Chris Kanyon

Do you think WWE will hire him back?

What are your thoughts on the whole situation? From his attempted suicide to what happened at the house show

ps- Don't tell me there's another thread, Canadian Crippla, because I think you are an annoying piece of shit

The One 09-09-2006 03:29 PM

Kanyon is over rated...plus he won't get over the fact he likes to suck cock and he is annoying about it. Like the man wearing a boa and pink pants who feels the need to say "fabulous" every other word. WE GET IT...you're a homo...get over it.

The Naitch 09-09-2006 03:32 PM

so what, lot of WWE stars are overrated

If I were Vince I'd hire him back, under one condition. Say faboulous once and you're fired. And tone down the antics

The One 09-09-2006 03:34 PM

I wouldn't hire him back. He isn't a draw, his fan base is like 2 people on these boards. He isn't really talented. Plus, his look annoys me. He just looks like a mother fucker you wanna kick in the face.

Crippla 09-09-2006 03:34 PM

I am not an annoying piece of shit and I wasn't gonna say anything about another thread about this because the other thread was about X-Pac. I do think if Kanyon does come back, WWE will probably put him in a high profile fued then job him out.

Chavo Classic 09-09-2006 03:39 PM

I never got that Kanyon hype, if that's what you called it. I never watched WCW in its last years, and the only Kanyon I saw was getting his ass whipped in tag team cage match against Undertaker and Kane and 'winning' the US title from Booker T. Not a great advert.

St. Jimmy 09-09-2006 03:39 PM

Bring Kanyon back, have him sexually assault Eugene.

THAT STILL MEANS RATINGS TO ME DAMMIT!

6to1 09-09-2006 04:27 PM

i loved when he was with raven, i also liked when he was part of the triad, he was a good goth midcard wrestler he would be good for that new ecw.

ron the dial 09-09-2006 05:40 PM

I think the main question here is who cares about Kanyon. And the answer is nobody. So don't bring him back. Seems logical to me.

What Would Kevin Do? 09-09-2006 05:48 PM

Kevin cares about Kanyon.

Crippla 09-09-2006 05:49 PM

Who better than Kanyon? Kevin?

ron the dial 09-09-2006 05:49 PM

I'm sorry, Kevin. I was unaware. So that brings the care count to one.

You forgetting about me? Kanyon is great in the ring like Kevin said but needs to stop obsessing about being gay.

ron the dial 09-09-2006 06:07 PM

It's kind of hard to forget you. You're everywhere.

And two is a very impressive number. I think we may be getting somwhere.

weather vane 09-09-2006 06:20 PM

Kanyon is an awesome wrestler. I wish they would bring him back. I don;t think they have any plans of doing so though.

Rammsteinmad 09-09-2006 06:20 PM

I like Kanyon. But I ain't too bothered.

(Although I thought his match against Mike Awesome from Slamboree 2000 was pretty good, and that bump off the cage was pretty cool).

The MAC 09-09-2006 07:15 PM

FOR KANYON:

YOUR Hero 09-09-2006 07:22 PM

Hmmmm...

Should I consider this a breach of the 'NO NUDITY' policy?

treading a thin line. Maybe I'll let you decide, MacGyver.

The MAC 09-09-2006 07:35 PM

Um..fine.. I'll change it to a line drawing..would that be better?

YOUR Hero 09-09-2006 07:49 PM

The MAC 09-09-2006 07:56 PM

well now theres no real nudity.. the hole is covered. agreed?

YOUR Hero 09-09-2006 08:19 PM

I just had a meeting with the Templar Knights. We are going to let this pass. We have more important things to do than give this anymore thought. The swords have been sheathed... 4 NOW!

The Genius 09-09-2006 11:23 PM

i think kanyon had a really good move set and truly was an innovator of offense. started becoming a kanyon mark when he had a feud with raven including the big flatliner onto the nitro ramp after posing as a vendor. then he started tagging with raven and saturn and that was even better.

bring him back!

Mr. Nerfect 09-10-2006 02:18 AM

Kanyon's always been a favourite of mine. I never got full exposure to him, but from his stint in the WWE as "Alliance MVP" he was absolutely awesome. He was one of the stand-out guys, and he actually *GASP* developed a personality.

The guy's gone off the deep-end, though. I used to hear all this stuff about how Kanyon was a great guy to talk to, but now he's just coming off as a depressed and desperate piece of shit. Seriously man, just go work for Ring of Honor and make everyone care about you again. If you steal the show down there, the WWE will bring you back.

