Final Resolution Results
I'm not going to get too in depth with what happens in each match, as I am actually attempting to enjoy it.
So far... Rhino beats AJ Styles in a Last Man Standing match with back-to-back Gores. Chris Sabin rolls up Jerry Lynn and pulls the trunks to become the new X-Division Champion. I'll post the rest as it happens. |

Anyone else watching this right now?

No but as soon as I read the Chris Sabin thing I came
|
 I expected as much.

Whohoo tipsters points.

Alex Shelley and Austin Starr go to the 10 minute time limit, so the decision goes to the judges. Samolian Joe ruled in favor of Starr, Fat Naked Oily Guy ruled in favor of Alex Shelley, and Bob Backlund ruled in favor of both men. Nash, not happy with the draw, announces a 5 minute overtime. Shelley picks up the win with a roll-up.
|
Woooo two matches already determined by roll ups.
Are they competing with WWE on who can do the most roll up finishes in one evening? |
James Storm picks up the win over Petey Williams using the ropes for leverage on the pin. Honestly not sure what move he used, but it wasn't anything spectacular as the crowd was not hot at all before the pin. Afterwards, Storm handcuffs Williams to the ring post and attempts to break the beer bottle over his head. Gail Kim cuts him off, and starts to kick his ass. Miss Jackie comes out, and her and Storm deliver a Death Sentence to Gail.
|
Yes, I think they are.

$50 says it was a roll up. But nice to see Jackie going back to work not only a few weeks after having a baby. |
VKM is claiming victory over WWE because they haven't been acknowledged yet
|
I guess then Bischoff actually defeated Vince McMahon after that challenge Bischoff made. |
Christy Hemme bitching (nearly crying) about respect for women in wrestling. Perhaps planting the seed for a TNA women's division?
I'd plant my seed in her women's division :naughty: BG is sympathetic, but Kip calls her a slut, and gets slapped for his trouble. Weird. |

Oh I guess the Jackie who interfered in the Storm/Williams match was actually the black Jackie, not Jackie Gayda.
Oh and according to PWInsider, this PPV has been a trainwreck so far. |
Also, the way I read the results on other sites, it sounded like Rhyno dominated the end of the match with AJ Styles and basically destroyed him after the match, putting him through 2 tables- 1 via Gore, 1 via piledriver.
|
I heard the ending to the match was shit.
|
AJ didn't go through any tables. Rhino set one up at the top of the stage, attempted a gore, but AJ moved and Rhino went through it.

LAX retains the NWA Tag Titles by DQ when Brother Runt shows up drunk in his Santa suit and interferes on Team 3D's behalf.

It's been very :-\ so far. Definitely not terrible, but nothing above average.

LMAO WHAT?
Next thing you know Brother Runt is going to attempt suicide by jumping off the the TNA set. |
LAX/Team 3D was easily the worst shit of the night.
|
Best thing of the night was...well you know what I'm gonna say
|
BTW if Sabin loses it in two weeks again I will fly to Orlando and murder Jeff Jarrett
|
TNA should immediately cut Brother Runt, and freshen up VKM because they're unbearable now (but I guess keep them overall cuz I guess with mainstream fans theyre popular).

Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle 30-minute Ironman match: Joe picks up the first fall with the kokina clutch at about 13 minutes into the match. Angle answers back with an ankle lock at about 16 minutes. Angle goes up 2-1 after another ankle lock at 19 minutes. Musclebuster at 22:15 to even things back up at 2-2. Angle with a roll-up at 24:15 to make it 3-2. Joe slaps on an ankle lock with about 20 seconds left, and Angle holds on until time expires to tap. Angle is your winner.
DAMN good match. Easily match of the night so far (and I expect it to stay that way). Kind of mad that Joe lost, but it's all good. |
Congrats TNA, you're as fucked up as WWE is
Great match, but Joe winning the title is long overdue |

Couldn't tell you, as this is the only one that I've seen out of the three.

Sting pins Abyss after the Scorpion Death Drop. Looks like we’re going to have ourselves a new champ tonight.
|
Abyss eliminated via Scorpion Death Drop
|
Christian Cage wins with a frog splash, but only after Abyss nails Sting in the back of the head with the chain.
|
Christian wins via overbooked finish
|
Well that seems a tad pointless tbh.

