List some bands that you can NOT stand
For example...
Nickleback Hedley Sum41 Hinder Fall Out Boy Panic at the Disco etc |
Hedley.
|
Korn
|
Status Quo
|
Hawthorne Heights
95% of new music, especially PopPunk Staind Nickleback Creed |
I'm very open minded when it comes to music and I don't really "hate" anything. However, there is one music genre I don't listen to: this whole new rock thing.
I dunno what the proper name for it is, but it's this big genre of bands like Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, The Datsons, The Hives, Fall Out Boy etc... I'm not one of those people where it's a case of "it's mainstream and I hate mainstream music". There really is no limit to music that I like, but this one genre just never appealed to me. |
Are Fallout Boy supposed to be "New Rock?" I always thought they were supposed to be "emo," "punk" or "nonsense."
The Hives actually annoy me a lot, simply because their songs all sound like organic techno...Just boring looped canned music. |
I dunno what Fall Out Boy are... it's just an example I'm using... all these bands in general, I could list more if required.

Greenday
Fallout Boy Atreyu Creed Panic At The Disco any Pop Punk any Emo most Rap |
Fergie/Black Eyed Peas
Toby Keith Fall Out Boy Panic! At the Disco Flyleaf Good Charlotte Simple Plan Dir En Grey Gackt My Chemical Romace Pretty much, I dislike the pop-punk/emo/whatever bullshit genre type music, and a large chunk of country and 'J-Rock'. And Fergie. I hope someone runs that bitch over. |
My Chemical Romance
Nickleback Simple Plan Good Charlotte Panic at the Disco Nirvana |
Alot of what's been listed: Wolfmother and Jet
|

The Datsuns are from my old Hometown. Mad small town New Zealand. And you know who they are! So for that, they are awesome. |

Nickleback
Hedley Fall Out Boy Hinder pretty much all pop punk and new music |
Fall Out Boy
Nickelback Staind Razorlight (best thing Pete Doherty ever did was punch that cunt Burrell in the mouth) Chemical Romance Good Charlotte James Blunt Franz Ferdinand |

Basically anything one would find on MTV2 right now...except Ashlee Simpson of course. The way she outwits the officers of the law for her underage one keg party in the smash hit 'La La' by taking it to a laundramat shows lateral party planning not often seen in pop videos, or life in general for that matter.
|
Basically everyone Naitch said. Can't stand this emo shit.
|
Everybody stated so far but I'll throw in Blink 182.
|
Quote:
Anyway. Jet and Wolfmother are both terrible. They are like celebrations of mediocrity. I could also never ever get into Jebediah, as the singer's voice made me want to die. Also, Yothu Yindi. And the Hilltop f*cking Hoods. |

hahahaha Yothu Yindi
|
So what is Fallout Boy?
|
shit doesn't count, as it's not a genre, but a comment on quality.
|
Fall Out Boy is pop.
|
Pop punk I guess, to be a little more specific.
|
Almost all emo is pop though.
|
Wolfmother and Jet...words cannot describe how much I hate those two
|
I would call Fall Out Boy 'emo' as it doesn't sound very different. They suck anyway.
|
Quote:
And CC, shut the fuck up. I doubt you've even heard one emo song. |

Here is a list of bands I would consider "emo", and when I say that I actually mean bands that fall under the general indie/punk/rock categories:
The Get Up Kids Sunny Day Real Estate Owen The Promise Ring The Early November Joan of Arc The Format Texas is the Reason Bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! are pop punk/powerpop bands that are listened to by most people who listen to bands like the ones I listed above. The point is, there are different styles of music that are included in the emo scene, and that simply saying that emo sucks cause you think Fall Out Boy sucks is ignorant. This argument can be translated for every genre of music like rap, country, and metal; but I'm gonna argue in favor for emo because it is what I prefer to listen to over everything else. |
Quote:
|
System of a Down.
|
I'm just saying this because almost every time I read someone post about how much pop punk and emo sucks, they always use Fall Out Boy as their example. I could care less if people like pop punk or not, but I'm trying to prevent people from saying it sucks just because of one band.

Green Day, Incubus and the rest of the wannabe "political "bands.
Still waiitng for Green Day to move to Canada |
-Les Cowboys Fringants
-Avenged Sevenfold -Les Trois Accords |
50 Cent Nelly Hedley Good Charlotte Rancid Simple Plan Dashboard Confessional Fall Out Boy More or less all rap, and emo bands. |
I respect MVP
and none of you who listed an entire genre |
Oh well I lost some respect, too bad, but its true I cannot stand either.
|
And P.O.D fuck those guys
|
My Chemical Romance.
That is all. |
Oh, and SOAD.
|
Quote:
Oh yeah. Hate them too. Good call. |
MCR sucked for me but there new album isn't as bad as I thought it would be, it's listenable.
Fallen Angel gains all respect back if he listens to Bright Eyes and Sage Francis and doesn't get a new appreciation for rap. |

Going to see My Chemical Romance in concert in February :y:

I don't really know Wolfmother, but if they're that hated, and they are, I'd have to say there may be some level of truth.

