it took me a minute. chill.

What Would Kevin Do? 08-20-2006 08:45 PM

If this is any good, I might watch it tomorrow for free....

Maybe.

St. Jimmy 08-20-2006 08:47 PM

If this is the actual card, it might not even be worth watching for free.

What Would Kevin Do? 08-20-2006 08:50 PM

Mysterio Vs Chavo and Foley Vs Flair could be awesome.

The rest I'm meh about.

Fox 08-20-2006 08:58 PM

I LOL @ whoever bought this trash.

They sell pornos on inDemand too, you know?

NeanderCarl 08-20-2006 09:01 PM

This is the first time I've ever heard JBL as SmackDown commentator (as I don't watch the show).

I had to pay for this one....

Here we go, Mysterio vs Guerrero for the second SummerSlam in a row.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 09:19 PM

Decent match... I'm really glad Guerrero went over.

I'm really loathing King Booker... He really bugs the shit out of me. Hopefully Edge smacks the royalty right off his dread-head.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 09:21 PM

Edge and Booker have just proven the difference between a decent gimmick (Edge) and an utter shit gimmick like "King"

darkpower 08-20-2006 09:23 PM

that settles it...we'll have a title change tonight, from the looks of it.

ClockShot 08-20-2006 09:24 PM

I had my finger on the buy button but decided I get results here for free. Anywho.....Good evening everyone.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 09:41 PM

That match between Big Show and Sabu was really good. I thought it really showcased what a Monster champ should be.

That Diva segment brings women 100 years back in time. Not that I mind some booty and jugs, but, I feel that when I order a wrestling PPV, I want it to be wrestling. If I wanted to see women do that kind of shit, I would get something from the spice channel. Or at least go to my local video store and get something involving an amputee and a midget.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 09:49 PM

Hulkamania still rules to me, dammit!

St. Jimmy 08-20-2006 09:52 PM

Hogan 3rd on the card? Hulkamania must be pissed.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 09:54 PM

My fiancee (as of last weekend) and I are sharing our first PPV. It makes me feel all warm and squishy.. Either that or we just crapped our pants.

Skippord 08-20-2006 10:00 PM

"Of course Hogan won. He's a fucking legend." Says the Fiancee.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 10:04 PM

Ok, so, she didn't say fucking... But she still said something.. That counts, right?

The One 08-20-2006 10:10 PM

...I have never been more tempted to never watch WWE again then I am right now...possibly back in 2002 when Hogan was WWE Champ...

God Damn It! I am at least done with RAW forever. Mark my words.

Ben Rodrigues 08-20-2006 10:11 PM

Yes... this makes so much sense.

Splaya 08-20-2006 10:15 PM

THATS THE BEST ENDING THEY COULD COME UP WITH.

AT LEAST THEY COULD HAVE DONE WHERE HOGAN PUT HIS FOOT UNDER THE ROPE. HOGAN COULD COME BITCH ABOUT IT TOMMOROW NIGHT ON RAW. GOD SO FUCKING STUPID

I'm so glad I didnt go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch this.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 10:26 PM

Man, that was a pretty brutal match. Pretty good for two old duffers.

darkpower 08-20-2006 10:28 PM

now if they make book drop to batista, I will be so happy. that way sharmell will shut the fuck up already

AJHayes 08-20-2006 10:33 PM

Is it possible for their timing to be any more off tonight? They might do better if they go back to the locker room and start this match over.

darkpower 08-20-2006 10:33 PM

It's official....Cole has become ten times the better PBP that JR is.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 10:34 PM

Maybe a stray body will fly out of the ring and knock Sharmell mute.

Splaya 08-20-2006 10:43 PM

I'm not watching the PPV and I'm getting more excited then I would be if I was watching it.

Mysterio and Chavo, I expected that result.

Big show vs Sabu

I actually expected an RVD run in.

Hogan vs Orton

Read post #24

Mick Foley vs Ric Flair.

I'm glad Flair won. I've said it for weeks, Flair was better on the mic. But for Foley to lose because it looked like he was protecting Melina adds so much more to the storyline. I really see them bringing out the cell for these 2

Skippord 08-20-2006 10:46 PM

Talking to Kane

Dorkchop 08-20-2006 10:49 PM

Hogan won? Well that's not surprising at all. he even won with a "busted" knee. What a trooper that guy is.