It would've been so much easier if they just had Sting drop the title to Cage two months ago.
|
I think its retarded to have the champion get eliminated first. Sure it goes against predictability but still...And I'm just sick of their title changing hands so often, to so many different guys, at every PPV (and never on TV).
|
But of course I hate that the WWE championships never change hands and can be seen coming from a mile away when they do.
|
^ Some people are never happy, much easier to complain I suppose. I'm not bothered about the champ being eliminated first, i like the idea, makes it seem more real.

Kurt looked like he was trying to take liberties/stiff Joe in the match

Bravo has TNA now. It's on at 9pm Wednesday on Bravo2

Well we get Kurt vs. Christian next month, you know what you'd watch on Smackdown! 16 months ago.
We got two clean finishes counting the Ironman, and only ...... TWO TNA stars went over former WWE wrestlers, and one of those decisions was by DQ. Sad sad TNA |
The crossface chickenwing was the best part of the night, just cause it had Senshi cheering Backlund on

The AJ Styles vs Rhino match wasn't very good. It was a last man standing match and Rhino wanted to do some damage but AJ sat back down before the 10 count and let Rhino win.
I thoroughly enjoyed the PCS match. The crowd was really behind Shelley and kept chanting "Let's go Shelley". He dominated most of the match. Austin Starr got frustrated and pushed Nash. Nash pushed him down. Austin went on the mic and said he was tired of the PCS crap and only respected Senshi. He tried to get Senshi to leave with him but he wouldn't then he turned around and slapped Senshi and they brawled til Austin got out of the ring. Austin went to the judges table and pushed Samolian Joe and Big Fat Oily Guy then stared at Bob Backlund for a little then pushed him in the face and turned his back. Backlund took off his jacket and went loco on Austin applying the infamous Chicken-wing. VKM is boring as usual but Christy interrupted towards the end seemingly very upset about something. She mentioned that Joanie Laurer was a part of DX too and she doesn't get recognition. Then she went on a tirade about how women were disposable and she wanted to wrestle. I guess maybe a women's division is in the future of TNA. LAX vs Dudleys match ending sucked but I didn't want Dudley's to win anyways. Konnan is the heart of LAX and without him they seem boring. |
You know things are bad when TNA's got their OWN FUCKING FANS turning on them.
|
Bob Backlund and Nash in the same ring. The CROSSFACE FUCKING CHICKEN WING! Awesome.

