YOUR Hero 10-01-2006 10:46 PM

Jays win WS by default because they had a better record against the Twins.

BCWWF 10-01-2006 10:51 PM

DS
Yankees over Detroit - 3-1, I think Detroit might pull off the first game
Twins over Oakland - 3-2, this might be harder than people think
Mets over Dodgers - 3-2, some growing pains, but pull it off
Padres over St. Louis - 3-1, the Cards are just awful

CS
Twins over Yankees - 4-3, I can't root against my team
Padres over Mets - 4-2, meh

World Series (Poor ratings galore)
Twins over Padres - 4-2, c'mon.

The Miz 10-01-2006 11:05 PM

My one postseason lock is that the AL sweeps the NL in the World Series. It doesn't matter who the teams are.

RoXer 10-01-2006 11:22 PM

Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves (ATL 3-2)
St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants (SF 3-1)

Oakland Athletics vs. Minnesota Twins (OAK 3-1)
Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees (CHW 3-2)

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants (ATL 4-2) MVP: Marcus Giles
Oakland Athletics vs. Chicago White Sox (OAK 4-1) MVP: Huston Street

Oakland Athletics vs. Atlanta Braves (OAK 4-2) MVP: Bobby Crosby

The Miz 10-01-2006 11:26 PM

:shifty:

Hey at least I got the AL right, minus Detroit which nobody could've predicted. And I will be the first to admit I know aboslutely nothing about the National League.

RoXer 10-01-2006 11:29 PM

Padres and Dodgers
A's and Tigers

YOUR Hero 10-01-2006 11:30 PM

Wait. You had the Cubs in the playoffs?

Can someone pull up my predictions. thx

ALDS: New York over Detroit (3-0)
ALDS: Minnesota over Oakland (3-2)

NLDS: New York over Los Angeles (3-2)
NLDS: San Diego over St. Louis (3-1)

ALCS: New York over Minnesota (4-2)
NLCS: New York over San Diego (4-3)

WS: NYY over NYM (4-0)

D Mac 10-02-2006 02:42 AM

You are all smoking something. No way will Padres beat the Cards.

FakeLaser 10-02-2006 02:45 AM

Suppan, Weaver and Reyes are complete garbage. Well, maybe not Reyes but he has under 100 IP in the majors for his career and has been really inconsistant all season. Still, I wouldn't want any of them starting a playoff game for me. Chris Young, David Wells and Woody Williams are far superior. Carpenter > Peavy also.

BCWWF 10-02-2006 03:44 AM

The Cardinals completely backed their way into the playoffs, couldn't even beat the goddamn Brewers. The Padres should be able to easily beat them, and right now I don't see why they aren't favorites to win the NL pennant (even though they would have finished fourth in the AL Central.

ct2k 10-02-2006 06:39 AM

Predictions:

ALDS: Minnesota over Oakland 3-1
ALDS: New York over Detroit 3-1

NLDS: Los Angeles over New York 3-1
NLDS: San Diego over St. Louis 3-2

ALCS: New York over Minnesota 4-2
NLDS: Los Angeles over San Diego 4-2

WS: New York over Los Angeles 4-1

The only other time I actually came out and predicted a win for us is back in 2001 and look what happened then, sorry in advance Razor:rant:

Loose Cannon 10-02-2006 01:11 PM

PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ct2k 10-02-2006 01:21 PM

I hope (and assume) we'll be getting game two of the NYY/DET series on wednesday, although Twins/A's is bound to be good too.

DominateR 10-02-2006 01:46 PM

My predictions:

ALDS: Tigers over Yankees, 3-2
ALDS: Twins over A's, 3-0

NLDS: Mets over Dodgers, 3-1
NLDS: Padres over Cardinals, 3-2

ALCS: Tigers over Twins, 4-2
NLCS: Mets over Padres 4-3

WORLD SERIES: Tigers over Mets, 4-3.