Skippord 08-20-2006 10:55 PM

Holy Crap everyone on DX

Skippord 08-20-2006 10:55 PM

Show out next

DS 08-20-2006 10:56 PM

This sounds like the best WWE PPV in the past two years at least.

Skippord 08-20-2006 10:58 PM

Kennedy,Finlay,Regal, and The Big Show are kicking the fuck out of DX

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:10 PM

KANE KANE KANE KANE KANE IS HERE

Londoner 08-20-2006 11:11 PM

I guess that's what they meant by 'unlimited resources', kinda wish i brought this now, but i'm not that bothered really.

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:12 PM

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT

Splaya 08-20-2006 11:12 PM

HOLY SHIT, THE MCMAHONS BROUGHT EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER...SOMEONE GIVE ME MORE INFO

Londoner 08-20-2006 11:14 PM

Be more descriptive skippord, rather than just saying 'kane is here' what is he doing there?

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:14 PM

Shawn Superkicked Shane while he was in midair going for the Van Terminator

Londoner 08-20-2006 11:15 PM

DX win then?

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:15 PM

After DX told him McMahon said something about Umaga being the only monster on Raw

AJHayes 08-20-2006 11:15 PM

That was a remarkably respectable match. Very sweet finish to the match. Also, I really liked the way that the McMahons did all those old finishers. Much better than I expected.

What's going on now?

rob11 08-20-2006 11:29 PM

Boston does not like Cena.

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:29 PM

Cena Vs Edge I'm not really paying attention

rob11 08-20-2006 11:31 PM

This is hilarious. Cena is the "hometown" wrestler yet his hometown is chanting that he sucks.

Londoner 08-20-2006 11:34 PM

LOL

I was hoping that would happen. :D

I think Lita may cost Edge the match.

Impaler DDT on Cena, 1-2 kickout.

Edge just got pushed into Lita on the apron. Both are down.

rob11 08-20-2006 11:39 PM

Edge roles onto Cena, 1-2 kickout.

rob11 08-20-2006 11:40 PM

STFU on Edge, but he reaches the ropes.

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:40 PM

EDGE WON WOOOOOO

rob11 08-20-2006 11:41 PM

Lita gives Edge brass knucks. Cena is down. 1-2-3!

rob11 08-20-2006 11:41 PM

I was wrong, but only for now! Good ending.

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:41 PM

Brass Knuckles are my hero

rob11 08-20-2006 11:42 PM

Cena had Edge up for the FU but the ref didn't see the brass knucks and he hit Cena while in the air.

Mike the Metal Ed 08-20-2006 11:44 PM

Somehow, Edge summoned the living spirit of William Regal and was handed the gift for that second.

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF THE PUNCH!

AJHayes 08-20-2006 11:44 PM

I'm so glad that Cena didn't win. WWE can't afford to lose many more viewers. Very good match though.

rob11 08-20-2006 11:44 PM

Sorry I couldn't give any more PBP tonight. IMO, the PPV was tolerable especially with the Foley/Flair match although the ending was iffy.

AJHayes 08-20-2006 11:45 PM

All we need now is for The Rated R Superstar to get rid of the Rated R Herpes Scar.

Skippord 08-20-2006 11:49 PM

That was a vicious shot with the knucks

Cena has deserved that brass knucks shot for years..

Ben Rodrigues 08-21-2006 12:00 AM

Why is John Cena's spinner belt now the "Official" WWE Title?

#1-norm-fan 08-21-2006 12:14 AM

Oh my god... that was a horrible ending. Jesus. I could rant for days about this shit. Seriously.... Edge cheats to keep the title. Could we have not seen this on any random episode of Raw. IT'S THE SECOND BIGGEST PPV OF THE YEAR!!!! GODDAMN THAT WAS BAD! Oh my god... I want to rant so badly right now but I can't find the right words to convey how pathetic the ending to this PPV was.

I seriously wish Hogan vs. Orton was the main event. THAT'S how bad it was.

