I think Edge is a whole a lot better than Orton. Edge definitely has a lot more talent and is a lot more entertaining than Orton. Hopefully in 2007 he'll get the title a couple more times and have a big feud with Cena or Orton. I honestly thought he would be the one to win the triple threat until it was obvious that HBK would win...

I think that like me, everyone else is sick of Cena vs Edge. So it would be better to see like RKO vs edge for the title. Or hbk involved somewhere in there. Lol

Edge's control over a crowd is impressive, and he certainly is more talented and versatile than Orton out of the ring. In ring, its not even a question.

Yeah, a couple years ago, Ortons heel persona was a lot better than edge's. Edge tried to go for the psycho angle, but it just seemed forced and awkward. Now he's grown into it EXTREMELY well, and has surpassed orton.

Through bad booking and lack of change, Orton's character sank IMO. Edge's has improved.
If you asked me in 04, I'd say Orton>Edge, but its become clear that Edge>Orton

Orton draws heat naturally for the reasons you stated, but Edge can certainly swing a crowd from booing a guy to booing him instead, and not because they actually hate him. Very similar to what HHH had going on. He's also the type of guy who can get the crowd to cheer him if he wants them to, and can turn heel just like that.
That and I respect him as an actual wrestler more, and his rise to stardom. As well as his passion for the business he works in.
