Ok, I think I'm done with Raw (Spoliers)
I have always considered myself to be a passionate wrestling fan. Through it all, I've stayed with the product like a battered housewife hoping that things will get better. Tonight, I spent the night at a friend's as usual but instead played a combination of Guitar Hero, Monopoly and Scrabble instead of watching raw.
Time well spent, let me tell you. I don't get it. What does Cena/Federline accomplish? Unless they're gonna give Fed the belt? (Which would make most fans cringe and turn off the tv) Or unless Fed is gonna be a regular on the roster (Equally pointless when you consider how he's been built up) the result made no sense unless we're going to a dark place where no one wants to go. And how overbooked is Cena? Its bad enough that we've gotta see him, now let's make a habit of seeing him wrestle twice in a night (which was this week and 2 weeks prior I believe as well) In what world do the writers live in that Cena is cared about to the point where we all wanna see him wrestle a bunch of times a night? Dragging Flair into the RKO/DX feud is dumb as hell. Yeah they respected Flair blah blah blah, but he shouldn't be the thing that's kept the feud going fresh. The idea of respecting Flair goes against the whole premise of what DX is is supposed to be. I can rant forever about this. But I guess what I'm asking for besides the usual commenting is for someone to reassure and give me a damn reason to want to be at a friend's watching Raw Monday nights as opposed to work, or any other place I could be. Not to say that this is the beginning of the end, but SOMETHING has to change before Raw goes completely into the toilet and gets flushed. |
I am not really interested in fully reading that, though I did skim it...anyway, what ended up happening tonight with Cena/K-Fed?
P.S. Tovo and TNN (The Nash Nation) support no longer viewing RAW. It hasn't been worth watching since Diesel. ...oh and then again for a few months when Nash was back as the nWo pt Duex. ...Oh and then like 2 more months while he was carrying HHH to a fued so intense it had to be settled in HELL IN A CELL! Nash Rules. |
Lol, I'd love to live in this Nash fantasy land you call home. :D
|
All you need to do is invite Kevin Nash into your heart as the savior of your enternal soul. Then you too will one day tear your quad while walking the streets of gold.
|
hey ToVo, would you lick Kevin Nash's asshole if he gave you the chance?
|
I'm going to go ahead and say no.
|
LOL @ people bitching and whining about Cena and K-Fed and predicting its horridness and still watching it anyway.
|
M-A-G, I've been over this, I don't watch anymore, therefore I am free to bitch and complain all day long. :D
|
No I'm talking about the people in the Raw thread. If it ends up being a highly rated segment or show they've only got themselves to blame for adding to the total.
|
Oh well in that case, uh......
Nash Rules Blitz should DIE Flair...Woooooo! FourFifty is the Anti-Tovo JBL is a WRESTLING...GOD Vote Quimby! |
Yeah, Raw is pretty terrible, I only watched the first couple of segments/matches and last night and had no interest to continue.
|
HHH angry that someone beat up Flair? A guy that he beat the shit out of a short while ago?K-fed? was David arquette busy? People will watch this as if its a car crash. The ratings will be up n Vince will be happy. Raws success is about Crappy is will be !o!

I think I'm gonna stop watching for a while. There truely wasn't one good thing to come out of Raw this week.
They had two weeks to book this shit, and months to build this K-Fed thing and it seemed like it was thought up 5 minutes before they went out there. Rob Conway gets fired? Since when did he matter enough for a match on Raw let alone a Vince face-to-face firing. Sunday is the Nitro/Hardy match yet there was no interaction between them at all. This was the worst Raw since I've been watching, and I think I've realised it's not getting better for a long time. |
I didn't read the full first post, but Federline/Cena was for ratings and ratings only.
However, I saw that and I just couldn't stand that shit. This was probably the worst RAW ever. There can never be a worse RAW than last night. It was so full of shit that didn't need to happen and void of shit that needed to happen. The only thing remotely good was the DX promo, and really, it wasn't that great. On a side note, Comcast decided to interrupt the Cena/K-Fed match with about a minute worth of local commercials. I found that funny, although they were more entertaining than the shitfest that match was. |
My watching has really declined as of late. Never thought it would happen but no way can I sit through the whole show. It's the same crap every week.
|
Cry, cry, cry.
|
I haven't watched any wrestling in...forever. So what does that say bout me?

It's called media exposure. Yes, it's K-Fed, but it still gets them airtime on all of the Hollywood news shows and stuff of that nature.
It promotes WWE, it gives them exposure that they need right now. Doesn't mean it will change anything. Just be glad they didn't Arquette him. |

Destor?

