Most tastless WWE angle?

I would do a poll but there are so many options, so lets make a DISCUSSION!

I say Katie Vick by FAR.... THAT WAS SO BIZZARE!

Mercury Bullet 06-22-2007 01:15 PM

Rey Mysterio's push based solely on Eddie Guerrero's death.

BigDaddyCool 06-22-2007 01:19 PM

TNA...wait that is a shot?

Then probably that stunt were Tommy Dreamer went around eating gross crap. He has no taste.

ttetf 06-22-2007 01:30 PM

Bossman/Big Show was pretty tasteless if you think about it. Considering (I think) Big Show's father was actually deceased at the time. Dragging the coffin through the cemetery with Big Show on top was just too much.

Speaking of Bossman, what about simulating murder on camera? Bossman vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 15 ended with Bossman lynched from the Cell. He struggled at first, but then apparently "died" as the cage was raised.

IC Champion 06-22-2007 01:33 PM

I beleive either Xero Limit, or The One compiled a pretty lengthy lists of tasteless angles and what not, pretty much had them all.

Dorkchop 06-22-2007 01:35 PM

I gotta go with Rey. At least the other ones were fake. Bossman/Big Show wasn't the greatest, but I laughed really hard when Big Show was on the casket.

It was me in one of the Vince threads.

Nark Order 06-22-2007 02:43 PM

I've been in many an arguement about this before but... The entire original idea of the Nation of Domination was pretty tasteless IMO.

Nowhere Man 06-22-2007 02:52 PM

The constant exploitation of Eddie Guerrero has got to be the top of the list. The whole deal with Randy Orton "killing" Undertaker in Eddie's low-rider, Rey and Chavo (and Chris Benoit and Eddie's widow) feuding over his legacy or whatever, it was such a complete lack of class on just about everyone's behalf.

Why? It was an adequate portrayal of a number of real-life groups.

St. Jimmy 06-22-2007 03:17 PM

The Hart Foundation was pretty tasteless. Canadians winning matches? C'mon now. Not possible.

The Right To Censor offended me.

Not to mention, if you are going to bring up a racist group as tasteless, howabout the Truth Commission? White South African Supremacists?

I was entertained bny both groups, but yeah, I think TC is far more tasteless.

First of all, Big Show's dad had died YEARS earlier.

Second of all hanging Bossman was no more or less offensive than blowing up Vince.

Finally, the most offensive thing WWE ever ran with was Eddie Guerrero's death, but in fairness the blame belongs on WWE, Rey, Vickie and countless other people's shoulders. I know they all have had a chance to get over it and I'm sure the mountain of cash they made from his untimely passing has eased their internal struggle with it, but it still, and I can't believe I am saying this as a fan of a man when speaking about the wife of a man, makes me angry they whored out his name and legacy.

thedamndest 06-22-2007 05:54 PM

Al Wilson comes to mind also.

Disturbed316 06-22-2007 05:55 PM

Thirdly, Bossman busted out the greatest poem in the world *siggy siggy*

darkpower 06-22-2007 05:56 PM

Not the "Rey's Eddie Memorial Run" in of itself, but how they built the Rey/Orton match during all of that. "Eddie is in Hell"? Yeah, way to go, WWE!

Stickman 06-22-2007 06:15 PM

Nation of Domination.....come on if there was a group of white supremecists it'd be terrible.

Xero 06-22-2007 06:19 PM

As KK said, that was the Truth Commission.

But Rey isn't a piece of shit for letting this all take place, when he could have said he would't do it, but yet he did anyway.

Stickman 06-22-2007 06:35 PM

Anytime we see Vince on TV post Stone Cold era.

Mooияakeя™ 06-22-2007 06:53 PM

Rikishi running Stone Cold over. Really was the most stupidest "who dunnit ever"....

...wonder if it'll be someone like Nunzio this time who killed our great chairman...

Xero 06-22-2007 07:02 PM

Or Marella.

"My, I made a spicy meat-a ball!"

Russenmafia 06-22-2007 07:54 PM

The Vince McMahon Kiss My Arse club.

Juan 06-22-2007 08:42 PM

The Katie Vick thing was the only thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth...

Not only tasteless, but pointless to boot.

road doggy dogg 06-22-2007 08:49 PM

The only thing I've ever felt remotely disgusted watching in the WWE was the whole post-Eddie shit. Totally un-necessary. Everything else was pretty rofl.

Fuck that. That's no more disgusting than the rest of it.

Good thing WWF never went there. That's one thing I can respect them for.

Kane Knight 06-22-2007 09:00 PM

Oh, and I don't really totally agree with RDD, but besides the Eddie stuff, I can't really think of something that struck me as tasteless. There's stuff I didn't want to see, like Trips fucking a fake corpse, but I didn't think it was tasteless.

Tasteless would be a dummy falling from the rafters in a superhero costume.

Tasteless would be intentionally doing a terrorism skit right after a major event (Hassan does not count).

Tasteless would be berating someone's recently dead father, or actually dragging the real corpse behind your vehicle.

Tasty would be actually cooking Pepper.

Though I've got to admit, the tone has changed. Bossman's deal was so over the top, and we KNEW that it was supposed to be over the top.

WWE trying to being back ECW.... It's a scar on the memory of what it was.

Exyle 06-22-2007 09:39 PM

The Big Boss Man killing Al Snow's dog and feeding it to him. Poor Pepper!

And the obligatory nod toward Katie Vick on this topic.

LOL

Jordan 06-22-2007 10:03 PM

I dunno, death play like Eddie, Vince, and Big Show is bad but I think they reach a whole new level when they fuck dead cheerleaders.

Jordan 06-22-2007 10:03 PM

Also Lita's baby dying is really bad.

Jordan 06-22-2007 10:03 PM

Also giving birth to a hand, but at least that was funny.

Jordan 06-22-2007 10:04 PM

AND, I am not offended by the Eddie/Rey thing honestly.

mrslackalack 06-22-2007 10:31 PM

That didn't happen too long after my ex miscarried. It's a sore spot, but I still think it's stupid, not tasteless.

loosecollector 06-23-2007 01:11 AM

Angles:

* Katie Vick
* Birth to a hand
* Kurt Angle

Xerzes 06-23-2007 04:45 AM

Plenty of terrible things have been done, but most of the best examples have already been mentioned in this thread, so here's one which has yet to come up.

When Earthquake sat on Damien, Jake Roberts' snake, and the following week served "Quakeburgers" to the announcers. They all complimented the Natural Disaster on his fine culinary skill, until he of course revealed them to be made of snake. Mmm-mmm, snake. I think Heenan kept eating.

QUOTE]

I don't know...I mean, yes both acts were imitating apparent murder, but at least with Vince we didn't actually see "the corpse" :shifty: ...and it didn't happen at Wrestlemania (the one event WWE pushes to the mainstream media more than any other). I guess to me, the Bossman death angle was more tasteless than Vince's "death"...

Kane Knight 06-23-2007 10:59 PM

the Bossman angle was at a different period. I'd say it's actually less offensive because of the time.
