IF Batista beats Undertaker...
...and snaps his wrestlemania streak, it will be the worst outcome of a match since Verne Gagne pinned The Crusher in 1972.
|
Which is why he's going to win.
Batista.... SSSSSSSSUPERHEEL! |
....we riot
|
VRIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
|
I almost hope it happens, just for the fan reactions.
Actually, I don't by any stretch hope it happens. But it'd be...interesting, to say the least. |
It would be funny that they build up UT's streak and then Bats kills it to make him seem like some badass and then he gets injured the next night and is out for a year.
|
It'd be funny if Batista no sold the Tombstone in protest. Sat up and walked out on the event.
|
*Pinfall*
Fans: ............................... Batista: HAHA! I WON! (echoing) Fans: :|.................... Batista: ....hello? *Khali's music hits, fans go nuts* Khali: YOU GET DEAD REACTION! THAT WHAT I EAT FOR DINNER! *Khali eats Batista and is declared the champion* |
I'd rather Edge lose his streak.
|
id go columbine at the event...
|
too soon?
|
nah, just too late
|
Was actually discussing that with 2 of my friends tonight. One said he'd boycott wrestling, the other said that he'd fly to wherever WWE was the next day and try to fight Vince. This was until his dad reminded him that he was a pussy and afraid to fly.
As for me, I'll be pissed but I've not decided on a course of action. I think I'll let whatever my emotions are at the moment (I suspect violent rage) go and we'll see what happens. |
If Skippord had said that I would be fucking calling the feds, your fine
I could see this as the end of the streak year, Masters streak, Edge's streak, Undertakers streak, John Cena's Streak. |
If Batista did win, I don't get why that would make him a super heel. The fans would be like "zOMG! Batista is better than The Undertaker!!11 *Takes Batista Bomb sign to next WWE event*" If anything, it will boost Batista's popularity, in my opinion.
But yes, it would suck. |
Edge or Mr. Kennedy should end The Undertaker's streak with their newly won MITB title shot. That would be cool.
|
The one thing I am sure of is that Undertaker's streak should end, if at all, only at the hands of someone who themself is building a WM streak.
Hence, Edge. |
Taker's streak should end. Unfortunately, because of WWE's standings, it can't happen til Wrestlemania 30 or so. Not because of Taker, but because nobody's worth a shit right now.
|
Of everyone Taker has faced, Batista is the least worthy of ending the streak.

If Batista wins it'll be Cena all over again. |
Then again, I tend to give more credit to marks than I should, so...

Don't forget Giant Gonzalez. Of Undertakers 14 wins, probably only half have been believable compettitors and not just one sided squashes.
Kane, Nash, HHH, Orton, Flair, and now Batista are probably among the best, or most believable. Bossman, Mark Henry, A Train, Giant Gonzalez, and King Kong Bundy are among the worst. |
I still want to see his streak end with everyone who he beat at Mania who is able to do it come out and beat him down.
|
Of all those people Kane is the only one who would make sense
|
King kong bundy would crush taker.

Man, you just brought me back to a time when Undertaker was exciting and interesting. Nostalgia rep.

I forgot about Jake Roberts for some reason, and then theres of course Snuka too.

I would so  if Batista beat Undertaker's streak, and then a few weeks later for whatever reason got released.
|
WWE.com has learned that David "Batista" Bautista has been released. We would wish him the best in his future endeavors, but he refused to job to The Undertaker and is now suing us for putting him in an unsafe work environment.
|
I hope he loses, and then is released.
And then goes to TNA and the same fans who said he sucked, cheer him there. Even though he sucks now and would suck then. |
If Hulk Hogan came in, took a dump on the TNA championship and murdered Samoa Joe they would think it was awesome.
|
Seriously.
|
I don't break promises.

I doubt Batista has the stroak to get Vince to agree to end Taker's streak.
Undertaker makes Vince quake in his boots because of how long he's been with the company. |
In complete honesty, I may stop watching wwe.

That too.
To Vince, Taker repersents his ultimate creation. And Taker knows that too. So he uses that advantage to get what he wants. |
Which isn't much. Seriously, in 16 damn years Taker has only held the title 4 times. And only one of those runs was really a run.
|
I could care less either way. Why is a streak at ONE event so damn important anyway? Rock's lost plenty of times at WM. Austin's lost a few. HHH has more wins than losses at that event. What's the big deal?
|
It's like HHH's losing streak at Survivor Series that was going for a while. They hyped it up, on a much smaller level, and it snapped with little mention.
HHH is 6/5 at mania and I hope it becomes 6/6 next year. Theres also the streak for most consecutive WM in ring appearances which is a tie between Bret and HHH, which HHH is about to have snapped. What's Shawn's record at WM? He's the real Mr. Wrestlemania. Hasn't he appeared at like 16 wms or something like that? |
HBKs 5/6 I believe, hopefully about to be 6/6 but not holding my breath. His 2 other appearances were non wrestling so I guess he's been at 14 wms.