Steve The Pirate 08-21-2006 12:33 AM

Woooo~! Ric Flair makes Slim Foley say "I Quit".

#1-norm-fan 08-21-2006 12:39 AM

This PPV makes me want to punch a baby so bad.

Juan 08-21-2006 12:40 AM

The McMahons should have hit the 3D!!

Batsu 08-21-2006 12:46 AM

Not that it's news...

But I've had it... HAD it with Hulk Hogan.
To the point I want to slap the piss out of these "Hulkamaniacs" that continue to use "WWE Mark Logic" to cheer this non-working ass bum. Cena fans (and by "fans", I mean the girls/kids that cheer for him no matter what) seem more astute.

Even Stone Cold Steve Austin got shat on when he did something that went afoul of "good business".

Yet, Vince continues to give him a pass for shit he has derailed Bret Hart and others for doing.

He should have lost to Shawn, and he should have lost to Randy tonight.

Flair >>>>>>>>>>>>> Hogan.
X-Pac >>>>>>>>>>> Hogan.
Jeff Jarrett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hogan. At least Jarrett gives the illusion of working.

A turd in an unflushed toilet >>>>>>>>>>> Hogan.

Seriously. Give me a good reason why you should cheer Hogan in 2006.

As much as I hated Hogan beating Michaels last year to end SummerSlam, it atleast was an upbeat ending. The crowd was into it and all. As much as it pissed me off (I called a friend of mine and ranted for what I'm pretty sure appriached 2 hours) atleast it was something you wouldn't have seen on Raw. Hogan vs. Michaels.

Edge cheating to retain the title against Cena though. Come on. You either

A) Have Cena win. Atleast you're gonna get a big reaction (though alot of boos, also alot of screams from the women and children), a title change (rare on free tv), a face getting the win ala Hogan.

or B) Have Edge win but have a CREATIVE FREAKING ENDING!!! A heel turn from someone, a unique "heel tactic", ANYTHING but the boring ass ending we got.

I didn't miss a single PPV from the first WrestleMania to mid-late 2005 and I haven't missed one of the BIG 4 ever. Through all that, I seriously think, given the fact that it WAS SummerSlam, this was the most boring ending to a PPV I have ever seen. Just beyond words terrible.

If you absolutely had to do this ending because no one for WWE can grasp the concept of actually writing an entertaining ending to a match, then just have the DX-McMahon match main event the damn thing!!! Would have been a million times better.

Innovator 08-21-2006 01:00 AM

A new and creative ending....you're asking WAY too much from WWE creative.

I know. That's why I added on the idea of just changing the main event to a match that WOULD cover one of those bases.

St. Jimmy 08-21-2006 01:31 AM

I actually liked the ending to almost every match on the card. Hogan/Orton was complete bullshit, given. Bats/Booker was strong. Keep the belt on Book, he's better at the moment. Foley/Flair was definatly interesting, made both men look strong. Cena and Edge was actually really great. I'm really disapointed that they just won't write a fucking clean victory over Cena. Not as bad as I thought this would be at all. I didn't pay for it, but I was impressed none the less.

FourFifty 08-21-2006 03:18 AM

I haven't this thread but I have a question...
Is the ref during the DX match a DX fan, because I'm pretty sure after HBK and HHH left the ring he held an X over his head... Any news on this?

Vastardikai 08-21-2006 03:24 AM

1. Someone needs to get Rey some masks that'll actually, I dunno, STAY ON HIS HEAD. A mask coming off of a masked wrestler during a ppv is, I dunno, not a good thing, perhaps?

2. Vicki looked as though she injured herself. About how I'd sum up my opinion of the whole deal.

3. Sabu blew a great deal of spots. In other words, typical Sabu match.

4. Big Show stomping the chair = cool.

5. For all the marks whining about Orton losing to Hogan. Look at it like this: What if Orton won and went into a feud with, say, Triple H. When/if they go even, and Orton isn't getting a heel reaction (again), what would Creative do, next? They couldn't do shit.

6. One of these days, Flair is gonna die in these Hardcore Matches they keep throwing him in. Why doesn't he do like Harley, and open a Wrestling School? He could probably pay off his debts, as I'm sure quite a few greenhorns would love to say they were trained by "The Man."