The guy's pretty big, too. Like not overly huge, but he's around the 240lbs mark, isn't he? That's pretty big by WWE standards these days. The guy had talent (even if you don't think he was great, you couldn't call him "green" or "horrible") and he had a personality (everyone knew who he was back then, what with "Who betta than Kanyon?" as his catchphrase). So as far as his worth to the WWE goes, I think he has the right balance of everything to at least help guys in the mid-card. They want veterans back on the roster? Kanyon is a guy who could really help.

Hell, even if they stick him in a pirate costume and team him with Paul Burchill. The guy can lead a crowd, and he can wrestle a match. Better Kanyon than Henry Godwinn.

Yeah, I meant, every statement by him is about "since I came out of the closet..."

What's that got to do with your recent purchase of fruit loops?

...Okay, bad example.

Tommy Gunn 09-10-2006 07:50 AM

Kanyon should go to TNA (I don't know if he's already been there, I don't watch it).

I feel really bad for him if he was fired for his sexuality, I really enjoyed watching him and Raven together in WCW. He's just another ex WCW employee McMahon has hired only to stamp out and humiliate.

Rob 09-10-2006 08:52 AM

They don't want him.

I severely doubt he was fired for his sexuality.

Unless he was fired for starting every sentence with "since I came out of the closet."

Mr. JL 09-10-2006 01:17 PM

I like watching the guy wrestle and actually hope he does get hired with the WWE. However, it sounds like he needs to get himself together and move on already.

YOUR Hero 09-10-2006 02:26 PM

hb2k 09-10-2006 02:47 PM

Kanyon was a great bump guy and an funny character, but in all fairness, I haven't seen him do anything great since 2001. Then again, I don't know if I've seen him since 2001 period.

Never a main event guy, but definitely a solid midcard guy, and Smackdown could use a shot in the arm in the midcard.

Although I guess the fact he's announced he's gay finally solves the riddle over why he chose the name "Kanyon"

Fox 09-10-2006 04:22 PM

They should put him in ECW and have him play two characters:

Christopher Kanyon, a blatant homosexual with full feather boa, flippy/loose wrists and full on gay lisp, and

MORTIS! The skull masked killer who dominates every match and kills the fuck out of people with the Flatliner.

Eventually, someone confronts him about being two people, and they do this whole emotional angle where he's trying to come out of the closet and just be himself, but the monster MORTIS keeps coming back and beating the crap out of people in the ring.

MORTIS!

Seriously, if Kanyon wants back in the WWE, he should work in ROH. Kanyon could easily hang with the guys in there, plus if he gets a character, he'll be the raving sensation of the internet.

Instead of whinging and whining, there are ways to make the WWE take notice of you.

Oh I don't doubt he was fired for being queer.

The thing is he knows pro wrestling is anti homo and it's never changing whilst Vince McMahon is running things. You have to deal with that or get another occupation. Next thing women will be demanding not to be treated like whores on Raw.

Kane Knight 09-10-2006 11:50 PM

Women are treated like whores on raw?

Fox 09-10-2006 11:55 PM

Of course not.

The RAW Diva Search is a refined, aristocratic institution in which the great females of our country can "strut their stuff," so to speak, and prove why they are such valued and important figures in our country.

Afterlife 09-11-2006 12:57 AM

I find it strange that Kanyon is the one being dumped on, here. He's the fucking victim, people. He's doing what he can to gain closure on why he was fired -- and a nice "fuck you" to anyone who says he needs to move on. yes, it's tru, Vince can fire any one for any reason. But a man so big on demandoing respect had better know how to dish it out, as well. You don't fire someone without telling them why. It's just bad business.

And so what if the guy has emotional issues? If you were fired because of what you are and not what you've done, you'd feel like shit, too. Everyone deals with emotional and psychological shit differently -- and before we judge him on his actions, we'd better start some serious snooping and delve into his personal life. Otherwise, our outsider judgement of his attempts to get the respectful acknowledgement from the company may come off as "uninformed".

He needs to learn how to seperate his professional life and his personal politics. Everyone else in this country does it, he's no exception. The way he handled the situation at the house show was idiotic. If he would have been anyone else he would have been tackled and beaten outside. That's as much compassion as he deserves, not to get beaten. Not because he's gay, because he is playing it like the race card.

.44 Magdalene 09-11-2006 02:24 AM

But if your professional life gets destroyed because someone doesn't like you on a personal level, that makes them a little bit linked, don't ya think?

And just so you know, the Gay Card wins over the Race Card. And you know what? If this all stems back to the gay thing, then he's got every fucking right to throw it back in Vince's face. It's called "fair play". The company pulling bastardly shit and trying to keep it private is no higher than a worker's retaliation in showing the public how the company works.

Yeah, I'm genuinely not pissed about Kanyon doing this. He didn't interrupt a live show or do it in the middle of anybody's actual matches, and I guess getting a point across at all beats solely whining in his blog. Not saying I'd have done this, I just don't disagree too much with it.

