WSX

Seriously, WTF is this shit? I heard people ranting/raving about the first episode...

Really? =/

Blitz 01-30-2007 11:59 PM

Oh come on, it was hilarious :D

Blitz 01-30-2007 11:59 PM

Hilarious for all the wrong reasons, granted, but still hilarious.

I will give you that, I was on the floor about "6-Pac"

SammyG 01-31-2007 12:03 AM

Insane moves.

McLegend 01-31-2007 12:03 AM

Who was Raving about the show?

The only thing remotely positive said about that show was exactly what Blitz said which isn't even positive.

Jeritron 01-31-2007 12:04 AM

Whats so suprising about that, its what he went by in WCW...
But WSX is so outrageously bad that you just have to watch. Its like wrestlecrap got their own timeselot.

McLegend 01-31-2007 12:04 AM

The electrocution stuff was the greatest thing ever

thecc 01-31-2007 12:05 AM

The pilot was filmed a year ago, so i'm hoping it gets better. They have some great talent.

Blitz 01-31-2007 12:05 AM

Yeah the post production effects on the "explosions" were quite phenomenal.

Jeritron 01-31-2007 12:05 AM

Oh come on its a joke and has no potential other than making me laugh AT it.

Jeritron 01-31-2007 12:06 AM

I can't wait for the pirahna tank head dunk. Now THATS a spot. lol

He went by Sixx, not 6-Pac. He was getting his wonderful X-Pac heat in arena smaller than my high school gym.

lol I now want to see an electrocution on every show.

I better get that or I will boycott

Gone Mad 01-31-2007 12:11 AM

I can take only so much bad. After all, I watched WWECW instead of it. UGH!

Blitz 01-31-2007 12:19 AM

I also loved the absolutely blatant piping in of crowd noise, and the insane ring announcer.

RGWhat316 01-31-2007 12:28 AM

I mainly watched it during commercials of ECW, but it was entertaining. Some of it was funny for the wrong reasons, as it didn't seem like a serious wrestling show. Falling and seeing pyro was hilarious, but some of the moves were cool looking. There is almost no way they can do it to MTV's schedule though. Not even 20 minutes of show with 3 commercial breaks, just will not do.

The One 01-31-2007 12:32 AM

I kind of wish I would have watched it. Just so I could see. :(

RGWhat316 01-31-2007 12:41 AM

Looking at MTV's schedule, they are re-airing it at 1:30 am and 12:30 am tomorrow night. So I may stay up tonight watch the full episode in less than 2 hours.

I hate that guy

Vietnamese Crippler 01-31-2007 02:53 AM

:wtf: at Battle Royal/Ladder match

:|

Fignuts 01-31-2007 03:03 AM

LOL the ring announcer is awesome.

I gotta be honest, I really don't mind spotfests. I'd rather see matches with great psychology, or a technical clinic, but spot matches are fun too.

St. Jimmy 01-31-2007 10:45 AM

So a WSX title match idea is Vampiro (Fat) vs. 6-Pac?

... Kay.

Xero 01-31-2007 10:52 AM

That shit could sell out the Garden in about two weeks!

:shifty:

Jeritron 01-31-2007 01:24 PM

Six-Pac is a "6 time WWE and WCW champion" and this title is "the future of professional wrestling"

Haven't you been listening to the commentary?

Caged Heat18 01-31-2007 01:37 PM

I watched the premiere episode last night, and I guess it wasn't a bad show for a trainwreck.

Arnold HamNegger 01-31-2007 02:41 PM

Yeah, I watched it too and flipped back/forth between ECW. I couldn't help but have the overwhelming feeling of wanting a plane to crash into my living room.

Dear sweet merciful christ.

Jeritron 01-31-2007 02:45 PM

I can't wait to see the ratings from ECW and WSX last night. Are they out at all yet?

If you want to get technical, he went by "Syxx", and Hollywood Hulk Hogan would usually refer to him as "Syxx-Pac". He even had it on his wrestling gear, if I remember correctly.

jindrak 01-31-2007 03:12 PM

It wasn't bad...it was different and to be honest, I enjoyed it.

Stickman 01-31-2007 05:00 PM

any body got clips they could post?

ron the dial 01-31-2007 05:27 PM

This shit is ridiculous. Not bad, not good, just fucking ridiculous.

thedamndest 01-31-2007 05:45 PM

That was the hardest sport I have ever seen. It was like watching a bleeding green beret bending a hippo over a glass covered electric barb wire fence and finishing in its ass while the hippo vomits a rare steak. Brutal, yet poetic and oddly beautiful.

Destor 01-31-2007 05:48 PM

It has great potential with the way they are marketing it in all seriousness. They have no intrest in typical wrestling fans so most of us will no doubt hate it, but I bet it passes TNA quickly.

Please don't give them any ideas.

