Will you watch wrestling for the rest of your life?
If not, how old do you think you'll be when you stop watching.
Discuss. |
Stopped already. But Unforgiven is proving might tempting
|
I would guess sometime in the next 5 years. I am now at the point where even if I am home and have nothing to do, I simply have NO interest in RAW or SmackDown. A couple of years ago I simply could not imagine not trying to watch every wrestling show, never mind simply not watching them even if I have the chance. I watch ECW and TNA every week though...but still I suspect in 5 years I will be totally done.
|
Right now I read the results, and try to catch it. But I don't go out of my way to watch it. Although now that I get ECW that has changed, and if we get TNA I know I'll watch that.
I suspect I'l pretty much always watch it, or at least read the results and watch the bits that interest me. |
only thing worth watching is jeff hardy vs edge and batista vs king booker wasnt for that id stop watching it :shifty: :shifty:
|
Probably sometime soon. Maybe not.

I make sure I catch every show, and I order every PPV. Can't see myself ever stopping to be honest.
|
As soon as Cena drops the title/quits/turns heel
I dont mean this from a Cena hating point of view, he just doesnt do anything for me at the moment, its kinda boring, and as for the boogeyman, well that's just embarrasing. Its like WWE are targeting VERY small kids, but adding sex storylines at the same time, I cant get a grip on it. |

I am going to stop around the 8th of July 2006. Which If you don't catch my drift I mean I don't watch wrestling anymore I read about it.

Stop wasting your time/money, that' s my advice. Just think if there's anything you would've missed out on if you hadn't ordered all those ppvs. I haven't ordered any ppvs for the last 3 years other than WM this year. I didn't order WM the two years before that either and you know what? I've missed out on fuck all. Wrestling is no better than it was back then so it just seems like these ppvs today are worthless, though Unforgiven is tempting me. |
Unforgiven is probably going to be one of the biggest disappointments in wrestling history tbh
|
I stopped ages ago. Wrest, ling is the biggest load of crap on t.v
|
If it gets better then I'll watch. I'm not wasting my time watching TV I don't like. If I here something is good then I'll check it out.

I don't think I'll ever stop watching completly, but as of now I watch whenever I'm home. If I have things to do though I don't regret missing it. I'll probably always catch a show here and there even as I get older, but the shows and ppv's I order will be cut down a lot.
|
Probably never.

That's all Raw is to me. A glaring reminder that my social life sucks. Smackdown, at least, I often watch with friends. And that's the only real reason. Vince did what my parents couldn't do. He's stopped me from trying to watch wrestling. |
Probably

Never. Not possible. I love wrestling. Even shitty wrestling.

If I do stop completely, I'll try to watch around the road to WrestleMania

I enjoy RAW and ECW so that's pretty much all I watch. I watch SmackDown! once in a blue moon if they advertise something that interests me. TNA is utter shit and I haven't watched it since December.
|
I will never stop watching wrestling...
You can quote me on that. |
I just usually tape it nowadays so I can skip through it really fast.
|
Probably never.
I was really into TNA when it debuted, but when Russo took over, I lost interest immediately (the shows were awful too). Now, I watch TNA if I remember it's on, or if there is nothing else on. |
I haven't watched a wrestling show in about 3 weeks, I've just had other things going on. Pretty much, when I'm home for Christmas break or summer I watch, other than that I just keep up with it online.
|
Yep.
|
Well I don't have Sky anymore, so I can't watch until I get my own place which is likely to be next year.
I'll still read the results and buy the DVD's. I've been watching for 13/14 years now and don't intend to stop. |
I don't think I'll ever 'stop' completely. I go through phases with wrestling. Like I watch for about 2 years straight, then don't really watch it at all for 3-6 months, with the exception of one or two main events from RAW or something. But I don't think I'll ever stop completely. I love wrestling, everything about it really, although I don't usually go out of my way to catch the first RAW or Smackdown, because I'm usually out so I sometimes end up watching the repeat shows.
|
Used to try and watch Impact every week, but with Jarrett still on top and those worn out bastards the James Gang, I just don't have any interest in it anymore.
Nothing on RAW is of interest to me. The only highlights have been Mick Foley's promos, which are gone now. Don't watch Smackdown because it doesn't really have any stars. The only wrestling I'm really into these days is ECW, and that's mainly for Sabu, RVD and CM Punk. And even with my interest peaking with those 3 wrestlers, I still usually just tape it on Tuesday nights (I always seem to have something to do on Tuesdays), and then fast forward through a lot of it the next day, which makes it about 30-40 minutes of real wrestling. I think when I transfer to my new college in the Winter I won't watch wrestling at all anymore. I got addicted to it during the Monday Night Wars, but for the past few years its really just a habitual viewing. Sometimes you just have to let go of things, I guess. |

