List some bands that you can NOT stand

For example...

Nickleback
Hedley
Sum41
Hinder
Fall Out Boy
Panic at the Disco

etc

Blitz 01-21-2007 03:45 AM

Hedley.

Bad Company 01-21-2007 03:57 AM

Korn

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-21-2007 09:13 AM

Status Quo

What Would Kevin Do? 01-21-2007 09:23 AM

Hawthorne Heights
95% of new music, especially PopPunk
Staind
Nickleback
Creed

Rammsteinmad 01-21-2007 09:32 AM

I'm very open minded when it comes to music and I don't really "hate" anything. However, there is one music genre I don't listen to: this whole new rock thing.

I dunno what the proper name for it is, but it's this big genre of bands like Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, The Datsons, The Hives, Fall Out Boy etc...

I'm not one of those people where it's a case of "it's mainstream and I hate mainstream music". There really is no limit to music that I like, but this one genre just never appealed to me.

Kane Knight 01-21-2007 09:59 AM

Are Fallout Boy supposed to be "New Rock?" I always thought they were supposed to be "emo," "punk" or "nonsense."

The Hives actually annoy me a lot, simply because their songs all sound like organic techno...Just boring looped canned music.

Rammsteinmad 01-21-2007 01:00 PM

I dunno what Fall Out Boy are... it's just an example I'm using... all these bands in general, I could list more if required.

MVP 01-21-2007 03:37 PM

Green Day
underOATH
hellogoodbye
Cobra Starship
Nickelback
Papa Roach
Stone Sour
Atreyu
Interpol
She Wants Revenge
(New) Fall Out Boy

MVP 01-21-2007 03:37 PM

I can think of so many more, but those are the ones that come to mind right away.

Skippord 01-21-2007 04:48 PM

Greenday
Fallout Boy
Atreyu
Creed
Panic At The Disco
any Pop Punk
any Emo
most Rap

Fryza 01-21-2007 07:32 PM

Fergie/Black Eyed Peas
Toby Keith
Fall Out Boy
Panic! At the Disco
Flyleaf
Good Charlotte
Simple Plan
Dir En Grey
Gackt
My Chemical Romace

Pretty much, I dislike the pop-punk/emo/whatever bullshit genre type music, and a large chunk of country and 'J-Rock'. And Fergie. I hope someone runs that bitch over.

KingofOldSchool 01-21-2007 07:33 PM

My Chemical Romance
Nickleback
Simple Plan
Good Charlotte
Panic at the Disco
Nirvana

St. Jimmy 01-21-2007 07:57 PM

weather vane 01-21-2007 08:31 PM

Nickleback
Hedley
Fall Out Boy
Hinder
pretty much all pop punk and new music

No no no, you misunderstand. I've heard FOB, I just don't know what genre of music they are actually classed as.

thedamndest 01-22-2007 03:33 PM

Basically anything one would find on MTV2 right now...except Ashlee Simpson of course. The way she outwits the officers of the law for her underage one keg party in the smash hit 'La La' by taking it to a laundramat shows lateral party planning not often seen in pop videos, or life in general for that matter.

Crippla 01-22-2007 05:05 PM

Basically everyone Naitch said. Can't stand this emo shit.

Fall Out Boy and Panic! - actually, every band the Naitch listed - are about as emo as Boyz II Men.

Anyway.

Jet and Wolfmother are both terrible. They are like celebrations of mediocrity. I could also never ever get into Jebediah, as the singer's voice made me want to die.

Also, Yothu Yindi.

And the Hilltop f*cking Hoods.

The emo shit was just a suggestion for the whole genre. Fallout Boy and Panic are emo though, the rest of them he listed weren't so much. Still terrible though. There is a lot of terrible rap that I could list too.

Kane Knight 01-22-2007 09:35 PM

So what is Fallout Boy?

Kane Knight 01-22-2007 09:35 PM

shit doesn't count, as it's not a genre, but a comment on quality.

Blitz 01-22-2007 09:44 PM

Fall Out Boy is pop.

Blitz 01-22-2007 09:46 PM

Pop punk I guess, to be a little more specific.

Kane Knight 01-22-2007 09:52 PM

Almost all emo is pop though.

Impact! 01-22-2007 09:56 PM

Wolfmother and Jet...words cannot describe how much I hate those two

Crippla 01-22-2007 10:09 PM

I would call Fall Out Boy 'emo' as it doesn't sound very different. They suck anyway.

Well, I'm not even sure if the genre is actually called emo tbh but Fall Out Boy is a great example of the shit I've been talking about.