The problem is they're not really doing anything that anyone apart from "typical wrestling fans" would bother tuning into anyway. We'll see what happens, though; I'm not gonna predict their immediate demise after one show or anything.

The Ravishing One 01-31-2007 06:57 PM

C'mon guys spoiler warning please!

Huh? Nah, the same poeple who watch jackass would watch this. Mindless humor, that's where this is at.

But it's not even decent humor, even if I didn't care about pro wrestling at all.

Destor 01-31-2007 07:38 PM

Jackass is sudenly decent humor?

Destor 01-31-2007 07:38 PM

LOOK AT THE FUCKERS JUMP AROUND, WOW! LOL, PIRAHNA!

Destor 01-31-2007 07:38 PM

Yeah, I can see the humor.

The Ravishing One 01-31-2007 07:40 PM

Destor, how many discussions do you hold at the same time?

Destor 01-31-2007 07:54 PM

12-ish. (Per forum)

Shaved Monkey 01-31-2007 08:11 PM

I agree with Destor on this one. It was pretty much utter garbage. Its too bad I didn't have ECW to flip to.

Disturbed316 01-31-2007 08:28 PM

Someone post some vids

Yeah. Shouldn't be long.

I can't stand when people rip on commentators for saying that stuff. What the hell are they supposed to do? Tell the audience that their wrestlers suck, and that their title is worthless? Yeah that'll get ratings.

Destor 01-31-2007 09:00 PM

LOL, Fignuts knows. Oh yeah: WSX NEEDS EL GENERICO.

Destor 01-31-2007 09:00 PM

Just saying.

What Would Kevin Do? 01-31-2007 09:04 PM

I enjoyed it for what it was... The battle royal was horrible, but battle royals in general usually are. The Sydal/Evans match was entertaining. I'm in the boat where I can watch this, see guys I wouldn't normally see on tv, and see some nice looking moves and be entertained, or I can watch ECW and be upset about how fucked up WWE has gotten...

Hmmm.... Entertained or pissed off....

Destor 01-31-2007 09:06 PM

I'll just watch ECW as it airs and then download WSX. That's my plan.

What Would Kevin Do? 01-31-2007 09:13 PM

To each their own. I haven't watched the last 3 or 4 episodes of ECW... Then again, I haven't really watched any WWE programming in about a month. I think they finally were able to drive me away.

Destor 01-31-2007 09:18 PM

Meh, as long as you don't stop watching wrestling altogether I don't. I'll take EL Generico vs Super Dragon over the current WWE product any day. It's like sometimes I read dilbert (WWE) and sometimes I read shakespere (RoH, IWA-MS, PWG, NOAH, etc.) But I know I'm going to get completely different experiences from each of them. And I get what I expect.

Destor 01-31-2007 09:19 PM

It's hard to let down a realist.

They could've been more accurate/informative when going over wrestler title histories and still hyped the wrestlers as well as their title.

PullMyFinger 01-31-2007 09:39 PM

I'm happy for the rating WSX got, but let's be honest with ourselves for a minute...that's hardly wrestling. That sitcom (yes, I'm calling it a sitcom) did excellent on its debut night.

thedamndest 02-01-2007 12:51 AM

You guys are missing the point here. They've only got 30 minutes, so unlike the WWE, they can't spend an forty five minutes advertising the unrated Marine DVD. They are ALL action. There's no time for 'rest holds.' WSX takes the 'rest' out of wrestling. In fact, I move they rename it wractionaling. It is also a known fact that instead of coffee for breakfast, WSX stars drink thumbtacks mixed with blood.

Pepsi Man 02-01-2007 01:20 AM

There's plenty of time for "rest holds". I liked it better when every fan didn't think they knew everything there was to know about wrestling a match, to the point where they criticize a guy for using a fucking rear chinlock. Guess what. THAT'S WRESTLING!

hitman23 02-01-2007 02:35 AM

I agree with most that it was a complete cluster fuck. But i also see them trying to cram everything into 30 minutes being one of the reasons it was so bad. The scary thing is this crap could catch on with a generation that has not grown up on wrestling. They see the explosions, the spot monkeys, and think its cool. All of a sudden the JACKASS audience has something new to watch on MTV. It could end up being huge with an audience of new wrestling fans or old ones who are tired of the current product. Dont get me wrong i love a good spotfest as much as the next guy, but ill take Benoit vs. Angle over it anyday. What im saying is this has the potential to be the new wave of sports entertainment or it will fade into the night. Either way wrestling needs a shot in the arm, but this is not it.

thedamndest 02-01-2007 02:38 AM

Rest hold is to baby carrots as WSX is to beer battered sabertooth tiger.

ron the dial 02-01-2007 11:04 AM

What?

Disturbed316 02-01-2007 12:14 PM

lol Black Label Society

First match, one for the spot monkeys, pretty shit. Oh dear god, Justin Credible :nono:

Shame Vampiro is with these bunch of idiots, he was pretty awesome back in the day.
