Ben Rodrigues 09-17-2006 07:39 PM

I came extremely close to ordering this - but decided not to at the last minute. If anyone can give me a solid reason to get this I'm all ears.

Skippord 09-17-2006 07:44 PM

YOU CAN WATCH CENA WIN THE TITLE AGAIN

ClockShot 09-17-2006 07:45 PM

I hear they tweaked the steel cage.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 07:45 PM

Can soemone post match by match results for this? My bill isn't paid so they wont let me order it. :(

Maluco 09-17-2006 07:50 PM

Honestly, is the first one I am watching in a while, but think Hardy and Nitro will have a decent match, and am looking forward to seeing Orton and Carlito, don't know if it is worth watching just for the two.

I am slightly interested to see what they do with Kane/Umaga, wil be disapointed if they are just feeding him Kane...but can't see anything else realistically.

Will probably go to bed before Cena (UK)

RVDmark 09-17-2006 07:58 PM

is it a 2am start time in the UK?

Maluco 09-17-2006 08:03 PM

1 am start here, and its free, so will see how it goes...

RVDmark 09-17-2006 08:20 PM

So its 20 minutes in and no-one has said a word about it yet?

Is no-one watching?

Skippord 09-17-2006 08:21 PM

Nitro won

Maluco 09-17-2006 08:23 PM

lol, its a long way back for the attitude era...

Really good first match....still has a lot to learn, but Nitro is impoving every week, good Intercontinental Champ, keeping the belt mon him for a good reign is perfect right now. LIked the focus on the knee....don't have that enough in matches anymore, decent match.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:24 PM

Welcome to our live coverage of tonight's Unforgiven PPV from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. We're looking for your thoughts on tonight's show, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to dave@wrestlingobserver.com.

We're opening the show with Johnny Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy for the IC title.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:24 PM

We're opening the show with Johnny Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy for the IC title. Most of the match was Nitro working on Hardy's left knee. There was a comeback spot where they were having trouble working with each other. Several good near falls at the end. Hardy kicked Nitro into Melina, who fell off the apron and sold her ankle. Hardy got a great near fall with a schoolboy. Melina pulled off her boot and hit Hardy, so Nitro got the pin. Lively crowd. Long opener. Could have been better, but not a bad way to open.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:26 PM

Matt Hardy consoled Jeff on losing, only for Lita to show up and tell Matt off and call him a loser.

Kane vs. Umaga is next up.

Maluco 09-17-2006 08:27 PM

UMAGA next...about to see if they have lost faith in him yet, or if Kane is gonna be meaninglessly fed to someone again..its not impressive anymore, last 74 times (inc. Snitsky) killed it.

Maluco 09-17-2006 08:34 PM

Crowd was into last one, and now the pace has really slowed, crowd has died off...

Kane struggling, Umaga running through his 5-6 moves...Kane back with a "flurry" of punches apparently.

Maluco 09-17-2006 08:36 PM

Crowd into Kane's comeback, Umaga loking for his killer thumb special...cowd are into Kane though, will be a pity if he is jobbed out yet again

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:39 PM

Double count out brawling to the back finish. Crowd hated the finish, which came across as pretty gutless. Okay match until the finish.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:41 PM

Spirit Squad vs. Highlanders are next up.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 08:55 PM

Spirit Squad vs. Highlanders are next up. Spirit Squad retained. Johnny gave Rory a high kick from behind and Mikey pinned him. Mikey & Kenny were the team defending the tag titles and the other three interfered on a few occasions. They probably used this match to tone down the crowd before Hell in a Cell, which is next. Crowd didn't care about this match at all, and we've had two bad matches and one average match thus far.

Hell in a Cell is up now.

Crippla 09-17-2006 09:00 PM

It would be the logical thing for the McMahons and Big Show to win this IMO but the key word is logical and this is WWE.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 09:03 PM

It's completely illogical for the McMahons to win. It achieves nothing.

Crippla 09-17-2006 09:06 PM

I know but this whole fued is illogical, it's only logical because they never get the upper hand. I heard X-Pac might possibly be appearing tonight as well, just a strong rumor though. I doubt he will.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 09:07 PM

If the McMahons win, it negates their entire push. It's a terrible idea.

Crippla 09-17-2006 09:10 PM

I agree but I mean the only reason for the fued was the draw that DX is and it has been all DX so far. Also JR just mentioned this is the 14th Hell in a Cell. If someone can help me list all of them in order, I'll give you green rep even though it doesn't mean much.