7. Nestea Plunge... Ow.

8. Batista has been an ass of late, and I can't feel too sad for him. Though he did try some new stuff (Steiner-like Belly to Belly, Jackhammer). The worse thing though, was that Powerbomb. I was watching with two wrestlers, and they think Booker Sandbagged him.

9. Spirit Squad got annihilated, no problems there. The Beatdown featured guys you'd think H and Micheals respect (Finlay, Regal, and Show) or see potential in (Ken Kennedy). Nice to see the Decapitation Elbow, the Hart Attack, and the Doomsday Device. Would have lmao if they did the Rockers' Flying Double Fist Drop. Or Power and Glory's Powerplex.

10. Cena got a mixed reaction in his "hometown." Damn.

11. Edge's expressions after near-falls, Lita's attempts to cheat, etc. was priceless. Edge really is the top heel in the business right now.

12. The finish was fine, though. The Knucks to the back of the head was stiff as hell. And it kind of reminded me of another Heel Champion: "Stunning" Steve Austin during his run as TV Champ in WCW.

Anywho, if you weren't being randomly sarcastic, HBK was hurt during the match. I'm sure the X the ref through up was due to that.

The superkick that Shane O'Mac got looked pretty sick. Since it was after the match I was thinking it could have been that.
But yea, you could tell that HBK wasn't exactly in the best shape at the end of the match.

From what I heard, HBK got injured when he was clotheslined over the top rope. Maybe a separated shoulder or something.

MMercM 08-21-2006 07:13 AM

What was bad about this PPV? Let's try what was goo-Oh yeah.. that's right.... NOTHING. Except maybe Rey vs Chavo, even though the storyline and the tastelessness of it all made me ashamed to be a wrestling fan.. Good thing I got in for free. (Theatre that I watched it in couldn't get the PPV until halfway through the first match, so they gave us free passes) otherwise I would be hugely pissed. Bottom line, at least in my opinion:

The GOOD:
Rey VS Chavo. Even though this was no clean finish, it was setting up to be a good match, and it was sadly, the match of the night.

Edge VS Cena. Cena actually impressed me, along with Edge. I rather enjoyed this.

The BAD:
DX VS McMahons. This storyline has been going on far too long. I mean, it feels like it's been going on for years. I hope that this ends soon.

Batista VS King Booker. I could see Booker trying to carry Batista to something remotely entertaining, but I just didn't see it coming through. Also, the possibly nasty botch with the Batista bomb was.... eye opening at best. Batista does not belong in the ring. Batista cannot wrestle, the only thing he does well is a spineb- oh wait, Arn Anderson. Well, he can shake the ropes kinda goo- oh yeah, the ULTIMATE WARRIOR. He's like a bunch of old wrestlers thrown into a burlap sack, with the brain and wrestling ability of a 2 year old thrown in.

Hogan VS Orton. Even though it was inevitable that Hogan was going over, this match made me fall asleep in the fucking theatre, literally. I feel sorry for Orton, as much as I may dislike Orton, simply because his whole gimmick is essentially shot.

Foley VS Flair. I was really looking forward to this. This was the match that I came to see. And it was short, too short. No matter how bloody it got, it needed to be longer, and it had to end with Foley going over. 12 years of buildup, and they do this to conclude it? Perhaps not, perhaps this will still go on, but.. I just can't help but feel disappointed.

Big Show VS Sabu. OH MY GOD! LOOK AT SABU! Oh, he dropped the chair! LOOK AT SABU NOW! Oh, slipped on the table. OH MY GOD! WHAT IS SABU GOING TO DO HERE? Oh, he fell on his ass. And botched the Arabian Facebuster for the thirty millionth time. God damn, words cannot describe how bad this was.

Bottom Line: This was worse than 2005, and I could almost say it was worse than Backlash 2006.

TV Champion... whatever.

This was the main event of the second biggest PPV of the year and it ended like a typical Raw. That's the only thing that pissed me off. It was dull as hell.

Last i checked Orton lost a match to the undertaker when he was trying to "kill his legend" then won a later match against him. This might be the case here for all any of us know. Going by your logic his whole legend killer gimmick was dead after getting beat by taker the first time.