...but then again, like the FoX ads say, "You can't script October...:| "

BCWWF 10-02-2006 01:48 PM

Lol, I just looked at the web site for the Detroit Free Press and the Lions loss and the Red Wings preseason win were given higher play than the Tigers.

Those "goddamn Brewers" you speak of happen to be a pretty good team.

ct2k 10-02-2006 01:59 PM

Brewers were not far off for most of the season, with a few offseason tweaks they're bound to be closer to the race next year, especially considering the state of the rest of the league.

BCWWF 10-02-2006 03:01 PM

The Brewers are not a "pretty good team." They finished fourth in the worst division in baseball, and finished 13/16 in the national league. I don't care how good you think they are, if St. Louis needs to beat them in order to make the playoffs, and goes 2-2 against them, how are they expected to win in the playoffs? The only reason St. Louis is in the playoffs right now is because Houston didn't start its run until too late.

MVP 10-02-2006 03:45 PM

NYY over DET 3-1
MIN over OAK 3-2
SD over STL 3-2
NYM over LAD 3-1

NYY over MIN 4-2
SD over NYM 4-3

NYY over SD 4-2

The Miz 10-02-2006 04:43 PM

David, a team in the bottom fourth of the worst league of all time is not a good team. Thanks.

At-bats while playing for anything other than an AL East team do not count. AL West = France

A-Rod is batting 6th tomorrow night.

If the Cards win the WS, then everyone here is going to look foolish.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-02-2006 11:45 PM

I am seeing the Twins win it all after the way they've been where playing to finish up the regular season. I also agree with the Miz and see the NL team getting swept in the World Series no matter the combination

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-03-2006 03:30 PM

Playoffs suck without the Red Sox in them btw :(

ct2k 10-03-2006 04:24 PM

If Big Papi wins the mvp i'll probably stab someone, maybe Wee Gooner

BCWWF 10-03-2006 04:29 PM

FUCK YOU FRANK THOMAS

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-03-2006 04:29 PM

BIG WIN FOR THE OAKLAND A'S

I thought after not catching the pop fly in the 9th that they where going to end up losing the game in classic A's playoff fashion, I guess not.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-03-2006 04:30 PM

Actually maybe that'll happen when they are up by 2 games

ct2k 10-03-2006 04:31 PM

The Miz 10-03-2006 06:14 PM

Difference between 2006 A's and 2000-2003 A's--Frank Thomas. He is so good it's ridiculous.

But holy shit did the Twins give them that game. Was it not mentioned in the scouting report on Zito that he walked 99 people this year? How many 2-feet high fastballs did they pop up? How many first pitches did they swing at?

BCWWF 10-03-2006 06:53 PM

Yeah, the Twins have gotten better, but guys like Torii Hunter and SOOOO impatient, swing at first pitch etc. Tomorrow's game is just going to be funny, but I think the Twins will win the next three. Frank Thomas is the only offense on Oakland, so unless Harden/Haren whatever goes lights out like Zito did, I don't think they will have this much success.

The Twins just didn't look very comfortable today, which is why I like having Rondell White and Luis Castillo. Both veterans played well today, and I don't care what people say Rondell has been a solid player in the second half. I would kind of prefer to use Tyner instead of Nevin and then have White DH though. But Mauer clearly has some jitters right now, and for the Twins to win it will come down to Mauer-Cuddyer-Morneau-Hunter. I think that among those four they got one hit today, not positive though.

But damnit, fucking Frank Thomas. He looooves the Metrodome, he just easily cranked that shit out of the park.

BCWWF 10-03-2006 06:58 PM

Also, I can almost see the Cardinals having a really good post season now. The kind of thing where like everything is shitty, really shitty, but then they got into the playoffs and all the pressure was kind of lifted off. They still have some great offensive weapons, if Suppan and some third starter can pitch solid and the bullpen doesn't bite them in the ass, they can do something. Just watching them today, they look like a team that is going to be good in the playoffs.

