Gangrel released?? He had a job??
Okay so The Gymini (surprise, surprise...) and Gangrel have been released by WWE.
But Gangrel hasn't been on TV for about two years. He's been under contract ALL that time??? http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/3877160223 |
I thought he was released months ago.
I wonder if this is the beginning of "The Big Clean Up of 2007"... |
:'(
|
I guess they thought Kevin Thorn was close enough.
|
LOL
Poor Angel Williams. First she was suppose to replace Jillian Hall managing JBL. That got nixed. And then a few months ago she was suppose to debut managing the Gymini. And now they got released. |
I was really hoping for a Brood reformation with Kevin Thorn and Gangrel.

Shut up, Gangrel was the man.

Didn't he only hold the Hardcore title?
Edit: LOL, not even the Hardcore title... |

I think Gangrel got signed when they brought back ECW for Vampire stable, but they never used him.
|
Uh oh! Three more! Looks like it's clear out time!
World Wrestling Entertainment released several more talents this afternoon, including ECW star Tony Mamaluke, Al Snow, and Doug FUCKING Basham. From PWInsider. Alienoid just had a heart attack. |
Snow and Basham :'(
|
but I liked fucking Basham :p
|
Wait...THEY RELEASED AL SNOW!? WHAT THE FUCK!?
|
Holy shit, I never thought they'd release Al Snow. Not really surprised about any of the others though.
|
I had the same thoughts as Shadow? That's scary.
|
Know what's scary asshole? You posting in every single thread again.
|
I'm not though.
|
It's not like Al Snow was wrestling or anything.
It looks like he'll still be a trainer in OVW. |
Yeah, that's what I meant but he was released from the company all together? Surprises me.
|
You can say bye to Danny Basham as well.
|
Looks like a big roster cut.
|
Add Sylvester Terkay, Jazz, and Rodney Mack to the list.
|
|
I didn't hear about Terkay yet.
|
WWE.com, they're just updating.
Just a bunch of jobbers/guys they aren't using anyway... |
Probably one big name will be gone.
Gonna say Sabu. |
If Lashley wasn't the "ECW Champion" (and I use that term loosely), he would probably be on the chopping block right now. Why did RVD have to get busted? *argh*
Also, I cannot express how badly I want to see "The Miz" added to this list of released workers. They gotta make room in the budget for the new bikini models that WWE will be signing soon. (Seriously) |
Few suprises on that one i guess...
Terkay: Not really seen much of him since his transfer to ECW, but on Smackdown im sure he could have had a few decent matches with the likes of Benoit etc. Al Snow: Been with the company donkeys years? I thought he worked like a talent guy/scout, hohum! Gymini: The Goldberg-lookalikes, was they ever even defeated? I havent seen em in months mind, but i aint seen Simon Dean in ages either |
Apparently Snow has only been relieved of his duties as a wrestler, not that they used him much since ECW restarted. He will still work for OVW, he'll probably take over the book again methinks.
|
This slew of firings is rather ominous for ECW, don't you think? It currently stands at:
Sylvester Terkay (ECW) Jazz (ECW) Al Snow (ECW) Tony Mamaluke (ECW) The Bashams (ECW as the enforcers) Gangrel (due to join the ECW vampires) The Gymini (brandless) Rodney Mack (brandless). No active Raw or SmackDown wrestlers on the list. Surprise, surprise... |
OMGKPUNKIISDGONE!DING
|
this is great! I hope more get cut! A leaner wwe is better than havng more guys than they need.
|
i thought al snow had a job for life like holly.
|
He was only release of his wrestling contract. He's still with the company.
I'd guess either he was getting two paychecks or they wanted to cut back on his payout. |
I was enjoying Elijah Burke and The Man Bear. Oh well, I guess Burke's better than nothing.
Also, anybody notice the abundance of black guys in ECW? |
Maybe they're looking to get picked up by The WB. :shifty:
|
All these cuts make sense except for Mamaluke. Whats up with that.
|
CW. :(
|
i wonder will sci-fi ch drop ecw soon with vince getting rid of all there wrestlers

