Official Cyber Sunday Thread
I need results people. Hook me up.
Hulk Hogan wins
First time I've been on these boards for a TV/PPV show in MONTHS.... NeoC is back baby!
I'm looking forward to the Flair match most, just to see the Silly Squad lose the tag team belts. |
Hope it's not first up, or that's my highlight for the night over with.
I'm guessing they're doing the "trash" match first, which would be the Four Tag Team match.
Umaga's Samoan, therefore he has a harder than average skull.

Oooh, I'm 50 posts away from hitting a grand and a half! Well, 49 now....
Only took me 7 years. Good stuff. |
Quote:
Same old power match these two have had before thus far. I'll keep you informed. |
Have the WWE voters got no imagination? Why vote to see these two face each other AGAIN? Benoit or Sandman was a much more appealing match for Umaga.
What's more, neither Kane nor Umaga have anything to gain from this match. If Umaga wins again, it's just burying Kane, but if Kane wins.... ah well, it's moot now.
Umaga wins with the Samoan Spike. |
they wanted Kane to get his revenge, makes sense...
I WAS HOPING FOR BENOIT THOUGH
Backstage segment: Sharmell and Big Show. Sharmell trying to cut a deal with Show to work with King Booker. Show doesn't trust her, or Booker. Not interested in cutting a deal. Sharmell says Show will regret it.
Cryme Tyme heading out for the Four-way Tag Team Turmoil. And Lilian says it's one fall, so not elimination rules then, which sucks. |
The Highlanders coming out to no reaction, which is a shame as these guys were looking like stars a couple of months back, until WWE just buried them. When the novelty wears off, Cryme Tyme will go the same way. Nobody has less heat than the crappy pairing of Murdoch/Cade though.
And the match type is...........
Texas Tornado match, with 50% of the votes. |
I'm predicting this match will be a total mess, with Cryme Tyme taking the win (probably over the Highlanders, why not kill them off even more, huh?)
Viscera looks like The World's Largest Scientist in his new white pyjamas.
I called it!
Cryme Tyme win, over the Highlanders. |
Cryme Tyme steals Jerry Lawler's laptop, which leads us to DX backstage...
They are angry that Bischoff thinks they're not controversial. HBK reminds us that he's the guy who put Bret in the sharpshooter, and HHH is the guy who married "whatshername". HBK then superkicks about three backstage staffers and runs off in a fit of rage. HHH finds it all amusing. Jeff Hardy heading out for the I-C title match now. |
I read that they took King's laptop, lol
He was probably trying to vote for the Women's Title Match as much as he could too...    |
And Hardy is defending the gold against......
Carlito, with 62% of the votes. |
Nitro only got 13%, ouch. Guess that K-Fed superstar rub paid off, eh Johnny?
I'm betting he's going to cause a distraction to cost Carlito...:shifty:
They shake hands before the match. Bless.
This match could really go either way, but I gotta go with Hardy to take the win. WWE doesn't seem as high on Carlito now as they did a few months ago. Still, I guess his winning the vote cements his popularity amongst the fans, so maybe the Cool Carribbean WILL get the belt tonight. |
Even though these guys apparently only find out the results of the vote at the same time we do, surely they must have some idea before hand who will be facing who etc. I mean, it was fairly obvious that Carlito would be the more popular choice of those three potential opponents, plus WWE try to sway the votes anyway in the programming leading up to these interactive PPVs.
My God, this thread is very quiet, isn't it? I know I've been gone for a couple months, but still I remember PPV nights being pretty active on the boards.
The fans chanting BORING now. Well, you should have voted for Shelton then. You can't CHOOSE the match, and then call it "boring" you idiots. |
I hope that as a result of the "BORING" chants, Carlito won't pick up the win...
Jeff Hardy wins it, with the Swanton.
My predictions are 3/3 so far. (I picked Umaga to win in my head but didn't get round to posting it because the match ended while I was still writing it.)
And next up is DX vs Orton/Edge (I think... well, they're showing the catchup package anyways)
Let's see if I can make it four out of four.
I'm picking Orton and Edge to win, UNLESS Vince is the ref, in which case I'm going with DX. |
DX having a bit of "fun" with the crowd, but they just look like morons. DX, AND the crowd.
Shawn Michaels recycling Billy Gunn's old spiel... how does that make him feel, you think?
have they revealed the ref yet?
The referee is.....
Eric Bitchtits, with 60% of the votes. |
Actually, it was quite funny. Stop being negative.
BISCHOFF! |
Coach and Vince had 20% each.
Reckon Vince might get the message now that the fans really don't wanna see him on their screens anymore? It must hurt that his old rival Bischoff had THREE TIMES the votes he did, though. |
Quote:
Hoping to see Coach make an ass of himself...oh well
I never knew Bisch was so rediculously short.
I'm going with Edge and Orton to take the win now, then.
Bischoff face turn, DX wins. Bank on it.
He isn't ridiculously short. He's about average height. He is in there with some very tall guys, you know.
Quote:
I don't know what a Bischoff face turn would really achieve though, apart from maybe the Vince vs Bischoff feud they should have run with 5 years ago.
There has been a lot of talk of an NWO vs DX feud, but I guess Bischoff and Hogan would have to form a brand new NWO because Hall and Nash would not be involved if it did come to fruition. |

We're only an hour in, and there are only three matches left on the card when this match is over. Reckon we might get some bonus matches? Or maybe some huge angle? Because surely this won't go for more than half an hour at the absolute max, the tag title match (which will feature mid-fifties Ric Flair teaming up with a RETIRED wrestler) will surely be a short affair, and the women's match will be 15 minutes max too. So don't tell me they're going to stretch the Champion Of Champions match out for an HOUR???
WWE.com article might be foreshadowing.
doubt it...i'd expect the rest of that tag match and the flair/legend v. ss match will go for quite some time...