I don't get why you're bitching about respecting Flair. That's the least un-DX thing they've done.
Let's see. DX reformed, comprised of the son in law of the boss and a born-again Christian. DX proceeds to kill everyone, and I mean everyone. DX makes a few cock jokes, but does nothing risqué. Michaels especially. They're not even bucking authority these days. They're fighting with a couple of people with no ties beyond wanting to be the next generation. Respecting Flair is tantamount to a small infraction by a soulless corporate version of DX. If you got that far and were okay with it (Which I can understand; like 'em or not, they're the best thing on Raw...), Flair shouldn't phase you. |

You are Destor, stfu.
|
No. Not the case. At least not today anyway...
|
I think the biggest problem with RAW is that it could be interesting, but the WWE is in "Cena/DX rox!" autopilot.

As stupid as K-Fed on RAW (or TV period) is, it made the local news on ABC 7 and channel 13 here in LA.

It's great publicity for the WWE, and I would be surprised if that quarter hour didn't spike by a few points vs an average RAW. |

Regular non-wrestling fan upon seeing news report on K-Fed being on Raw :- Fucking hell. That must be shit these days. Is The Undertaker still in it?

*Five days later, after TiVoing it...* RSD: Wow, this is some really good TV. |

Which isn't saying much, just pointing out. |
See...I figured it'd be on Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, the late night talk shows.
Narry a word. |

What are the latest viewing figures KK? Up/down/the same? |

Great job Vince...this K-Fed thing sure got you back in the mainstream.

The extra hour ranked 2.4. The next week should be up now, but isn't. This show isn't a very good indicator. However, I'm not saying it's a good thing. DX and Cena seem to have killed ratings, and so drawing even one person in would probably make for a bigger outside draw. Ratings were down consistantly below 3 for the first weeks of Cena/K-Fed, so I'm not stating he's a good draw, or even worthy of the extra attention (What little there is). I doubt any real celebrties want to be associated with pro wrestling anymore. I think Stalone probably only did it because he's already associated with wrestling. It seems easier to get an old friend than someone new. Vince banked on K-Fed being controversial, and he kinda fizzled. Which is a shame, but no more than Cena's movie or rap album. |

All right I cant't take it any more. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, and maybe I am, but I thought all this time that it was WCW that died in March 2001 and not the World Wrestling Federation. Is it just me or did the whole Kevin Federline pinning John Cena thing Monday, regardless of the fact that it put the match at NYR over that much more, kinda bring back bad memories of David Arquette winning the WCW World Championship? I mean, Kevin Federline pinning the WWE Champion? Great, Vince McMahon, you have done it once again! You have proven without a shadow of a doubt that you’ve forgotten more about how to produce a great and entertaining wrestling program than any of us will ever learn in our lifetimes. I hope you are proud of yourself and you can sleep at night, you sick, disgusting…never mind.
If you need to put Umaga over, fine. If you need to put over the match at NYR, fine. But not like this, is all I’m saying. Have Cena lose to Nitro, Edge, or at least somebody that’s actually been wrestling for a living, but not a wanna-be A-Lister like Kevin Federline. And I don’t care how many people out there do not like Cena for whatever reason, this is just wrong. Why not just give Kevin Federline the WWE Championship and let him headline NYR this Sunday with Umaga? You don’t think that could draw fans to order the show? Makes as much sense as having Federline pin Cena. You that that would, so why not? Then you will have had (allegedly) three people that couldn’t wrestle their way out of a paper sack having held that belt so far this year come next Monday, and we wouldn’t even be at the Martin Luther King holiday yet. Yeah, Vince, you’re right; that’s a much better idea. Either that or it’s the worst idea I’ve ever heard. Maybe I was asleep and didn’t see this on iMPACT, or maybe it happened on Xplosion, but I don’t see Abyss losing to Justin Timberlake. I mean, for your next publicity stunt, why not have Paris Hilton or Britney Spears pin Mickie James to become the new Women’s Champion, although neither one of them could wrestle or act, surely they are the right choices for the job. Maybe next, you can have Bobby Lashley lose the ECW Championship to Lance Bass, the supposed “gay member” of NSync, although I’ll argue there’s more than one. Good work, as always, Vince. And by “good work” I mean way to show everybody that you have now officially lost any and all idea of what the fans want to see. :foc: |
After Wrestlemania 20, I would have said 'thank you Vince'. Now all I could say is 'fuck you Vince'.