I'd rather get shot in the nads with a pellet gun than listen to Wolfmother again

When people say comparisons like that it makes me want to go on a murderous rampage.
|
Wolfmother = The new Slayer!!!!!1111
|
They are a great combination of the Who, the Flaming Lips, and Michael Moore!
No, but seriously. They sound like Jack White Started another one of his "If it's played really low-fi and shitty, it's ART!" bands. |
Quote:
they're probably the biggest artist to come out of Australia since, heck, men at work or kylie. I don't think its that people who hate Wolfmother but rather, just hate the genre of music that they play |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Trust me, they are hated. And if by "genre of music" you mean "not being able to sing or play instruments" is a genre, then yes. |
Quote:
|
I also dont think they can pull off the Jewfro
|
A few of the movies, and a few of the video games I've played have apparently featured Wolfmother in their soundtracks, I can't say I like them or disliked them. Just in one ear and out of the other.
|
Nickelback
POD Creed Metallica from any time in the last fifteen years |

Quote:
As for me though, Placebo. And the Butterfly Effect. They're incredibly fucking boring. |
Quote:
As for the biggest thing to come out of Australia not meaning shit, at least we don't produce bands like My chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco etc... Personally, I think the Australian music scene ispretty damn good right about now, even if they don't make it too big overseas. |
Quote:
As for the retarded "Oh, at least we don't put out crap" rant. Of course you do. Wolfmother's a good example. Very good. Because they're so bad. As for other bands. Well, I can't tell you. Unlike "bad" bands we export, you've had like two notable acts in like the last decade. Both are panned for being uninspired ripoffs, one is totally fucking awful at the same time. I'd like to point out all the shit I'm sure your music scene has, but let's face it: Nobody gives a fuck. I mean, your music scene must have a pretty low bar if these are the honored guys who get exported elsewhere. |
Same happened with Pendulum, they were from Perth I think. Now they are located in London, now most people think they were originally British.
|
Quote:
ok, and fuck you! I don't care what the fuck you think about 9 out of the top 100 in the triple J hottest one-hundred, beause the fact is, YES, it is a big fucking deal! Hence whyI mentioned it. As for my supposed "at least we don't put out crap" rant...wtf, when the hell did I ever say that? |

Sorry, you're still fucking stupid. Quote:
By the way, it wasn't about what the US likes. It was about being big outside of Australia. Of course you're going to be proud of them, you stupid fuck, you've had 2 bands with any international exposure in the last decade or so. Sorry, your continent seems to really suck musically. And that's not a "pro USA" thing. It's just when you can only export like 2 bands, and one of them sucks ass... ...Yeah, even emo does better than that. |

Seriously. Teens voting? That's how Fallout Boy and Panic got to be so highly rated. I mean, since teens voting=quality! |
Especially teens voting by text messaging.
yea i vote 4 wolfmuther woooo cuz there sooooo hott lolz |
Especially when you are allowed to vote multiple times. 20 total votes per teen? Yeah, this is a very meaningful poll.
|
Kylie
Backstreet Boys blue Maroon5 (Boy bands in gengral) Beyonce and her crappy band Mariah Carey The bird that sang the Titanic song Pussy Cat Dolls Nelly frutato Akon Avril laviene (sp?) |
In defence of Triple J's Hottest 100, you can only vote once for a particualr band. (if you want to sit there with 100 prepaid phones and spend all night opening hotmail accounts go for it) But Triple J is more than a teen radio station, infact most teens I know don't listen to it because it's too diverse. I would put the demographic at 18-25 possibly 30.

I hate that fucking song Bad Day. My god . It makes me want to scrape my ball sack with a jagged spoon.

Nah I remembered it later - Celine Dion.
maybe I should have just said Canada |

Now, I don't think I really need to say more than that, but all the hits I saw on Google more or less said the same thing. Anyway, I ask you, 'Nunder, how important is this poll to your nation? |
What a horrible Top 100. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I fucking hate you |
I've probably said it twice in this thread already but fuck it:
Coldplay U2 The way these two manage to be so samey yet so successful is beyond me, but worthy of recognition I guess. They've both done half a dozen good songs and the rest is just boring and shite. Also I swear the Edge hasn't changed his guitar sound in like 30 years. |
