A New GM

A new boss
May 29, 2006

As first reported by WWE's mobile service, Mr. McMahon will announce a new RAW General Manager Monday night right at 9 p.m. ET.

Also this week on RAW, Triple H goes one on one with Kenny of the Spirit Squad. This comes just one week after The Game laid out the Spirit Squad on RAW after Kenny grabbed Triple H's sledgehammer right from his hands.

Last week on RAW, Paul Heyman introduced Mick Foley & Edge to their ECW One Night Stand opponents - Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk. This week, Heyman and Foley will face off on RAW.

For all this and more, watch RAW Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA network.

Lock Jaw 05-26-2006 05:26 PM

McLegend 05-26-2006 05:26 PM

Watch it be Bischoff, and then it would made this whole entire thing pointless

Blitz 05-26-2006 05:36 PM

If it's Dusty, I'm firebombing Titan Towers.

Innovator 05-26-2006 05:39 PM

I have a bad feeling about this

It's probably a McMahon.

Blitz 05-26-2006 06:12 PM

If it's Stephanie, I'm firebombing Titan Towers.

Rob 05-26-2006 06:14 PM

I Hope it's Ted DiBiase

Rammsteinmad 05-26-2006 06:53 PM

Nah, probably Shane O'Mac or summit.

No. Smackdown finished here just now and aired in Canada last night.

Oh you mean in the States? When they give a fuck about spoilers for everyone else, I'll start caring.

And I just noticed you are from Wales. So if you were watching Smackdown, you'd have seen it anyway.

Team Sheep 05-26-2006 06:59 PM

No, Smackdown started at 11 tonight, so I haven't seen the second hour yet.

Rob 05-26-2006 07:04 PM

Shows I don't watch it. Sorry dude

Considering the rules on this forum, I wouldn't say they don't give a fuck about spoilers for the rest of the world.

Corkscrewed 05-26-2006 07:08 PM

I'm just shocked they remembered. No really, I was convinced they'd just drop the whole GM search.

JBL as GM would be pretty awesome tho.

Kane Knight 05-26-2006 07:08 PM

Except a few random retards who end up having their posts edited anyway.

Considering I can't stay mad at LEnny...

Xero 05-26-2006 08:04 PM

*Vince comes out and gets in the ring...*

Vince: So I'm sure you've all heard the rumors. I'm naming a new RAW GM tonight. Let's not wait any longer! HEERRRREEE'S THE GM!

*The lights go out and spot lights are shining as a countdown appears on the tron. The fans pop.*

Vince: WHAT'S THIS!? 5!!! 4!!! 3!!! 2!!! 1!!!

*PYRO, Vince's music hits*

Vince:  Yup! It's ME!

Mr. Nerfect 05-26-2006 08:49 PM

Several names come to mind:

1. Shane McMahon, which will be complete shit. Just a shallow move to get ratings and then not change a thing about WWE programming. This will be used to fuel the DX storyline.

2. Eric Bischoff, which will be complete shit. Just a shallow move to get ratings and then not change a thing about WWE programming. This will be used to fuel the ECW storyline.

3. Jonathan Coachman, which might be half-decent. They want to bring him back as a new character, Coach looks pretty spiffy in a suit. He'd make a much better manager, though.

4. Vince McMahon, which will be complete shit. Just a shallow move to get rating and then not change a thing about WWE programming. This will be used to fuel the DX storyline.

5. Dusty Rhodes, because yes, the WWE is that stupid.

6. Melina, simply to get a hot chick as General Manager. Johnny Nitro can be her assistant, much like he was with Eric Bischoff. Could be interesting to say the least.

Neither really rocks the foundations of the WWE, though. Someone like Ted DiBiase would be fantastic.

Mr. Nerfect 05-26-2006 08:50 PM

Oh yes, and there's JBL, but I'd much rather see him as an active talent.

Batsu 05-26-2006 08:57 PM

It'll be CRAP if it isn't Jibble or Bischoff.

crash99 05-26-2006 09:16 PM

I'm not getting my hopes up for anybody thats going to rock the foundation of the WWE. It'll probably be a major dissapointment who ever it is, I just at the very least hope it's not someone to predictable, or keeps things on RAW exactly the same like Vince McMahon.