Uhhhhh, yes. They are tied as of Wrestlemania 22. The key word is indeed consectutive. Which wrestlemania has HHH missed since his Wrestlemania debut at Wrestlemania 12? The correct answer would be none. He has appeared at all of them consecutively. That comes to a grand total of 11 wrestlemanias. Bret competed at 11 consecutive Wrestlemanias. 11 = 11, which means not only does he come close to touching Bret's record, he equals it. And with him being out this year, he stays at 11. Leaving Bret and HHH tied for most CONSECUTIVE wrestlemania in ring appearances, 11. A fact that was mentioned on air at Wrestlemania 22 last year. Goodnight. |
When I said is about to have snapped, I meant to say WAS about to have snapped. A typo. Nonetheless, he tied it.

Ok, I know this is turning into a "Taker Streak" thread, so let's review.
"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka Definitely a credible and worthy opponent, seemingly picked to give some credibility to their newest monster. A basically solid match by a fearless monster heel and an etablished veteran. Jake "The Snake" Roberts Another good, credible veteran, and a great payoff to a well-built feud that was seemingly a quick solution to another unexpected Warrior disappearance. Taker gets over well by surviving 2 DDTs. Giant Gonzales God this blew. Probably the worst Taker match in WM history, if not ever. Taker wins by DQ after a large man in an airbrushed suit of muscles introduces chloroform into the match. Taker undersells the chemicals, but so what. King Kong Bundy IMO this match weakened the Undertaker when he needed the aid of his pudgy little manager and his urn to win it. At least Bundy was a NAME, and not just a beast in a hairy suit. Diesel For a slugfest between a couple of guys without a lot of technical skill, this wasn't bad. A big man's brawl that saw Taker absorb two Jacknifes, it was about as good as could be expected. Sid A hastily thrown-together title match, and worse than most that didn't involve Hulk Hogan. Especially by the standards of the previous year, it was a crappy match between two big lugs, and it didn't help that Taker seemed to need Bret Hart's help to win the match. Kane 1 The culmination of months of excellent buildup, and proof that Glen Jacobs had finally found a gimmick that would stick. Too short, perhaps, but an excellent match between "brothers." Big Bossman Thing not to do at a PPV: Position a high-profile gimmick match in the middle of the program. Thing not to do at Wrestlemania: Take a multiple-time champion and one of the biggest guys in your company and stick him in a match with a lame-ass midcarder. Thing never to do: Have the victor's manager and henchmen apparently commit murder at the end of the match. I was never able to figure out if the Ministry or the Corporation were supposed to be the bigger heel, but either way, to see a man swinging motionlessly from the ceiling at the end of the match had to have scarred my mind. Add to that that it was a shitty use of HIAC in the first place. HHH Two of the best ring psychologists the WWE has ever seen in a violent, non-stop battle. Not much more to say about that, except that it was fantastic. Ric Flair Why exactly the Undertaker had any interest in beating up old men and their sons is beyond me, but by the standards of a couple of aging wrestlers, this wasn't too bad. Watchable, not spectacular. A-Train/Big Show Undertaker vs a shaved ape and an unshaved ape. WWE's attempt to groom Nathan Jones for something big blows up in their faces as the Undertaker takes on two slow-ass beasts, and then he pins the LESS credible of the two. Ugh. Kane 2 Again, far too short, but a good match between the two. The good part of this was the buildup to Taker's return, and the added return of Paul Bearer made it even more enjoyable. Randy Orton A good match and good with the legend-killer business and all, but the timing of this match was pretty bad. Orton was already struggling to recover from a poorly conceived face-turn and now he turns heel only to lose to the Undertaker. The only good part of this was that the resultant feud that lasted most of 2005 proved that WWE is, in fact, still aware of the definition of long-term booking. Mark Henry High points: Seeing Mark Henry get Last-Ride-ed, Tombstoned, and put in a box. Low points: Every other moment of this match. Being a casket match was probably the ONLY thing that made it even slightly watchable. Batista Ok, so this hasn't happened yet. But I think we all know what we're going to get. With two guys who can work when they want to, this ought to be something similar to Taker/Diesel and Taker/Sid. Given that this is a planned main event instead of the last-minute business that Taker/Sid was, it ought to be watchable, but I don't think that Batista is deserving of ending a legendary win streak. So out of all that, who is most worthy? Probably Kane. He's the only one who has given us a good match, let alone two, that wouldn't completely piss all over Taker's legacy in doing so. Thank you very much. |
