Do they really need to keep doing this?
from wrestling-edge.com
Vicki Guerrero is expected to turn heel and side with Chavo Guerrero against Rey Mysterio. Also, the storyline is expected to be "UGLY". --------------------------------------------------------------------- This is just really getting annoying now. Chavo turning heel is one thing, but Vickie?? I just wonder WWE is gonna start making Vickie work more now because Eddie was still under contract. Why don't they just let Eddie go? |
Eddie is still apart of the show. Even a year past his death. I would for this to happen to me when I go.
|
When exactly did they sign Rectal Pertruder to book?
|
Awesome
|
It is so sad. Even his wife is shittign on his death.
|
Who cares...
|
Vickie prolly needs the money...

You mean people acctaully watch smackdown? I haven't seen that show in almost a year because of my work schedule or social schedule.
|
BDC with a social life?
That's like Bender with a vow of abstinence. |
 i wish i booked this shit.
|
I'm actually liking this storyline. Why? Because as soon as the WWE is in front of a live crowd, Chavo and Vickie are going to get a standing ovation. Everything they're likely going to say in this feud is going to coincide with what we've been saying. Rey is whoring out Eddie's legacy. If Chavo can turn the "Eddie" chants into something which supports him, the women and little kids will stop chanting it. The male fans will likely start, but oh well.
Chavo Guerrero is officially a babyface in my eyes, and I can't wait to Summerslam because of it. Hopefully the fans turn on Rey Mysterio and get right behind Chavo, which will fuck everything up long term (Rey will likely go over Chavo clean, which will look really bad with the fans behind Chavo), but will be enjoyable for one night. |

At least this seems like it will be about Eddie, as opposed to involving him.
|
I guess Vicky ok'd the whole thing, it's hypercritcal for us to shit all over it, if the wife of the man who died is fine with it.
It's been documented that she needs to cash and to be honest, all power to her. As far as the angle goes, Summerslam should be very interesting, it's the second largest group of smark marks behind mania. Remember Brock Vs Rock? They basically turn Rocky heel that night. |
Quote:
Also, maybe it's just my inferior brain, but I don't see the hypocrisy, either. Hypocrisy is saying one thing, and doing the opposite. Have any of us been on TV running Eddie's legacy into the ground? Or running our own deceased relatives into the ground? Please, explain.... |
I'm sorry, but I burst out laughing when I read the phrase "Vicki Guerrero is expected to turn heel."
I'd expect she'll be a better heel than Linda McMahon, but that's not saying much. Let the sad, ugly unintentional comedy ensue. I do feel sorry for Eddie, tho. If you believe in that sort of thing, he's looking down on everyone feeling pretty damn bad that his family has to go through this. Prolly. |
And seriously, if any one had a REAL problem with this whole thing, people would have been asking for their release months ago. And don't tell me that they have to pay bills and stuff, because there are other jobs out there besides wrestling if they were really offended by this.
|
Hookers can get real jobs too. Does that mean they all enjoy being hookers?
Yes, I'm comparing Vicko, Chavo, and Rey to hookers. |
Eddie Guerrero in heaven right now: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
|
He looks different now..... :shifty:
|
nah, Eddie is probably loving this right now
If I was a dead wrestler, I'd love still being part of the show even if I was in heaven |
I find it ironic that, even in these circumstances, we're bitching about them continuing an at least interesting storyline, which has been going on for well over a year (if you count when Eddie started feuding with Rey), but when they drop a shitty storyline, we moan and complain.
Am I okay with it? Well, I don't think they should be exploiting Eddie's memory, no. But the fact is that this is one of the longest-running, continuing storylines within the past 6 years or so, and it's fairly classic and straight forward. Eddie dies, Rey uses Eddie's name to get to the top, Eddie's nephew is pissed about it. It's a perfect set up. |

Anyway, your inconsistancy isn't. |

No, commenting on the inconsistency of the fans.