Ted Dibiase would be awesome, however, I'm not holding my breath waiting for that.

The Naitch 05-26-2006 10:02 PM

JBL

mrslackalack 05-26-2006 10:08 PM

I wouldnt be surprised if it was Dusty as his DVD is coming out a week from this Tuesday and they would use him as GM to promote it.

SPOILERS (Highlight to Read)
JBL Quit Smackdown due to his loss against Mysterio..again. Therefore I Believe he will be the New GM of Raw.

Fox 05-27-2006 12:26 AM

One point of awesomeness: Stephanie McMahon is weeks from giving birth, so it won't be her. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

JBL on RAW would be good, but really, that would totally fuck SD's already dwindling talent roster. Maybe this is just another part of the angle with Shawn Michaels and it will be a Spirit Squad member or "The Devil." I wouldn't put it past Vince to do something that stupid.

Skippord 05-27-2006 03:14 AM

If its JBL I'm firebombing Titan Towers

Savio 05-27-2006 03:23 AM

Nah JBL is cool guy.

D Mac 05-27-2006 03:35 AM

JBL is one of the best heels in the biz right now. If he goes to Raw will they send someone over to Smackdown to compensate?

Chris Fucking Jericho

:'( or not :'(

Pegasus Crawford 05-27-2006 05:49 AM

It'd be the markout of the millenium if Chris Jericho was announced as the new Raw GM.

I'd still markout if it were JBL, though.

So therefore, Eric Bischoff will return as Raw GM.

Pinnacle Charisma 05-27-2006 07:13 AM

I am a straight man but if it was CHRIS FUCKING JERICHO

I would have to up to my room and masterbate for like an hour I would be that excited.

Because you know its Chris Fucking Jericho

Yeah I was thinking Jericho for a moment, but I doubt it.

Morgan 05-27-2006 08:30 AM

Am I the only one finding this announcement a little coincidental with OJ's release?

Yeah. Too bad Msyterio's in need of surgery, Benoit's out for a while, Batista's not quite returned, nor is Kennedy, Angle's future is Hella dodgy, Undertaker doesn't do regular appearances...

So our ME scene is gonna be what...Mark Henry and Randy Orton?

Jaton 05-27-2006 10:33 AM

Yeah, imagine what a good match that would be. Henry would injure Orton's shoulder doing an RKO. He'd probably injure him so bad, Orton's injury would travel back in time and take him out of action in 2003. >.>

Orton, Henry (=/), King Booker, Kennedy (he should be back ASAP.), Batista, Kahli (sigh), Finlay (yeah, i know), Taker (they could pull him back).

Possiblites:
Lashley, Matt Hardy (lool... right), Gunner Scott, Pirate Paul, Regal.

Booker will likely get a semi-main event push, but remain midcard. Kennedy's not going main event, not yet, and he isn't back yet. Orton isn't even back yet, and Batista's not back yet. Finlay isn't going to be a main eventer. Taker isn't going to work more than 2 times a month.

Lashley's gonna be midcard for a while at least. Pirate Paul and Regal have about the same chance as Hardy. Gunner? Nobody knows him yet.

From what I hear the top two possibilities are JBL and Dusty Rhodes. Lets hope its JBL.

St. Jimmy 05-27-2006 04:05 PM

As much as I hate to say it, I honestly think that it's neither JBL nor is it Dusty (thank god, that bullet would be too brittle to bite). In WWE logic the perfect GM is someone who's been off-screen for awhile with absolutely no logic as to why, besides the Kafaybe'd injury reason. I'm talking about:

Jonathan Coachman.

With J.R. back, he'd have some kind of Heelish vendetta against J.R. which makes sense as to why he'd want/get the job.... Sadly it has the most logic out of all the choices...

