ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley knew his life was going to become hell after he humiliated Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania 23’s Battle of the Billionaires, and challenged the bald Chairman to “bring it on.” Mr. McManiac will bring it on April 29 at Backlash – and he won’t be alone.

Last night on Raw, Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Umaga joined forces to beat and bloody Lashley. The incensed billionaire then announced that Lashley would defend his championship against him, his son Shane, and the Samoan Bulldozer in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at Backlash.

But will the WWE Chairman throw more obstacles in front of the proud champion on the road to Backlash? Mr. McMahon was spotted at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I., the site of ECW on Sci Fi tonight. No one knows why he was there, but there is speculation that he will appear on the program. Last week, the New Breed – Elijah Burke, Matt Striker, Marcus Cor Von & Kevin Thorn – dealt the ECW Originals – Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer & Sandman – a devastating blow when they defeated them in a WrestleMania Eight-Man Tag Team rematch under Extreme Rules. Despite their loss in front of millions at WrestleMania 23, the New Breed showed they still had blood pumping in their arrogant hearts. This week on ECW on Sci Fi, the Originals will seek revenge when their leader, RVD, takes on explosive New Breeder Cor Von.

Also, the freakish Snitsky annihilated Hardcore Holly at the conclusion of his match with the veteran from Mobile, Ala. The deranged ECW Superstar broke Holly’s arm last week; what level of pain does he have in store on the next ECW on Sci Fi?

Well I've been ignoring ECW for so long, looks like I came in at the right time.

I think putting Punk in the NB and turning him heel was the most logical thing the WWE has done in a long while.

He's straight edge. Why would he want to hand out with drunks and pot heads? The second he got in the ring I knew he was turning. Hopefully he does become leader and eventually the face of the new ECW.

That was kind of an odd ending. From a storyline standpoint, I don't see why Punk would need any of them. Especially if they are trying to continue the New Breed/Originals feud, then maybe the Originals get another member to make the sides even. Also odd was that Punk was just celebrating with them, and didn't actually attack anyone.

That was the gayest heel turn ever.

He should've at least raised RVD's hand and then low blow him when his back was turned.

Knowing WWE, it probably is.

If they were smart, they'd have Punk be with them because the Originals disgust him. Then after the New Breed wins the feud, have Punk turn on them too, basically saying he used them as a means to an end. A Burke Vs CM Punk feud would be good to, IMO.

Anyway, with Burke hurt, this doesn't surprise me, and Punk will be the leader.

When I read the outcome to the show, I believed Punk would turn on the New Breed at a later date, but they really should keep him in there, if he's going to be anywhere. The Originals are all drunks/stoners. They can't even walk without painkillers. It makes sense Punk would be against them.

I'd personally like to see Punk become the leader of the New Breed, which pisses Elijah Burke off, leading to Burke turning face and feuding with Punk. :y:

Just what we need, another title. Seriously tho, I was a proponent of introducing the TV title up until recently. The amount of belts just really bothers me.
I wouldn't mind the TV title being introduced if ECW were getting its own ppvs, and if the World and Tag Titles were consolidated into split brand titles, with the IC, US, TV, Womens and Cruiserweight belts being brand exclusive.