This is why I love wrestling, because only in the WWE world will you see people turn on the real life family of a departed love one and side with a masked midget. |
Eddie is in hell
|
Ya know...does this mean Dominic will get involved and turn on Rey?
I mean afterall, he is supposed to be a blood "Guerrero," right? |
Quote:
|
Remember how Dominic was reportedly stressed out by the previous angle?
Yeah, I bet that it's gonna be even worse this time around, when Auntie Vicky beats the shit out of his Papi in front of him. |
If Vickie says no, those checks from WWE would probably stop coming.
As bad as this is, if she signed off on it, it's all faire in love and desecration |
To be fair, I doubt they'd respect her wishes anyway.
|
True, He's Vince McMahon Dammit!
|
They'd hire one of the Diva search contestants to play Vickie.
|
And make her into a whore.
|
I meant Vicky, not the Diva Search contestant.

Remember the white light that was used when "god" wrestled with HBK against Vince and Shane??
They're probably gonna use that again to put Eddie over against Chavo when McMahon says due to McMahonism, Eddie was able to come back for 1 more match |
lol
oh dear.. |
I shall invent a new phrase for what I'm feeling about this...
LOLOMG! |
I'm disgusted with the WWE using Eddie's death for a storyline. If they'd have done that to Owen Hart they'd have the shit sued out of them... Oh yeah, the Hart's did sue the WWE didn't they. I'm more surprised at Rey and Chavo for even doing it.
|
But who says they're doing it just to make money? You don't really have the inside scoop on who thot up the angle, how it was presented to or discussed with Rey and Chavo, so...how 'bout you save your disgusted for things you understand?

I don't really give a shit who proposed it, or how okay they are. It's still pretty disgusting. |
The storyline is fine between Rey and Chavo. I just don't like the fact that they are dragging it out by bringing Eddie's own widow into the mix. But, if Vickie's alright with it, there really isn't too much we can do about it.
And with WWE logic, Rey is kind of like Cena, where Rey sells alot of merchandise with the kids, so he wouldn't be the one turning heel. I guess as long as Rey is getting cheered throughout all of this, he's probably fine with it. |
Just curious: What could we do about it if Vicky wasn't okay with it?
I'm sorry, it seemed a bit stupid to say there's nothing we can do about it because Vicky's okay with it, since there'd still be nothing we could do about it as long as the people in actual control of WWE were going to do it. We're spectators, here. Unless you have some insider pull you haven't told us about. |
LOL, I wish I had some insider pull. But of course, we have no control over what kind of storylines they go along with. Only live crowd reaction determines how far a storyline will go. Kind of like the Haas/Lilian/Viscera angle. People didn't seem to care too much, and it didn't last long.
|
Live Crowd reaction doesn't mean shit if Vince is onboard. When Edge was getting a muddle reaction, they kept pushing him. Masters? Pushed until a possible drug suspension or W/E. John Cena? Christian?
|
If you saw ECW this week, you'd know that the WWE now has the technology to keeping bad live crowd reactions to a minimum. (Basically just killing every mic in the house except for the announcers'.)
|
IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT
Let's keep this shit alive Any fan who thinks (that WWE is exploiting Eddie's death) otherwise is a huge pussy |
Quote:
What about people who claim that they were victims of Hurricane Katrina but really aren't? If they get paid, are they not EXPLOITING the disaster? There should be no question over whether they're exploiting the memory of the deceased to make money, because they are, whether the family approves of it or not. Morals and beliefs are completely different from facts. |
Okay, let's think of things like this.
I don't think Vicky needs the cash. I'm sure she collected a lot of cash off of Eddie shirts shortly after his death, not to mention book and DVD sales. Or how about how many friends she would be able to turn to for fiscal support? I'm sure Chavo and Rey would help her through any rough time. If she wants to exploit the memory of Eddie for any reason, who are we to say a damn thing about it? Maybe she's doing it to keep Eddie's memory alive. Maybe she's doing it for the money. Maybe Eddie won't be brought up in this storyline. Maybe Vince shits kool-aid powder. We, as fans, not as insiders, don't know. So to all the people who are talking about how the WWE is exploiting Eddie, how Vicky is exploting Eddie, Well, I've got two words for ya! Shut up. |
But they are exploiting him, you even said it. The WWE is exploiting the memory of Eddie Guerrero.
People may be complaining about it, and some may not give a shit, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the WWE is taking the passing of a real human being and bringing it into storylines as a way to make money. |
When is this storyline gonna start... I actully wanna see it.
|
It starts on SmackDown! this week...
|
Okay, I didn't read the spoilers before I wrote this and looking at comments left this is already out of date, but hell, it's still a good point.
<strike>For all we know Vicky may just say she has to stick with her family, and Chavo is family, not Rey. For all we know Eddie won't be mentioned. We only have the memories of him in the ring. The memories we have of him are nothing compared to, I don't know... the memories of his widow. It's Vicky's life. It's her cross she has to hold. At the end of the day we, as fans, are going to find something to bitch about. At the end of the day Vicky might be happy to keep Eddie's memory alive. Chavo might be happy to be getting more air time than Justin Credible. Rey might be happy to preform with the memory of his friend. So if you don't like this rumor that hasn't hit pwinsider.com yet, then for your own sake don't watch SmackDown. You might have a heart attack. If you're upset that Eddie's widow Vicky is on TV keeping the memory of her husband alive, even if that's the path SmackDown takes, write letters to WWE, start an angry mob, do what you must. Please keep in mind that if anyone should be pissed off about Eddie getting exploited, it should be his family.</strike> *edit- Just read the spoilers, and I saw that coming a mile away. I'm not gonna argue this story line simply because it's stupid. |