Joey Slugs 10-03-2006 07:06 PM

The Big Hurt can still go. Oldest player in history to have a multi-HR game in the postseason.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-03-2006 07:33 PM

haha thats an awesome stat

OssMan 10-03-2006 07:41 PM

Albert Pujols 6 for 10, 6 RBI, St. Louis winning 0 to -1.

http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/mlb/box...meId=261003125

BCWWF 10-03-2006 07:49 PM

6 for 10? Or explain your stat because some of us (Me) are too lazy to click link

The Miz 10-03-2006 09:45 PM

Oakland needs to wrap it up in 4. There's no way they could beat Santana a second time in Game 5 @ Minn

I still think Minnesota will win, just because they will probably start walking Thomas every time now, and Chavez and Payton won't do anything.

YOUR Hero 10-03-2006 10:17 PM

Looks like the only series I'll get to watch is the Yankees VS Tigers as all the other ones are at 10 am or 1 pm my time. That's bullshit.

Yeah. 5-0 Yankees in the top of the 3rd

Dragon 10-03-2006 10:17 PM

Yankees up a quick 5-0 in the third. Six straight hits right now

RoXer 10-03-2006 10:18 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm skipping class tomorrow to watch the game

BCWWF 10-03-2006 10:29 PM

That last inning by the Yankees was absolutely sick!

Dragon 10-04-2006 12:19 AM

Jeter is ridiculous, 5-5 on the night

BCWWF 10-04-2006 12:22 AM

No batting title though ;)

Dragon 10-04-2006 12:39 AM

1 down, 10 to go

FakeLaser 10-04-2006 12:40 AM

Dumb ass movie by Torre taking Wang out with 2 outs in the 7th. Whatever.

Dragon 10-04-2006 12:41 AM

Yeah, that could have gone pretty bad, no idea what he was thinking.

FakeLaser 10-04-2006 12:53 AM

Torre always overuses the bullpen. Wang had just retired 6 in a row, made absolutly no sense.

FakeLaser 10-04-2006 12:54 AM

Can't believe Oakland beat Santana.

FakeLaser 10-04-2006 12:55 AM

I mean, Frank Thomas, not Oakland.

I've always liked the Cards. But I don't like the Rams.

What chance do the Royals have with people from KC supporting the Cards:(

Avenger 10-04-2006 08:21 AM

Anybody put any money on the playoffs? I had a double on the Padres game and the Yankees games last for total runs. Nothing.

Got £10 on the Cards at 14-1 outside bet. Should be interesting I think I got good odds there after how they played in the first game.

ct2k 10-04-2006 08:47 AM

Are you doing that online or at the bookies?

Loose Cannon 10-04-2006 10:29 AM

Da Bronx. 1-0

Fucking bullpen sucks. Stupid move to take Wang out. He retired the last 6 before that.

Loose Cannon 10-04-2006 10:31 AM

The Yankees playoff lineup is the sickest lineup of all-time.

ct2k 10-04-2006 10:35 AM

Mussina is coming into this off a great performance to end the regular season so i've got fairly high hopes with him as always.

Whats the deal with Bruney? The guy has such a ridiculously low ERA its untrue, don't think I can remember seeing a run tagged to him in any boxscores. Not seen him myself, whats his stuff like? Power?

He throws flames. Fastball is like 96-98.

RoXer 10-04-2006 03:23 PM

I agree with these ESPN announcers, this guy is like a baseball TO. God he is such an ass. Boy, what a horrible horrible signing. Nothing but trouble. NOTHING

BCWWF 10-04-2006 04:15 PM

What did he even do? I barely saw it, I was distracted by Morneau homering into the upper deck.

RoXer 10-04-2006 04:17 PM

Loaiza was sitting down. Bradley walked by and tossed his glove onto the shelf ontop. It hit a coffee pot. The coffee spilled and HOLY SHIT INSIDE THE PARK YESSSSSSSSSSS

RoXer 10-04-2006 04:19 PM

The coffee spilled on Loaiza and Loaiza looked at his shirt and headed to the back to change his shirt. It looked like Bradley apologized as Loaiza left and it looked like Loiza didn't mind. End of story.
