Are there any CURRENT Ric Flair fans here?

Personally, I would very much like for Ric Flair to go fuck himself. He needs to stop wrestling right fucking now. I wouldn't mind him as a manager or a GM or something to that effect, but this full time wrestling shit has got to stop. His matches suck, he looks like shit, and it always looks like he's about to die with every bump. Also, I hate when people say shit like "Oh man, Ric Flair can still go!". Well you know what? I bet there are tons of other people who retired on time that could 'still go' if they were idiotic enough to stick around, but see, THEY WEREN'T. He's STILL going over upcoming talent and really there's no use for it unless they're going to get those wins back ever.

Opinions?

Xero 02-13-2007 02:23 PM

Yeah, he's pretty shitty in the ring. He can still "go", but that "going" includes about thirty seconds of passable wrestling and 5-15 minutes sloppy shit.

thedamndest 02-13-2007 02:29 PM

Ludvig Borga > Ric Flair in his prime

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 02:30 PM

Pinning with one finger is pretty cool, though.

thedamndest 02-13-2007 02:30 PM

No, I take that back.

Ludvig Borga is 2x > Ric Flair in his prime!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh this cold weather.

thedamndest 02-13-2007 02:34 PM

Ludvig Borga had the exact same match with Razor Ramon before the Ramon/IRS match at Royal Rumble 94. Michaels interferred with the bogus belt, nailed Razor, and Borga got the pin. His music played and everything, but the the ref saw the two belts, and restarted the match right as Ramon got the Razor's edge, and yadda yadda...I want this wrong righted. Borga has never been beaten in a sanctioned match for his rightful Intercontinental title. I want Jeff Hardy stripped, and the title flown on a private jet to Helsinki for Mr. Borga.

Champion of Europa 02-13-2007 02:36 PM

I think he can pull out some good matches every now and then if he's got the right opponent. Ric Flair vs. HHH in a cage at Taboo Tuesday last year was pretty good, IMO.

He just needs a good opponent.

His promos are still amazing.

Kane Knight 02-13-2007 02:45 PM

I think he's boring.

The One 02-13-2007 02:50 PM

FUCK
YOU
ALL

Flair is still one of the best thing in this industry.

McLegend 02-13-2007 02:55 PM

I love the current Ric Flair.

Just last week he cut a great promo which I loved., and if you give Ric Flair 10 or 15 mintues for a match its going to be good.

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 03:30 PM

Yeah, but that promo was used to shit on somebody who's still an up and comer. Dunno if that's so great.

McLegend 02-13-2007 03:31 PM

How is that Ric Flair's fault?

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 03:31 PM

How do you come to that conclusion, The One?

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 03:32 PM

It's Ric Flair's fault because he should have retired 15 years ago.

Lock Jaw 02-13-2007 03:34 PM

I still like Flair... and would rather watch him than some of the "up and coming" young superstars. Even if most of his matches are getting tossed over his opponent's head onto his back.

But Ric Flair was told to do that, and also Carltio is apparently very lazy and unmotivated. So who better then one of the hardest working wrestlers ever to give that promo to motivate Carltio?

Maybe he should have retired 15 years ago, but he is still better then most of the young guys WWE currently has. For example Matt Striker and Chris Matters.

Because he still puts on better matches than practically anyone else.

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 03:54 PM

Um, no he does not.

This is a ridiculous statement. Especially the Matt Striker part. You're entitled to your opinion I suppose, but that's flat out baffling to me.

The One 02-13-2007 03:55 PM

Um, yes he does.

Stickman 02-13-2007 03:56 PM

A manager heel Ric Flair would be awesome. But WWE doesn't do managers anymore.

The only people even remotely in Flair league (even by his today standards) is Michaels, HHH, Benoit, and maybe Punk (jury is still out on how good he actually is...)

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 03:59 PM

How many fucking backdrops can you see until you're not impressed anymore?

The One 02-13-2007 04:00 PM

How many Stunners, how many People's Elbow, how many Tombstones, how many anything can you see...

Striker matches with CM Punk were horrible.

Striker can give you a decent promo, and he's a good heat getter. He's just not that good in the ring.

The One 02-13-2007 04:03 PM

Flair's worst day > Striker's best day

It's not like they spent the whole matches doing the same move over and over again.

Agree to disagree then, because I quite enjoyed his matches with Punk.

We can argee to disargee thats fine with me, because I love you.

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 04:13 PM

It's all right, 'cause I'm saved by the bell.

Arnold HamNegger 02-13-2007 04:17 PM

Since WWE refuses to make new stars, Flair is destined to become the male version of "Mae Young", but with saggier tits.

Anybody Thrilla 02-13-2007 04:18 PM

I do find Flair entertaining when he's not in the ring...but when he's in there, not so much.

Rammsteinmad 02-13-2007 04:50 PM

I agree with Anybody Thrilla's original post. :y:

Just John 02-13-2007 04:55 PM

I havent got a strong opinion as Ric Flair currently is better than some of the trash we have on the roster, so I don't think I could take an extreme negative on it. I think we all know why he is there though.

Jura 02-13-2007 04:58 PM

Sometimes I think the legend is posting but I look and it's The One because their avatars are similar.

Shaved Monkey 02-13-2007 07:55 PM

He's become really nothing more than a chop machine.

Its really disappointing I've seen like 100x better out of Flair than that.