Except that Vince has been doing things this way for years... so I mean, if you really want a job would you intentionally do something that you know URKS the person you're begging for a job? Of course it's not fair, but that's the way shit works. You're in a profession where homosexuality is frowned upon, so you keep your mouth shut or change professions. Don't ask, don't tell.

Yeah because the ECW fans would accept a gay wrestler like every other company would.

It would last a couple of months as a fad and then it would die a painful death. This is wrestling afterall.

So Vince has been a fuckwad for years...that makes it ok? That means that if you're a victim, you should just say "oh, well," and roll with it? Fuck that, you dipstick. Kanyon's the first I've heard to throw Vince's game back in his face, and you're calling him a lesser person.

And from what I've read -- and you apparently didn't -- Kanyon wasn't 'begging for a job'. He was simply asking for closure. Wanting to know why he was fired, as respect would dictate.

And fuck you again for encouraging gays to hide. Acceptance is good. Acceptance of ignorance is intolerable.

There's what I'd like, and then there's reality. Fine line. Gays should be accepted, and so should all races/genders. With that said, I'd also like to work at a magical lamp factory where I have to commute on the Magical Unicorn crosstown to the Ginger Bread Bus back to Gum Drop Lane.

Afterlife 09-14-2006 12:37 AM

You are such an asshole.

Petethegeekstreet 09-14-2006 03:13 AM

If I may be serious for a moment, In an interview not so long ago Kanyon talked about growing up as a homosexual (and some how already knowing he was gay at 4 years old, then confirming it by age 11) and how it tortured him inside. He gave the usual spiel about how it was to have to hide himself. Then he talked about getting a computer in 1996 and using it to hook up with men over the internet for one night stands (Nice job spreading diseases Chris). He made a big deal out of being lonely and having no one at home to talk to. As if it were any different than a straight man or woman without a companion. Through his career he said that no one knew that he was gay, even his closest friends. Yet he now claims that Vince McMahon fired him for being a homosexual. So if the people that are closest to him didn’t know that he was gay, how did Vince know and how did Chris know that Vince knew? Kanyon only recently came out of the closet and told people that he was gay in February of this year. More over, Vince has kept Pat Patterson as a pivotal member of his company for many years. Would a homophobic person let Patterson book so many matches?

Chris Kanyon tried to commit suicide by taking 50 pills of whatever it is that kills you when you take 50 of them (or should). More recently, he tried to kill himself by jumping off of a building, but not very hard apparently, as his brother and his friend knew he was gone and suspected something, then were able to go save him. From there Chris was diagnosed as bipolar. Ah, that explains it. But I wonder when his doctor will tell him exactly what being bipolar means, as I don’t think Chris has got it in his Mongoloid brain that Vince couldn’t have fired him for being gay if Chris didn’t come out of the closet until this year. Chris claims to be a million percent happier now that his secret out and he can be himself, but I think that this is far from the truth. Chris is obviously still emotionally distraught if he needs to blame Vince for his problems.

Chris needs to think things through and realize that no one has persecuted him for being gay, especially not before they knew he was. Kanyon claims that he is not doing all of this to get attention, as he’s already been highly successful, but I believe otherwise. While Kanyon may have achieved a lot in his career, he isn’t a superstar right now. He was last seen as a jobber in WWE and barely on TNA. I’m sure he’d love to gain a lot more success. Chris Kanyon is the epitome of bipolar, but he hasn’t even realized it yet. At first I felt sorry for him, as I know that he is just human and can’t control whatever mental disorders he might have. But now I really just feel like he is taking advantage of his situation and trying to milk it for all it’s worth. Chris Kanyon needs some therapy, so he can eventually look himself in the mirror and see where the real issues lie.

Hey KK, how about actually debate the facts I've presented instead of JUST dropping me a red dot.

Uncalled for btw.

I  KK in a non-Kanyon way.

Kanyon is half insane and half gay. the gay part is not bad, but the crazy part is why he is pretending to commit suicide. he needs to work out his bullshit, and stop the flamboyantly gay shit.

Y2Jeremy 09-14-2006 06:57 PM

I think his entrance song kick ass, by the way.

One of the better generic themes the WWE has produced. I love it. The music fits him perfectly.

It's basically the same thing as his old WCW theme?

I never watched WCW, so I wouldn't know.

Crippla 09-15-2006 09:52 PM

Oh, well it was the same theme as his WCW theme so it wasn't really produced by WWE.

Kane Knight 09-15-2006 10:14 PM

I thought it was a production theme anyway.

Crippla 09-15-2006 10:26 PM

I guess but I just don't consider it because it's not original for WWE.
