Official ECW Thread 6/5/07: LOL (Yes, the show is one big LOL)

Vince by the entrance sitting on a rocking chair.

:lol:

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:01 PM

I really want to see the three originals in this type of match, but I know Lashley is just going to win at the end.. The crowd is dead by the way

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:03 PM

*yawn*

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:04 PM

Is this the official thread? I knew Super Lashley was going to win

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:04 PM

lol guy with sign

"New Ecw Champion Lashley"

No, really?

Sure

ChiefStubbs 06-05-2007 10:04 PM

I may be the only person here who gives ECW a chance, but ten minutes in, I just turned it off. Hell, it seems to be that the only thing ECW is used for is to make Lashley look good and the Originals look bad.

Volchok 06-05-2007 10:04 PM

Wasn't that supposed to be the main event?

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:06 PM

I wish it was in Philly just one more time to see this horrible excuse for ECW to get crapped on

rob11 06-05-2007 10:07 PM

I hope the Philly crowd gives the product shit next week but since it will be mostly marks I doubt it.
Very lame so far.

But they don't want that kind of reaction.

They want the almost non-reactions they get now.

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:08 PM

They probably jack up the prices and move into rich neighborhoods so the "Original" fans cant buy tickets

I hate to break it to you, but WWE fans are usually in the same social class as original ECW fans are.

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:10 PM

AWW man, I hate seeing Big Stevie Cool job.

Volchok 06-05-2007 10:10 PM

lol random Stevie Richards spot.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:10 PM

Stevie is jobbing as a babyface tonight.

Good thing you only have to see it every other month.

The old ECW arena is close to the Wachovia center. Just that the entire crowd was smarks, thats the diff of course. They just don't like to pay WWE prices and for that product.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:12 PM

LOL Styles

"Stevie would love a victory..."

I'm sure Stevie would agree.

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:12 PM

Wonder who from ECW will get drafted

rob11 06-05-2007 10:13 PM

I just see Thorn in the ring wrestling thin air.

But for the first two One Night Stand's (how ironic is that statement?) they held them on ECW's home building, jacked up the prices, and a lot of original ECW fans went.

Crossrine 06-05-2007 10:14 PM

The crowd is dead as usual

The New Alhambra Arena is the actual home building, but yeah, the smarks have money just like the marks.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:16 PM

That was a decent match.

But of course this is a Disney crowd and they'll only cheer wannabe Marine wiggers.

Well I was talking about the fans who attended when it was still a company. I know alot of fans who saved up to go to One Night Stand thinking it was going to be the last/only chance to see ECW again.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:16 PM

LOL that music for the Legend Killed promo sounds like it should be a Christmas jingle.

rob11 06-05-2007 10:20 PM

Well, at least this beats the constant squash matches.

:wtf:

At least the squashes were pushing the actually wrestlers.

I'd take squash matches over poor "dancing" segments anyday.

I'm not a huge fan of old ECW talent being constantly squashed even though thats the way it goes. I hope the main event is ok. Haven't checked what it is yet.

Innovator 06-05-2007 10:25 PM

If Vince doesn't get drafted, will he get off my TV?

No, he'll just make his way onto Heros, 24, House, or other Monday night shows.

Boring chant...

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:33 PM

These idiots in Orlando need to appreciate the awesomeness that it is Burke and Cor Brown.

I would cheer them over the generic underdog face team. Maybe a slight mark out for the pounce.

Innovator 06-05-2007 10:36 PM

Burke and Monty Browvon are two of the 3 good things about ECW

Mr. Nerfect 06-05-2007 10:36 PM

I'm not sure how ECW is going down, but I actually called Bobby Lashley taking on the ECW Originals. I would have loved to have seen The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer come out and call out Lashley (who would be cutting a promo in a suit) for not being hardcore enough to represent ECW, which leads to Vince putting Bobby Lashley, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer into an Extreme Rules main event with the ECW World Title on the line. Then, just for the Hell of it, he adds all the other ECW Originals. That would have included Stevie Richards and Little Guido in my version, as weird as it would have been to see them in a main event.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:37 PM

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:37 PM

Punk vs. Striker

Innovator 06-05-2007 10:38 PM

Striker is gonna GO TO SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

McLegend 06-05-2007 10:38 PM

That dropkick Burke did was pretty sweet.

Mr. Nerfect 06-05-2007 10:38 PM

Good things about ECW (at least, in my opinion):

* Elijah Burke
* CM Punk
* Marcus Cor Von
* Joey Styles
* Matt Striker
* Stevie Richards
* Little Guido
* Kevin Thorn
* The Major Brothers

However, considering there aren't any Tag Team Titles, Guido and Richards don't make appearances, Thorn is going nowhere fast and Joey Styles has been neutered, you can pretty much take it down to Burke, Punk and Cor Von.

Who else would mark out if they changed the name Go To Sleep into the "Punk Punt?"

No one? OK.

Better Than You 06-05-2007 10:43 PM

Striker owns.

TAKE A NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:45 PM

I've noticed that Punk is a damn good merchandise mover, probably on par with the Hardys in terms of merchandise levels.

Better Than You 06-05-2007 10:48 PM

I wouldn't go that far just yet, but I'd definatly say he has potential to surpass the entire mid-card in terms of merch after one or two HIGH profile fueds. Easy.

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:49 PM

Did Striker raid Lex Luger's wardrobe?

No trust me, I've been to a lot of shows in the last 8 months and I've seen a LOT of Punk shirts, signs, etc.

Also his figures have been selling like hot cakes.

Better Than You 06-05-2007 10:53 PM

While I haven't been to A LOT of shows in the past 6 months (3) I agree. He pushes alot product. But I dont think he's out pushing the Hardys just yet.

Regardless with out a single big fued it's VERY impressive. I mean think about, since coming to the WWE has he even had two PPV blowoff matchs?

I didn't say he was out pushing them, I said he was probably at least on par with them.

You also have to take into account that Punk doesn't have a lot of products out compared to Hardy related stuff.

Better Than You 06-05-2007 10:56 PM

TAKE A NAAAAAAP!

KingofOldSchool 06-05-2007 10:57 PM

So when are we going to see more of the Striker/Burke advancement?

That may actually be watchable.

rob11 06-05-2007 10:58 PM

Predictible as usual but it wasn't too bad of a match.

This loss should get Striker out of the New Breed.

Predicable is not a bad thing. See Vince Russo for a comparison.

McLegend 06-05-2007 10:59 PM

Matt Striker shouldn't be allowed to wrestle.

He's good on the mic so maybe he could be a good manger or something like that. He might even have potential to do color.

Let him do anything else other then wrestle.

Better Than You 06-05-2007 10:59 PM

Boo

parkmania 06-05-2007 11:23 PM

I loved it when they were talking about RVD and Tazz said, "We wish him (big pause) good luck with his recovery." During the pause, I immediately said "well in his future endeavors."

So basically, the entire roster. ;)

Mooияakeя™ 06-06-2007 06:35 PM

Striker, like most of ECW is under used. He could so be a great heel. In fact, the New Breed has the talent to stick it to ECW. All members. I think I'd keep everyone but Thorn as singles heels, and use Thorn in Tag Team god knows who with.

Punk is a face, and why the fuck Lashley is considered ECW I dunno, him having the belt is stupid.

My big hopes (that could happen) are that the above get used right, Punk is a major player for the title. Dreamer and Sandman are tag team champions and Hardcore Holly is used correctly when he comes back.

Oh yeah, Heyman writing would be f'in awesome.
