I don't see Robert Downey Jr as a good choice for such a role, I can't take 'Iron Man' seriously anyway as hero or whatever and I dunno, seems they arnt making superhero movies for the right reasons anymore, just like they are picking them off for no reason and having a shot at bringing them to the big-screen without any real thought or excellence to the product.

I actually saw that question in a 'who else/did' kind of tone. Just saying Mr Moore and Mr Sandler did it perfectly in their respected films.
Anyway......I still can't/don't/won't see RDJ as a convincing superhero. HW's latest superhero flicks have been horrible and I fear this choice of an adaptation is very much a bad one. |

Probably one of the best page to screen comic book suits I've ever seen. Personally, I would think Batman and Spiderman's suits have been the best. But this, from what I've seen, is right up there. Couldn't ask for more really.

I haven’t seen any mention of this anywhere online, but it’s exciting news, and I have to share it with you guys. Right now, if I had to wager on whether or not IRON MAN was going to be one of next summer’s big films, I’d say it will be. It seems like Jon Favreau has done everything right so far, and I’m hearing really exciting things about the action sequences and the casting, and I’ve been sold on Robert Downey Jr. since the moment he was announced. Today, though, he’s shooting scenes featuring an actor who is a set-up for a larger Marvel continuity, and it’s exciting because I’m hoping this character can start showing up in other films, and we’ll start seeing Marvel Studios creating a larger world, one that exists outside the frames of the individual movies. This is a major step towards making that AVENGERS movie we’ve been hearing about. So who’s the actor? Who’s the character? Sam Jackson. Nick Fury. Count on it. |
Son of a bitch, they're going for the Ultimate version of Fury. Sweet. I don't see how that's gonna kick start an Avengers movie, though.
Tobey M taking pictures in a cameo (I've mentioned this before and forever will), now that's crossover stuff right there. It would be smarter to keep in the true theme of the 'Superhero Team-Up' and comprise the Avengers of Marvel heroes we already seen on screen recently. It doesn't follow the comic but it is the true spirit of the Super Team. My roster would be Blade (TV version), Spidey, Hulk, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, Dare Devil (recast), Wolverine, Elektra, and the Human Torch to get jiggy wit it. If it sounds like the Ultimate Alliance videogame, good. I'd use the Black Panther as the POV character played by Wesley Snipes (who really looked into the role, it's also why I'd use the TV Blade even if he's gay). It would blow Justice League out of the water on the count that these guys are established, and JLA would have to introduce live action version of most of the roster (Brandon Routh and Chris Bale being the only real veterans). It would also make all those years of Marvel movies coming out to polarizing quality seem worth it. People would collect previously released movies along with the Avengers DVD, especially if they were re-released as Avenger Editions or something. It might even spark interest in continuing some failures if the characters kick ass in Avengers (DD and Elektra, looking at you two lovebirds). That's what I'd do. Sorry for the rant. |
