BEER FEST
No post for this movie?
Shits fucking hilarious, I didn't realize it had like every single actor from Super Troopers (Probably the funniest movies ever) in it. Anyone else see it? Landfill (aka FARVA) dancing at the houseparty almost made me piss myself. |
Thought it would be shit but I've been hearing good things about it, might have to check it out.
|
Dying to see this. HUGE supporter of Broken Lizard. Love their style of comedy.
|
wooooooo farva
gonna check this shit out next week probably |
LITER OF COLA

I really thought I was gonna hate this, but it was too goddamn funny.
|
Gonna see it Monday hopefully
|
I really don't see why anyone would think they'd hate this movie, it is made by the same people who made the funniest movie ever, and it also has about 95% of the same actors.
|
I had never seen anything Broken Lizard had done before this movie, and the previews didn't look great, but I was pleasantly suprised.
Was a little scared cuz the first 10 minutes I didn't really dig, but then Will Forte showed up and everything went rapidly uphill. |
Fucked rite now, btb.
|
Yeah, gonna see that shits tomorrrrrrrrrrrowwwwwwwwww niiiiiiiiiite.
Broken Lizard are the shit. |
Yeah it looks pretty funny. I probably won't go see it, then again I don't go see very many movies.
|
I don't go see many movies either but this one looks funny so if I don't go see it, I'll get the DVD when it comes out.

Super Troopers was pretty good. I wouldn't call it a classic, but it was likeable in the sense that if you gave me and my buddies a camera, a budget and told us to film a comedy about highway patrolmen, you'd probably get similar shit. I think that helped people connect to it. Club Dread was awful, though. I don't know how involved they were with that, though. |

The movie was fucking retarded, but I still enjoyed it because I too am retarded.

Super Troopers is the best comedy of all time.
|
WOW THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING!!!
Loved it. The more I See it the better it will become too. |
This left the local theater. Never got to see it. GOD DAMN IT. Here's hoping for a quick DVD release.
|
super troopers was retarded
|
I've seen this movie three times. The third time, though, we had a group of people staying the night in the movie theater getting drunk. After we had such an awesome drunken party, I feel obliged to buy it.

There was actually some decent self reflective comedy in Beer fest that showed some actual (albeit minor) forthought into and understading of artisitic film making, I was impressed.
Other than that the movie was fun to boot. Oh and I liked that they didn't ignore Canada, given my country is famously known for beer drinking. The hockey jersey uniforms was a nice touch too. |
It was an overall great, fun comedy.

it's about as funny as kung pow. Pretty much people that find these movies funny are nerds
|
Not even close. You are the only person I know that doesn't like Super Troopers. Such a classic comedy.
Kung Pow? I havn't seen it. lol Kung Pow |
What are you talking about? Kung Pow is pretty awful, while Super Troopers is hilarious.
I've honestly never met anyone who didn't like Super Troopers. I dunno how their is a relationship between being a nerd and liking Super Troopers though, can you explain it for me? |
because everybody that i've met that thinks super troppers is hilarious was a huge nerd
|
the snozzberries taste like snozzberries.
one of the best movies to watch when you're messed up. MEOW didnt get a chance to see Beerfest though. I'll see it when it comes to DVD |

Kung Pow was a pretty glorious film. Master Tang kicks so much ass. I do know people who would rather forget Super Troopers, though. |
Saw this on DVD over the weekend. Fucking brilliant. A lot of the jokes are more subtle and can pass by quickly if you're not paying attention. I loved Super Troopers and Club Dread and this is no different. I  Broken Lizard.
|
Gonna watch Beerfest tonight.
As far as Super Troopers is concerned, I'm not such a big fan of the movie myself. Sure, there are some redeeming qualities, like when they pull over the stoner kids, the meow jokes, and the liter cola joke. Other than that, the story is far-fetched and unbelievable, none of the characters have any sympathy, and the movie really, really slows to a crawl during the last act. In other words, it's good, but it doesn't have a very strong re-watchable quality. |
I liked Beerfest. My favorite was Barry Badrinath. "It's $10 for a BJ, $12 for an HJ, $15 for a ZJ..." Of all the Broken Lizard movies, Club Dread is my favorite.
Puddle Cruiser (Weird but some of it is enjoyable) Super Troopers Club Dread The Dukes of Hazzard (Jay was the director and the others had small roles) Beerfest Super Troopers 2 (2008) |
Beerfest was awful.
|
Nah.
|
Mmm... yeah. It was. And I was even stoned. So yeah. That's pretty bad.
|
Just saw it. It was funny. I wasn't a big fan of Club Dread and I've never seen Puddlecruiser but Super Troopers and Beerfest are good stuff.
|
Fox get the fuck out of this thread you complete freak.
|
People are so weird when it comes to comedy. People love one movie and hate another and they are essentially the same type of humor or you'll say you like something and they'll scoff and be like "I bet you like _____" when they are NOTHING ALIKE.
I think a good portion of the population out there wouldn't know funny if it punched them in the dick. |
I saw it and didn't think it was anything great. The concept is kind of funny, but there aren't any parts that I found hysterical or even extremely witty.
To be completely honest, I think the movie was made for the an audience of kind of stupid people who just like it because it involves drinking. Like the same people who think a professor is really cool when he makes a reference to drinking, even though it's not really funny at all. From the people I saw it with, the ones who fit that description seemed to like it a lot more than I did. |
Just rented it over the weekend and thought it was fucking hilarious! Gonna watch it again tonight.
"Look, the little one has pubes on his head. No, it works for you though because you have a dickface." "HE'S GOT THE EYE OF THE JEW!" |
Quote:
And I'm sorry, but I just didn't think the movie had any redeeming qualities. By the end of the film, I knew how it would go down, and I honestly didn't care one way or another. I felt the characters were trying way too hard to be funny. And Farva coming back as his twin brother? I know it was supposed to be a purposely lame plot twist, but when you purposely ham up the idiocy of a storyline in your movie, it must be done with a certain finesse. I don't think that happened here. I'm sorry. I just didn't like it. |
FOX I TOLD YOU TO GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.
|
I agree with Fox, like honestly, the writing wasn't funny at all, all of the comedy was in the subject matter.
|
BCWWF has also been banned from this thread.
|
I bet you are like 19 years old, right?
|
Well you could just look at my profile ... no? I get the subtle point you are trying to make though. Good job bud.
|
shit, I'm 19. and I still didn't like it.
it must be a maturity thing. jk. seriously. i just didn't like the movie. no offense to anyone who did like it, or has some kind of mancrush on it. |
Quote:
It isn't really a subtle point. People from 18-20 are generally a lot more enamored with the concept of drinking than people who are of age. |

Also, Super Troopers was ROFL
Gonna see Beerfest on DVD eventually. |

I have been drinking since I was about 13. Also been going to the bars steadily since I was 17. I don't find it funny because I like to drink, I find it funny because it is funny. |
So be it. I just think that most of the people who like it are the people who think they are really cool and unique for drinking.
|
well i'm thinking thats the demographic they went for there