FourFifty 02-13-2007 09:02 PM

Ric Flair doesn't get the reactions that he gets for who was, and what he's done. He gets them for who he is, and what he does.

The One 02-13-2007 09:25 PM

LMAO! I just realised 450 changed his little quote under his name. I bet he bad mouthed someone under Tovo's protected wrestlers.

Yes, when using peripheral vision lol.

Indifferent Clox 02-13-2007 09:51 PM

I enjoy his promos. But I think they should take him to Smackdown, and have him hold the U.S. title. Have 3 weeks of no matches and only wrestle on the PPV. Make the belt worth something. Make the U.S. Title only be offered in slow paced technical matches with guys like Finlay, Benoit, Chavo, Kennedy, MVP, and other guys who can actually go in that slow style while still being entertaining. It puts Flair and the others over.

Fox 02-13-2007 11:18 PM

In my opinion, Ric Flair is the biggest embarassment in the WWE today (Fat Oily Guy and the Great Khali included).

The days of his prime are long, long over. He was embarassing himself in the ring in the dying days of WCW, and that was 6 years ago. After almost a full year of jobbing in Evolution to the likes of The Hurricane and others, he is now seen as one of RAW's top babyfaces, and has been getting wins over guys who should be getting the rub from him. His constant wins over members of the Spirit Squad are more than enough proof of this.

Truly, it's not Flair's fault how WWE creative decides to use him. They see him as a staple in the wrestling industry, and rightfully so. But it is very much Flair's fault that he is still active in the wrestling business.

There comes a time in every wrestler's career that he needs to hang up the boots. For good. When he can't go out and put on an entertaining, believable show for the fans, he needs to take the long walk. Flair is at this point. For him to defeat any of these young guys (Dykstra, Carlito, etc) is laughable. They should be running over him like bull-dozers.

Are we really expected to believe that 20-year old Kenny Dykstra is going to have problems wrestling and defeating a 58-year old Ric Flair? A 58-year old Ric Flair whose body looks every bit of its age, and whose mobility and moveset are absolutely horrendous? It's an insult to our intelligence as fans.

Ric Flair is always welcome to have a place in wrestling. But not in the ring. He would make a fine GM for either RAW or Smackdown. He would make an excellent manager for any young up and comer. Flair may even have a career as a play by play man in his last days. But not in the ring. Not anymore.

The Nature Boy needs to pass it on to someone else.

Fox 02-14-2007 12:02 AM

Rebut, bitches.

The One 02-14-2007 12:04 AM

Ric Flair is God. End of story. No more need to rebut.

*NOTE* I didn't actually read his post.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2007 12:07 AM

Fox said what I said, just better.

Fox 02-14-2007 12:08 AM

God brings down the thunder. God wreaks havoc on New Orleans by fucking hot super models and creating atrocities like Katrina. God can beat you at Guitar Hero 2 under the table, with his eyes closed, drunk, and with a small dog chewing on his foot.

Ric Flair does not bring the thunder. Ric Flair does not any longer fuck hot super models. Ric Flair doesn't know what Guitar Hero IS. Therefore, Ric Flair is NOT God.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2007 12:09 AM

Flawless logic.

The One 02-14-2007 12:10 AM

Ric Flair brings forth all weather conditions. Flair fucks super models and their twins, friends, and all other females they know. Flair programed Guitar Hero in 12 minutes flat.

Flair = The man upstairs.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2007 12:12 AM

ERRONEOUS

The One 02-14-2007 12:13 AM

No it's true. I video tapes all of it...but Flair choped the camera and it blew up...

Fox 02-14-2007 12:14 AM

The only weather conditions Flair brings forth are the tears of the dead babies in heaven who are forced to watch his jiggling titties get slapped around by Kenny Dykstra every Monday night.

Flair fucks super models, their twins, friends and all other females they know... post mortem. You really think he got a DUI a few months back? Think again. They found the bodies. He got the detectives tickets to D2D to drop the charges. The investigation was opened again the day after the PPV. It is ongoing.

Flair may have programmed Guitar Hero in 12 minutes flat, but the man is not willing to admit the greatness of "TROGDOR," and he is, therefore, a fool.

My understand was that, with the constant velocity that Flair's jiggling titties were creating, the camera could not handle the pixelation of such advanced and consistently fast movement, and exploded.

I heard nothing of this "chop" you speak of. Two different occurences, perhaps.

thedamndest 02-14-2007 12:42 AM

In light of some recent neg reps I have received, I will officially recent my Pro-Borga/Anti Flair stance and declare that Ric Flair is the greatest, so great in fact that he probably put the universe in a figure-four and the big bang was caused when it tapped out and gave Flair his first title run.

Indifferent Clox 02-14-2007 12:46 AM

I got neg repped by mr. JL for my opinion

we really need to neg rep the shit out of this bastard untill he has no rep power. what the hell is wrong with him?

We've both learned a valuable lesson today. Some opinions are just wrong.

Nash a few times, Billy Gunn once or twice, and I have a running joke with my brother about when something really bad happens "at least it's not X-Pac."

eazey 02-14-2007 12:39 PM

"At least its not X-Pac."

ron the dial 02-14-2007 03:34 PM

I love Flair, but he just doesn't have it in-ring anymore. He hasn't had it in-ring for a while, actually. As stated earlier in this thread, if he has a decent opponent then he can have a good match. This is the opposite of old Ric Flair, who was the one dragging good matches out of duds. He's still solid on the mic, but I wish he would stay out of the ring.