Nervous Ferret 05-27-2006 04:09 PM

smackDOWN is on Saturday at 8 for people in the New York market US :(
It gets preempted by Yankee home games on Friday night

The MAC 05-27-2006 04:17 PM

Fuck it, i say M.Bison walks out as the new GM.

Skippord 05-27-2006 04:22 PM

Its gonna be the Ultamite Wariah

St. Jimmy 05-27-2006 04:40 PM

i kinda hope it's dusty cause i'll admit dusty was my favorite in NWA

ClockShot 05-27-2006 05:32 PM

I'm begging for Ted Dibiase, only because of that quick minute on Unlimited the day after Wrestlemania. But I think that it will be The Wrestling God, John Bradshaw Layfield. With Easy E a close second.

Vermaat 05-27-2006 07:03 PM

JBL is a good choice. He needs to get out of the ring because he can't wrestle. As long as he learns to get legit heat (not CHEAP heat now)

If it's the most logical, then you have nothing to worry about.Surely you know by now WWE doesn't know the meaning of the word 'logic'?

Though I have to say it would be fucking great if Jericho was the new GM.

Logic is known to WWE. However, it is much like Voldemort in Harry Potter (He who must not be named), The Elder Gods and other horrors in "Lovecraft" (That which should not be), and Triple H (He who can not be jobbed).

Hired Hitman 05-27-2006 07:56 PM

JBL would be a good choice, he's rich, powerful and is an asshole.

He's perfect for the business world. :y:

Skippord 05-27-2006 07:59 PM

Nodq says that JBL is going to be doing a lawsuit angle to get back on smackdown so he is unlikely

Hired Hitman 05-27-2006 08:01 PM

I'm not seeing it on the normal channels.

Skippord 05-27-2006 08:37 PM

I'll go get it in a moment

Mr. Nerfect 05-27-2006 08:41 PM

Yeah, with Shawn Michaels' alledged injury, I don't think it will be JBL. They've had JBL do a promo where he talks about how SmackDown! needs him. I suspect we will eventually see JBL on RAW, but they're going to give him a few weeks of non-wrestling SmackDown! appearances. I can just see JBL sitting in the front row of SmackDown! pointing out all the "errors" they're making.

Apparently Eric Bischoff was backstage at RAW last week. It will probably be him. I still think Bischoff's place is as the heel manager to a stable. I know people always say "revived stables don't work!", but if they're bringing back DX, they may as well bring back the nWo.

Shane McMahon is the guy I'm leaning towards now. Or possibly Jonathan Coachman. Anyway, whoever it is has trouble with Triple H, and then brings in Eric Bischoff to destroy them. DX finds a little assistance in ECW, whilst Bischoff's crew finds a little assistance in The Spirit Squad. Stable wars would at least be more interesting than John Cena wasting our time each week.

Destor 05-27-2006 08:42 PM

My pick is Dusty Rhoads, his DVD is fixing to come out.

Londoner 05-27-2006 08:56 PM

Dusty? Great, that will be another reason to turn the channel over.

James Steele 05-27-2006 10:12 PM

I am glad my CHRIS FUCKING JERICHO thing got over so well. VIVA LA JERICHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corkscrewed 05-27-2006 10:53 PM

that'd be the biggest markout moment in years if it was Jericho.

But more likely, it'll be JBL to feud with the ECWers, and then eventually HBK when he gets back.

Kane Knight 05-27-2006 11:07 PM

Yeah, Jericho would make no real sense, thought Jericho alligned against HBK/HHH=Who the fuck cares if it makes sense?

NeanderCarl 05-27-2006 11:25 PM

It should be.... the one... the only...

the legend in his own mind....

Macho Mouth, Randy Savage.

High Impact v.W.o 05-28-2006 07:45 AM

Crippla 05-28-2006 11:03 AM

Even though it is the WWE, Shane still seems too obvious a choice and I dont think its JBL right now because I think theyre gonna use that suing angle. From what I hear they dont plan on bringing Bischoff back as GM. I think it will either be Coach or Dusty Rhodes. Coach wouldnt be that bad of a choice for a heel and as much as youd hate it to be Dusty, Id like to see what Raw would be like with a face GM.