I totally want Lita and Mickie to have a submission match. It would be ridiculous.

Edge spears Bischoff by accident. Bischoff face turn, you say?
Talking about how all CHampion v Champion matches have neded in 60 time limit draws...
Quote:
Ah right yeah, I read that article. Well, if the contestants come out an hour before the match starts (and if Lilian makes a point of announcing the time limit at the start, which they only seem to do when a match is going to end in a time limit draw) then we already know the result, and I'm going to bed instead.
well i did call the spear by Edge to Bischoff...now if only Coach would show up and take one on the chin...and then have Vince get pedigreed or R.K.O.'d...
Bischoff is out, and we have another ref, Chad Patten....
Oh, but wait, Bischoff just pulled the new ref out and he's back in the game. |
Edge and Orton win, and I'm four out of four. :D
:(
Orton with the RKO on to HHH on a steel chair, Bischoff counted the fall despite the fact it should have been a DQ.
what bullshit!
JR just called the RKO the "Pedigree". On form as ever.
More promos for The Marine! Can't get away from this shit, even on PPV. I did actually want to see this film when the trailer first came out. I'm sick of it now. |

Orton/Edge backstage interview. Edge calls Grisham "chumpstain", and talks about a "new era" on Raw. One that is rated R.
Next up is the women's title finals, and all the Divas are heading out, just in case fans choose the Lumberjack option. Let's keep fingers crossed for submission match. Do Mickie or Lita KNOW any submission holds?? |
well if all the divas are heading out "just in case" it's definitely a "divajack" match
Diva Lumberjack match wins it, with 46% of the votes. Submission only got 14% :(
Lawler has a coronary at the announcement, and probably needs to buy new ring tights now. |
Kelly Kelly is easily the best looking Diva in WWE at the moment
but are we really surprised? No. what non-gay, red-blooded male would pass up a diva match with tons of other divas surrounding the ring?
"KING: LOOK J.R., PUPPIES!" "J.R.: WHAT A SLOBBERKNOCKER!" |
I used to think Ashley was, but she's been looking rough recently.
Plus her credibility is now shot since she switched from Audioslave to that crap generic music. Not her personal choice, I know, but another case of WWE inadvertantly burying somebody by not knowing the worth of these little intangibles to their gimmick. See Sandman as another example.
Let's go, Mickie! It would seriously make very little, if any sense, if Lita wins the title, even though she is confirmed to not be leaving immediately upon the conclusion of Cyber Sunday, because if she does leave shortly after tonight, there's a very good chance she could be signed by TNA.
I haven't made a prediction yet. As I currently have a clean sheet on the prediction front, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Mickie wins it.
I'd also like to note that Ariel's breasts are twice the size of my head.
She should, but the damn writers like to pull switcheroos on some of the PPV matches, as we've seen all too often in the past...
Lita seems the more obvious choice, but then the rumour mill says she is leaving, so maybe they're going to build the women's division around Mickie. Makes more sense, as she is a better wrestler than Lita anyway.
Lita wins it, and fucks up my clean sheet, the bitch.
Lita, NEW Women's Champ!
Bull shit.
So Lita, the washed up wrestler who was formerly a very exciting luchador aerialist, wins the match with, uh, a DDT. Okay. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
90 minutes to go, and only two matches, one of which is a novelty match (Tag titles). That Main Event time limit draw is looking more and more like a strong possibility. |
I know I've already said this, but I call the Silly Squad to lose the tag team gold tonight, and split up in the process. Flair and the Legend of choice will have a short, novelty title reign.
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT! :foc: , LITA!    :nono:  :nono:
Kenny will probably walk out on the match, leaving it two on one.
Well, here it is, the Tag Team Championship match, The Spirit Squad (Champions) vs Ric Flair and either Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes or Sgt Slaughter. I'm hoping for Piper.
And Flair's partner is....
Roddy Piper, with 46% |
Piper
Slaughter only got 19% of the votes. So NWA legend Dusty Rhodes got more votes than WWE legend and stalwart The Sarge.
Piper is preposterously out of shape. I know he's got that bad hip, but still... He used to have an amazing physique.
Piper's body is old beyond his years. It's a shame. He's built like an old man. And why doesn't he wear the classic ring attire anymore? Blue trunks, blue kneepads, red boots.
If I looked liked Piper I wouldn't go out in my underwear either.
Quote:
Piper and Flair are the tag team champions! |
I called it again!!!
Piper has won his first championship in 14 years! |
SWEEEEEEEEEEET
Booker's belt is missing a jewel.
Cryme Tyme are taking those belts tomorrow night anyway, odds on.
Damn!
Backstage, and Booker trying to forge a deal with Cena. Cena agrees, for one night with Sharmell. She says no, he sends her away and agrees. Cena was just trying to test him though. Sharmell goes mental, Ron Simmons says "damn". And now a Survivor Series promo.