MVP 01-22-2007 11:14 PM

Here is a list of bands I would consider "emo", and when I say that I actually mean bands that fall under the general indie/punk/rock categories:

The Get Up Kids
Sunny Day Real Estate
Owen
The Promise Ring
The Early November
Joan of Arc
The Format
Texas is the Reason

Bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! are pop punk/powerpop bands that are listened to by most people who listen to bands like the ones I listed above. The point is, there are different styles of music that are included in the emo scene, and that simply saying that emo sucks cause you think Fall Out Boy sucks is ignorant. This argument can be translated for every genre of music like rap, country, and metal; but I'm gonna argue in favor for emo because it is what I prefer to listen to over everything else.

I'm not saying I think emo sucks because of one band. There is a good and bad of every genre imo. I've heard a lot of this pop/punk/emo/whatever you wanna call it music lately though and it honestly sounds the same to me. I guess it's just not my kind of music.

Hornicane 01-22-2007 11:19 PM

System of a Down.

MVP 01-22-2007 11:31 PM

I'm just saying this because almost every time I read someone post about how much pop punk and emo sucks, they always use Fall Out Boy as their example. I could care less if people like pop punk or not, but I'm trying to prevent people from saying it sucks just because of one band.

MCR sucked for me but there new album isn't as bad as I thought it would be, it's listenable.

Fallen Angel gains all respect back if he listens to Bright Eyes and Sage Francis and doesn't get a new appreciation for rap.

I can't even bring myself to listen to the album after hearing the first single. The intro... my god. When did Gerard turn into a lost gay circus boy?

dude, how can you just say "trust me, they're hated." They got 9 out of the top 100 in the triple J hottest 100 last year, which is quite an honour here in Australia.

As for the biggest thing to come out of Australia not meaning shit, at least we don't produce bands like My chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco etc...

Wow. Quite an honor in Australia. Pardon me while I say "big fucking deal."

As for the retarded "Oh, at least we don't put out crap" rant. Of course you do. Wolfmother's a good example. Very good. Because they're so bad.

As for other bands. Well, I can't tell you. Unlike "bad" bands we export, you've had like two notable acts in like the last decade. Both are panned for being uninspired ripoffs, one is totally fucking awful at the same time. I'd like to point out all the shit I'm sure your music scene has, but let's face it: Nobody gives a fuck.

I mean, your music scene must have a pretty low bar if these are the honored guys who get exported elsewhere.

Just John 01-29-2007 01:47 PM

Same happened with Pendulum, they were from Perth I think. Now they are located in London, now most people think they were originally British.

It's a big deal to you and...Oh...Ummm...Right. Australia. Don't care. If Wolfmother ranks, then you fuckers don't have many people who actually sing or play. Or, the poll's not worth a fuck. Probably the latter. Just because you put stock in it, doesn't make it valid. You're quick to bash America, but what makes this more valid than the stateside polls that like Panic and all those shitty bands (Who, while they suck, don't suck because they don't know how to play their instruments or sing like sloppy wannabes).

Sorry, you're still fucking stupid.

Since someone else pointed that one out already, I'll just call you on being a fucking retard.

By the way, it wasn't about what the US likes. It was about being big outside of Australia. Of course you're going to be proud of them, you stupid fuck, you've had 2 bands with any international exposure in the last decade or so.

Sorry, your continent seems to really suck musically. And that's not a "pro USA" thing. It's just when you can only export like 2 bands, and one of them sucks ass...

...Yeah, even emo does better than that.

In defence of Triple J's Hottest 100, you can only vote once for a particualr band. (if you want to sit there with 100 prepaid phones and spend all night opening hotmail accounts go for it) But Triple J is more than a teen radio station, infact most teens I know don't listen to it because it's too diverse. I would put the demographic at 18-25 possibly 30.

I hate that fucking song Bad Day. My god . It makes me want to scrape my ball sack with a jagged spoon.

I would put the demographic at 18-25 possibly 30.

In defense of my mocking him, SMS voting and even e-mail still favor the youth vote drastically. It's about as accurate as those phone polls they did in America to determine the President--At a time where phones were a luxury item. The medium favors the young.

Now, I don't think I really need to say more than that, but all the hits I saw on Google more or less said the same thing.

Anyway, I ask you, 'Nunder, how important is this poll to your nation?

What a horrible Top 100. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I've probably said it twice in this thread already but fuck it:

Coldplay
U2

The way these two manage to be so samey yet so successful is beyond me, but worthy of recognition I guess. They've both done half a dozen good songs and the rest is just boring and shite. Also I swear the Edge hasn't changed his guitar sound in like 30 years.

Isn't it funny that most of the shitty bands he was bitching about also place on there?

As for the biggest thing to come out of Australia not meaning shit, at least we don't produce bands like My chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco etc...

Personally, I think the Australian music scene ispretty damn good right about now, even if they don't make it too big overseas.

Gay emo > Wolfmother

seriously fuck Wolfmother