I bet Stevie Richards is holding his breath right now.
|
If they release Richards, it would only be from his wrestling contract because he has a "lifetime" contract with WWE as mentioned like Al Snow.
|
No one from Raw yet? I bet Conway gets the boot.
|
Ken Anderson is the next to go.
|
LOL, you have to be joking.
|
Gangrel. Now thats a name I've not heard in a long time....a long time.
|
It looks like they are changing the Royal Rumble match to Batista vs. The Miz.
|
CanadianCrippla, Rob Conway was fired on RAW a few weeks back, remember? [/uber McMahon mark]
Apparently, Christopher W. Anderson has been released twice...the WWE.com page has him as the 2nd and last name on the now expanding list. |
Is The Zombie still on ECW?
|
No, but hes penciled in for their main event at wrestlemania.
|
ZOMBIE VS KHALI BAHGAWD!
|
I think Tim Arson AKA The Zombie is under contract with WWE but doesn't wrestle for ECW. I think he works down in OVW or DSW but that was just a one time thing when he made an appearance as The Zombie.
|
Tony Mamaluke?! WTF?!
This guy is the goods! What the hell?! I was seriously hoping that EVENTUALLY ECW would pick up and get a tag devision going that would put the FBI on our screens a bit more. Guido and Mamaluke are amazing as a team. Fucking <s>WWE</s> ECW! |
is this the end of zombie shakespeare?

:( I was legitimately looking forward to Gangrel.
|
lol Gangrel
|
Yet Henry O. Godwinn, the wrestling pig farmer, remains under a deal. Where's the justice?
Sid Justice. |

Surprised at Snow, though. I thought he had a job as trainer for life, basically. |
job for life..bret hart thought the same thing. Vince doesnt keep his word about anythng. As far as the releases..Good! Fuck em!the cowards are jobless, weak get released, the good get mis-used on RAW.
|
It saddens me the Al Snow got the axe. the only WWE superstar who has a job for life is Triple H, and thats not even beyond falling apart pending the marriage.
A guy like Shawn Michaels or Taker I would assume are as good as family, but then again I thought that about Foley and Austin. And how about a guy like J.R? Earl Hebner was up to shady shit but that still shocks me. It seems that the "deep" bonds of the WWE "family" have fallen on tough times. |
And what about Vickie and the Guerrero family. I just read that their new home is having to be sold because they can't pay off the 500,000 dollar final payment or whatever.
What the fuck is that? I thought they'd be there for them, didn't they say they would? For the love of christ you've made enough dough off Eddie alive and dead alike, and milked the whole thing. Can't you just pay the family's house off and reuse a stage for one goddamn PPV instead of springing for a whole new overdone setup? |

Notable victories  Gotta love how they have that line like the "sport" isn't a work. :nono: |
Apparently Mike Knox is the next ECW star to get released.
But just so this isn't a clean ECW sweep, SmackDown's Tatanka is history too. These haven't been confirmed, but were apparently posted on WWE.com and quickly removed earlier. |

I reckon they lost interest in Terkay when Koslov showed up with a lot more personality.
They should've held onto him though, if any of this cross-promotion/buying out PRIDE comes to fruition. |
OHHHHHH Gangrel. Such a big guy for giving people Blood Baths back in the day. Have a release pal. Have another. a hole.
|
Don't be shocked to hear of more releases being announced today. Obviously, World Wrestling Entertainment has no plans to bring back ECW standalone house shows at this time, since most of those let go would have been undercard talents for those events. When the ECW events were first dropped, the internal belief was that they would return shortly after Wrestlemania 23. That's obviously not looking to be the case at this point.
From PWInsider. |
Apparently SmackDown writer Andrew Goldstein was released as well.
|
Only releases that bother me so far are Terkay(I have a thing for the MMA type gimmick) and CW Anderson. :(
|
CW was a favorite of mine too :(
Never liked Rodney Mack and his whole Back the Blacks thing. So he's better not having a job if you ask me. Need to keep him down. |
C.W. never got a fair shake in WWE. You would have thought that Arn Anderson would have been behind him, because if C.W. got over, no doubt they would end up associated on screen.
Plus, any new Four Horsemen reformation (like it or not, it's bound to happen eventually) would do well to involve C.W. as the enforcer. Plus he's got my initials! |
your initials are N.C.
are you like that Eugene guy? I have a buddy who has the same problem. |
I think he was refering to the initials of his name not his username.

do what? lol, is this a song or a new movie of his coming out?

What? I think he's got a strange foreign charisma which will go down well with the audience as a heel.
Come on. "I love Double Double E"? To a chorus of boos? That's gold. Terkay was the most stoic wrestler on the roster since Dan Severn. |
Or Steve Blackman before Head Cheese.
