WWECW...while the final chapter hasn't been written, it looks like it.
While the final chapter of ECW or WWECW hasn't been written yet, it seems like it is only a matter of time before it goes up in a puff of smoke. Did it ever really have a chance or was it doomed from the get go. If it wasn't who do you blame? Vince? Paul Heyman? Van Dam? Kurt Angle?
Discuss. |
It has no signs of ending at any point in time. Why, cuz the originals are gonna be all gone?
They're gonna continue to use it as they are. How long is their TV deal? Because that's how long it will last. It's part of Smackdown tapings, and the whole thing can't be costing enough money to be losing money. I don't blame anyone anyways. It never proclaimed to be or should have been expected to be anything more or less than it has. |
Vince just set it up so he could knock it down and piss off fans of the original ECW. End of story.

I had hopes for it...but knew it would go down the drain the minute Kurt Angle moved to it....That pissed me off horribly...
Now its just pure wattered down ECW...when the Originals leave...its gonna officially become just watered down crap...the name of ECW will forever be ruined and now the greatness that was ECW will only be referred to as...Old ECW...or Original ECW |

If it wasn't called "ECW" no one would care.

What DAMN said.

Nahhh ECW can sustain itself once it gets a new history... Its clear this is now Heymans ECW, its just the name of the 3rd brand, which I am all for. It just needs to get better, and its heading there.
|
I think I'll start blaming people when ECW is actually scrapped...

ECW has been nothing but a success. Velocity never pulled such numbers.

If you didn't expect ECW: The Brand to be ECW then you will realize it is a good show (not great). I never expected this to be the true relaunch of ECW. They used the ECW name to get instant brand recognition and it worked. They are slowly moving away from needing the "Old ECW" attached to it. Eventually, the WWECW will truly be a "new breed unleashed".

Gotta agree with JamesSteele. I expect this time next year all the originals will be gone and the brand will have a different name altogether.

It's going to be called Tuesday Night STFU and every match will feature John Cena.
|
I vote for WWE Hardcore Heat.
|
I was always disappointed that WWE 24/7 wasn't a revival of the HC title. A channel that had a camera on the champion 24/7; you could tune in and find out what he was doing at any moment.
Though Hardcore Heat could be a similar concept; an hour-long show that shows you an overview of how the champion spent his week, and what challenges he had to fend off. |

I was thinking it was so retarded that they might actually do it.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DarthTedious again. |

It'll just be called "On Sci-Fi". :shifty:

I cant think of anything better to watch at 10 on a Tuesday..wait...its Tuesday?!...FUCK IM MISSING THE SHIELD!.....

It had some potential at first. Keeping ECW rules at least gave it its own identity against Raw and SmackDown!, and having guys like Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and the Big Show (say what you want about any of them, but they were fairly big stars, even if Sabu more or less only had a cult following) helped...but before long, none of the "ECW guys" were even really featured.

The problem is, the old ECW had a reputation, had something distinct. It was full of gems, if you sifted through the shit. And there was shit. And we accept that. And so on. The "new ECW" doesn't really offer the diversity Heyman said, which was KAYFABE, but still accurate about the real ECW. ECW on Sci Fi reminds me of the rest of WWE. The Rpoduction value seems a bit lower for that "oldschool" feel, but it's just another case of "meet the new hoss...Same as the old Hoss." |
I dunno guys, I like ECW right now.
|
They should have just brought back WCW.
|
Don't be ridiculous.

They play WCW replays? Or is this some joke that I don't get.

TNA. He's talking about TNA.
|
Oh right. Thanks. :o

ECW will survive until the day Sci-Fi cancels it.
Even then, if they can cut another deal with another network, it will continue. It's basically a televised feeder group anyway. I don't know why they don't just throw OVW on TV instead, or do a similar deal with ECW where they let an outside company run it, and simply give suggestions for who to push. It's the only way to get something different on WWE TV. Everything is coming from the same mindset. Which ever way you climb to the top of the mountain, the view is always the same. They need a different mountain with a different view. |
As I said many moons ago in a long dead thread...

I wasn't arguing that you said that. I was merely pointing out the difference between ECW and the "New ECW."
Honestly, I can't find a single thing in that that would indicate an argumentative stance. But then, that seems to be a trend. I agree with someone, they seem to infer the exact opposite. :wtf: |

After dealing with Alienoid, I completely understand. :D

Vince.
Resurrecting ECW beyond that first PPV wasn't the best idea in the world. There's little difference now between ECW and the other 2 brands. Then you factor in the whole thing about banned moves, Joey Styles on a short leash, WWE's recent trend of making "gimmicks" that they own (Marcus Cor Von = PB&J)...and calling this new show "ECW" was pretty much a bad idea. Even calling it "WCW" would have been a bad idea. ECW should only exist in DVDs showing the original and what not. Especially in a time where WWE's pushing of John Cena with no heir apparent has made their main brand unwatchable for the duration. |
