FANTASY HOCKEY
 

A new Fantasy season has already opened. I've created a league. 12 teams, head-to-head. A straight forward league. I've got spots for those that have actively played in prior years. I have <s>8</s> spots left. I will maybe add 2-4 teams if the demand is there. Here are the people already "in"

Need some changes to the league. Just slights ones. 2 W to 2 F is something I think would be a lot better. What the hell is the point of having two wingers?

Also adding SHP is a great stat.

Like I mean I run two leagues that are actually for money and everyone agrees that this is the best way to do it. Mine is slightly different from yours (no W's and some trade and waiver stuff) but this looks to be good.

Like with the wingers you would notice a lot of good centers being left on the free agents list. It's pointless really. A lot of players in yahoo have different titles too. Some have all three (LW, RW, C) and it's just a disadvantage to all the other players. So F is a lot better than W.

With SHP's you get a whole new game introduced. Not only is PPP important but so is the other half of your special teams. It brings a more well balanced aproach to the pools.

can't believe anson carter is still unsigned

he's really waiting things out. He really wants to be a Leaf. So much so that he's waiting until the very end before signing. Not sure the Leafs have the cap room for him. Same thing with the 'Nucks. This might backfire on him.

There were some rumours a while ago about the Leafs trading Nik Antropov to free up some room for Carter. I hope to God they do.

gotta admit, gonna miss seeing those offers he comes up with.

I see him post from time to time, but he didn't request an invite to the league. I think at this point I'm happy with 14 teams.

Oh. I did make a change, I made it so we have 6 not 4 bench players. I also dropped IR players from 2 to 1. I dig having to be more selective of who you keep on your roster when they are injured. 6 bench players makes more since too, because there are more players not playing on a given day than say in baseball where they play basically every day.

So is there only one league set up in TPWW?

Anyone have another one? Of all the sports, this one I can definitely keep interested in... :lol:

yup, 2 hours or so from now.

heres hoping I get a little bit better than 2nd last draft rank this year.

with 14 teams, we all have the chance to ice a pretty good team. Its gonna be the sleeper picks make the difference.

Like last year, im pretty sure Jagr didnt get taken until the 7th or 8th round.

Yeah that's the problem, sleeper picks are key and I haven't paid a whole lot of attention in the off season :o

I feel, if Malkin, Bertuzzi, Ward and Gerber do well, I should be able to seal this thing up. That's the beauty of these things though, we all fell good about our team at the very beginning. Full of promise and all that shit.

I was pretty happy with my draft. I took a ton of young guys with potential for breakout seasons so even if only 1 of them turns out to be legit it should be worth it. I'm hoping Radulov in the 15th round will end up being the steal of the century. Also I'm fairly certain my goalies are better than anyone else's in the league so hopefully that will account for 4 points each week.

Sorry Supreme, I think you were looking at my goalies when you posted that post. My goaltenders are going to win this thing virtually by themselves.

Spilchuk is right aboot Kipper though. 10 shut outs, and a GAA at 2. He'll win the goalie stats most weeks...unless cujo starts showing his age.

I dunno about my team this year :/ I think i'll be in the playoffs...we'll see though

ZEN, perhaps a you need to trade for an offensive player to fill the gap. Perhaps you have a D-man that you'd like to part with.