Hell in a Cell is up now. DX won a 25:00 match. It had a big pop at the finish. First, they put Shane's head in a chair and Michaels came off the top rope with an elbow drop. He bit the condom and was bleeding from the mouth. Everyone bled but Show. Finish saw then pants Show and stick Vince's head up his butt crack. Michaels superkicked Vince and HHH hit him with a sledge hammer shot and got the pin. Crowd was hot for the finish but until the last 5:00 it was cold for a Hell in a Cell. Shane did a coast to coast dropkick into a garbage can on HHH, who bladed his ear. The finishing spot got over great. Michaels got some "You screwed Bret" chants early, but he got only light boos from that point on and crowd was with DX.

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 09:36 PM

Lita vs. Trish Stratus for the women's title is up now.

Crippla 09-17-2006 09:50 PM

Trish wins with the Sharpshooter!!!

Petethegeekstreet 09-17-2006 09:52 PM

Lita vs. Trish Stratus for the women's title is up now. Good match. Probably best women's match on PPV in a while because they gave it the time to be. Stratus won in the middle with the sharpshooter. Real big reaction to the finish. Lillian Garcia was crying at the end. Ross & Lawler gave her a standing ovation.

Destor 09-17-2006 09:55 PM

Randy Orton vs. Carlito is up next.

Crippla 09-17-2006 09:55 PM

Yeah, you could tell Trish was crying too. I'm definately gonna miss her and the Women's division is gonna suck unless they push Victoria and Mickie James as opposed to Candice and Diva search whores.

Destor 09-17-2006 09:57 PM

Candice will get the next push in the divsion. Though I'd imagine Micky wins the belt next.

Crippla 09-17-2006 10:01 PM

I wonder how they plan to deal with the Women's title now that Trish won and she'll be gone, they'll probably do a battle royal or something.

Destor 09-17-2006 10:02 PM

That's exactly what I see happening. Maybe even as soon as tomorrow night. But a lot of people are predicting the abolishment of the title.

Joe Kerr 09-17-2006 10:02 PM

whos won at whats left?

Destor 09-17-2006 10:05 PM

Orton/Carlito, and the Main event. http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/....asp?aID=17392 There are the results

Tb1 09-17-2006 10:07 PM

ABSOLUTELLY INSANE RKO

Crippla 09-17-2006 10:07 PM

That could of been a better match if it were longer. That was one of the matches I ordered for, the main one being Trish's last match.

Joe Kerr 09-17-2006 10:10 PM

thanks..the dx match was the only reason i was gonna buy it. I decided to pass...first one in 6 years:'(

Skippord 09-17-2006 10:10 PM

Now the part that is going to piss me off

Destor 09-17-2006 10:10 PM

Crowd was really subdued for this after being so up for the previous finish. So-so match. Carlito did more flying than usual. Super looking finish. Carlito did a double springboard off the ropes into an RKO for an Orton win. Orton's mouth got busted when Carlito did a springboard moonsault and his elbow landed in the mouth.

TLC with Cena vs. Edge is up now.

Crippla 09-17-2006 10:14 PM

Edge gets chaired and Cena gets booed.

Crippla 09-17-2006 10:15 PM

It sucks Cena is getting the belt back. What a way to shit on Edge. Fucking WWE.

Tb1 09-17-2006 10:30 PM

LMAO. FU to the ladder...?

Tb1 09-17-2006 10:31 PM

5 Nuckle Shuffle OFF the ladder. This is terrible.

Fignuts 09-17-2006 10:32 PM

I still think that ppv spoiler was bullshit. Calling a win for edge after a HUGE bump or a cheap win of some sort.

Riiiiiiight.

You keep thinking that while the rest of us on Planet Reality get ready for another reign of boredom.

Tb1 09-17-2006 10:43 PM

Huge spot. Cena wins.

Crippla 09-17-2006 10:44 PM

I want to see Big Show kill Cena tomorrow night.

Big Show is pissed for losing HIAC, so what does he do? Eats Cena for supper.

Destor 09-17-2006 10:51 PM

TLC with Cena vs. Edge is up now. Absolutely insane match. Both guys took incredible bumps off the ladder over the top rope onto tables. Edge took a few of them. The finish was Edge on the top, Lita hit Cena with a chair as he was trying to make the save, but he blindedly staggered into the ladder, so Edge took the big fall over the top through two tables. Then Cena climbed up but Edge got back in. Cena gave Lita an FU. With both near the top of the ladder, Cena gave Edge on FU through two stacked up tables, grabbed the belt and won. Crowd was very pro-Edge, no more than you'd expect. Not perfect, but as high as expectations were, it exceeded them. Edge is great but Cena sure doesn't coast on his charisma whatsoever.

Skippord 09-17-2006 10:57 PM

Cena blows

Destor 09-17-2006 10:59 PM

That was Dave Meltzers opinion, not mine.