Some of this shit apparently sounds way funnier in writing than it did live. Didn't watch it, but I'm glad I didn't. I was starting to turn from WWE to TNA, but I don't know if the time is right just yet.
|
Backlund is amazing
|
What a craptacular ending to the tag title match.
|
lol What a shite PPV, but I'll say this, as shite as it is...it's still better than D2D and a lot of other PPVs WWE dishes out.
I'm in no way excusing the crap-fest here though. |
I guess it's a matter of which smells worse: rotted shit that's lost its odor, or fresh shit that stink to high heaven. Either way it's shit, but one is slightly better than the other, while not being great.
|
Honestly, as much shit as there was to wade through last night, at least I can see glimmers of hope. Quite a few of them, actually. Austin Starr/Alex Shelley was a very entertaining match. Shit ending, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Joe/Angle was what you would expect: great. Yes, a Joe win would have been the smart move, but TNA does have that fixation on pushing former WWE employees. The only matches that really pissed me off were the tag match (SHIT FUCKING ENDING), and the main event (SHIT FUCKING ENDING).
In the end what matters is that it entertained me far more than anything that WWE has done in a while. |
Brave move to put the title on Christian again, great move though, I was feeling that he was slipping away.
|
The fans actually turned on the whole overdrawn Hemme/VKM segment, chanting "We want wrestling!" and "boring!". I can't remember the TNA fans actually shitting on a segment like that; it was a nice change from the dueling chants they had in EVERY MATCH.
|
I thought it was a great PPV. I don't get why there's so much negativity when TNA is putting on such amazing shows; especially in comparison to the "trainwrecks" the WWE calls Pay Per View.
The opener was shit. Hoyt squashed Chase Stevens. Nothing special at all. 4/10 Rhino vs. AJ Styles was a great way to open the show, and the match was intense and fun to watch. Rhino's two Gores on AJ were sick. And with Styles purposely ending the match by sitting back down after almost getting to his feet only furthers his heel character, which is really getting on well with everybody's-a-face attitude of the Impact Zone fans. Nice aftermath too, with Rhino's missed Gore through the table. 7/10 The 3-way for the X-Division Title was great. Lynn has barely missed a step after so long out of the ring, Sabin's heel character is over, and Daniels was incredible as always. Fans chanted "New F'n Show" at Lynn, which brought back fond memories. Sabin's roll up with the tights victory fits his character, but I would have preferred a more exciting finish. For that, they lose points. 8/10 Shelley and Starr had a very technical, very sound match that was only highlighted by their hijinks to get the judges to notice them. Both guys have tons of charisma. Shelley reminds me more and more of Chris Jericho every time I watch him wrestle. Especially last night, pulling out the Lionsault and seemingly doing his best Jericho impression. Backlund's rambling speech afterward would hurt the rating, but Austin Starr's antics and the Crossface Chickenwing totally made up for it. Plus, some fan yelled out "WHAT THE FUCK?" very audibly during his speech. A very fun segment all together. Nash is the man on commentary, BTW. 8/10 Storm and Williams was decent. I see a lot of potential in James Storm. Nice to see Jackie back. Weak finish hurts this one a lot, plus the length of the aftermath segment. Hard to believe NOBODY would come out to stop Storm from hitting Gail Kim with the beer bottle. Too overblown. 6/10 Tag Title match was a fun match to start, but once again, the finish killed any momentum they had been building towards. I hope this stupid angle with Spike (which reeks of Russo stench) comes to something in the end. 6/10 Angle/Joe was incredible, as was to be expected. Their styles mesh perfectly and they had a great blow off to their feud. 9/10 The triple threat main event was a great match as well, and even with the overblown ending, it put a good end on the show, and the intensity of the match made up for it. Christian is now a 2-time World Champion. Angle/Christian should be fun to watch. 8/10 Not to mention the small things, like the hilarious altercations between Bob Backlund and Kevin Nash and then Eric Young. They were by far more entertaining than anything on WWE TV these days. I hope the VKM thing is over, because it was completely pointless, as was their segment with Christy Hemme last night. The highlight was Kip James ripping into Christy and women in general, and telling her to go back to the strip club she got fired from and calling her a slut. It was an awesome show. Probably an 8/10. It had a couple down points, but nothing's perfect, except maybe WrestleMania 17. And when your choices are TNA PPV or WWE PPV, I'll choose TNA any day of the month. Probably a Sunday. |

Every match. Except for the pre-show, with Hoyt and Stevens. And then Rhino/Styles. They actually booed AJ very heavily in that match. Sabin garnered a "Sabin Sucks" chant last night in his match. The fans were clearly behind Alex Shelley in his match, chanting his name several times. Didn't hear a duel chant though. James Storm was heavily booed. Angle/Joe did have a dueling chant though. But what the fuck do you expect? |
Sounds good. Definitly better than anything WWE can do at the moment.

How you got "It was a shitty show. But at least it was better than WWE" out of THAT, I have no fucking clue. Can you bestow upon me a pearl of your wisdom and interpretational skills, Xero? Or am I too stupid? |
Never said you said it was a shitty show. I was just commenting on how if someone finds TNA less shitty than WWE, but still shitty, doesn't mean it should be praised. Which is what I got from your "especially in comparison to the "trainwrecks" the WWE calls Pay Per View" line.

If TNA was to go over the top, who would feud over which titles?
Daniels/ Angle over World Styles/Williams/Sabin over X-division AMW/3D over Tag Christy/Jackie over a womans title. That IMO would send TNA way up in ratings. |
Christian/Angle World
Sabin/Shelley/Daniels X LAX/Seratonin Tag |