Whatever KK.
People, today I realized something. As long as Eddie's name and memory gets a reaction from the fans they'll keep bringing his name and memory up. If it'll draw group of people it'll sell. Let's look at Rey's title reign where every match was for Eddie. Now Chavo has turned heel, and Eddie's widow is on Chavo's side. I don't like it. Why did DX, ECW, Hulk Hogan, and the evil Vince all come back? Money. That's the bottom line. DX draws, ECW might draw, people scream like idiots when Hogan comes out, and the evil Vince is always fun. If Eddie's name draws after death, get used to it because we'll see it again and again. |
Yeah, Vince is really swayed by reactions. That must be it.
I mean, why let reality intrude? He has such a history of listening to reactions. |

This is amazing to me.
Let's say Kurt drops dead. His greatest known fear is that he will one day be forgotten. So, if the company uses his name/legacy to honor him and keep his memory alive, is that going to be 'disgusting'? Yes, they make money from Eddie's memory. But shit, it's a damn company. That's what fucking companies do, guys: they make money. If this is the best way they can think of to keep Eddie's memory fresh in our minds, then what exactly is the beef? |
Uhh... it's a stupid storyline that requires little to no creative ability because they're just playing off something that happened in real life. And it's not something like RVD getting busted for possession, or even Matt Hardy getting fired over the Lita/Edge affair.
It's the death of one of wrestling's most loved characters. And it only happened a year ago. That'd be like making a WTC movie today. Wait... |

I love the slantiness there. |

Storyline-wise, they have this all messed up anyways. It should be Rey turning heel for catapulting himself to the top using Eddie's name. But instead, it's Eddie's own family that are supposed to be the bad people in this situation. I wish this was all just a basic storyline, but instead this all involves a real death. They have never done this before, so why start now? Owen Hart never gave anyone a higher power. And when Hardcore Holly returns, should be be given the power of Crash to win all of his matches too? |

Watching Chavo talk tonight, he doesn't sound like he's into this. He sounds like he's reading from a card.
|
He did seem a bit stiff. But hey, it's his first big "address the audience" promo in a while. Maybe he has the promo equivellant of ring rust.
|
IT's possible. It's also possible that, willing or not, it's still a tough subject ofr him.
|
Well, yes. That's actually what I was thinking. And I think he did a good job of it.
