TNA's new Title Belts
 

So apparently TNA have their new World and Tag Title (as well as possibly a new X Division Title according to some). Does anyone have a pic of any of these new belts?

The new ones are made of Cardboard and have Jeff Jarett's pictures pasted on them so the wrestlers always remember who owns those belts...

I respect the feel of the original belts. There are very few belts that are done well, I LOVE the WHC, but it's a throwback too....

Apparently they're meant to be "jewel belts," whatever that means. Apparently that connects to them being pretty.

They should bring in the new TNA X-Division Championship post-Sacrifice. I expect Jay Lethal to walk away Champion. With Black Machismo as Champion, Chris Sabin can team with Alex Shelley, and pitch some tents. And because you just know TNA wants the attention back on them from ROH's PPV announcement, we'll see TNADD kick in even further. And with Russo behind the book, you know what that means? TITLE CHANGES~!

Seriously, the new X-Division belt should be introduced by Jay Lethal on the first edition of iMpact! that he is Champion.

I have a feeling we're going to see the first TNA World Heavyweight Champion crowned at Slammiversary. I see Kurt Angle winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at Sacrifice (scoring the fall against Sting, so Cage can keep his streak), and then claiming he wants to usher in a new era of TNA wrestling, or something. Cue King of the Mountain Match to crown the first TNA Champion.

Introducing the TNA World Tag Team Championship is tricky, but this is how I would do it: At Sacrifice, Scott Steiner and Tomko pin Team 3D to win the NWA World Tag Team Championship. The LAX are pissed because they weren't involved in the fall. Tomko and Steiner won't give them a shot, so Homicide and Hermandez, using the announcement of a new TNA World Heavyweight Championship by Kurt Angle, bring in new tag belts, and claim to be the TNA World Tag Team Champions. Tomko and Steiner take offence, so we get a match signed between the two teams at Slammiverary with both titles on the line. The LAX win, then thrown down the NWA World Tag Team Championship, and continue on as TNA World Tag Team Champs.

I still think that the NWA and Tag champions should just "become" the TNA and TNA Tag champions so that the legacy of their title history isn't interrupted.

They will probably look so bizarre.

I have had the same passing idea. I don't think it's a bad one, at all.

Checking TNA's title history, you'll see they start the NWA World Heavyweight Title history with Ken Shamrock, who officially crowned the first Champion of the TNA era. I think just changing the names of the belts, and only dating the history back that far is acceptable.

I always thought wrestlers went to TNA to win the NWA Worldheavyweight Title. If that title is no longer there, what the hell's the point?
The King of the Mountain match is another stupid match from TNA. You have to pin someone before climbing a ladder and putting the title on a hook. What the hell?

Apparently it had "NWA" on it. I would imagine it'll be the same belt without the "NWA" letters/name.

The best of the three is definitely the tag titles.

In fact, if they made it a bit bigger I think that would have been better than what they chose for the world title. It's not a BAD looking title, but I'm not crazy about it being completely void of any color besides gold.

Those shots make them look better.

The question now are the titles starting from new with 3D and Angle as the first champions, or will that start from the people who held the NWA Championships when TNA Started (Shamrock and whoever the Tag Champs were).

They all look pretty good! The heavyweight looks pretty nice!

The World Heavyweight Title looks fucking sweet. I love it. A World Title doesn't need to look colourful. I prefer the mostly gold look for a World Title. To be perfectly honest, though, I do love the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. That is a fucking sexy belt.

My first reaction when I saw the Tag Team Titles was "Ew." Just looked very plain and blocky. They're growing on me, though. I think it was mainly the font saying "World Tag Team Wrestling Champion." They are nice belts, though.

The X-Division Title is hot. I love the way they made it look like it could be a World Title, however the colour scheme (silver and red) is what stops it from potentially overshadowing the TNA World Title.

I am also curious about the histories. The X-Division Championship should keep its history. I think it would be wise to start the World and Tag Team Titles from scratch, though. Wikipedia (and I know that's not the most reliable site) claims Christian Cage and Kurt Angle to be the only guys to be TNA World Heavyweight Champion. I guess that makes Cage a three-time World Champion, and Kurt Angle a seven-time Champ. They also recognise Team 3D as the first-ever TNA World Tag Team Champions. That takes their number of World Tag Title reigns up to 20.

World: Very nice, but could have gone with a bit more distinction in the details.

Tag: Best of the three, reminds me a bit of the classic IC style, crossed with the NWA World belt.

X: Best improvement for sure; the X is incorporated much better, it looks more like a respectible belt now, and doesn't scream "spot monkey champion of the world!"

World is not very nice, Tag is good, X division is ok.

The World title looks like ass, the X title doesn't look too bad, and the tag titles look like a hybrid of the mid 80's WWF title, the old school IC title, and WWF Tag titles.

X Division is somewhat blah to me, but like I said, the other ones are really nice. TNA Replica Belts, coming soon.

None of them look distinct, they all look pretty generic. Blah to them all.

Well except the X divsion title, it has a distinct look it's just too bad it's ugly as hell.

If it wasn't for the fact I think "X-Division" is a stupid name, I'd like that belt a hell of a lot more than the World title. (Seriously, add more gold and replace the big red X and shit with "WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT WRESTLING" and make the belt a bit bigger and you have a pretty good World title.) The World title doesn't look like complete shit, but the eagle's wings are a bit much. (Also, the font they used looks fucking cheesy.) The Tag Title looks the best,IMO.
