Anybody else lovin' Eugene right now?
I know I am. He's way better as the retard who feels people owe him stuff than the retard who loves Jim Duggan. I hope they actually let this play out and don't forget about him.
What do you think? |
SOMEBODY DISCUSSS EUGENE WITH ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!
One of the few reasons I watch raw, lately.
I just really, really, really hope they let this ride out. That, and I hope they let Ken Doane join Rated RKO.
i love it. Pair him with Bob Backlund! it'd be gold!
LOL Eugene in Rated RKO. LOL LOL Priceless.
I like the character because it reminds me of this retarded kid I used to know in like 3rd grade who was a mean asshole. I wanted to punch him, but he was too retarded.
I think in a recent ross report or something, he teased that eugene is a much better wretler than anyone inmagined.
Which implies they're gonna let dinsmore really cut loose in the ring. Which I've been waiting for since his debut. |
Is the Ross Report written in kayfabe?
Mostly.
I can't wait until they start chanting "Retard" at him.
This is actually a good way to get him away from the gimmick slowly tbh.
Lovin' Eugene. But I always have (save the Duggan run.) It's been fun stuff.
Yeah surprised there have'nt been protests from handicapped organizations.

Then it would become 'Rated- Retard RKO'. |
He kind of reminds me of mankind...I think he did the dont make fun of me thing once or twice :p
And I agree with u guys...he is way cooler know  Eugene cool |
Good one, TL.

The writers can play up on lifelong feelings of unbelonging and rejection with the Eugene character.
I remember when Eugene was called out and humiliated by Coach on Raw, and then the Rock came out to Eugene's rescue. THAT was a classic Raw moment. Same segment where Eugene admitted that HHH was his favorite wrestler. Anyways, I think people can relate to the Eugene character with regards to feelings of unbelonging while wanting to belong. If nothing else, it adds charater depth. |
I'm waiting for someone to knock him out cold with a nasty chairshot, and have him wake up acting all normal.
I love this because it brings something interesting to his character which was getting really old tbh.
I don't really care...Well, except to pity Nick.

I love Nick Dinsmore, but even as a heel, I just can't get into the whole Eugene thing. Here's what I'd do:
Next week, Val Venis enters Coach's office, and tells Coach to fire Eugene. Have Venis look like he's taking pity on Eugene, and have him plead with Coach, because the business is really getting to this kid's head. Coach asks Venis who he thinks he is, he ain't the Chief of Staff, anymore. He tells Venis that he will give Venis a chance to retire Eugene, but only if he defeats him in a Loser Leaves RAW Match. Coach points out that Venis' win-loss record isn't too great, so he has to show what he can offer RAW, or else he will be cut in place of Eugene. Val Venis and Eugene wrestle what would be a decent match, maybe have a few "Holy shit!" spots, just to make it seem like a more important match. I don't know, maybe a Fisherman Superplex? The referee is eventually knocked down, and Eugene gets a steel chair. He goes to hit Venis, but Val dodges, and the chair bounces off the top rope, and catches Eugene in the head. Venis then KILLS Eugene with a chair shot, and positions him for The Money Shot. Venis connects, and pins Eugene, retiring the character once and for all. I know, I know. The chances Val Venis will ever win a match on RAW are slim-to-none, but they've set up a feud between the two, and the guy deserves a solid run in the mid-card, at the very least. Nick Dinsmore can return a little later as Nick Dinsmore, and actually wrestle, while Venis can maybe win the Intercontinental Championship from Shelton Benjamin (who I see taking it from Jeff Hardy in the very near-future, to set up WGTT vs. Hardys feud). |
I think he should come out next week, cut a promo.
"I'VE BEEN FAKING IT!" |
Not especially.
Bad idea then? I think that would rule, but I've had some pretty aweful ideas before.
No no, I was answering the question in the topic.
I'd love to see Dinsmore renounce the gimmick. |
That idea woulda been awesome at One Night Stand.
Like I said, I like this because it brings something new to a gimmick that has gotten old but I also like it because I think this is a step in slowly bringing him away from the gimmick somehow.

I understand how people can see how this is going to be a slow-burn away from the retard character, but even then, you're still going to end up with the stupid-ass name of "Eugene" for him. Why not just have him disappear one week, and come back the next head-shaved, and actually wrestling. That'd be pretty sweet, wouldn't it? |

They should have pulled the trigger on this a long, long time ago, and done it in a much more "extreme" way, where Nick Dinsmore reveals that "Eugene" was a character all along, and he's not retarded at all.
With the way they've done his turn, Eugene is more interesting as a heel, but the fact of the matter is he's still a retard, and he'll still have to play a retard for years to come. |
Rated Tard-K-O
Ratarded KO.
jesus christ, get off the "Nick Dinsmore" thing. Like I said, the only people that will care about Nick Dinsmore will be a few people on the net. It'd be the equivilant of Val Venis changing back to Chief Morley. Remember how nobody cared about Gunner Scott. Same thing.
Are we supposed to boo a retard?
yes
Also any angle that involves Val Venis/Eugene and an eventual name change to Nick Dinsmore that sees Nick become the same bland wrestler that Gunner Scott was (which is a very good wrestler but one that won't pull ratings) will NOT be bought by the WWE fans.
Quote:
BTW if someone was going to run with this angle and make something out of Nick Dinsmore, why would you put fucking Val Venis in there? Use someone who is even half over.
Yeah, I hate to say it but WWE fucked up Val Venis. He's a jobber for life.
I remember when the WWE first began the Eugene gimmick, and after coming under fire from advocate groups for the mentally retarded, they justified themselves by saying that Eugene can serve as an inspirational role model for the mentally retarded.
What can they say now? |
Fuck retards, Compton?
He's clearly an inspirational role model for mentally retarded ASSHOLES