KingofOldSchool 09-17-2006 11:02 PM

Cena should've said FU to the fans and to Raw and dropped the title then leave with Teddy Long to Smackdown.

gruntyking117 09-17-2006 11:09 PM

Cena won again? Does that mean he will lose it on next week's RAW or something?

Fignuts 09-17-2006 11:18 PM

Cena doesn't suck, the people writing for him do. Look at Cena back when he was on smackdown. He was awesome. Now look at him as he is on raw now. DRASTIC change in character. I think if they would have kept him as that tweener type of character, similar to austin early in his face turn, his face run would have ben much more successful.

First PPV I've bothered to watch since WM 21, HIAC was way above any expectations I had for it, it was just a fun match to watch, TLC was meh, probably because the HIAC was still fresh in my mind, the rest was take it or leave it (Trish's sharpshooter sequence rocked though)

Not a terrible PPV but not the fantastic either.

Blitz 09-18-2006 12:55 AM

My problem with the TLC was that Vince (like usual) was put over like a superman.

Not really he got his assed handed to him anytime Big Show wasn't around.

I love the way DX just kept low blowing Show to keep him sidelined, good stuff.

Were you watching the same show? His bumps left much to be desired, and I don't think I even need to address the "oh so soft" chair tap he delivered to Edge toward the end of the match.

Please, don't defend Cena's wrestling ability.

Blitz 09-18-2006 05:06 AM

Yeah, the chair shot sucked. Everything else was fine. Not terrible, not amazing, FINE.

Londoner 09-18-2006 06:35 AM

That was the best PPV i've seen from the WWE in years. I dunno about anyone else but it felt like an attitude era ppv to me. Also I have to point out that the Hardy/nitro match lived up to all my expectations, i'm glad Hardy's back tbh. Hell in a cell was better than i hoped for, especially with that sledgehamemr shot at the end. TLC was OK, but i knew Cena was gonna win so i couldn't really get into it. Overall i would give this ppv 9/10. It would've been 10/10 if Cena didn't win, though he did ok in that match.

the one and only 09-18-2006 11:22 AM

i no that john cena was going to win cuz lita was already in a match wit trish so she wouldent have interfer with that match any way

Please shove your head in a toilet full of acid and other unpleasant things.

Innovator 09-18-2006 12:14 PM

What was the point of Lita owning the Hardyz if nothing came of it...other than Matt looking like a doofus again?

Destor 09-18-2006 12:23 PM

Nothing has come of it yet, I don't see how that nothing will come of it at all. It seems like her words will be their motivation to get the team back together (minus Lita.)

owenbrown 09-18-2006 12:32 PM

I think its time I start boycotting RAW after last night's main event. :foc::rant::mad::nono:

How do you know it was shite if you haven't seen it? Or are you just being the typical internet fan who hates on every WWE ppv?

Mr. Nerfect 09-18-2006 08:20 PM

The quality was actually right up there. I'm a little upset about a few things, though.

Fuck you WWE for putting Orton over Carlito. Suck a fat dick for giving the coke-head a more consistent push than a guy that could one day carry your company. Fuckheads.

John Cena may have looked like a star when he was on top of the ladder, but it doesn't change the fact he is a horrible choice for Champion, and when you really look at the TLC Match, every single bit of awesomeness in it came from Edge. John Cena took a pretty nice table bump, but so has Bubba Ray Dudley. Let's put the WWE Championship on him! Way to completely give SmackDown! the shaft. Fuckheads. I hope CW cancels them.

Also...COME ON CANADA! You were supposed to shit all over the Hell in a Cell Match. I felt let down, as part of the reason I ordered the event was because of the Toronto crowd, hoping they wouldn't put up with the WWE's shit.

ClockShot 09-18-2006 08:27 PM

From what I heard. It was actually a very good show. Only downers were Kane vs. Umaga and bits and pieces of the Nitro vs. Hardy match.

There wasn't anything really wrong with the HIAC match though. It had some decent spots, a humerous way to keep Show out of the picture, a pretty nice sledgeshot finish, not saying it is a 5 star classic but it was hardly the disaster it could have been.

Sadistic 09-19-2006 09:16 AM

Cena...Jesus Christ he ruined what could have been a good spot. He botches the powerbomb by being a pussy and holding onto the ropes.
And WHAT THE FUCK was with that weak chaitshot. I sure hope he got spat on.

I don't know, it just seemed like a lot of people here thought it sucked. But I've heard both sides, so now I'm confused.

Crippla 09-19-2006 05:28 PM

It wasn't great but it wasn't the worst. I mean with the acception of the shitty finishes and a couple matches it was alright. The TLC match was good despite the obvious and bullshit result.