My grandpa watched it back when people "knew" it was "real." It has been a part of my family's life ever since, and I plan on keeping it up. While my brothers and sister no longer watch it (albeit one of my bros tries to keep up, but it's kinda hard to from the middle east) I'm going to keep this alive in my family. When I settle down and have kids (not anytime soon!) I'm going to introduce wrestling to them. It's something that'll never go away when I'm around. |
I figure too at the very worst if I stop watching the current product because it just gets to bad to watch, I still have my videos and DVD's to watch, so I will never stop watching wrestling completly.
|
I'll probably never completely stop. I mean, I barely watch now but I still catch like... an episode of Smackdown a month and watch the ECW show as it becomes available on Hardcore Hangover. That'll probably continue to be about as much as I watch for the rest of my life baring something incredibly interesting.
|
I'd just like to say I've been watching wrestling for 25 years (since I was 4) and it's my job now. How in the hell could I give up my entire life worth of being a devoted fan AND my career? Clearly no, again, I will not stop.
|
I tape raw every monday
i usually forget about smackdown :-\ |
This summer my interest has declined dramatically, sadly. I haven't seen Smackdown since around Wrestlemania (just read spoilers now) and I haven't seen ECW since the second show. And TNA I haven't seen in ages.
I still watch RAW but on DVR, and I fast forward through most of it. I dunno, I'd like to continue watching but it's getting harder. I think if I do ever stop watching completely, I will always at least try to follow what's going on, via internet or something. I did order Summerslam however, and Unforgiven is tempting me. So I dunno wtf my feelings towards wrestling are anymore. |

I'll never stop watching wrestling, EVER. I don't care how crappy storylines are or the wrestlers being pushed, it's still more entertaining than 95% of the crap on TV today. |

I stopped watching WWE with any kind of regularity about 4 years ago. I did keep up by reading the results and still sporadically do, but it's so far removed from what it was when I watched everything I could I just don't bother. There is still a chance I would come back but that would require some sort of booking revolution.
TNA is hit or miss for me, I don't have access to it readily and about the only thing that I've seen that constantly entertains me is Alex Shelley, because Alex Shelley is the man. For about a year I just completely didn't watch anything at all, but in the last 18 months or so I've seriously gotten into RoH, I've discovered CHIKARA ( ) and I'm getting into PWG and some of the local indy stuff over here. For anyone who feels burnt out or just apathetic towards WWE and has forgotten why you even watch to begin with I would seriously recommend checking out the indys. You won't find titantrons, pyro and ludicrously expensive stunts, but more often than not you'll probably find what made you start watching wrestling in the first place. At least, I did. |
The sky package we have doesn't have the sports channels anymore and to be honest I dont really miss not being able to see raw, smackdown or ecw, I catch tna from time to time and i am really into roh. I will probably always watch wrestling in one form or another but I doubt I will see much wwe.
|
I will never stop watching completely no matter how shitty it is. I try to catch every show I can though I've missed SmackDown! a few times lately. The only reason I don't order all of the Pay-Per-Views anymore is because I can't afford it but I've been watching wrestling my whole life and I probably will never stop.

Two words - Rachelle Leah.

I've seen UFC on Bravo a couple times and I am tempted to switch to it completely.
|
I've been watching only WWE brands almost non stop since 1998, and I'm still pretty well into it. I try to catch most every show. But I never watch TNA. As long as there are people I like still on the shows, then I can see myself still watching for a while. Even though my two top favorites, Stone Cold and Kurt Angle are now gone.

Also I will never stop watching wrestling, but I am starting to prefer MMA(bascially just UFC) over wrestling now just becasue everything involves around the fighting. Pretty mich how wrestling use to be. |

You're making a future decision because it's currently part of your life. Time and time again, you amaze me by grasping the obvious in the most obtuse fashion possible. You always manage to dictate to people the point of something, even when it's obvious that was the point in the first place. But focus on the positive. At least you've amazed me. |
I still follow wrestling quite a bit, but mainly through results on the net. I don't go out of my way to watch it anymore. I tinhk I'll always at least follow it, but who knows down the road.

And it isn't just currently, IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN. I love it, and that wont change. It would be easier to change my gender using sand paper and a knife.
Also you clearly didn't read it, or you couldn't have said it was my ONLY reason to watch, as I already gave other reasons. |

I basically don't wath anymore (I haven't seen a full episode of any show in like 6 months or more), I follow on the net, If I read about something that attracts my interest (utterly rare these days) I'll check it out (like the Joey Styles "shoot" on Raw, I watched some of the Raw replay to see that, then promtly turned it off after) or track it down online but really I don't watch it persay anymore, I used to awlays make sure I was either at home to watch Raw at 9 or if I was out I'd tape it and definitely watch it later, now I can't be arsed even if I am home.

Which was the whole point of what I said. His continual ability to grasp the obvious and still miss the point. :) |
Oh no, just because I don't agree doesn't mean I missed the point. For the record, just because you say a point/opinion isn't valid doesn't make it so. But hey I must have missed the point because I'm not agreeing with you! Isn't that really your point, KK?

Regardless this is a pointless argument. The fact that I have in the past isn't the reason that I keep watching (read my first post in this thread.) Am I making a prediction based on the my past history? Yes, not that big of a shocker. What else would I base a prediction on? KK the floor is yours; this is the most retarded argument I have ever been in.