Where has anyone said use him as a bland wrestler? You would put him in a feud with someone like Chris Benoit on SmackDown!, or maybe give him the Intercontinental Championship on RAW. Brent Albright was not used right, Nick Dinsmore hopefully would be. That's where the different lies. I suppose people would care about a character named "Eugene" rather than the much more marketable name of "Nick Dinsmore", though. "Yeah, I know! Let's call Kevin Nash, "Diesel"! That'd get people to care about him!" The whole point of giving Val Venis promo time, and having him work an actual wrestling match with Eugene, with some hard chair shots, etc. would be to get the guy over as well. It's a hard concept to understand, but two men can benefit from a feud. Like my admiration for the guy, or not, Venis is one of the better workers on the roster, and if you want a fucking retard to get over, Venis working his ass off is the best way to do it. If you want to get the retard off TV, why not have a guy that can get something from it do it? Oh wait, let's let John Cena retire the character, or DX, because they all need it more. Again, I stress:  |

:shifty: |
Yeah, people justify Cena and Kane, yet Nick Dinsmore somehow wouldn't work if done properly. *shrug*
Think they need to give him more than 5/8 minutes per week to get this angry-retard thing over. They need to use the majority of the backstage skits of a show of Dinsmore going around doing crazy angry shit.
He could try to put something in the bin, miss, and angrily rant at the bin shouting 'im special' before rock-bottoming it. He could bump in to Maria, ask her out and she says 'No Eugene, you are a good friend', before Eugene beats her down shouting 'im special'. He could reintroduce the bin here as a weapon. In a room with some heavy lighting, he could spot his shadow, and angrily accuse it of following him. He could kick the wall and break a hole in it revealing Val Venis knocking one out. Val could then accuse him of embarrassing him and it leads to a match in which Eugene destroys Val with a chair. (thats how you get Val some mini-screen time) Sadly, I don't think any of the above will happen. And Nick will be back to his happy-retard self teaming with Duggan on Heat sometime in the next 2 months. |
Using the bin more than once would create a pattern. Creative would catch on and would paint a face on the thing and have Eugene carry it with him everywhere. Then WWESHOP would sell an inflatable Binny for $39.95

I don't think they'll ever drop the gimmack unless they release him. By him denouncing the gimmick would be a slap in the face to the writers and Vince for going through with it.
You know, the repeated use of said bin would actually make sense. It could be a weapon that Eugene grows a fondness for and uses it in matches thereafter. Sans the face-painting "Binny" crap. :p
Oh, and didn't they denounce the Beaver Cleavage gimmick and have Chaz "shoot" and say that wasn't really him? Except in Nick/Eugene's case, it woudl make sense and be entertaining. |
It'd be harder to denounce Eugene since they say he's Eric Bischoff's nephew. At least I think it would be harder to denounce. Maybe not.
I admire that they've been able to do a heel turn without resorting to the oft-suggested 'have him say he was faking it' thing.

I think for the heel turn to be complete, they need to tag Eugene with Big Vis. After winning a match, Eugene grabs the mic and declares that they "ARE SPECIAL!" and "are gonna get some bitches!" Later, Vis goes into the dressing room carrying champagne, only to walk in on Eugene deflowering Chloe. "She thinks I'm Special!" The look of disgust on Vis's face quickly turns into an evil smile and he slowly closes the dressing room door...but not before Simmons walks by, looks in..."DAMN!" :shifty: Yeah, I know...but therapy ain't cheap nowadays! |
Russo? Is that you?
Naw, if I were Russo I'd have replaced Chloe with David Arquette. ;)
I loved the new 'invisible man' gimmick they gave Eugene this week.
This was how I thought they should've turned Eugene a year and a half ago

I remember your post. It was a good idea, and still is. If they brought in the lawyer next week, it'd be perfect timing and might explain his absence this week.

I would love to see Bischoff brought back again to start a Retard World Order. "My Uncle Eric says that Angry Retards = Controversy! We have 10 words for ya...'We're Droolin All Over!" RWO! RWO!! RWO!!! |
Followed by a severely botched RKO and bunny-ear signs instead of the Wolfpac signs.
They then decide to steal the DX taunt but alter it so that the arms cross at the chest. Watch. Try and do it across the chest instead of the crotch. Get it? |
No, you'd have her win the World Title in a Kibbles-N-Bits on a Pole tag match.
