 05-21-2006 10:29 PM

2nd terrible decision of the night: They put shitty Khali over The Undertaker who they always make look good on PPV. WTF?

St. Jimmy 05-21-2006 11:21 PM

They put the belts on the more Entertaining tag team, so where's the problem?

ddpBANG 05-21-2006 11:30 PM

They took away the more entertaining tag team's competition.

They've still got Kid Kash / Jamie Noble, who seem to be an actual tag team now.

Innovator 05-22-2006 12:32 AM

Mexicools, Kash & Noble, Nunzio & Lady Vito

crash99 05-22-2006 01:39 AM

The WWE is in no position to break up tag teams. They have no division, and then to break up the most "tag-team" of tag teams, meaning they have the same look, a manager, function as a team, etc. is ridiculous. Why not keep them together, and continue the feud, or atleast to show they have some sembalance of a tag division.

They also got the Gymini, who might feud with the new tag champs next, although it is still hardly a division. Only three of the teams in the division appear on Smackdown on a regular basis, and they just broke up one of them in MNM.

CharismaInjection 05-22-2006 02:21 AM

Melina and Nitro have been suspended. That explains the break-up.

If thats the case Smackdown continues to lose talent, man are they hurting.

CharismaInjection 05-22-2006 02:24 AM

A newsite. It was being reported a few days ago both Nitro and Melina had heat on them.

Vastardikai 05-22-2006 02:38 AM

Why is it, for some reason, I see Nitro and Melina will being wished the best in all their future endeavors?

Heat and suspension are two totally different things.

The Heat 05-22-2006 07:30 AM

Let's re-phrase that, WWE broke up the only GOOD tag team on SmackDown[well, besides London & Kendrick].

I guess WWE are slowly tryin' to kill off an already dying division.

Rammsteinmad 05-22-2006 08:19 AM

Why do WWE have to break up every single freakin' tag team?!?!?!

Edge and Christian... they tried with the Dudleys... The Hardys... Big Show & Kane... hell... even Kidman and London.

NOW they've split up MNM?! WTF?!

Spirit Squad is next! :(

crock69 05-22-2006 08:25 AM

I think Nitro & Melina would be a great addition to a new D-X.

Gives a young face and beautiful T&A to the stable.

Kane Knight 05-22-2006 08:57 AM

It's partof passing the torch in the tag team division. In order for the next tag team to be put over as champion, the previous tage team mu split and turn on one another.

Kane Knight 05-22-2006 08:57 AM

Not that I care much, since MNM have entertained me twice since they came to WWE.

TerranRich 05-22-2006 10:26 AM

I think my nutsack would be a great addition to the new DX, but you don't see Vince McMahon pushing them. Although it would be nice... ;)

I disagree. The Spirit Squad would not fit into DX.

UmbrellaCorporation 05-22-2006 10:46 AM

Meh, I can appreciate that people like London/Kendrick, but I'd rather watch an MNM match any day (mainly for the gimmick). I was a bit distraught when I saw the "firing" of Nitro and Melina.

I dunno where they're going with this, but yeah. Not cool.

Meh. I don't really see any appeal in MNM. While I can appreciate that some people like them, I don't see any of this chemistry people talk about. Unless chemistry is now a word that means "Dress alike," in which case it's become totally meaningless.

Stickman 05-22-2006 12:54 PM

Remember when tag teams stuck together and didn't break up after 3 months?

Crippla 05-22-2006 12:56 PM

Yeah my point was they were one of the very few actual tag teams left in the WWE.

MNM have been together for a good while, over a year now.

I haven't seen Psicosis in several weeks. Has he been wished luck in his future endeavors?

EDIT: Never mind, just saw that he's on Velocity this week.

Yes, this is very similar to the mistake WWE did when they broke up the Bashams. However, with Kendrick/London as champs, Smackdown's tag division is heating up. They have a great face tag team and lots of great heel challengers like The Gymini and Noble/Kash. We need to look at the better effects of this. However, what would have been better if WWE sent MNM to Raw.

Oh well, at least the better man, Mercury, is on the way to a singles career.

or you know... Rehab. or whatever his "personal issues" are that he has taken time off for. I also don't see Melina and Nitro being fired. Now maybe jobbed into hell on Raw perhaps, but not fired.

Innovator 05-22-2006 04:38 PM

Mercury is probably on his way to ECW after his personal issues

Crippla 05-22-2006 04:48 PM

Right now, the plan is for Mercury to stay on SmackDown and Melina and Nitro to go to Raw but it could change.

How is it heating up? They actually have fewer tag teams now than they did with MNM.

Mr. Nerfect 05-22-2006 08:50 PM

I LOVE the fact they broke up MNM. I actually came up with another scenario like this for Judgment Day (prior to any knowledge of MNM splitting up). I saw Melina telling MNM that if they lose the WWE Tag Team Championship tonight, the man who doesn't get pinned will have to decide which partnership he values more, the one with the loser of the match or the one with Melina. Joey Mercury would get pinned, Johnny Nitro would turn on Mercury.

To get the new Tag Champs over a bit more, I think they should credit themselves with the destruction of the greatest tag team in SmackDown! history. It just occured to me that Paul London & Brian Kendrick may be the most over guys in the company who have never cut a promo. Just have them come out and talk about how they were expecting a rematch, but that's not going to happen anymore.

SmackDown! still has plenty of tag teams. Nunzio & Vito and The Gymini can serve as filler opponents for London & Kendrick. I can see Joey Mercury teaming up with a random opponent for his contractual rematch or two. Maybe Akio, seeing Paul London and Jimmy Yang have heaps of chemistry. This should get Paul London & Brian Kendrick over as fighting Champs. Mabe even have them work a few main event matches against Booker T & Finlay for the straps (Lashley costs the heels the match).

The real programs for the WWE Tag Team Championship would involve Jamie Noble & Kid Kash, and I'm going to make the gamble that The Basham Brothers will be back. Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Jamie Noble & Kid Kash? Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. The Basham Brothers? Colour me excited.

Mr. Nerfect 05-22-2006 08:55 PM

BTW, Melina can actually add something to the Women's Division, as can Johnny Nitro to the IC Division. I was just thinking during their Judgment Day match that Nitro could be a singles star. They can just highlight the fact he is a former Tough Enough Champion. Sure that may not sound like much, but it's something that helps him stand out.

Am I the only one hoping that we get a Mick Foley, Edge, Johnny Nitro & Melina vs. Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, Joey Mercury & Lita feud? This gives us around three matches at the WWE vs. ECW Special. Foley & Edge vs. Funk & Dreamer, Nitro vs. Mercury and Melina vs. Lita would all be servinceable outings.
